  1. I respect you thoughts on my app and thank you for your input, i personally think that answers do not require multiple paragraphs to relay what is important. i also disagree that conflict must be involved in every back story you read, conflict happens in RP not in backstory where there is no interaction. If everyone had a "conflict" how would they survive on a station in space its not feasible that every single persons backstory must have bad things in it. Uh, I think you missed my point. It doesn't have to make your character go insane, or make him an anti-social edge-lord, but I don't want to RP with a person who's backstory is "I have a perfect life, I've never had a single problem, I have plenty of money, my family is all great, I've never had issues at a previous job, and I've never had any problems outside of that either!" See what I'm saying? A problem could be as simple as going broke off a bad investment, a divorce, or something like that, but you've gotta have something to keep him interesting.
  2. -1 from me, the application is extremely lackluster, the answers are all short, the backstory has no conflict, nothing interesting about it. If the application gets fixed up, I'd reconsider that, but until then.. yeah.
  3. I'd be willing to give this a +1 if one thing was fixed. The backstory still lacks much in the way of conflict, his mother died and he went to school, and after that he got a job and never had problems again?
  4. Good application overall, but I'd like to see the backstory worked on. From what you wrote.. I know his Mother died and that he works for NT, what else? There's not really any conflict, and past his childhood, he seems to lose any hint of personality he had.
  5. How do y'all feel about Aurora's most average security officer?
  6. I have to agree with bygone, I don't see any.. robot-ness in JAIS, they seem more like an overly-emotional human, though admittedly I haven't interacted with JAIS much. I don't hate the character, but I wouldn't know she was a shell if not for the name.
  7. I mean.. you don't have to play a character before applying with them. My head of security was played *once* as a visitor before I applied, and I got accepted. Be a good player, come up with a good backstory, and it's not hard to get accepted.
  8. Most of this looks okay, but I don't think a book in Arabic makes much sense. Arabic is pretty much a dead language at this point.
  9. -1 This steals an idea for a future character, coalf pls ban he.. Seriously though, looks good, promotes dominian memes, +1.
  10. I don't like the idea of medical charging for treatment honestly. I play a character that canonically couldn't pay for that treatment, does that mean I'm screwed if they're the only ones in medical? Am I supposed to break character? The factions need to be more than "unga dunga money/fwinds/science," in my opinion. I'd like if this was implemented, it's a good concept, but the factions should be a bit more unique.
  11. I'd like to see this if we could involve everyone in it. Medical, security, and engineering pretty much just get ignored here. As someone who plays security 99% of the time, this idea doesn't seem to add much for me, or the rest of security. Threatening the harmbaton a miner or two for not wanting to work in a job they OOCly didn't pick and don't want to do isn't what I want to spend a round doing, and medical and engineering just get left out completely.
  12. -1 from me. This is far too silly to be accepted in my opinion. We're talking about a workplace here, you wouldn't wear knight armor to work in real life (hopefully). What has Malakai convinced he's a knight in the first place? The entire backstory seems out of place, considering he's on a high-tech research station in 2460.

    IPC mod slots

I would be fine with HUDs, but other than that, IPCs are already the best/most power-gamey race, buffing them more wouldn't be a great idea.
  14. Doesn't this kind of defeat the point of tators? If everyone can self-antag by joining the mafia, why even have traitors in the game? Why would NT hire people who constantly protest and disrupt the station? It's not like they're short on workers, they could replace people easily. The suggestion has a lot of issues (self-antagging, against NT interests, etc.) that would need to be fleshed out before it's even considered.
  15. This This
  16. I'm giving this a reluctant -1. OOCly you seem pretty cool, you've got that going for you. My interaction with BOB hasn't been very notable, he's not a great character, but he's decent. Most of the application is average, nothing out of the ordinary. The character and backstory is where the problem is in my opinion. There is *zero* conflict in his backstory, not a thing. I get that IPC backstories are hard to make, but he's gotta have more than "im a therapy brobot roboticist and now im on the aurora." See the problem in there? He just seems like a flat character overall, fix that and I'd probably give this a +1. AlsO :B:An sYnTHs kEk
  17. The backstory is still one paragraph too short, very basic, and not very good in my opinion. You made him an unbound but he has viax in his name. The last part of the name is still messed up. The edits didn't improve much at all.
  18. Gonna have to give this a -1, this doesn't show understanding of Vaurca. The first few questions are okay, the answers seem exaggerated, even a bit fake, but I can't read emotions, so whatever. Now onto the character itself, this is where it really goes downhill in my opinion. First off, the name is wrong. He's Akaix, even though he's bound. Viax is bound, Akaix is unbound. The "Vehx'brogh'tavh" is wayyyy too long, the part of the name after Viax/Akaix is supposed to be a single syllable. In terms of a backstory.. what is that? He's a bound merchant with independent thought and self-awareness? Lotta problems there. Why would the Queen of a hive send a bound guy(?) to do intellectual work? Overall, this application has a ton of flaws that need to be addressed. Note: Info taken from wiki, if that's wrong or outdated, blame the maintainerz vhor it not me! I could've also missed something, but I like to blame other people.
  19. I really don't like the "he did it so I can" thing. An IAA is not supposed to be actively involved in security work. Just because an assistant did, doesn't mean you should get involved in it. You should run from conflict, not go punch the antag, you shouldn't try to make your character the hero. You're a desk jockey who faxes things to Central, not an action movie hero. Uphold the standards of RP that a whitelisted player is obligated to, don't justify actions with "he/she did this so it's okay!" y'know? And uh, can we keep this discussion civil? No need for this to get heated, we're all spessman buddies here.
  20. I'll give this a +1. Great experiences ingame with this person. The backstory is kinda short, but the application looks good overall.
  21. Being fired, demoted, or fined doesn't matter. Removing brig time removes all consequences, why do I care if I lose 500 credits for one round? If I get demoted, whatever! Only lasts an hour or so, right? If I get brig time, it's a real punishment that I care about and try to avoid.
  22. -1 from me. I haven't seen much of you ingame, but you seem to be decent at least. The backstory is nothing, "i live now i'm a doctor" isn't a backstory. It seems like the character is just meant for you and Cassy Hendricks, and RP with everyone else is secondary. The rest of the application is average at best, the usual stuff. Until the backstory gets fixed, I can't support this application.
  23. I'm really against drugs that aren't mechanically useful being a part of the traitor uplink. Some dude selling screen colorizing stuff isn't an engaging, or interesting, gimmick. If it injects tricord or something, instead of colorizing your screen, sure, but that's a bit different.
  24. Use the format. https://forums.aurorastation.org/viewtopic.php?f=38&t=9523
  25. He'd get promoted by staying with the Company and being competent. He doesn't have to live, breathe, and worship the company to be promoted. And as I said, you should eliminate most, if not all, of the stuff about him wanting to avoid boring patrols and have a thrilling job, since the usual shift is calm and boring in-canon.
