Return Rat

Is this thread a joke? Yes No, I don't know. But will I still be serious about trying to convince you to bring back rat? Yes.

Why we should bring back rat. I will lay it out three simple reasons why. But I will also list out a few cons of bringing it back.

Some pros
1. Being a rat was a interesting way to play on the server, and was pretty fun to do. It will challenging, you had to survive, adapt, and thrive in a place where everything is trying to kill you, and you're but a tiny little rat. I do with fondness remember looking back to playing a rat shift after shift, being both a helper and an annoyance to the crew.

2. Forming small rat gangs to do complex plans, I also remember teaming up with other rats to go raid the kitchen for it's supplies, and escaping with it, it was honestly a lot of fun doing a heist like that.

Some cons

1. It annoys janitors (This was meant to go into the pros section)

2. Wardens got annoyed by mice chewing on their boxes and spilling cuffs, pepperspray grenades, and the like everywhere. Which honestly an understandable annoyance, but we should remember, mice chew on things endlessly to help dull down their teeth.

3. A critical cheese shortage will plague the ship.

I hope with these arguments, we can return the beloved rat back to their rightful spot.

I'll die on the hill that rats need to stay gone forever, ideally removed wholesale from the ghost spawner list if they haven't been already. Never once were they not the most annoying little pieces of shit around.

The Horizon has significantly higher standards of health and pest control than the previous Station had, and it should remain so. The only place I could tolerate rats would be on some of the shittier third party vessels/locations, where ideally you get a singular spawn and if you die that's it.

As much as I would like to see rats return because it would be funny if they ate the chef's food, they have no reason to exist outside of ruining RP.

Clarified that I'm not a RP hater.

I can't believe I've been here long enough that people have already forgotten how bad rat roleplay is.

Anyway. This has already been discussed ad nauseum.

Immediate vote for dismissal.

Seconding what Garn said, we need crew who keep the rats alive while other crew try to murder them for eating everything.

The real antagonist was never the mercs, it was the rats.

I will DIE in HELL before I let a rat player survive.

These four people have one thing in common. They're all crusher fans, their opinions. IGNORED.

Jokes aside, I think what you all say are good points, but I counter that is what the point of rat is, to cause grief and unite the crew under one goal, kill the rat.

Also to Carvers point about higher standards of health. A endless hoard of lizards, rats, slimes, and more that come out of the vents would like to clarify that has very little truth to it.

I remember the rat hordes, eating food, crashing situations, getting yeeted by turrets, and being a vague backround radiation in some rounds.

with that said 100% I want the fuzzy fuckers back

I hate crusher too your slander stands no ground.

Unironically tho if rats go anywhere let it be on third party ships and sites where they’re contained away from the average player’s round and the lack of hygiene may be expected, with one life as said. Good compromise for people who hate them and people who want them since the former won’t be going on a third party ship/site very often at all.
