Corporate Regulations - Tweak Special Modifiers
Pratepresidenten replied to UnknownMurder's topic in Rejected Policy
Never have I ever seen re-education used. Nor does it seem fitting prior to the rebranding. Axe it all. The rest looks pretty solid! -
Helo fren. Shadow cant pick up right now as he's retired, so Ill take your appeal. Now, its pretty safe to say your track record is pretty messy, so lets make this run a good one. Give the rules a re-read, take a breath and do your best ? Appeal accepted!

Orleans Community Exile Appeal
Pratepresidenten replied to OrleansBanAppealAccount's topic in Unban Requests Archive
Hello my guy. Although Im sure you really want to come back and you regret your decisions, if you're gonna pull the prison analogy, I have one for you. You do not get lenience or a reduced sentence for trying to break out of prison. At a brief glance it sticks out like a sore thumb that you already tried to evade yet again not even 3 months ago, and you even being here is more evasion to add to your grand total. I am honestly sorry you have such a compulsive need to try to evade your ban, you're only digging yourself the deepest of holes, so do yourself a massive favor, and just stop. Try your luck in five years. Appeal denied. -
Hewwo frens, it is I, Pwat. Keeping this short, Matt and I have come to the conclusion that there wasnt really any issue here beyond the direct intervention at the chapel, which was deemed fine. Whats being said regarding engagements and restraint for the rest of the round is backed up by logs. So all in all, the ban will be lifted. Complaint will be closed in about a day unless there are further concerns.

As discussed with the applicant, this as a custom item will be denied. However, implementation of xeno-friendly welding masks will be made available in various places sometime in the future.

Application denied. You can contact me for further details regarding.

Official System for Reporting Staff Confidentially
Pratepresidenten replied to a topic in Accepted/Implemented Policy
Although I can see the merit with confidentiality and such, I kinda feel it goes against what people want. People want transparency and for things to be in the open, yet we should put in a system that is the most hush-hush that only the punished party will know of. Whats to say said staff member wouldnt use deductive reasoning to pinpoint whoever complained? Even more easily if they're told "You cant do X, or you need to reign in your shit with on Y" There is also the thing about staff not really being staff past the boundries of whats officially Aurora, players can be as nice or as shit they want outside the Aurora bounds without much issue, so why wouldnt this apply to staff aswell? Although, depending on the issue, you can get a hard slap or worse from HR for bad shit happening outside the workplace, this isnt really a workplace. I dont think its too much to ask for the staff to not be held to their "Official" standards at all times, no matter where. There are, of course, exceptions, but if there are repetitive and persistent issues with someone, it should be put under the magnifying glass. I can understand the apprehension and fear that might come with pointing a finger at someone "High profiled" like a staffmember, but having the spotlight put in your face surely isnt pleasant either? All in all, Im not really supportive of this suggestion. If there is a clear issue, compile evidence, make a solid case and present it. Worst case scenario, you block the offending party where possible. -
You were already told you could never be unbanned. Appeal denied.

Im all for a subtle to moderate change, but not something as extreme as being doused in blood for an easy "HE DUN IT OFFICER, LOOK AT HIS CLOTHES!!!" Something light, but noticeable if you pay attention to the little things.

Official System for Reporting Staff Confidentially
Pratepresidenten replied to a topic in Accepted/Implemented Policy
The latter, the harrassment. Is it on the Aurora discord? -
I agree that a clear definition of allowed roles should be set in stone. As it stands right now, you can play two roles in security. This applies for everyone, HoS included. So ideally, you would be limited to: Investigative divison: Detective/FT or Security division: Officer/Warden Command in general is usually forced to pick ONE role they do within their respective department that they can play if their command slot is taken, or they just dont feel like command.

Official System for Reporting Staff Confidentially

@Marlon Phoenix What part outside of the server do you mean. Which aspect of discord is it? -
I dont think this is a good idea at all. Makes no sense for these to suddenly be all over maint.

? Im all game for these changes.

But the AI has zero power, therefore people dont listen, das the point. People weld their ways through walls and break windows beacuse "lmao the AI is just being a dick, bro. I dont have to listen for shit, its not command." My point was its kinda useless to use firelocks as a deterrent. You can inform them of an issue, and whatever happens next you can do literally nothing about. The ultimate decisionmaking falls on our lovable dummies on the ground.
-
I dont really see this as sarcasm and hostility. Looks like cold, hard facts to me. And this looks perfectly sensible to me. If you dont wanna be dicked by the rifle, play smart or wear protection.
-
Personally, I feel the firelock argument is as useless as the firelocks themselves. Its as Chada says, a momentary nuisance. But it also works both ways, and falling back to my statement of uselessness, almost noone ever respects a firelock. If its not mechanically sealed (Through actual atmospheric hazards), it will be ignored and used as an entry. And as I think Geeves is saying, it makes for a better round to not have the AI enforce its absolute control over a situation. I, for one, love being kinda helpless when shit goes down, watching crew do dumb shit and make tactically unsound decisions from the comforts of my sky-palace! This pretty much. When synths become basic bitch stuff, it'll be easier to put in new, fun mechanics that benefit all.

Ive asked this before, and was told that the vamps uses blood magics to seal and heal the bite on their victim.

Fair 'nuff

Who would have access to this? If you can just lolreset an airlock, might aswell just remove the configurability of airlocks, since they pretty much become pointless. That is, if this is just as a common feature as resetting the fire alarm. Dis is gud. I like this.
