Regulations state this: "have directly witnessed a crime taking place, or feel there is a real and imminent danger to the safety of crew and/or station." < this is probable cause. For the part about code blue, that post specifically applies to workspaces and heads of staff. You must provide probable cause to a head of staff to search them or their department in code blue - and they have the authority to refuse it. Context for what you are trying to use is important.

Security doesn't search anyone they come in contact with. Searches work similar to arrests on Aurora. You need a warrant on code green and you need a probable cause on code blue in order to search someone. Just to correct you, Security can search you in code green with probable cause w/o a warrant. On Code Blue, random searches with no probable cause are permitted and advised.

When I suggested this everyone hated the idea... Glad someone else suggested it so it could be liked. Yes please!!! -
I really want to stop seeing sol uniforms on board. And I'm going to -1 this because of that - it just doesn't make sense to me.

This won't reliably help, I wouldn't think. The issue is DreamSeeker (the program you use to play the game) getting stuck in an infinite loop, or outright crashing, whenever too much new map data is sent. So, whenever you jump views, swap Zs, etcetera, you run the risk of triggering said crash. It used to exist before as well, on the Exodus even, it just wasn't as exacerbated. The solution proposed wouldn't really minimize the amount of data nor the size of the delta required to update what you see. As far as fixes go, 512 appears to have solved the issue, as far as my testing indicates. However, this requires that both the client and server be bumped, and since 512 has a recent history of really crippling issues, we're holding off for now. No real windows, because this shit runs on Lummox time, but maybe in March/April? We'll seee. So what you're saying is that we should totally get two more AIs to support the sublevel and surface level and have each AI sectioned off to a specific level only? ;D

1. You are not expected to have multiple incredibly insane people. We have psychological examination as a requirement for employment. 2. We have an electropack, don't torture your damn patients PLEASE. 3. Security would just end up using these to contain lings and such. -

Staff Decision: Multiple jobs - Job hopping - Realism vs Gameplay

plz add species information in an addendum so I don't need to PM four different loredevs. -
Dev Team are volunteers. If no devs want to do something, it doesn't matter if every single other community member does want it - it won't happen unless a Dev decides to do something they don't want to. I think that's what Fowl meant.

Security and Medical cyborgs already have huds, additionally - having them be able to wirelessly connect to all three records would make them an incredible security breach waiting to happen. I'm against.

I like this idea, I've long supported the idea of outright removing ERT because it brings in an external factor to steamroll the antags out , which ruins any interaction of antags between the crew because antags now must focus on the angry ghosts of their victims in paramilitary gear. This is a good middle ground. +1

Retain The Head of Personnel's Ancient Claims Over Janitoria
Azande replied to a topic in Completed Projects
I don't see why anyone cares. As Head of Personnel, I've never had to tell a janitor to clean a mess - it's their job to clean messes, telling someone to just do their most basic job is done. Anyone can call out the location of a mess, it absolutely is irrelevant which Head of Staff they fall under because in the end, neither Head will have much to direct them on and the only responsibility shift will be signing for them if they request a transfer or promotion. This also adds the possibility of janitor characters working up the chain to become a maintenance technician, something I think is cool. -

Lore University Project - Submit Here!!!!!!!!

I don't know how universities work elsewhere, but in Canada very few universities specialize for only one single thing - and while they have major programs that are their most popular, they still offer a full suite of other programs. -

Weren't you Hunter Robinson, aka the guy that made like a recording of you crying begging to be unbanned or something...? Weren't you also couldn't appeal...? I'm all for second chances however.

I was the Captain at the time, and I ordered Security to vent departures on you. My idea was that depressurizing the room would cause you to fly out and/or drop your button, at which point security could engage you more safely. The crew in the area outright refused to move away from the area - in normal fashion they REFUSE to not board a transfer and were just waiting to get by you. Obviously the plan did not work, you did not get knocked over (at least to the extent I hoped), and you were able to detonate your explosive. That's my info on this from sec/command POV.

