Vittorio Giurifiglio: The New order
TishinaStalker replied to Vittorio Giurifiglio's topic in Completed Items
As long as it's a jacket (exosuit slot), I believe it would be fine as long as Vittorio doesn't go "HEIL SOL" every single shift, and forgets his sensitivity training because of it. In short, don't let this go to your head. I believe you have the ability of playing a speciest character, but not letting it get to stupid proportions. Don't let more things to help solidify that ruin it. -

Vittorio Giurifiglio: The New order
TishinaStalker replied to Vittorio Giurifiglio's topic in Completed Items
Hi! Here to pitch in my opinion. I can only really give my support to the armband and fez. I'd have to say a firm no on the uniform and banner. No to the uniform because NT provides you a jumpsuit for a reason. One can only assume that NT has a dress code that they expect you to follow. Departments that should always follow this policy are the command and security staff because they are the most important crewmembers that need to be recognized. In fact, if you don't want the jumpsuit , you generally have different uniforms in your locker that should be used. I can see getting leeway for jackets, hats , shoes, armbands, and gloves, but not for uniforms and most certainly not for you to bring a massive banner to show your political hardheadedness in a station with different species. Plus... Why the heck would you bring a banner to work ...? -
I try to RP that the stuff being made in RD isn't something common knowledge (like the Lawgiver for example) so that I can, you know, create RP for most of Science. Then, suddenly, everybody and their mothers are weapon experts. You have Botany and Security talking about Lawgivers on the public channel, and scientists looking at you like you're some sort of idiot for IC'ly thinking that it's new, cutting edge technology. So I get laughed at (because it's sort of difficult to conduct research and make RP with things that everybody already knows about in Science), and then quit Science (as to why Lunea Discata is now a Chemist). One time I had an RD laugh at me for the paperwork I was submitting concerning how the Advanced Energy Gun was made, what was used, what it can do, what I think it can do, what could go wrong, and then later that same round "Make more of those for Security. Now." I said no because, you know, it's using an experimental mini nuclear reactor, and then I get brigged for Failure to Execute an Order. TL;DR: If somebody's trying to RP that something is just being made... Don't be a dick and tell them to stop being an idiot when they're trying to make RP as long as it's something that makes sense like AEGs or the things in the Bluespace / Illegal Items trees. Edit: Same thing has happened to me with xenoarcheology with a claymore. Tried to spin it off as a sword from an alien civilization. Nope, the 16th century Scottish somehow got on the asteroid.

It got sunk because the only thing people were suggesting were new clothes or different color jumpsuits. Nanotrasen provides you a uniform because it's how you are identified by your department. It's not casual Friday all day every day, and people were wanting turtlenecks, wedding dresses, etc. making the thread get ridiculous.

I'm sorry, but lemme just state this here and now. You guys are never going to get more telecrystals for telescience at game start. Tenenza over here is right. You are being paid to do research, not be somebody's personal teleporter. The only reason you could possibly want this to be implemented is for the OOC knowledge that you know shit goes down every round because of antags. I don't care if you have a character that would want to commit suicide if they feel unable to help someone (which has happened before in both Medical and Telescience). As a matter of fact, the teleporter shouldn't even be outfitted with additional telecrystals without the RD knowing. Why? Because it'll give you access to the whole station. Most scientists and RDs are aware of what can be done with certain amount of telecrystals, which means you can't just spin off "But they don't know what more crystals would do!" Being emergency evacuation/item delivery service is not your job, and you shouldn't be trying to make it your job. TL;DR: Not a rant or any anger. Just stating why this is never going to happen. The fact that it takes 50 or 60 minutes to set up is because you shouldn't be making this your job in the first place.

Garen, guys. Garen is easy to get fed, can only really be stopped by Darius/Teemo, and a fed Garen can dive into a 4v1 then kill the ADC before leaving if he's smart. Season 4 Bronze was hilarious imo. Everybody was all like "JAX IS KING. JAX IS LOVE. JAX IS LIFE." I never banned Jax, and always picked Garen as soon as he was picked because Jax cannot fight Garen once Garen hits level 3.

