DatSamTho Posted September 16, 2020 Posted September 16, 2020 (edited) BYOND key: Tomkiel Character names: Jose Dean, Ostroverkhov Urvan, those are the main ones, but I got some other ones that I never really play. How long have you been playing on Aurora?: I've been playing on and off since around late 2018-ish, if my memory serves me correct, and then pretty consistently from late 2019, to now Why do you wish to be on the whitelist?: I've been given interim status, a few times, now, and I gotta say- it was fun. Other than it simply being fun, I'd like to be able to coordinate and organize, as I'm often available during lower pop rounds, where command isn't plentiful. And I want to finally use my Unathi whitelist which I've neglected. Why did you come to Aurora?: Aurora was the first server of SS13 that I was introduced to. I did try to branch out to other servers, but most of them just didn't scratch the rp itch, and usually were too chaotic, so I often enjoy the calmer moments on the Aurora. Have you read the Aurora wiki on the head roles and qualifications you plan on playing?: Ayup Have you received any administrative actions? And how serious were they? Worst was a 3 day ban for validhunting, some months ago, now, I believe. Please provide well articulated answers to the following questions in a paragraph each. Give a definition of what you think roleplay is, and should be about: Roleplay, is in all essentiality, having fun pretending to be a different person or a bug, in an alien, and exciting universe. Do you like being a rat scurrying around the station and stealing food or a bartender doing bar rp for three hours? Having fun at it? Go right ahead. As long as you keep withing the rules, that is. What do you think the OOC purpose of a Head of Staff is, ingame?: A head of staff is there to 1. Organize the crew, to be able to effectively deal with issues, and help drive a story that the antags migt come up with 2. Provide new rp possibilities, that would often not be possible without a head of staff. (Expeditions, banquets, a raffle, etc.) and 3. Be there, to teach new players What do you think the OOC responsibilities of Whitelisted players are to other players, and how would you strive to uphold them?: A whitelisted player, is supposed to, in my opinion, have a high degree of competenecy in the departaments they play, as well as rp in general, and the current overall lore, all to be able to take part and encourage in new roleplay options for the rest of the players onboard. And, as to how I'd strive to uphold that, well, I'd try to maintain a high standard of roleplay, as well as keep up to date with the current lore (which isn't hard, as it's interesting already :>) Could you give us the gist of what is currently happening in Tau ceti and how it affected your character and their career? Currently, there is an ongoing Phoron shortage, that might quite likely, develop into a crisis. More locally, the Aurora seems to have been once again, the hotspot for everything bad happening, with Tajarans with guns, coming in the struggle of the suns against the moon, and more recently, the Dionae have also been up to. . . stuff. Jose has been affected quite a bit, by the recent events, losing a lot of friends to them. Him, as well as my new CE character, will have pressure put on them, to try and minimise the use of Phoron in engineering, switching more to the Tesla, and using more non-Phoron based set-ups. And my captain, will most likely be pressured to make sure the mining departament gets everything they need, as well as ensure their safety. What roles do you plan on playing after the application is accepted? I'll definetly be playing a CE character, as that is the departament I feel the most comfortable in, and have the most knowledge in. Other than that, I'll dabble with playing captain. And maaaybe a Counselor or Liason? But- that's in the future, I'd have to do some more research before I jump into one of those. Characters you intend to use for command or have created for command. Include the job they will be taking.: Koskek Sauh - CE Andreas Belbase - Captain How would you rate your own roleplaying?: I'd say it's a 6 to 7/10 Do you understand your whitelist is not permanent, and may be stripped following continuous administrative action? Yes Have you familiarize yourself with the wiki pages for the command roles? Yes Extra notes: N/A Edited September 24, 2020 by tomkiel
sebkillerDK Posted September 21, 2020 Posted September 21, 2020 ey, ya did the thing. anywho, i ahve fun interactions with ostrov and jose, mostly ostrov from playing CMO with them under me in medical. OOC'ly tomkiel is a great lad, we chat often and it's allways in good spirits. I personally think tomkiel would do great as a chief engineer, i know that they are rather skilled in the department, and i think they would do nicely filling the role of greasemonkey. im also personally rather curius to see how you will handle the stress of command/captain in hectic rounds. +1 from me, looking forwards to seeing you in command.
ThelonTV Posted September 21, 2020 Posted September 21, 2020 Jose Dean has been a station engineer for ages now. The next logical step would be to aim for CE. +1 for the nice RP I got out of them
Estoytrucha Posted September 26, 2020 Posted September 26, 2020 Low pop rounds often suffer for a lack of command staff, and Tomkiel knows engineering backwards and forwards. I can certainly vouch for his rp prowess, though I know I'm biased and will get that out of the way. As long as he isn't playing something expected to frontline combat, I think he could avoid most of the pitfalls that command often faces when dealing with antags. He has my +1.
Tomixcomics Posted September 27, 2020 Posted September 27, 2020 +1 out of me, Ostrov is a good character and always fun to have around and I haven't spoken to Jose as much but he certainly seems like a deep and engaging character.
Soultheif96 Posted September 27, 2020 Posted September 27, 2020 I enjoyed being around Jose Dean and Ostrov Urvan. They keep the lowpop going and display great capacity for RP. They have my +1.
MEDTECH Posted September 28, 2020 Posted September 28, 2020 I mostly see Urvan on many shifts, as we are on the same GMT, and he looks like a pretty human and fleshed out character who knows his job, with good communication skills. +1 !
OffRoad99 Posted September 28, 2020 Posted September 28, 2020 I'm familiar with our dear Ostrov, he's mostly *the* EMT when I join the round with my trauma physician. He's a good RPer who knows his stuff and, more than anything, can communicate well and on time. +1 from me.
Eple Posted October 1, 2020 Posted October 1, 2020 After i stopped getting hurt in hackin related accidents for months, i havent seen much of medical anymore but i can only imagine your doing a good job, I miss Jose tho
ShesTrying Posted October 2, 2020 Posted October 2, 2020 Okay, I'm going to be trialing you. Your trial starts today, the 2nd, and ends on the 9th of October. Please continue to collect feedback during your week, and have fun in your new command roles!
Lmwevil Posted October 3, 2020 Posted October 3, 2020 Was pretty good, tries their best not to be an ass. Had some great 1 on 1 RP regarding the Phoron shortage as a Breeder. Super competent at least at being a Captain
Hiccup121 Posted October 4, 2020 Posted October 4, 2020 Really great and down to Earth (station) captain. Loved playing with him, all round great player and character. +1
4000daniel1 Posted October 6, 2020 Posted October 6, 2020 Tomkiel and his characters are a lotta fun to interact with. And his new captain character seems to know what he is doing too. +1
Astra Posted October 7, 2020 Posted October 7, 2020 +1 I've not really interacted a lot, but I've seen captain belbase in action, and he seems well suited to run the station.
KesterShadowHair Posted October 8, 2020 Posted October 8, 2020 I've interacted with Tomkiel ICly and OOCly doing terminal RP and aurora RP. I've interacted with their characters during the trial and would easily promote them to an official status. +1
ThelonTV Posted October 8, 2020 Posted October 8, 2020 Not your run off the mill captain, brings a breath of fresh air into captainhood +1
ShesTrying Posted October 10, 2020 Posted October 10, 2020 Congratulations! Welcome to the command team-- enjoy your stay! Locking and archiving.
