  1. Application accepted in favor of all of the overwhelming amount of positive feedback with a lack of negative feedback from both players and staff. Glory to Aurora.
  2. Noooooo. You took the idea way too far there now. Civilian belts I think would be a good idea, but only for jobs that would expect to use lots of tools. For example, Detective and Nursing Intern/Engineering Apprentice.
  3. Excuse me, whitelist applications are not the place to argue about a person's effectiveness, unless the person in question is the applicant. Lets have none of this on the applications. If you want to do something like this, then take it to a PM with the player or a complaint or a PM to the staff handling that specific type of whitelist application. People posting on applications is to give the applicant feedback. Not criticize non-applicants. If a part of the post does not include feedback of any kind (be it negative/neutral/positive), then do not include it. Now, on the application, Kiwi: I have recently been playing as a Security cyborg on rounds you have been playing as Warden. I haven't seen anything lacking, but also nothing exemplary in you as Security in general (since I've been often swamped with academic issues mid-round). I want to see a bit more feedback on this post about you in Security if you can get some people to talk about you. Please and thank you, it'll help in the decision making.
  4. Thread locked and moved to the archives per poster's request.
  5. Application accepted. Cause no trouble.
  6. I can get behind this. Virology should be given biohazard shutters in the same pattern as Xenobiology. http://gyazo.com/9917ebfc2386f0d2f69a6a1e0541bd1f http://gyazo.com/495fb767d343ca5c2476e379422dd5ee Only the Research Director and Head of Security have intercoms in their office. Most surely because all of the wall slots are already taken up with something else in the other offices. Removal of a mechanic in a suggestion is generally a big no if you don't have something to suggest for us to replace it. At least if I'm recalling what Sound_Scopes told me correctly.
  7. Taking all of this information into account, I am more than willing to have a talk with this player on why their actions were wrong, and to ensure they understand. If and when I see them active on the server. I'll keep this marked on my computer, and bring this complaint to their notice in the case that they do not have an account on the forums. Also, for once.... I agree with Rusty. Regardless of the round type, you are here to roleplay. Just because the round is Nuclear or Wizard does not mean that RP, player knowledge, etc. is to be forgotten post-haste in favor of winning.
  8. If this happens, then ahelp it. Meta/powergaming is against the rules.
  9. Topic moved to the appropriate subforum.
  10. I would recommend just editing your application to have a different character.
  11. Application approved. Have a nice day.
  12. This is going to sound super cheesy, but here goes: Ever since I was a little kid, all I ever wanted for Christmas was people to get along, be friends, and to be happy. (◡‿◡✿)
  13. What bothers me most about your application is the character. I mean, it seems like you intend for this character to self experiment as a Research Director, and I'm going to have to say that from a business standpoint this is a big no. Self experimenting is highly dangerous, especially when dealing with your genetic code. From a real life standpoint, messing with your genetic code isn't as simple as injecting yourself with genes, becoming a superhero, and holy shit this is awesome! It would, for starters, be very unstable because if even the slightest thing goes wrong with your genetic coding, then you will be suffering the consequences for it. As such, a Geneticist that self-experiments would not be given the chance to become a head of staff because their mental and physical health would seriously come into consideration. Not to mention that it sets a terrible example to other Geneticists, telling them "Hey, my boss self experiments and he got promoted. I should try the same." And Nanotrasen would not want this mentality spreading around when Geneticists have other, safer ways to experiment genetic coding without signing a waiver to self experiment (it's called protohumans and RP).
  14. Application denied after much consideration between staff. Please try applying again in the future, and I wish you luck with it. If you have questions about this decision, then feel free to PM Dea Tacita and myself by marking us both down on the receivers of the PM.

  18. Just a note: IPCs are entirely immune to pain. Being hit by a taser doesn't knock you down, and instead applies fire damage. You said that tasers supposedly down them in one hit, but they don't.
  19. And if that happens, then you ahelp it post-haste. Security officer charging at three nuclear operatives and stunning all of them with just a baton? Not a sane character (because you need to value your own existence too, guys, c'mon, your character does /not/ know that they're expendable pixels) and powergaming; against the rules.
  20. Is this a legitimate concern? I don't see where you are going with this.
  21. Lemme just chime in to a few points here, please. I may not have played in the round, but I can still offer logic and reasoning behind some of the things said, and some information on a couple of questions that you seemed to have concerning the bartender and assistants and an N2O canister. Yes because engineers have the know-how to replace the power cell of an APC in order to keep their equipment running. Lets not use sexual references. Keep things strictly PG-13. Having a weapon charger is pretty suspicious if it's in a department that shouldn't have one. Just like having a security camera computer outside of sec or bridge, having an ID computer outside of bridge/sec checkpoint, etc. is terribly suspicious and most surely illegal because it can fall under sabotage. Maybe not mutiny, but having those three things can definitely fall under sabotage or even grand sabotage if they were built without head approval. In a situation like this, the Bartender and Assistants fall under the Civilian department. If a Civilian is unable to go to his department for X or Y legit reason (such as said room being blown up or bolted under Central orders), then they should report to another Civilian sub-department such as Hydroponics, Cargo, Kitchen, and the Janitor's closet. Even though our rules state that killing isn't preferred, an antagonist can kill another player so long as it isn't gank. Gank is defined as killing them without RP by, for example, parapenning them and then e-swording them to death as soon as they drop and then spacing the corpse. But doing something such as trapping them in a fire closet, interrogating them for information they might have, and then telling them why you're going to kill them before committing the deed would not fall under gank. This is one of the reasons as to why people that have been cloned do not remember anything that happened in the, roughly, last thirty minutes before dying. Parapen, they're still unaware, they drop, drag them to the closet, interrogation, explanation, and kill; roughly thirty minutes. Bucklecuffing someone to a bed is not okay. You should only expect to be bucklecuffed to a bed while the officer is stripping you of your gear and setting the timer (and they /must/ unbuckle and uncuff you after that) or if you've been repeatedly trying to escape in the small cells. If they leave you bucklecuffed for, say theft, then you should ahelp that if staff haven't noticed, and we'll notify the officer to kindly uncuff you. This seems like RP? Just for information's sake, there is an N2O canister next to the ID locked lockers by the permawing. This canister, I believe, is connected to an injector inside the permawing (but not the bedroom in the permawing) in order to inject sleeping gas into the room to knock out people in the case of a small riot or Security needing to enter the room while the prisoners violent. From inside the permawing you can't see the canister, but on your way to it you can.
  22. This, but make sure you bring it up on the suggestions board. Bringing up in an ahelp to Sound_Scopes or Skull132 on the server what should be implemented, will more than likely end in being linked to the suggestions board because ahelps are not for suggesting mechanics to them.
  23. Replacing Serenity on the application would work just fine.
  24. There is no degrees of disrespecting staff. Heck, there's no degrees of disrespect in general. Disrespect is disrespect no matter what was said.
