  1. While I cannot understand why you made Bjorn Liaison, since he is not suited for this position, according to his records and you should re-think that coice, you are a capable roleplayer and its enjoyable to play with you and your characters.
  2. I cannot see the problem, honestly, Prate. There are rules against that....I think? And I agree with Shenaanigans that you have it up to player discretion. Not like it makes an impact anyway, honestly. You can, of course, mechanically divide it by dividing the description into "general", can be seen at any distance really and "closer inspection" that only pops up when you hold it and inspect it. But I think that would be a bit too much honestly. Again, it isnt a real problem with any other item, since this is how it works right now. I just want to click accessories like patches and see what patches, pins or other stuff people have on their jackets or so. To bring up a specific example: I have a character that wears a golden pin tag. The description says "A golden pin tag with the name XYZ neatly engraved on it.". Right now - it serves no purpose. People can clearly see the pin tag and what is engraved on it, yet since they cannot inspect it, it theoretically serves absolutely zero purpose. I hope you understand what I mean and why I want this changed.
  3. Then the entire system is broken. When you click on an item someone is wearing and switch to the Examine tab you can read the entire description. Alas, it does not make sense to not be able to read whats on patches or or pin tags, which is what descriptions normally provide Additionally why wouldnt it make sense? A description....describes the item, when looking at it. Of course you should be able to read the description, as it is now, except accessories.
  4. Hello fellow Aurorians, since the devs gave us the gift to inspect items that are worn by someone something has always bothered me. Some people cover their items in accesories, attachments, patches, all the like. Some things read very interesting yet I cannot click on accessories to inspect them further, like other items like pants, shirts, suits, etc. I have a peanut brain and have no idea if it is even possible to change this since I please want to look at every patch and pin tag closely and read the (probably) extensive description people have put on them. But if it can be possible, please make it so.
  5. I am bumping this, I almost forgot ?
  6. I'd like to see something like stateless being added. I think with these expansive frontier regions we have in lore, not everyone just has citizenship, is against having one or doesnt care. Drifters or scrappers, for example. Don't think it has too many drawbacks such people would care about.
  7. Ashtrays can be empty, half filled and full. But what's the problem with that? Well, you cannot empty them. When an ashtray is full, you can effectively only throw it away. Something that is a bit strange, don't you think? There should be a way to empty them, please.
  8. I think Menown's camping equipment is one of the better, if not best, custom items. He established his character basically being a tunnel hobo on the station long before he got this stuff and this just helps to cement that aspect of the character. I am really eager to see what he pulls off with the new items. Tunnel soup kitchen incmoming? +1

  10. It is an unsolvable topic. While I agree with many things that are said here and while I, personally, think that canon progression of characters and lore is the only correct thing and non-canon stuff can be fun once in a while, but ultimately not adding to a progressive narrative, the problem is once again not only the game - but the players. Even the way of freeform antags as they exist on our server, if you inspect it in more detail you come to the quick conclusion that antags are extremely limited by design of the server, the setting and of course, the game. You can be as creative as you want, and some people really are, but the amount of original gimmicks(tm) are exhausted. Period. You can maybe bring a spin to one or something unexpected happens and steers said original gimmick(tm) into a new direction but ultimately it boils down to the same thing in the end. That is why antags need to be non-canon, as is right now. People also do not WANT to keep interactions with antags canon. Hell, they don't even want to keep events and consequences from CANON events canon. Something that has been incredibly confusing in KOTW because it was allowed and the lack of guidance regarding the matter didn't help. But I digress. People who know me know that opinion of me: People, for some reason, do not want lasting consequences. I see it in Incident Reports, too, regularly, when talking to involved people. It is a problem that also factors into the whole "keep all antag related stuff non-canon". But I digress again. Antagonists as they are, even if they were made even more freeform as they are, in some way, do not add anything for the long run, in my opinion. The fact that the same people over and over and over get drafted as antag speaks for itself - most people, myself included, don't play antag because the way of storytelling, delivered by antags, is just lackluster. It's a bit of action movie shooting, much talking over nothing, the ten millionth vault raid or stupid wizard from another dimension shouting ONI'SOMA over and over and over again. Of course I know that the server would be dead in a week (Alert: dramatic exaggeration) if we'd only play 24/7 extended but that is why I loop back to my first sentence in this post: It is an unsolvable topic, for now, I think. The setting of the space station Aurora is just too limiting to be really creative and bring new and interesting antag interactions in 2020....and onwards. This is no new problem - lore events in the past sometimes felt that you had to go out of your way to include the Aurora in intergalactic events in some way. I also want to echo what nienna said above, something I also have been saying for a long time now: HRP in SS13 standards is MRP - at best. Really depends on the people. By no way I mean to elevate myself or anyone else over other players, but that the game is just limiting. Of course it is, it's a game, but it shows with the standard antagonists more than in any other way, in my opinon. To sum it up, there are three problems with antagonists and canon narrative: - The setting is limiting as it is, a research station out in a asteroid nebula. - All original gimmicks(tm) have been done a billion times over and over again - you all know that. - People get buttblasted about actual consequences. There needs to be a solution to this, even if it is through rules or anything else. It's a hard topic and I cannot give the perfect solution - or any solution to that matter, but I find it very good that a discussion has been started about it. Even if it is no new topic it is important to be talked about
  11. @Haydizzle I won't miss up another chance! Congratulations on getting Unathi Lore Maintainer!
  12. I Support this application
  13. Then just dont play the characters until it is over. You can just say they were not on the station when the traffic restrictions happened. If that applies to ALL of your characters then you have to make a new one where that is not the case...
  14. Shuttle traffic is heavily restricted and they are plainly just not permitted to leave, isn't that enough?
  15. I don't think anyone has to say much about Goret, it's good he's back at it again, we all know about his qualities, he has shown them in the past. Good luck, brave piggy.
  16. I like Shodan very much. I never had a problem with them and I think they are well suited for the task. I'm glad to read that their health has improved and they are back again. Good luck with your trial.
  17. While work sadly prevented me from attending too many events in the past few weeks I enjoy(ed) all I could get. I am impressed on the scale of the permanent effects of the arc, like how Mars got obliterated, the death of known characters, etc. I hope this finale will go on for a bit longer. And that I can attend the grand finale. I am eager to see how it will all go down.
  18. Are you really scrolling past without saying good night?