Yeah, I'm not really one to say "no", and then not give a reason. Going back on my wording, I feel like I came off a bit harsh, but that's because I'm really blunt with my reasons, and I'm sorry about that. Now, though, I really think the only reason heads say that is because, y'know, we're just normal people playing a corporate RP game. In real life, the heads of staff would probably tell you to quite literally "fuck off", but our players are more likely to just go "Yeah, sure" with the OOC knowledge that telesci is extremely helpful. Get me?
-
No. Just no. Here's why: Custom items are not supposed to give you an edge in-game. Having a map of the entire station's everything is sort of meta/powergaming? You can use telesci to rob the vault, armory, etc. Tell me, does your average worker have an entire map and knowledge of their corporate's building? No because that's sensitive information. That's captain/head of staff/possibly engineering knowledge only. There's literally a reason as to /why/ telescience is restricted to the department. NT doesn't want you making off with sensitive things like, you know, the vault???? Custom items are not supposed to give you an edge in-game. You're really talking about how you "deserve it", but there's literally a reason as to why telescience takes almost an hour to set up completely. What's that reason? You have free access to all items on the entire station if you know what you are doing (which you just clearly showed that you know what you're doing). Lets not forget to mention that this sort of takes conflict out? You can use this to save hostages for example or capture an antagonist. This being a really shitty thing to do which has been done before. Custom items are not supposed to give you an edge in-game.

I work at a reception desk in my college's dorms. All people of the opposite gender (or identify as the opposite gender) and non-enrolled adults visiting need to go through me first, they call the person they're visiting and put them on the phone to me or the person being visited comes down themselves to tell me, turn in their student ID (or license if a non-enrolled adult/parent) for me to file in the binder. If they refuse, then I need to make sure they stay in the lobby. If they don't comply, then I am able to fine students $5 the first time, $5 more to the total amount every time after that. If it's an adult, then I need to tell them to stop and stay in the lobby. If they ignore me, then I ask them to leave. If they refuse to leave, then I call campus security while staying between them and the door. If they get violent, well... I'm sorta screwed because it's a weapons free campus, and I'm a pacifist so I have security on speed dial (because people have tried getting violent while I've worked here and I just can't swing even to defend myself because I hurt someone badly the last time I fought, and do not want to repeat it). I only say sorta because I have training in grapple submissions for self defense purposes. Since I don't have the will to hurt people, I just bring them to the floor instead as safely as I can, and hold them there until security arrives. Regardless, I'm not allowed to do that until they swing first, and with how shit goes on in the world now-a-days you never know what people might use to swing since people aren't rational when they're mad. Entry is not guaranteed.

Lord Fowl's Dionaea Whitelist
TishinaStalker replied to LordFowl's topic in Whitelist Applications Archives
I love the backstory.I have a single issue with your application, and that is the name. Our server prohibits referential names, and your name is a highly referential name to popular joke amongst the Fallout community. The image that was first posted is an ink blot that's part of a test that you need to take at the start of New Vegas. The staff noticed it looked like two bears high fiveing, and named an NPC exactly that in a DLC. I'm not going to support your referential name, and I highly suggest changing it in your application because it won't fly on the server. If its changed , you get my +1 as I believe you are a good roleplayer, and someone that sticks to his guns when it comes to consisten good RP. -
So , like, some sort of indentured servitude?

Just saying... Sue is like Caligula with her motto "Let them hate us, so long as they fear us." I'm pretty sure everybody is scared of being hunted by Ana Issek, so Sue doesn't really care about what everyone else thinks.

Okay, Chaz, lets stop right there for two minutes. I don't know if this is what you intended or if you just picked terrible words to express yourself, but you are literally saying that you are disappointed in all staff. I don't see how you can possible be disappointed in every single one of us (because that is exactly what your words are expressing) if there's staff that couldn't do anything (Incog & lele) or straight up didn't even know about the situation until it was too late (such as myself and probably Valkrae and/or Doomberg). I assure you that if I had been aware of the situation, and had, had the chance to stop the member of staff, then we probably wouldn't be having this thread in the first place. I'd suggest looking over your words because you're putting all of us in a bad light for the actions of one person.

