I know they're already in the code, I'd like to spawn in with them because I don't think science has made them for us once. Ever. In my time as one of the top 10 most played characters who is always in medical. And it would at least untether us from the front desk.

I suppose this, but if we don't do THIS, can we at least have handheld sensor monitors?
-
And how do we produce anything that requires carpotoxin?

Discussions of Purpose and How to Have Them

Alternatively, we could all chill the fuck out. Bonus points if we can handle continuous conversation to better ourselves and our connections with one another without blocking one another. -
Sighs and quits her actual job.

Nawfal's Pineapple Wallet Part 2- Looting corpses edition
Resilynn replied to Resilynn's topic in Completed Items
Seriously, menown. Absolutely no one would blame you for bringing him back, I think we’d all trust you to do good things with the character because of it. -
Holy shit. No company today adopts an official policy of paying women 20% less. Women tend to earn less because they don’t get raises, don’t get promotions, and end up driven to fields that generally pay less. This PR just seems unreasonable. It’s not grounded in this reality, and seems out of place in its own world.

We've already established that the current trend is towards gender equality. What disrupts that trend?
-
Point to the exact moment in the lore that would have established this.
-
Yes. But the enduring presence of issues does not mean there has not been tremendous progress. Keep explaining sexism to me, though, I LOVE it.
-
Are you aware of the progress women have fought for over the last 100 years, at all? Just throwing that out there.

Nawfal's Pineapple Wallet Part 2- Looting corpses edition
Resilynn replied to Resilynn's topic in Completed Items
This happened in round. The only priest on station was blind and could not care for the body properly, so a tajaran emt and Fernando prepared the body best they could, changing him into a suit, the emt even gave him her shoes. The wallet was left in muhawirs jumpsuit and found later, after the cremation, when muhawirs items were being sorted. Unless you want to argue it’s somehow looting the dead for a cmo to prepare a body by putting it into a suit. -
CCIA Staff Application Basic Information Byond key: Resilynn Character names: Fernando Gonzales, Ellie Shoshanna, Cara, Tyler McMullen Age: 26 Timezone: MST in the winter, Pacific in the summer What times are you most available?: It's all over the place, really. Evenings are consistent. Experience How long have you played SS13?: 2+ years. How long have you played on Aurora?: 2+ years. How active on the forums, discord and/or server are you? I'm pretty sure I'm statistically one of the most active players on the server. Have you ever been banned, and if so, how long and why?: Nope. Have you ever volunteered as moderation staff for any other servers, SS13 or otherwise?: Nope. Do you have any other experience that you believe would be relevant to a position in the CCIA?: Well, I set the record for most IRs in a week, if that counts. Mostly I've just been an adult for about 9 years now so paperwork is my jam. Personality Why do you want to join the CCIA?: I love the idea of creative consequences over incident reports, beyond just, you're fired. I've seen CCIA do things like issue restraining orders and community service, and I think that's a pretty neat way to build character development. I've had characters be slowly molded by CCIA actions and it was awesome to see that ICly, the company was having an impact on shaping this particularly troublesome member of command. Lastly, I really, really want to be the guy responding to faxes from Central. What do you think are the most important qualities for a CCIA Agent to possess?: Attention to detail, patience, and being particularly soulless and unbiased. As a character, at the very least. OOC, it's also crucial to be able to keep OOC and IC separate. What do you think the purpose of a CCIA Agent is in an ongoing round?: Answering faxes and enabling the progress of the round, backing antags as needed (in rev rounds especially) to help with storytelling. What do you think the purpose of a CCIA Agent is outside of the server?: CCIAAs facilitate the ongoing story of the server. Make a big IC mistake? Have IC consequences. I've seen firsthand how ongoing CCIA involvement can shape rounds and characters over long periods of time. How do you handle stress?: I don't get stressed by deadlines and paperwork, I trudged through a useless BA in English. How well do you work autonomously?: Exceptionally. Additional Notes: I think I'd be an excellent candidate for CCIAA. I already do a ton of paperwork in round, my CCIA messages in antag roles have all been believable, grammatically correct, and carefully constructed to facilitate a round. I've sat through an impressive number of CCIA interviews and am about as familiar with the process as non CCIAA can be. I basically have regulations memorized at this point. I'd also like to emphasize, because it has come up a number of times, that my penchant for being a rulebreaker IC should not be confused for any misunderstanding of rules OOC. I've never been banned, my 4 warnings have all long expired, and lately I haven't even managed to get in trouble ICly.

