  1. This sounds like an IC issue, regardless.
  2. If antag tokens aren't implemented for the specific purpose of allowing administrators only to dispense them as they see fit, I am not okay with antag tokens being implemented. On other servers, antag tokens are single-use guarantees to make up for having been dealt a very shit hand in a round either as an antagonist or a non antagonist. I.e., being ganked, etc. It is an awful idea to make the system to give the player more control when and where they can be an antagonist outside of having a habit of getting bombed by griefers or ganked, etc. Either make antag tokens a redeemable voucher or not at all.
  3. "i never report when people trample over crime scenes when they happen, csi is literally unplayable"
  4. The basis for the recent mapping changes, according to Juani, was put forth to the respective security and medical discords. Not the forums, not the main discord, but unofficial discords that don't even comprise a fraction of the playerbase of their respective departments. I feel like this was an incredibly irresponsible and poorly thought out thing to do. This is why we don't listen to the community. wait...
  5. Revert. I've tried working out ways to figure out how to centralize two entrances from either ends like from before, but they simply didn't work out because too many walls would need to be knocked down just to allow for a more streamlined emergency entrance. You can even take 'shortcuts' as of now but they pretty much still cover the same distance from going all the way into maintenance and upward towards cryogenics, and similarly if you looped upward, to the right and downward again through the lobby towards cryogenics. I'm not even sure as to why the decision to move the main entrance from the main ring, arguably more populated then the hallway towards the bridge, ever got sent through. The current path into medical from the halls is absurdly time-consuming, and the current medical mapping is just flat out broken. It is actually stupid medical was changed like this, the previous map was just fine for its intended purpose. What was missing that needed medical to change? This is exactly why the devs need to be more proactive in engaging in prior discussion with people to gauge feedback and also get them to agree to these massive sweeping changes. I will never stop being a critic as long as these deliberately bad decisions and relatively low QA testing are still a problem.
  6. If you mean in the absence of any command staff sure but there is zero precedence for upholding an officer signing his own search or arrest warrant and executing it. That would be very strange. This is jackboot-speak for, "nobody's done this before, ever, because it's so absurd in and of itself." Security has a job, and that's protecting the property, interests and personnel of the company. If there's no command to guide them during dead hour rounds, they shouldn't be jumping to exercise their power without a really, really good reason. Warrants cannot be authorized without a head of security. It is dubious even then just to allow the warden to do it, as warrants are generally up to command.
  7. Defrauding is deliberately fooling someone into giving you their money if they didn't explicitly consent to the reason the money handoff is being used for. It's criminal deception intended for financial gain, but fraud is not defined as forcibly taking someone's property, such as the two cases of theft are. It is a far different intent than from petty theft or grand theft.
  8. I think that if you are a wizard, you should be from the Wizard Federation. Full stop. To say that it's limiting sounds more like a personal problem and not an accurate representation of what you can do as a wizard.
  9. Well, do this, or I won't support it, Kaed.
  10. You don't have macros set up for the dog yet? Noobs. The dog is powerful enough that you shouldn't be able to rapidly type up the dog's name to attack someone. I do not think his name should be changed for these reasons.
  11. I've said it before and I'll say it again. I don't want to step on the lore-dev's toes, but the lore itself just isn't that interesting for players to read, and it's been like that for years. I really personally think the lore has to be better implemented into the server itself to provide players better incentive to read it and follow along, but that's a suggestion for another place. In regards to the community, I can't point out too many obvious issues at the moment. I have noticed an increased demand of antagonists, but that's less of an actual issue and something I personally don't like all the time, haha. Finally, while I have noticed drama, that sort of stuff is unavoidable in some form or fashion in a place like Aurora and like I said, mostly the server is friendly, of course you do have times where drama and such happens). If I had my way, we'd all hold hands and sing songs around the campfire but unfortunately we can't do that. Have you considered addressing these concerns with the actual lore developers? Or have you not actually done this as of recent? I ask this because this is effectively an unsaid expectation of staff to do so internally rather than out in the open. It's at the very least bombastic and hilarious to air dirty laundry or grievances out in the open because it's always entertaining to see a different opinion than your own, but you must understand that if you actually give a damn about the issue, you should be bringing it up to the appropriate individuals who handle this sort of thing. You can't expect to have a conversation regarding issues pertaining to the game or the meta part of it without understanding, "Oh, I should probably talk to the appropriate person about this if I actually care enough about the issue to have something come of it in the near future." And yes, this is certainly something moderators or even admins should be expected to deal with. The meta irony just comes full circle, around and around. Furthermore, you should probably dispense with the hope that your job should ideally be cushy and everyone be enforced to be nice to each other. Tolerance is only going to so far for some people, given the wide variety of people that log onto the server. Chaos is the natural element of the game and it's a spectacle of its own when people yell at each other either ICly or OOCly. It is okay for inconsequential conflict between characters and players to occur (this is not to say people can, for the sake of an example, call each other faggots for, honestly, any reason). People are different and the clashing is inevitable. The important thing is that people learn from their misgivings rather than be forced to never have any misgivings. It makes us all grow as better players when we allow a little struggle session here or there. Nobody learns anything from indoctrinated attitudes. Embrace the drama, even, you might learn something on top of enjoying it. In terms of candidates, I like never-been-staff-before candidates better than any of the Old Guard. It provides a different flavor of personality into the staff that hasn't necessarily been seen before. Having known you long enough around the bend here, I would say you're pretty predictable and the last time you were a moderator, as I can recall, you weren't very active in involvement, as opposed to being active for the sake of logging onto the server. In my mind, for some time up until your resignation, you struck me as a very ineffectual moderator who was only still present because they didn't really feel like stepping down yet and the title just seemed nice to have. Can you make any guarantees that periodic inactivity or generally just lacking the will to contribute as a staff member won't be an issue again?
