Constantly deflecting issues and blame is a trait which belongs to children, or those who have been through a bit more than what we within this community are capable of offering to you. Regardless, to the extent that you display it here, it is inexcusable and goes a long way to undermine your own attempts at getting unbanned. Aggression is also a fun thing to discuss. Sure, aggression tempered with sound mind is a great tool. In fact, I use it myself. But as with everything, it must be applied in measured doses. Let us remind ourselves of you acting like an aggressive child over multiple occasions (on Discord, in the complaint against you by specifically calling someone a little bitch, and with you unban appeal juke). I'm sure that list is way longer, was I to bother looking. And please do not attribute any of these to anything other than your inability to handle yourself: ultimately, it was and always has been your choice to stay here and conduct yourself as you have been. You've always been free to leave, had you believed you were mistreated severely enough. You always had the choice to do just not call someone a little bitch. Or to walk away from this community with your dignity. But no. You chose to act the way you did. And that is why both me and Abo think this is wasted breath. Also. I never claimed Schev was blameless. But you are deflecting your own shortcomings onto him. Considering that 80% of your words are wasted on tirades about him and clearthoughts. With one measly sentence addressing your absolute failure to leave your own dignity intact.

Here-in lies one critical nuance. Others can perceive you as being a total ass even if you acted "nicely" towards them at an individual level. When this happens, it's usually because you are, in general, an ass. And give off the vibe of being an ass. Ultimately, you're deflective, aggressive, and an ass. Even when scapegoats like Delta are not involved.

2016-05-09 20:04:46 || skull132 || Warning added by skull132, for: Please do not yell random obsenities over any channel for no reason. You will be permabanned next offence.. || Notes regarding the warning: Started spamming "RAPE" over IC. Ban them without mercy next time.. 2016-05-09 20:35:01 || skull132 || skull132 has permabanned thegiantwaffle. - Reason: Screaming "RAPE" after being arrested, despite a warning previously not to. Also screaming other random slurs and obsenities IC without a legitimate reason. Basically a chucklefuck. - This is a permanent ban. Well, to be fair, it has been a year. Alright, I'll lift the ban and give you another chance. But please, for future reference, when we ask you to do something. Please actually do it. "Get warned and repeat the same day," is a nice way to get banned for long periods of time. Also, please note that attempting to ban dodge is a butt move.

The thing about the "Aggression" towards Prospekt is. It's oddly warranted. Literally everything Alex said is correct, it would be an outright and clear lie to say it isn't. And this is wherein lies the issue with this thread: trying to crowbar Prospekt's own shortcomings out of his opinion, and evaluating the latter based on its merits. The problem is that Prospekt has constantly popped up with the same exact complaints that he raises in this thread, while partaking in activity which is hostile towards staff, clearly not allowed by server rules, and has never been allowed. For reference: literally all of his unban threads, "y so srs" threads, and his conduct over Discord. None of that has ever been allowed, and consistency in staff actions this is clearly denoted by his notes and warnings as well, which date back to 2015 and echo the same issues that are present with his conduct now. Clearly he got in trouble for his conduct in 2015, so I fail to see any merit to the point of, "You're all suddenly so serious; it used to be more lax in the past." With Prospekt addressed, let's swing around to the issue without involving him. None of what you said is new or too enlightening. Standards sway: they move from too soft to too rough, this is normal. Has always been the case, if you care to remind yourself of the time when FFrances was Head Admin and nit picking of standards was through the roof. This was then followed by the relaxing of said standards. It's basically a sine wave. Right now, we're probably on the rising edge of it, considering the immense influx of people has forced staff to batten down some hatches. You can read more about it here. Towards the end of the summer, a lot of communique was received by staff, from the playerbase, about the fact that the gameplay felt more disjointed and less RP-like than it has been for a while, so the staff have been responding. That's really all there is to it. Also, I would enjoy actual proof (and legitimate staff complaints for that matter!) regarding some of the allegations you raise. "Kissing our feet" is something that usually ends badly, literally just follow the rules or run with your warnings. None of the staff here do this for whatever personal gratification goal you twist up. The proof existing in the fact that if what you said were actually true, we would not be here. There have been plenty of instances where staff have gone over the line and the community has clearly and loudly told us to fall back in line. Notice how this isn't one of those cases.

