  1. Honestly, I disagree with this. I like to introduce myself at roundstart to security in person, and make it clear to them what my role and responsibility on board is, and that I look forward to working with them. Internal Affairs Agents cannot afford to be solo-ninja bureaucrats, this is the attitude that is killing the role - you MUST be ready to engage with Security and Command staff and make professional relationships with their characters if you are going to accomplish you IC/OOC role properly. I say continue to spawn them in the meeting room.
  2. I shall post on this in short time to outline a more concrete idea.
  3. Alright. Let's face it - The Aurora is supposed to be a science/mining station, but 90% of the time we have very little scientists (working with shitty research mechanics) and only 1-4 miners, if any (although mining seems to be picking up). My proposal, is that the station becomes a Research and Industrial station (see the change of the word mining, to industrial) and that a level of the asteroid be turned into an industrial factory like area. The idea would be that there'd be a few different machines (and jobs to go with them?) and it would be responsible for pumping out various goods to Central Command via Cargo. They could mass-produce things like shuttle parts, ikea easy to setup furniture, and whathaveyou. There could be conveyor belts involved. This department would be overseen by the quartermaster, who would become a 'Production Manager' of the sort, or it could just become its own department below the Captain/HoP led by another qm like role, but merging cargo and a factory would seem cool and flesh out a small-staffed department into something larger. Obviously if this is ever to happen, a dev would need to take interest in the idea because of the amount of coding it would require - but the server and SS13 as a whole is dying for new things, and a new department (when tf is IT coming again?) would be the perfect way to add some more spice.
  4. Notice board in the security lobby for me to post notices about spies. Thanks.
  5. a peta for xenos exists and is called PETOS (PET of Other Species) so this could work and be lore friendly.
  6. Ally has shown they are capable of writing (which lore developers do), and they already work within/under the Lore Team, serving as head of the wiki maintainers - which goes to show they are capable of working on a team and in tandem with others. I support this application.
  7. 90% of the time someone asks to be a Command Secretary, they get denied. For some reason the older map was more friendly for them, but they've since lost their luster. No thanks.
  8. No, its quite inclusive. You have no idea what you're talking about. Now onto this thread - why not add a second Head of Security?
  9. The incident I referenced about the text-child stuff was handled and reported on discord by staffs. Re: Datberry I wouldn't disagree as a Wiki Dev, I'd be fine silently approaching them and PMs (as I do now) when I have an issue with lore/regs, I've had many great talks with Whiterabit on regs. When it comes to the final implementation, I would do as I am told, it's not my place to decide what goes on the wiki.
  10. I definitely see your concern in this and understand it - Garn has a rule about me applying for staff (which is, that I can't), so I approached him about this application and he deferred me to Jackboot who then said I was free to apply. I don't know about what access to staff discords a wiki maintainer gets, if any, but my intent as a wiki maintainer would not to be to discuss lore, development, or the like, it would be to ensure the wiki is kept up to date as directed by Ally, Jackboot and the respective lore developers (although I believe they keep their special pages maintained themselves. I also have examples of staff members being belligerent when I haven't been, and even an example where a staff member shared something that boiled down to a text-description of child-sex. However, I wouldn't say either of the belligerent staff, or the latter staff member I am referring to are bad at their jobs or unfit to be staff. And I'm sure you're going to say that this is a logical fallacy, or deflection, but I believe it is not. I personally think that there are individuals who sometimes get very heated in a situation, and then calm down shortly after and that these people are genuinely decent, kind and competent individuals. My desire to join the wiki maintainers is so that I can help contribute to the server in a way that keeps me the most un-involved with other staff - because I understand that some of them and I have issues between one another, but I still want to support the server that I love and keeping the wiki edited and contributing guides seems like the easiest, least-involved way to do such.
  11. Alrighty. If you have any questions feel free to boop me here or on Discord.
  12. Oh yeah I forgot. I don't support this usurper-application on the grounds of my above message. I support Jackboots continous reign of canon-master of Aurora.
  13. Ckey/BYOND Username: XanderDox Position Being Applied For Wiki Maintainer Past Experiences/Knowledge: - Lore Canonization Manager for Aurora Lore Team (which involved me working on the wiki too) - Wiki Manager for Exogenesis (dead serber now RIP) - Moderate understanding of Mediawiki formatting (a bit rusty since I haven't touched it in awhile) Examples of Past Work: Basically the same as above. I edited a few of the pages on our wiki a while back, and maintained Exogenesis' wiki while it was around, this made me familiar with mediawiki formatting. I do not have any existing examples, except perhaps unrelated forum posts of mine which I spend hours on to ensure they look nice. Preferred Mode of Communication (Skype, Steam, etc.): - Discord Additional Comments: I want to join the Wiki Maintainers so I can help with guides (primarily IAA) and keeping things up-to-date.