  12. According to admin staff, they will force the game mode to secret after the lobby deliberately votes a game mode that will not go through, more than twice. Don't use the vote system as a form of grief. If there's no chance in hell that people will vote it for the first time, just be an adult and vote something else so that this shit doesn't need to happen.
  13. Very little. It is very inconsequential what occurs over the course of an antagonist round. Player-generated requests, if reasonable, can be fulfilled if the aforementioned CCIA staff feel up to entertaining it. I don't feel like we should be kneejerking against CCIA being more relevant in the grand scheme of the game. Adding an occasional appearance from time to time should allow them a bit more obvious presence within the game so that people don't think they're only situationally useful.
  14. I think it's still important to not immediately dismiss concerns regarding the intent of the individuals that put in the secret chemicals into the game. As there's an elixir of life kind of chemical in the game, then the question should not be, "Should we allow this to be common knowledge" but rather, "Should this even be in the game?" We also need to ask why that type of chemical is being put into the game if it deliberately upsets the typical path you would normally take to achieve a certain gameplay result, such as reviving someone from the dead. There's also Azoth which heals organs and bones instantaneously. Quite redundant considering how easy it is to fix both normally, but add into the equation that a chemical is able to do this, and now having surgeons as an occupation is just utterly laughable. Like, I don't see the point of adding secret chemicals to the game that cause this degree of gamebreaking behavior that will completely flip the game flow on its head as soon as someone figures it out. The devs could easily change it as soon as it's discovered, too, but then we're just unnecessarily resetting the cycle? For what purpose? This would quite literally be the definition of insanity; doing the same thing over and over again expecting different results. It's gatekeeping. It is deliberate and malicious gatekeeping.
  15. I never really thought that the secret chemicals thing was ever really a good idea (largely because I don't think information should ever be deliberately hidden from a player), but the compromise should be that there should be an actual system of hints in the game somewhere that might help you actually figure out what the chemicals are short of deliberately testing every possible combination. Since I don't think anyone would really want to spend round after round looking for those combinations.
  16. reported for spamming
  17. What I have told you and pretty much anyone else thus far is not to "take your problems away from here", but rather to actually report issues like these as soon as they come up. Preferably to an admin straight away as it's happening so they may take immediate action if it is a main-server issue. Including the official discord. This arguably will give you better results than if you were to hold onto this and let it bottle up for the worst amount of time. If you subscribe to a more self-centered point of view, then lemme put it this way. If you have something to solid to report and you want someone dealt with, it will benefit you way more just to report something right away because that is the right thing to do that everyone expects of you anyway, whether you do it for selfish reasons or not. It also has the neat beneficial consequence of benefiting other people of not getting clued into your business. You don't need to get along with pla, just try not to make it everyone's business, please. Avoiding pettiness is just bonus points.
  18. I'm here because PLA has been, since a singular issue on the ISD sever, pestering me, making false accusations against me and making implications about my relations to staff and other players. I have very little to do with the others here other than this revolving around PLA. Whatever your issue is with my specific complaint, could you please point it out? I'm holding you all accountable, personally. I don't care who did whatever-the-fuck. It needs to stop now.