I don't really mean to dog pile. But the dude above me covered all of what I would have said. Hooyah.

Timers are ass and ew no thank you. It's a crude and uncreative solution. I did originally have an idea for fleshing out enthrallment a bit more before pushing the vampire rewrite, but binned it under feature creep. The general idea was that thralls would have a slight upkeep mechanic to them. Essentially, a thrall is slaved to the blood of the vampire. A vampire's blood being highly unnaturally addictive to humans. And they see their master as the only source of said blood, thus essentially becoming a slave. Think of them as drug addicts, but instead of losing your teeth and dying, you get a few boosts and a new person to call your master. With that background in mind, the idea would have been to effectively implement withdrawl. As a thrall spends more and more time without getting a fresh batch of blood, make them slowly descend into lunacy. This would: Make thralls a slightly more contentious option to choose. Allows thralls to actually somewhat counter-play their masters if they end up descending into the negative upkeep. The idea is that it wouldn't be something as severe as like, you have to feed your thrall every five minutes. But more about, if you completely neglect them, due to your decision or not, you'd be fucked. It would also allow for interesting scenarios, I feel: torture someone by thralling them and then letting them hunger; create a station of madmen by thralling a few people and letting them run dry. As for the suggestion of making thralling as an act harder, eh. I've yet to figure out a good alternative. In reality, a vampire would more than likely simply entice the future thrall to drink their blood, or maybe spike their drink, Even the slightest taste makes you hyper-aware of the vampire, and want to look for more. So you'd be inclined to, say, follow them down a dark alley and let them have their way with you. However. Because people absoloutely do not play nice with suggested or complex conversions (cult comes to mind), I chose to not go that route. Your own whips lashing at this point.
-
Your failure to make use of this mechanic, or ignorance to it, is irrelevant to this discussion. The existence of better alternatives has little to do with my points. The tools that allow a Roboticist to accomplish all of the tasks that I listed are still present, they are simply more marginalized than they used to be. Woups I forgot to be specific in my post. Let me append specificity to my statement. Also, read what's posted to you and attempt to understand it before replying.

This topic again :^) You fail to realize one thing. Robotics is highly dependent on RnD to actually be worthwhile. You require components from RnD to make advanced mechas, you require components to upgrade your fabs to ludicrious efficiency (which is how you make mechs with limited resources). You require a link to the RnD servers to make things work. And you fail to note the literal mountains of highly experimental technology that the roboticist already have access to and the liberty to test. They are, at worst, a maintenance and RnD support role. At best, a highly interesting toy factory where you can orchestrate a high amount of scientific shenaniganry (think wormhole generators, experimental power gens, weapons, etcetera, etcetera, etcetera.) Also, interesting point. RnD has the permission to produce weapons, this extends to basically the entire department. Engineering does not. So that'd remove a large bit of fun from robotics.

