  1. BYOND key: KingOfThePing Discord name/id: Lanze#0792 Borg / AI names: Borg: n/a / KAI Have you read the Aurora wiki page about the AI?: Absolutely Why do you wish to be on the whitelist?: I used to play AI more frequently in the past and I always enjoyed the unique perspective (both literal and not literal) you have on the game. There are some great AIs out there and without naming them they are all great in their own way. I enjoy the freedom you have, when playing an AI, you are literally able to enrich everyone's experience, if you try hard. Have you received any administrative actions? And how serious were they? Nothing except two minor warning from 2017 or so Do you understand your whitelist is not permanent, and may be stripped following continuous administrative action? Sure thing, Boss
  2. Fat Rat Fat Rat +Fat
  3. While both ERTs do look a bit similar now I still think the new sprites are a) heccing great and b) similarity shouldnt be too much of a problem since both ERTs almost never will be on the field at the same time. There are also other identifying factors except the suits.
  4. Not sure if this is a serious suggestion. If it is I dont know what to say, if it isn't then this is the wrong subforum
  5. this is not funny, this is a serious issue, I will report you
  6. before alb does it what is the anime name?
  7. Yeah baby that's what I've been waiting for, that's what it's all about
  8. Good stuff. Best of luck to you
  9. CCIA can open the Odin Sec slots, not many use them, tho
  10. I think you misunderstood some of the points I tried to make - I can't right now but I will try to explain it better tomorrow
  11. Sure there has to be some brain bashing to determine the access. But it will expand the access nontheless. You can even extend these keycards to elevators, for example. Endless possibilities. Bonus points for adding a cool sound when swiping a card and getting access granted/denied.
  12. In another post, regarding the access of medics and first responders I gave this thought (just copy paste): "Okay, really hot take here: Access bounded with/to IDs is a flawed system and I found it always very strange. Why not do the following: IDs are what it says - cards to identify someone. They dont have any use on doors or access in general. This gets outsourced to, can you guess the super sci fi answer? Access keycards. What's the difference you ask? Simple - these access keycards are only for sensitive areas. The Supermatter Engine, Command obviously. Head offices, armoury, etc (exact areas pending). So what's the difference? Well, for one, it's easier to forge a keycard - stealing IDs is always something that draws attention in some way. forging or manipulating a keycard is way more subtle. Second, the age old access question for who gets where is (partially) solved. Everyone just has basic department access. What speaks against it anyway? there is not much in the, for example engineering lobby that can be meddled with and if - maybe a small remap is needed. You could even go further and make it so that you actually have to swipe your keycard for these secured doors either on a device or on the door itself, so you need maybe a second or two to open them. "But Lanze, this is not realistic." Why not? Example - I am working in a (military) hospital. There are security areas but you either get buzzed in (something that wouldnt work with Aurora, obviously) or we use our access card. But even then, with a tiny bit of effort people could gain access to these areas relatively easily but they stick out. Someone will notice them because they are out of place. Something that would be similar here. My two cents on the whole debate, honestly." Please discuss what you think about this idea.
  13. Yes I think what I wrote kind of derailed, I will make another post for it. More access for everyone!

  15. I commissioned Matt to do it and he was nice enough to take it on, pr is here: github.com/Aurorastation/Aurora.3/pull/11106
  16. watch your language
  17. Have you ever worked shifts, mate. If I'd work early 6am-2pm one week and night 10pm-6am the other week I can be a creature of habit and routine all I want, since it doesn't matter.
  18. The topic of night lighting is only tangible relevant at best. I dont want (certain) characters of mine exclusively work at night. "But what is the difference in space?" In space, none. For RP a big one. Why would my father of 10 exclusively work at night? Just an example, there are plenty more
  19. yes? can you elaborate? please explain it to me!!1
  20. I am against this change. What Zundy says still applies. Even while I am not affected I dont like the idea of people being eternally forced upon this. There is also the issue of night lighting. -1
