50 people wanted adapatations, /80/ wanted it reverted...

I shall not + or - this application, I have the same concerns as Brutish. I play almost every single day, and the only character I've seen of yours is Webb. However I rarely see them and maybe I'll see them once or twice a week if lucky. You also do need to become more active within the community. Being a command member is a big role, I don't have experience in it, but I have been interim plenty of times before, and I know how stressful and demanding because a head can be.

+1 I've known Cnaym ever since I've started playing Aurora, first with my Robotcist John Normandy, becoming great friends with their (now) Engineer, Spike Barnes. Tag team duo in Robotics. I play officer a lot now and their security officer Akki is a really good character too. I can vouch for their RP, they are great at what they do.

That honestly means a lot coming from you. And I know how scrutinizing you can be with applications and what not, but hearing this from you actually made me smile, If I am being honest.

Not everyone can make it big inside the Federation, Xiq was unfortunately one of the ones that didn't. However after hearing about the Aurora through news sites and general talks amongst the Federation, he feels that it might be eaiser to make it big on the Aurora first by becoming a director, perhaps after a few years working on the Aurora he could come back to the Federation with some achomplishments.

So, I had help from a friend of mine in re-structureing the backstory to make it eaiser to read and make more sense. Hope you like it.

If Xiq was suprised by something, say if one of his experiemtns succeeded, he would probably talk in Nral'Malic for the duration of his suprise, perhaps chirruping heavily. However, if he was suprised by something bad, perhaps seeing someone shot or killed, he would most likely chirrup loudly once, and then go quiet while retreating from the area, perhaps crying afterwards, as death is uncommon for him, he is no combat expert by any means. His loyalty to the Federation if classed on a scale of 10, would be around a 6 to 7 out of 10. Before his loyalty used to be higher, however due to recent events, the archives, talks amongst the ExtraNet, the Federation to him, are perhaps not as golden as he once thought? However these thoughts are usually quelled, more like lingering thoughts, "what if?" so to speak.

Yeah, I tried making a decent backstory, and the flow of it is pretty bad, but yes, I know it's quite bad and I did try to improve it as much as I could.

I did read about the humor, but I couldn't think of a way to incorporate it in to the backstory. There's a reason why I rarely make new characters hahaha

One paragraph minimum per question. Why do you wish to play this specific race: Well, for a long time I’ve been just playing humans, and I thought it would be cool to play as a different species, (that’s actually organic) and I’ve been roleplaying with a bunch of Skrell characters now and I think they are actually cooler than I expected, before I didn’t really interact with Skrell characters but now I think they are pretty neat! Also few of my friends have told me to apply, they talked me into it, and I thought I’d give it a shot! Identify what makes role-playing this species different than role-playing a Human: Role-playing as a Skrell, is quite different than roleplaying as a human for obvious reasons, their undying hatred of glorsh-omega, which affects how they view Synthetics, they are old and wise (usually) and they also have a special thing called Srom, which if I get this whitelist, I can’t wait to test it out. With the current Skrell arc currently happening, if this gets accepted it’s going to be interesting to see how this plays out. Character Name: Xiquilixqip Sherup’Gell Please provide a short backstory for this character: Xiq is a 216 year old Skrell, being a navy blue, he was born in the Homeworld depths of the sea, in 2245. Xiq being born in the Supernova Era, he watched as the Federation helped grow the Skrell back to their old advanced civilization like they once were. Believing the Federation to be the saviors of the Skrell, his support for them is quite high, and only up until recently has his thoughts on the Federation dwindled a tad. Xiq grew up around technology and the advancement of it, as did most Skrell, Xiq had an interest of how it worked, how it ticked, what caused it to do what it did? It enabled Xiq at a young age to become much of a tinkerer, no matter how good something was, he always felt that whatever he had or created, he could improve it, over and over and over. Almost an unhealthy habit, no matter how good or how complex a device was. During a young age, Xiq wasn't cared for as much as one would hope, leaving the bond to not be as strong as it is on other Skrell, it is suspected that this is the reason Xiq cannot say his name. Xiq went to the Aloise University of Medical Sciences, learning basic science and chemistry, making a close friend along the way. After he graduated Aliois Uni, he successfully attempted to get accepted to The Grand University, along with his friend. His time there he learnt more advanced science, and chemistry. Slowly working towards his goal of becoming a famous scientist, shortly after his friend and him grew apart, leaving Xiq alone again, they lost contact with each other shortly after. Xiq has been working in the Federation as a low-level scientist, working on basic science and advancements, if you could call it that. He felt that his skills and knowledge were not being used to their full extent, upon hearing about the Aurora he decided to leave the Federation space and work for NanoTrasen on the NSS Aurora, deciding he wanted to become a Research Director aboard the Aurora after some time aboard the station. Xiq’s parents being from the Weeping Era, always told and taught Xiq that no matter who they are, you cannot trust Synthetics, they can turn on you at any second, so Xiq has always had a distrust, and if not, a natural dislike to all things Synthetic. As he grew up through the Supernova Era, his parents were not as supportive as one would hope, one might think that a child from parents who were from the Weeping Era would view their child as a beacon of hope, however his parents mostly cared for themselves, and always pushed their views of synthetics on to him, which in turn caused Xiq to live an almost sheltered life, tinkering with items and objects. Through going to school, he learned that he could become greater at what he does now, the ability to become a scientist, and help shape the galaxy in to what it is today, mostly doing his work in the Jargon Federation, he decided he wanted to become something better and head to the Aurora he has heard so much about, getting a job working for NanoTrasen is one step closer to his goal. What do you like about this character? Well, this is my first whitelist application in… a long while, and I have been convinced by friends of mine, and ICly by watching how Skrell’s RP, so I wanted to make a Skrell Application. I like this character because it’s something unique I have not done before, and this character will be my road to command pretty much, I can’t really say what I like about this character as I have yet to even play him, but if I was to pick a few things that I like about him, it would be his love for tinkering with things, and all my characters I have made don’t mind, or like Synthetics, playing a character who has a natural distrust towards them, or even a hatred will be interesting to play. How would you rate your role-playing ability? I think it’s about a 6-7 now, I have definitely improved since my last application, and I have had people tell me, my self that I am a decent role-player. Including people who used to dislike me from when I first started playing Aurora. Notes: This application is probably really bad, but I put my best effort into it, I have even read the lore in detail as much as I could to put my best effort in to this, even asking for tips from other Skrell players. I’ve never been good at coming up with backstories/characters but I have had a few people look at this application before posting and they said it’s not bad but it’s okay. Major +1 For Xev, up until recently, I didn't really know any of his characters, who they were or what the did or were like, but after actually going out and RPing with his characters, I can safely say they are some of the best characetrs I've had a pleasure of playing with, he totally deserves this whitelist, and this character sounds amazing, you can tel he put a lot of detail in to this application, and a lot of depth and thought has gone in to this character, like all of his other characters. If this application gets accepted, I can't wait to see Butcher out and about on station, and it will be interesting to see what a Chef called "Butcher" can get up to in antagonistic roles.