Personally, whenever I ahelp in regards to an admin or mods character, I have a concern about them discussing the incident with the handling staff in the msay/asay, both things that players can only ever see in memes and could never complain about. It's also apparently something a lot of staff do out of courtesy anyways.
-
Basically, if a staff member's character is ahelped about by another player during the round, that staff member regardless of their position should deadmin (aka, temporarily remove staff status in the current round), so the staff on feel free to discuss the ahelp and cannot be influenced by the staff member in question in the ahelp. Obviously once the ahelp is handled, they should be free to re-admin.

[Resolved] Character Complaint - Luxo Khazarazir
Azande replied to Ornias's topic in Complaints Boards Archive
In response to Munks. 1. I did not buy a weapon to join a militia, I bought a weapon to have cute little RP with a few other characters on board - as Christine has a strong desire to fit in with her colleagues and literally everyone else was buying a weapon at that time. I discharged it once while talking to a security officer to emulate the fact that Christine barely knows what a trigger is. As well, the purchase was authorized by the HoS. 2. I entered a crime scene just as it had finished being inspected. There was no evidence to support that it was a crime scene, there was no blood or damage to the area. Remember, security is only allowed to seal off areas on their own authority if there is a legitimate crime scene, I had every right to take a step in and gander at the area, and I then reported to the Captain there appeared to be no reason for the cordoning that he knew of - and then the CSI went insane megatraitorass so it didnt matter anyways. 3. You were very disrespectful to a Captain, it is not your place to make snide remarks in front of an entire department of people towards the highest authority on board. The hat is not part of a secure uniform, its a leftover trinket of code thats remain untouched for ages. Internal Affairs has no business trying to boss around how Command staff dress themselves, let alone what the captain decides to do with her clothing. Yes, I faxed Central Command, I had zero desire at all to interact with your character further and that should speak volumes about the kind of agent you’ve made them - the responding CCIA also agreed with me fully. And finally, Internal Affairs should NOT BE SOMEONE YOU HATE. This is such an old belief that needs to die - You are not here to shit on everyone, you are not here to criticize everyone on everything. You NEED to be someone crew are comfortable approaching to report shit, and you NEED to have a good relationship with characters (and their players) if you want info from them when the time comes to launch an investigation. From what I’ve seen - most of your work revolves angering Command Staff and hunting antags with lethals in code red - rather than actually focusing on handling reports and issues in round. -
[Resolved] Character Complaint - Luxo Khazarazir

No. The captain did not violate protocol. He ordered the arrest of an individual. He said 'arrest this drunk doctor'. He never told the officer to not get a warrant. Even in this fantasy you have created where captains can violate regulations at any time and people are expected to comply and worry about it later ("Kill that bartender, I don't like the way he spoke to me" "Okay, captain." *summarily executes bartender, dutifully reports it to IAA*), rather than it only being valid for critical situations . He never did anything except advise security of a neglect of duty charge and to get on it. It was on the Officer Matthews to assume that meant 'right now, who cares about regulations, because the captain said to arrest someone.' The problem is on Matthews. He needs to deal with his own poor decision-making, rather that everyone trying to divert blame every other which way except on him. CCIA's expectations are that you carry out orders given to you by the Captain, even if they are questionable, and you report them afterwards. Please refer to CCIA Notices about the Captain's authority. -

Hi. An officer must carry out an order given by their Captain, even if it breaks regulations. The fault for the issue goes to the Captain for issuing such an order, but it is both illegal and against regulations to fail to execute the orders of the individual in command of your facility. The investigation should've been targeted at the Captain rather than the officer - if anything. A drunk doctor in medical, if noted by the Captain - is neglect of duty. An officer walking in and finding the same thing the Captain did - a drunk doctor, is grounds for arrest on the spot if the Captain says it is neglect of duty. The Captain's orders are ultimate and final in all alert levels, they are carried out and reported afterwards. I find Luxo to incredibly overreach their boundaries a lot as Internal Affairs, and they are the 'asshole IAA' I was afraid we'd eventually get back similar to Terrance. -