  19. Can I say something? Hopefully it won't get deleted if I conduct it in a serious and semi-respectful manner... ha.... First off, posting negative criticism on any of the community mediums regarding any member of this community is not cyberbullying. Nor is it, in the context of this discussion, illegal 'in your country', you are full of it. In that case, there are specific conditions your government looks for and there is zero evidence the government would use to testify. Especially since plahunter is American and the US hasn't gone complete 1984 yet and there are jurisdiction issues in spite of this. Do not expect your nuances of government to do anything about this issue and try to skew other people's moral compass by claiming a harmless (i.e., do you feel like your life is being threatened by these comments or are you delusional) action is 'illegal' in another country. It is ridiculous. Next point. Negative criticism regarding any specific community member or their characters is not harassment. By the great will of God are you now able to breathe air and use brain power to use a computer or a home in a safe sheltered environment to try and make an open complaint regarding another player who slighted you because they do not agree with how you conduct yourself OOCly or ICly. There is a biting irony to be testifying - while on a public forum - against someone using their freedom to express ideas without stalking or telling other people to kill themselves unironically. Next point. This is goddamn sad. That is all I will say. Next point. If you guys can't be assed to report these smaller incidents as they pop up, then you are telling me one or more of these few things: 1.) You don't actually care. 2.) You don't think you have evidence. 3.) You want to drop some huge Nanako-tier complaint bomb on someone because you're really angry about some other person that you don't like existing in this community, so you'll put off due process for putting forward a massive amount of 'evidence' accrued over several months to try and prove a point. 4.) You think the staff are corrupt, out to get you and won't handle any of your concerns about anything, ever. 5.) You think the issue will be seen as so minor that it won't be handled the way you want it in spite of your irrational hatred of the person you're complaining about. What this complaint is also telling me is that there's a fucking human centipede amalgamation of a grudge. There are so many grudges that exist between the few people that are complaining about each other. E.g., Plahunter, HunterRS, Lilium, Xander, Amory, etc. You all legit need to grow up. By engaging in these gagefights you are actively making a toxic server environment for everyone else. You didn't think of that, did you? Do you guys even care about how the rest of the community sees you, and do you guys even care about acting civil? Or do you guys just want to continue perpetuating this selfish high school drama? Legit, this shouldn't be anyone's business at all. But when you shit up the public discord, or OOC, or VC, at the worst times with your asinine, tiny-ass issues that you're intent on blowing so far out of proportion that it gets, for example, my attention, you guys are fucking up big time. Call me a bully. I don't give a fuck. I reserve the right to call you out if you're being an asshole to other people. I'm fucking tired of the lot of you regardless of what side you're on. You actively perpetuate drama and one of you literally cries when it bites you back in the ass. If you guys can't learn to tolerate each other then honestly I'd like to see you all forced away from the server. It would benefit more people if this stopped. I don't care how. But it needs to fucking stop.
  20. Withdrawing opposition, then. Remaining neutral on the matter.
  21. Largely in your interactions with plahunter and sdt.
  22. Aside from four months ago? They've gotten significantly less "chill" since then. Generally speaking, they're less than amicable to certain forms of criticism and it's difficult to hold a discussion with them on a serious subject and it usually tends to get heated.
  23. Opposed. There are certain aspects to the applicant's personal character that would not make them well suited to the stresses of moderation/administration staff.
  24. I was mistaken then, as I merely meant a criminal that was not a felon. There is absolutely no need for the hostility. Calling you on spreading false information because you were seeking to prove your point is hardly egregious hostility, unless it really offended you that much. Why'd you even bring it up, then? Out of curiosity, what do you seek to accomplish with silly questions that have already been answered? https://forums.aurorastation.org/viewtopic.php?f=18&t=10624#p94580 https://forums.aurorastation.org/viewtopic.php?f=18&t=10624&start=30#p96155 I mean, really, we've already had insightful comments such as "scientists don't really research phoron at all" coming from someone who doesn't play science. At this point there really are no stupid questions. If your points against the status quo are that you personally don't like the status quo and want a change of flavor; Then that is just Tough, because until the development team decides upon a proper map rotation in the near future, it is very unlikely the current formula will change much. No point fixing something that isn't broken.
  25. Fortunately, I save the logs sometimes. -snip- If you could show the whole log, we would be able to see that we were taking about MY RECORDS (cause I had a previous sexual harrassment charge, related to Lilium) But again, then why did Rylee come to my Cell to tell me that she was sorry if any of that was her fault? How is this dude not permabanned from the server Seriously, I've encountered this character countless (okay more like 4-5) times before and I am pretty sure I've had them personally demoted and stripped of authority like three times now. Unless they keep wiping their own security records, I don't understand how the player doesn't really recognize what's wrong with their play yet. At this point I don't really care, I think he would be better off forced not to play this server.