Dea already said that the dufflebags are for a different style of backpack. Not to give any bonuses whatsoever because that defeats the purpose of having it to start with. I assure you that if we go with those changes, then everybody will dogpile them at the start of every round and that becomes a problem. TLDR: just for looks.

Yeah, no, I'm not arguing tape with you. I'll just handle it IC'ly every time it happens. The thing is that it's sort of doesn't work like that with firelocks? Every nuke and heist round the glass hallway in Eva maintenance gets broken and nobody knows that hall is breached at a glance. Why? Because they have no firelocks. Engineer griefers? Break a single wall in maintenance and nobody knows that hall is breached. Why ? Because they have no firelocks. Hell, any antag with Eva capabilities does that as a matter of fact to get in and out. If it's a maintenance tunnel that's breached but no other adjacent room, there is no firelocks or tape. There is a perfect IC and OOC reason to implement it.
-
Except that failure to put up engineering tape (literally take something out of your pocket and click the door and DONE) is neglect of duty; serious neglect of duty if someone opens the door. Let's also not forget new arrivals. How do YOU expect them to know? It's extremely common for someone to join mid-round, and their department doesn't tell them squat. Wanna know the last three times I opened a door to a breached tunnel? Being a new arriving officer, and using he maintanance tunnel, not knowing it was breached because I JUST arrived, engineering deciding NOT to put up tape, and then everybody calling me a retarded redshirt both in IC and LOOC. Not putting tape up is endangering lives, man, and you're trying to SAVE those lives. If you know you can do you job properly, but choose not to, then that's fine by me. I'll arrest you all the same for the charges I said above after the crisis. I always forgive players that I know did it as a mistake because often breached are in places with a firelock. Anyone opening those get exactly what's coming to them. If you don't take even the three seconds it takes to put tape, then you should change that because aside from somebody saying a tunnel is breached on the radio, there is NOTHING else telling people that the tunnel is breached if it hasn't spread. And don't get me started in operatives that break tcomm and then tunnels. Or all of the other things that can happen to stop your announcement from being heard. Ever seen a crime scene without tape? Ever seen men working on the road without tape or traffic cones set up in their perimeter? No because these things naturally tell you "Do not pass. Sensitive work going on"
-
As someone who plays security often, I generally have to go into maintenance tunnel. The issue with that is that if a tunnel is breached, then. Engineering generally (not going to say all because that would be a lie) does one of two things: 1) Doesn't announce the breach. 2) They do not put engineering tape up while working on the breach. Rarely, both happen. I'm not saying all of engineering is incompetent. I mean , we're all most surely not even working in a field were interested in irl so it's normal for fuck ups like that. The issue win this is that since there is no way of telling if maintenance is breached or not, means that security or medical or other personnel will open the tunnel, spread the breach without knowing, and then all of engineering berates the person calling them idiots by shunting the blame on them on the unknowing personnel. I can understand not wanting to give maintenance tunnels, but some form of warning for a maintenance tunnel would work wonders. I assure you that if a tunnel is breached, then it's almost certain that it will be spread. Whether it's because engineering forgot to put tape or because somebody forgot where the announced breach was while not having a way of knowing, etc. I think Raven's idea is logically sound both OOC'ly and IC'ly because OOC'ly it prevents this, and IC'ly it's a serious health and safety violation for a room to not have any form of automatic indication that it is breached or on fire. I assure you whatever Sol Gov department handles safety inspections would have a field day with the Aurora.

Return Security Cells to their former Voyeur glory.

I wouldn't want to fuck with Sue. When Sue first heard of the live autopsy, she gave Drew and I a forty minute discourse of how to properly conduct an autopsy, starting with how to remove every single organ from the cadaver. -
Pretty sure that the point is to have something other than a backpack or satchel, man. Not for more size because otherwise EVERYBODY will dog pile them.
