CCIA Staff Application
Basic Information
Byond key: KingOfThePing
Character names: I am not able to pull a character list from byond right now, so here are my currently most played characters:
- Sei Armas, Paramedic
- Quik'Kin Zish, Captain
- Azuzul Zuusk'ur, Engineering Apprentice
- (Konstantin Vorobyov, former CMO and agent of the Republic, never forget.)
Age: 27
Timezone: Central European Time
What times are you most available?:
4 PM - 10 PM daily, more on weekends.
Experience
How long have you played SS13?:
4 years consistently, sporadically before that
How long have you played on Aurora?:
About the same time a bit less. Maybe something between 3.5-4 years.
How active on the forums, discord and/or server are you?
I am very active on the forums, on a daily basis. I used to be quite active on the discord, but left many species discords because they clogged up my server list. (A problem that is no longer happening)I left the main discord a bit later, because I did not really use it. I am relatively active on the server itself. Sure, some days I am unable to join, due to work and/or uni but I am a, I believe, well known member of the community. I contribute to discussions and conversations in OOC.
Have you ever been banned, and if so, how long and why?:
I received two minor warnings. One in 2017 and one in 2018 I believe, one was for misinterpreting rogue AI laws that were uploaded to me and one was for sabotaging the SM without asking first, something I didn't knew back then.
Have you ever volunteered as moderation staff for any other servers, SS13 or otherwise?:
No
Do you have any other experience that you believe would be relevant to a position in the CCIA?:
I already was CCIA. I left back then because it was a troubling time back then. I was writing my thesis, had to coordinate the assessment for a new employer and a subsequent move across the entire country. Other related experience, I used to write lab reports and assist in scientific papers for a long time before and during my bachelor's degree.
Personality
Why do you want to join the CCIA?:
Despite the fact that CCIA often gets made a bit fun of, not "really" being staff and just being paper pushers we have the greatest influence over ongoing rounds (with admin assistance, sometimes). People expect answers to faxes, expect reactions to EBS messages. Expect a presence, outside the station. I loved writing up faxes, sometimes pulling names and jobs, that were responding from the top of my head. For example, whenever someone asked for confirmation of a message, I let Comms Officers answer. AI problems? The CTO or other IT Tech answers your fax. I liked it a lot and often jumped onto the server for answering faxes alone. The investigation part, consisting of IRs was fun, too. I liked the coordination between us back then very much. I hope that hasn't changed.
What do you think are the most important qualities for a CCIA Agent to possess?:
Patience and professionalism. Patience because IRs can drag on - but you still have to be punctual about it. It's an important matter, these records and punishments are here to stay. But the most important quality you need is: having fun. CCIA builds the world around the station. Having fun and being creative with our tools at hand is imperative to make an impact.
What do you think the purpose of a CCIA Agent is in an ongoing round?:
As I said above: driving the round and building the world outside of the Aurora, let it be the Odin, Biesel or any other place that is relevant to the station.
What do you think the purpose of a CCIA Agent is outside of the server?:
Pretty much the same as all other staff. Even if it is not on the same level as mods or admins, CCIA is to answer questions, help with (IC) problems and being generally helpful to players. CCIA represents the server no less than other staff.
How do you handle stress?:
I keep a cool head in difficult situations, adopt quickly and run a clear no bullshit attitude when it comes to work. Even more so than in the past.
How well do you work autonomously?:
I learned to solve problems on my own during uni and I am now a (in training) superior to other people. During work I am expected to make decisions and fulfill tasks on my own. I have absolutely no problem with working autonomously.
Additional Notes:
I wrote this on my phone. I will be back on my PC on the 19th of November.