  14. I don't like Jackboot that much based on experiences with him, but he's done a lot of great things for our lore and server, and while he irritates the ever-living fuck out of me sometimes, he's a great person, he's very kind - and very experienced at being our loremaster. This discussion on concerns about lore are great though.
  15. Reporting Personnel: Eleanor Shen Rank of Reporting Personnel: Captain Game ID: bSh-cpKw Personnel Involved: - Es'tana Grajahn, Station Engineer (Offender) - Charles Hall, Head of Security (Witness) - ATHENA, Station Engineer (Witness) Time of Incident: N/A Real time: 12:45-12:50 EST? Location of Incident: Surface Level Nature of Incident: [X]Workplace Hazard []Accident/Injury []Destruction of Property [X]Neglect of Duty []Harassment []Assault [X]Misconduct [X]Other: Failure to Execute Orders, Breach of Code Yellow Overview of the Incident: A crew transfer was called shortly after a level seven biohazard had been called. The biohazard was an aggressive form of plant-life that had taken over a large amount of our surface level, including the arrivals-checkpoint area (although we had stopped it from entering the docks). This plant-life had displayed itself capable of eating into our reinforced lift-walls, and could only be removed from them by welding the wall into its base component - when this was realized by our engineers (ATHENA and a cyborg), I called a code yellow, and ordered all crew to cease attempts to board the shuttle, as the risk of allowing the biohazard to spread onto the shuttle and then onto the NTCC Odin, would only cause further damage to NanoTrasen assets. The lifts (which we affected by the biohazard) we sealed while engineering continuously tried to keep the plants on them at bay from the main level. However, some crew that were on the surface fighting the biohazard, bee-lined for the shuttle, but I only know one of their names: Es'tana Grajahn. This individual, a station engineer no less, abandoned their responsibility to the station's infrastructure, and ignored direct orders to STAY AND SOLVE the issue, and to STAY FOR QUARANTINE, and hacked into the shuttle that I had the AI bolt down (to stop plants from spreading onto it). Then they said this over the public channel: [Common] Es'tana Grajahn shouts, "Let this be a lesson to you, captain!" [Common] Es'tana Grajahn says, "One cannot contain... an engineerr!" This is gross misconduct from an engineer who is meant to keep our station secure from these kinds of biohazards, and I'd overall suggest a suspension from the department. Addendum: Head of Security Hall has been marked as a witness due to being responsible for ensuring his team kept crew out of affected areas. Actions taken: Due to the nature of the incident, I could not take action as the shift ended and they were on the Odin.
  16. You did a bad job of fine-tuning. You've ignored every tenet of our Tajaran lore. Let me re-direct you appropriately to servers that are more supportive of furries in general, and non-normal Tajara: https://nanotrasen.se/forum/ (Paradise Server) https://ss13polaris.com/ (Polaris) This is a -1 from me, clearly.
  17. Replace it with a crew member that a head of staff needs to do an employee review with. Problem solved.
  18. If that is an actual regulation, I have seen it brought up or utilized 0 times ever. No one holds a vote about antags coming on station. they just go with the flow unless they are security, at which point they usually start sniffing around for valids. Either way, I don't see a huge problem with lowering the heist requirement. This is because they usually force their way on board regardless, but if there is a Captain 90% of the time they do authorize boarding because otherwise antags would just be stuck outside. The Captain as the head of the facility is de-jure, the only person able to authorize new visitors that aren't pre-authorized, this was said in a fax awhile back. CCIA can feel free to change their minds and state a policy somewhere, but most of station command roll with this.
  19. But wouldnt this allow for the heisters to act as hired engineers? Im sure theres interesting gimmicks to be had without sec/command sticking their noses in it. Only the Captain or a unanimous command vote may permit previously unscheduled visitors to board the facility babe.
  20. Anything is possible. It's a bug, as this was something that was not occuring before (items were always above consoles,) now, items and IDs are fucking impossible to grab sometimes just due to a shakey mouse, to the point where I usually need to use ALT to view the entire tile to grab an ID after updating it. Please make consoles spit IDs back into your HAND when you eject them like it used to be.
  21. They already have a power that lets them do a blink to the nearest shadowed tile. But them not being able to see in the dark is a bit strange.
  22. -1 This would mean that about four players would be heisters, as there's no point with three or less. Which means there'd be 9 crew. The odds of there being engineering are very low in these rounds, which means no engine, and there might not even be security and command. Group gamemods are better suited for higher populations.
  23. need to post here again, DasFox has followed me around at least in two or three rounds (as a ghost) and harassed me in LOOC for my character being 'rude' to people or denying their requests, it's starting to get quite tiresome.
  24. The first part was me asking to be processed fast, because I was suspended and how no reason to stay for the round and wanted to leave and do other things. AOOC was me telling the revs (which I was just force-included into) that I was going, in an admittedly salty manner. The only comment I can see there that'd be inappropriate would be the sec boner group one.
