Hey everyone! I know it's been a while since I've been proper active anywhere with Aurora, but I'm still working hard to fix up our wiki. The list should be updated. I'm just making this post for some call outs for aid in some regards.

Call Outs:

To ensure that I receive the information correctly and have it stored in a nice convenient place PLEASE PM ME ON THE FORUMS OR DM ME ON DISCORD (AllyBear#5010)

1. People have asked for a Command Update: Please address what is wrong/outdated on the page and what should be fixed. https://wiki.aurorastation.org/index.php?title=Guide_to_Command

2. People have said NT Occupation Qualifications page has issues: Please address directly what the issues are to me. https://wiki.aurorastation.org/index.php?title=NanoTrasen_Occupation_Qualifications

3. Station's Directive Page: Again please inform me what's wrong and how to fix. https://wiki.aurorastation.org/index.php?title=Station_Directives

4.

5. Xenoarcheology: What's broken and how to fix? https://wiki.aurorastation.org/index.php?title=Guide_to_Xenobiology

6. Antag pages: I just need people who play a lot of antags to go through the pages and tell me what's wrong with each one. This might take the longest of the bunch. https://wiki.aurorastation.org/index.php?title=Template:Antagonists

I don't need you to be an expert on the guides to help fix them. If you see something that is just blatantly wrong call it out to me. Even if you do not know how to properly fix it. Me being able to properly label things as WRONG can go a very long way. Now to reviews.

Reviews:

1. Construction Materials https://wiki.aurorastation.org/index.php?title=Guide_to_Construction_Materials

2. Engineering pages (minus construction) https://wiki.aurorastation.org/index.php?title=Template:Engineering

3. Telecomms. https://wiki.aurorastation.org/index.php?title=Telecommunications

4. Virology. https://wiki.aurorastation.org/index.php?title=Guide_to_Virology

5. Wizard Page: I know I listed the other antag pages previously, but a lot of work has gone into the wizard page. If anything is still broken with that page please inform me. https://wiki.aurorastation.org/index.php?title=Wizard

6. Toxins: Fixed up by Syn Last Week https://wiki.aurorastation.org/index.php?title=Guide_to_Toxins

7. Guide to Construction: https://wiki.aurorastation.org/index.php?title=Guide_to_Construction

8. Guide to Command: https://wiki.aurorastation.org/index.php?title=Guide_to_Command

Note:

I am practically in the middle of a college semester. That means my availability will be incredibly sporadic. If you send me a message and I haven't replied in a week, please resend the message. I am not able to properly scan the forums as I once was. I need messages to be sent to me through the forum or discord. Feel free to reply to this thread on the forum, but I will still need messages.

Thank you guys!

I think that it would be beneficial to have the recently added old-code bar tending recipes taken off of the wiki once more. Yes, there may be some players that complained about the old recipes not being on the wiki, but the whole "cool" aspect of these special items like Mint Juleps are the fact that you either have to: be taught how to make them icly, or dive into the code to find the recipes in dream maker. Overall, I think it would benefit rp to have some of those recipes remain secretive or generally unknown to most.

I've seen links to the Antag Uplink, but no functioning page for it. Might be helpful for traitor or rev guides if we could see that posted in text somewhere on the wiki. If memory serves, it mostly has in-built item descriptions, but those without could be given one on this to-exist page.

Not necessary, but I think it would give people some level of foresight for antag plans or greater understanding of certain unique items' functions.

The Chemist job page could use some fixes.

- Useful chemicals: Remove the part about RnD and robotics needed sulfuric acid from you, that part is unnecessary now.

- Pills: Pills can hold 60 units, maximum. Not 50 units

- Bottles: Bottles can hold 60 units, not 30.

-Grenades: Regular beakers can hold 60 units, not 50. So the math would add up to 120 units in a grenade.

An optional change would be to remove thermite from the 'good chemicals to bottle' section. It is not an efficient idea to bottle thermite. Ever.

