1. Grenade shoots up, falls back down on your head because they fall down ladder wells. Explodes under you.
2. Imagine if your mech actually had a functional co-pilot that could help (or hinder) you while you pilot. Now put that in practice, and see how terribly it might go, but still giving it a chance could make mechs a lot more powerful with a functioning duo. Two people working in tandem could be a dangerous combination for the station, or the antagonists. However, I know this is unlikely, so I have an alternative. Instead, add a co-pilot seat that allows this, and have normal passenger seats stay as-is where you're only along for the ride.
3. If you want to give Detective something but their current revolver, there's a detective m1911 in-code. It should have the same mechanics as the revolver naming, but be a .45 pistol, but at the same time I haven't tested it myself.
4. Secret without Extended is no longer a Secret. It becomes Valid. It becomes "We know there is an antag OOCly so we must be prepared." Without the possibility of Extended being there, Secret is no Secret, just Random Antag.
5. Maybe make it so the distress beacon has no requirement for Head of Staff, but is in EVA/on the roof so only someone who is EVA trained or in a very dire situation can use it?
6. The problem is that PDAing on the asteroid is much more dangerous/distracting than using a radio, and holocomms aren't exactly viable on the rock.
7. You aren't playing a human so you get footgib meme'd by le ebic revolutionary with a plasteel spear.
8. It would work a lot like a shotgun, being a tube-fed lever-action rifle. It's meant to be similar to a Henry or a Winchester.
9. This is a suggestion to allow non-humans to be able to wear the armored arm/foot guards by default. It honestly doesn't make sense that these would be species restricted to humans when there already exists species-universal footwear like Magboots. Make it so at least the boots are universal in this sense, the gauntlets are able to be wirecutter snipped, though I'd prefer both be updated.
10. I would love for it to be able to fire .38, it'd make it even more useful and even open the potential for non-lethal takedowns.
11. That's fair. Dropping it down to 8 would make it pretty much a combat shotgun but it takes .357 instead. That, and considering how often ballistic helmets/vest (And now arm/leg armor) eats bullets without doing any damage to the user, I'd say 10 is a good number.
12. Due to the caliber, I would limit it to 10. Three more than the traitor revolver, making it favorable over buying it with vault TC, but not enough to make it last an entire firefight. That, and it has to be loaded by hand, and not with a speed loader.
13. I resurrect this thread with a new-and-improved lever-action rifle sprite. Enjoy.
14. Just a quick question for @kyres1 but are the ballistic boots/gloves universal or are they like the ones in the armory where you have to snip the gloves and non-humans absolutely can't wear the boots?
15. BYOND Key: DronzTheWolf Total Ban Length: One Week Banning staff member's Key: ReadThisNamePlz Reason of Ban: As a shaft miner, you engaged three heavily armed raiders and ended up suicide bombing them with a weldertank. If they'd shot first, this would be different, but you shot them first. Not only did you validhunt them heavily, you also ruined the round for the raiders and shut down their gimmick. Don't do this in the future, it'll lead to a permanent ban. You can appeal this on the forums. Reason for Appeal: I actually didn't mean to shoot the raiders themselves, I meant to fruitlessly fire in their general direction of the one who had taken my materials box, but one walked into the place I had clicked and it ended up hitting them and causing the aggression. While I did, in my death throes, shoot the welding fuel tank they were carrying around with them, it was because I was already dying. That doesn't excuse my actions, but due to the fact that I did not intend to hit them I think the ban time should be shortened. I undeniably did bad when I decided that bombing them as opposed to just dying quietly was a good idea, but I wasn't trying to validhunt as much as express frustration.
16. They made a regulation just for this, actually.
17. Then the concept lives on, albeit a bit convoluted.
18. After thinking over this issue, I've come to a conclusion. I don't quite feel like abandoning this yet, so if I can't make it useful through one means, I'll make it useful through another. Maybe have it be armor-piercing, or do increased damage to organs. Maybe just an increased %chance to do organ damage.
19. As of now, there are specialized frames that Science cannot create. The Long Frame, Ultra-Heavy, etc.. I think that adding the ability for Science to make these specialized frames would increase the ability for Science to make these frames for miners, and allow miners to have extra customization in order to formulate their ideal personal frame.
20. On a station such as this, standard duties consist of either patrolling the halls, or sitting at a camera monitor. To have them be identifiable but not in a uniform as some jackbooted, nameless corporate thug would mean that they are easily approachable and easier to confide in with troubling things such as witnessed crime and personal threats.
21. I agree, infact I think Security uniforms should be optional outside of "Wear at least one thing to identify you as security, and it must be visible." with the exception being Detective and Forensic Technician. They should be allowed to be completely out of uniform.
22. I like it. It goes in-line with the lore, has a genuine feeling about it, and it will definitely make a great addition to the server. +1
23. All of them broke when I tried editing it so I'll post them again here. I hate the new forums. Notice how for some reason the second one is notably darker? The forums is the only place that does that. It's weird.
24. BYOND Key: DronzTheWolf Character name: Aavs Guwan Item name: Reflective Mask Why is your character carrying said item to work?
Aavs believes nobody should need to set eyes on a Guwan, so whenever he goes out in public, he tries to cover himself as much as possible. The reason he created this mask is that the reflective surface will make people try not to stare, or so he thought. He's bringing this to work because he wants to cover his shameful state of being, and he doesn't feel like wearing a gas mask or whatever else he can findlaying around is comfortable for Security. Item function(s): It will fit on the helmet slot, and cover the eye/mask slot so you'd have to take it off to put on a mask/glasses/goggles. It will not have any armor or resistances, and it cannot be used to toggle internals. Item description: This odd mask and hood combination covers the wearer, and seems to be made of a one-way dome mirror and some old cloth or rope. Item appearance: (I have no idea why but the second sprite doesn't want to send right.)
How will you use this to better interact with crew and/or stimulate RP? So far, nobody has asked Aavs to take off any of the masks he wears, or asked him why he covers up at all. This leads him to believe that it's perfectly okay to wear this sort of thing, when really it just makes him seem like an odd one out. Additional comments: I'm not sure what our policy on helmets/masks are for custom items for on-station characters. One could probably argue that this could be used to make me an 'unknown' since it can hide looks and therefore it's an unfair advantage, but then again so can grabbing a fake mustache from the arcade or the stage.