[2;bin 02/MAR/2019] Proper Resleeving Suggestion Thread

Why are developers against making cloning easier? If you want cloning to be rare, just delete in game cloning. Or make it a science thing. I literally get bitched at for not cloning daily because it takes up to 30 minutes of care and no one has that time on red alert. I’ve even seen some wonderful people on this thread spread this rumor that I pretend to not know how to clone to get out of it. I get harassed over LOOC and, about weekly, over discord and regularly have to ahelp to get ghosts to shut up. And I’m one of the medical players who DOES consistently do it as long as we have the time. Please. I prefer the neural lace thing because it DOES seem more time efficient. And like that it’d make for neat rp, neat antaggery, etc. -

Take away traumas and give me this instead. Because I will literally take anything else above trauma. We should consider how this could work in the lore. We live in a corporate hellscape, right? Maybe cloning machines could work almost like vending machines in that you insert an ID as well and the machine charges you- 500 for a fresh and unremarkable largely prosthetic body, 1,000 for a new grown body, 2,000 for a genetic copy of you. (Imagine finally using the medical budget for this as the company is willing to set aside enough for a few clones a shift). Maybe poor people sometimes just end up being neural laces living off a host, a close friend or family member, etc. Maybe neural laces can be temporarily attached to shitty androids, meaning robotics could bring people back in a pinch. Even if these don’t end up being mechanical changes, I’m delighted by the idea of what this could add to the game lorewise alone. Let’s keep discussing it as an option, I think it’s promising. -
My only concern is mapping. Our current map does not have room to build outward from the chemistry lab, and virology equipment takes up space. For the sake of flavor, virology should reasonably have containment locks, etc. in the meantime, though, why don’t we just go the lazy route and have the role come with access to both? Half of medical can access virology anyway.

Drago’s code is more extreme than what I drafted here. I agree we should stick to what I’ve drafted.

I mean, essay aside, I still use rescue cigarettes and they still work. I did an appendectomy in space with a rescue cigarette on lowpop not 4 months ago thank you for explaining that all, though These changes were were designed to ensure people wouldn’t have to stay in medical. Which of these would demand constant medical attention? At the most, we would be handing off a pair of glasses and some paracetamol before sending someone on their way. If you read the initial post, I mention using the bar, library, and holodeck as places to relax for recovery, which should take around ten minutes per drug and enable plenty of rp while simply disabling the ability to jump back into combat *easily*. Combat should still be doable for all of these. I welcome someone trying to figure out how to use these changes as traitor items. Creativity should be rewarded. Using Peridaxon as a pain crit would be effective, but still less powerful than just using chloral hydrate or half the poisons.
-
Yes you can. Correction: Unless it was changed within the last 3 days, yes you can. A cigarette 1 part bicaridine, 1 part dex plus, and 1 part peridaxon will keep you alive indefinitely in space without rupturing your lungs.
-
Peridaxon fixes ruptured organs. the whole idea of these changes is exactly to keep people from rushing back into combat, so I’m not sure why you’d cite needing to see what you’re shooting at as a reason to change the dex plus side effect.
-
We absolutely need a nawfal one. Also definitely need a medical sub level one.

Nawfal's Pineapple Wallet Part 2- Looting corpses edition
Resilynn posted a topic in Completed Items
BYOND Key: Resilynn Character name: Fernando Gonzales Item name: Pineapple Wallet Why is your character carrying said item to work? After the death of Nawfal, Fernando took care of the body- dressing him in a suit, finding him nice shoes, and cleaning him up. After the cremation, Fernando realized Nawfal's wallet was left in the harness on his engineering clothes. He kept the wallet on hand, not wanting to just throw away the keepsake and not knowing anyone aside from Al-Shennawi or Prate's Angry Miner Cat to give the wallet to. So he's keeping it on him until he can hand it off to either of them as a keepsake. Item function(s): Works like the typical wallet. Due to size, it has reduced capacity, three instead of the typical ten. Item description: A rather small, cheaply made felt wallet with a zipper near the top. It looks like a pineapple. Item appearance: See this thread: How will you use this to better interact with crew and/or stimulate RP? Eventually it'll be handed off to one of the Tajara Nawfal was close with, but since neither comes around often, for now it will serve as a reminder of his lost friend. Additional comments: In the event Menown decides this was not, in fact, canon, I'll readily drop this. If Prate or Alb want to just spawn it in and RP this out for a single round, I'll accept that too, but I think it'd be sweeter and more sentimental to carry around for awhile.