+1 I have interacted a lot with Sentiment ICly as my officer Jake trying to teach Sentiment how to become more like a person (and failing, damn IPC mains...), Sentiment having this would be a really neat and wholesome idea. And I will not lie, I also follow my body around, to see what people do with it, and how they react, and watching Sentiment place a flower on one of my characters body, would be a wholesome and probably make me cry a little, idea. +1

I think we should add defibrillators, they are a vital asset. CPR should be used and then stop being used after the defibs have arrived, or, be used in tandem, CPR>Defib>CPR>Defib etc

I'm gonna bring up a few points, one, the loot in maint is hardly anything to make a fuss about, the best thing you will find in maint is, extended emergency oxygen tanks, tactical/boot knives, a vest which is honestly just bad, and on the very rare occasion, kitty ears. The tactical knives you can hack an autolathe for and shove in a boot, most security ignore the fact that the autolathe is hacked because a lot of the time, it's needed for research/bounties anyway. The EEOT (emergency tanks) are useful just because they're a god send upon a station depreasurising, and as security, that's vital. The vest is just bad overall, I am not sure on the stats, but I think it's worse than the normal officer vest. Now on to my next point, losing security in maint is fun, and it's easy, and trying to find antags in maint is hard. All it takes is for you to lose sight of them for one second, and bam, they've either dipped down another tunnel, or have hidden them selves in a locker, which usually most people don't look for. On to what you said Prate, I am not entirely sure what you mean by the top part, but waiting for someone or the AI to help you out is kinda pointless, because there are a lot more doors in maint than just the ones that lead to a hallway/department, there are also no cameras in maint, so the AI cannot track you down, so you need to pin-point your location in maint for them to do so, but also, departments that do have access to maint, only have access to a certain part of maint usually, besides Engineers, and let me tell you, if security was hunting down some massive pink death bug in maint, and I called an Engineer over to help me get to it, if they fear RPd correctly I would expect a "Hell no" and a middle finger. On to your next point, I like to consider my self a decent security officer, I RP with antags and station crew as much as possible, I never used to, but with antags, I don't needlessly gank them, and I've been shouted at people in OOC, and ICly for giving antags too much leeway, I talk before I shoot, if I find an antag in maint, and he stops and turns to look at me, I won't instantly shoot him, now I can also say the same for a lot of people in security, or at least, a lot of the ones that are in the security discord, we love to RP and needlessly ganking an antag as you put it, isn't what we do. I can't say the same for EVERYONE in security, but most of the time the bad officers are usually the first to go via admins or just don't like the server and complain about their death. To my finishing statement, maintenence is a dangerous place for crew and officers, and the safest for antags, all it takes is an antag with an E-Sword or a shield, hell just a sword or boot knife, and that officer is fucked, I feel like a lot of the +1s to this PR is coming from people who don't play security, or don't play it as much as we do, and think a lot of us are just looking for valids, when in fact, behind a lot of the ex-military baldies you see, sometimes you'll find great characters to RP with, but there's always the meme that sec just wants valids, and everyone is supposed to hate security because they are fun removers.