Cyborg guide: Clarify that borgs actually have access to all station related information, including contingency protocols and omega directives.

AI guide: Give it a general lookover. Getting a feeling that Captain sanctioned executions are to be ignored, but all other sub-command executions are to be interfered with. (I might be dum tho. Reviews are good anyway.)

Update:

Added what Prate asked to the list. Removed many pages from both lists.

[Edit for clarity's sake]

NOTE: We are still looking to fix new pages, but we are now going to move forward and add more pages to the wiki. Please share suggestion for new pages. When doing so give at least an idea on what should be on that page or a link to an existing page on another wiki.

RULES FOR SUGGESTIONS:

1. If you just name a page that should be updated without giving any information on how it should be updated, your suggestion will be ignored.

2. If you ask for a page to be added and do not give any information on what should be on that page or give a link to an existing page on another wiki, do not expect the page to be added quickly.

GUIDES TO UPDATE

  • AI: This page is just weird. Especially the conflict section. Would ask for people knowledgeable with AI help out with this page.

  • Mining(Needs fixing up to update with Aurora)

  • Other Antags (Should be listed. Need antag players for guides.)

GUIDES TO REVIEW

  • Medical pages in general: With the lore/position/requirement rewrites some of the Medical Pages might be wonky. Point out things that are wrong.

  • Wizard

  • Xenobiology

Internal Affairs should be updated with more relevant information from CCIA on how to investigate, when to investigate, their powers during an investigation, how to do an interview, etc etc.

Whenever the wikidevs wish to take that on as a project, we'll work with them to get it sorted out. If you have any more particular points that you want cleared up, leave them in your post and we'll do our best to have them all covered when the time comes.

A general guide to this might be added to Scientist, but I think developers would not like the precise math for Telescience to be easily available. Having the exact figures on the wiki results in a higher number of people who eventually abuse it using coordinate calculators or other tools.

Posted

Having a basic grasp thanks to a guide but really learning something ICly isn't a bad thing at all. The point of the wiki is to guide players, not hold their hands and give all the answers. Still if the page is too vague and becomes useless, that is a problem. I will speak with LanceLynx and the devs to see what needest be done.

The definition of corporate violation "Illegal Search" needs to be revised. Security is allowed to search a crewmember for probable cause ONLY in code blue and above according to this CIAA post:

It will be the responsibility of the Security Department to provide a probable cause for the intended search, and it will be the responsibility of the Command Staff to exercise restraint when using this authority. Heads of Staff should only be denying an officer entry to a location if the search is without cause. Command Staff who are reported and found guilty of abusing this authority will be severely punished.

https://forums.aurorastation.org/viewtopic.php?f=107&t=9124

However, corporate regulations define "Illegal search" as this:

To preform [sic] a search of an employee or workplace without a search warrant, clearance, or probable cause on code green.

To abide by the relatively recent change in policy, the definition of "Illegal search" must be changed to this:

To perform a search of an employee or workplace without a search warrant or clearance on code green.

I'll also say that nowhere in that post does it state that probable cause searches are only granted in code blue, in fact, I never even addressed that point there.

Under code green security have always been, and are still able to conduct arrests/searches without a warrant under very specific circumstances. Directly witnessing a crime or holding the rational belief that the crew may be in immediate danger from the individual are both specified as green lights in regs. Code blue nullifies security's requirement for a warrant and allows them to act solely on suspicion.

The part of my post you cited was specifying that command can deny security to search anywhere under their jurisdiction no matter the circumstances, warrant on code green, base suspicion on blue, etc. So security are expected to provide a probable cause for their search to the Head of Staff if prompted. No matter how valid their search may be, the head of staff has primary authority.

The Emergency Response Team equipment page is very out of date. Doesn't include most of the available weaponry and equipment, also has some deleted equipment. I can help rewrite it, if needed.