1 - 3 are solvable if deemed an issue, based on what I'm going to say about point 5. 4 probably falls under it as well. 5 requires you to actually do the work becoming of your self-assigned title and role. In that. You'd actually have to lobby with them to potentially seek a solution/compromise that would help all cases. A novel concept, I'm sure.
-
Consider better what you'll say in the future, then, and what it speaks of your priorities. Because you fully deserved the tongue lashing you just got. Mainly because while stating this, You forgot that there are hundreds upon hundreds (literally) of other players who might not share the same view point. Rolling over them without taking into consideration their wishes is kind of meh, in all honesty. Now about this topic. I unfortunately needed to skip before the madmins got to this topic on Sunday. But I'll bash with them and see what the main issues were. Probably something to do with duplicating CCIAA and so on. We'll see. If it is going to get implemented, then I can at least say that your character's records will be visible to you, no hidden information about it. The ability to remove will be up for thought, but at least you know who to report if someone did a boo-boo. (Though obviously the records might not all be ICly actionable. Because what is metaknowledge.) Also, Xanny, if you're so keen on this feature, let me tell you about a feature that already exists to fulfill a similar purpose. CCIAA record. That all heads of staff already have access to. Simply start working together with the CCIAA more.
-
Premade sentences are a meme. Please no, it might as well not be implemented at that point. There's absoloutely no value to be gained from a system that restrictive: no real possibility for roleplays good or evil.
-
Neither. I'm saying that the feature to incorporate lore into the game by having other corporations/sources for cargo to buy from needs lore attention. As was explained by Arrow multiple times.
-
Prices will be re-evaluated in a bit, they're relatively hard to get right the first time around. Or the second time around. Or the third. Though we would like to keep them at a level where QMs are incentivized to get money for cargo, by selling things back to CC/other traders. Shuttle times are actually tied into a mechanic which the lore staff (Senpai Jackboot plz mobilize them you lazy lizardman) where you would have multiple vendors selling the same item, with various different properties. It'd also mean that whenever you have multiple pick-up points, the time would stretch longer. Which would allow for some economy planning. Though I forget how long they are atm. The last point is a little badly phrased, so I'm failing to understand it properly, I'm afraid.
-
Ye, mapping error.
-
Could also differentiate between reflexive shooting and user initiated shooting I suppose.
-
With the update today, cargo was converted to dynamically load items from the database each round. We uh, might have missed some things. So if you spot anything missing in cargo, please let us know by replying to this thread!

I really don't understand what you're actually asking of us. Or rather, I do, but that would be putting my thoughts into your head which is, a sin. The assumption is that you want an actually working 1-way mirror, instead of having to rely on the videocamera setup already in place, yes? Or am I wrong?
-
My Baltic-German sensibilities were assaulted by the duplication of purpose between this and the Character Stories forums, but it is now a thing. I will now go and be ashamed.
-
Look at it from this perspective: if a shitty head of staff is writing notes which consistently get contested, for valid reasons, then staff will have a higher incentive to remove his whitelist. There's also the option of roleplay via bribing/extorting/whatevering a head of staff to leave positive remarks on your thing. In general, if the records are public to the character owners, and there exist quick report buttons, it should be fine-ish. At least it'll be better than having the NCCC or whatever they are keep traffic like that in their own little discord.
-
Both are possible. Unfortunately the BYOND method of providing the hash isn't 100% unique. Anyways, since your other connections don't match any bans, I'll just lift the specific mirror. You should be good to connect now. If not, reply or leave me a PM and I'll investigate further. Though be careful with that VM, I'm currently keeping the other mirrors active so if you show up with the clashing CID again, you might will get caught out again.
-
ExMachinae if you're using a VM, is it running pirated windows? Cuz that might explain. Or the simple fact that it is a VM might also explain it.
-
Well here's the interesting thing. Your computer ID changed once over the last few days. And that's what got you banned. It's generated by BYOND and shouldn't change unless you swap out machines or do some major internals work on your PC. Like swapping out hard drives. Will discuss with admins and see what they want to do about this.

As Zuh stated. Literally why nymphs (bloodsucking bundles of alien branches) and drones (probably covered in oil, dust, grime, and other goodness; otherwise metallic objects) are pick-up-able is because of developer indulgence. Believe it or not, the feature is internally consistent with already established mechanics of being able to pick up all holder mobs. This list of mobs also includes dirty, hairy, lab monkeys who wear diapers. (Diapers which probably have shit in them!) I hope I've been graphic enough to get my point across. A recommendation: please present an issue for what it is next time. That way we can discuss the actual issue, instead of us having to read your walls of text about matters which are only tangentially related. And also, recall Samantha Mason? The mice loving doctor/CMO who existed before Nanako was a member of this community? She always dragged a mice with her, even if she couldn't put it on her shoulder.
-
Well since Kaed has failed to elaborate on what's wrong with having mice on your shoulder, when you can have other holders on your shoulder/head, imma +1 dismissal this. +1 dismissal.