I used to antag A LOT, (everyone remembers my John Normandy days) and let me tell you, there's so much fun in having to run away from sec, and having that FEELING of just... pure happiness that you managed to escape, escaping with your convoluted plan, sheer luck, or just absolute memery that you can laugh at after round end. But removing secs maint access, and then using it and escaping through maint and having sec not being able to chase after you just... sounds... boring. Maint is fun, and trying to lose sec in maint is FUN.

Yes. It is. I'm not sure if you play security at all, but getting trapped in maint fucking sucks, because it takes forever for anyone to get to you, and it's piss easy to hide in maint from security WITH them having access if you know what you are doing. So far this just seems like an agenda to nerf sec AGAIN for no reason.

Terrible idea, Security not having maint access gimps them so much than anything else you could think of, all it takes, is an antag to slip in to maint, and run down in one of the many maint tunnels and bam, he's gone, sec has lost him. Not just that, but emergency access Via maint tunnels is an important thing, ICly, this makes no sense, and OOCly, this wouldn't improve interaction with anyone. "Hey can you open this door and follow me in? Thanks." That's not fun, for anyone.

+1 I am not entirely why his command whitelist was stripped in the first place, but I had no issues with his command characters. It'd be great to see him commanding command again!

I like this. It's something new and differeant. Will the HoS and Wardens have access to each department security? That was one of the problems we had in the past was the fact that Wardens and HoSs couldn't go to each sec area.

+1 Having more electronic warfare stuff is always a good idea in my book. The ability to disrupt the stations c4i (Command, Controll, Communications, Intelligence.) is always something I've wanted to have more ouf. Outside of going straight to the AI and subverting it, it'd be cool to have more "Subtle" options. +1

They were one of the arresting officers of Timothy Cooper. - Time of Incident: 10:33-12:43 Real Time: 09/10/2019 12pm GMT Location of Incident: Bar, Brig, Surface. Nature of Incident: [ ] - Workplace Hazard [ ] - Accident/Injury [X] - Destruction of Property [ ] - Neglect of Duty [ ] - Harassment [X] - Assault [ ] - Misconduct [ ] - Other _____ Overview of the Incident: Timothy Cooper broke in to the bar, stole the bar shotgun. He was shortly arrested and questiond by me, he said he didn't steal the shotgun, or know anything about it. We let him go with a fine for breaking in to the bar as we had no proof of anything else. A short while later Oscar Easter spotted him with a crate full of Contraband, including the Bar's double barrel shotgun. Upon detaining, I heard over the radio that Miss Wint was shot by Mr Cooper with the Bar's shotgun. Thankfully, it was loaded with beanbags and Miss Wint was not severely hurt. However, he was arrested and put in the brig under assault against Head of Staff, Resisting Arrest and Contraband. Once inside the brig the cell, the officers had left and I tried to question him, he was getting rowdy so I walked in to his cell, he started to beat me, I used my flash, and defended my self with my stun baton. Cuffing him, and then calling for help. He was shortly placed back on his bed. A few minutes later, the AI reported that he was breaking out via the visitor section. Machi Malinsky manged to intercept him and detain him before he got out. We decided to stay inside the communal to watch over him, he then proceded to get up and slap me across the face, in return I slapped him back, if not harder and told him to back off. He then started to beat me and Miss Malinsky. I used somewhat exccessive force which resulted him having a fracture according to medical. Thankfully none life threatening. I do not see how this man can be a member of the stations crew, especilaly after shooting the Head of Security with a shotgun. Did you report it to a Head of Department or IAA? If so, who?: Miss Wint, Head of Security at the time, was a direct victim of Mr Coopers actions. Actions taken: Arrested and put in to a cell, for seventy minutes, or, at least until the shuttle arrived to pick him up. Additional Notes: Personally, I would have liked to charge him with attempted murder, as he used a shotgun on Miss Wint at point blank range. However they were not charged with that. I personally would like to see him fired for his actions.
