you are if they overstep their boundaries and do your job for you, or if you want to roleplay on the roleplaying server. "improve don't remove" is a flawed method to deal with things that can't be reworked and/or nobody wants to rework. keeping something in limbo forever doesn't do anything, quite literally. take a look at gamemodes that people regularly complain about for an example.

"non-character" implies having no depth nor interactability at all. that's how i interpreted it, at least. more marooning or HuT, i guess.

i agree with the mentions of borgs being overbearing and being/doing all of the mechanics and work, but having none of the character or interaction. while i personally can see the appeal of relaxing and not having to play a character (i.e. just doing game mechanics stuff), maintenance drones exist pretty much for this purpose. its a roleplaying server. i disagree. most borgs i have personally seen are nowhere close to related to cyborgification. i.e. most are hardwired, androids, and/or not created by cyborgification (as in the execution).

i second this.

this is being tweaked by a open PR of mine.

2 dismissals Shifting the Connotation: Staff Complaints
Gem replied to Caelphon's topic in Rejected Policy
i don't personally see how using a euphemism would encourage people to use staff complaints more. i think its fine as is, since it's quite literally a staff complaint. voting for dismissal. -
my feedback is that i'm not really a fan of the focus on security and command during events. everyone else is basically left to find their own fun and/or treat the round as extended. the redocking event wasn't enjoyable on my part. 2 tile wide hallways and extremely long distances to walk with unclear locations (though written by someone on the floor, thank you whoever did that) made the map very exhausting to navigate. the bar was also copypasted from the Aurora and had no event staff manning it (as far as i could see), which made for a confusing "relaxing spot" experience. i also found it unenjoyable that the Caravaggio or whats-its-name turned on the ship, activated its guns, and basically amounted to "comply or die", even if this wasn't the case OOCly, as came forward after that event round finished. overall, i don't feel that the event really changed anything. i think Dreamy elaborates on it really well above.

i don't really agree with any part of this suggestion. the game doesn't need 10 new department-departments where 1 role is part of each. the commissary is kind of redundant since operations, merchants, and away ships already fill this purpose really well.

most things mentioned in this thread is part of my port deck 3 remap.
-
i think the way it is now with having to manually slow the ship down works fine.

done. https://github.com/Aurorastation/Aurora.3/pull/14772

i think this is due to the nature of everything being "front facing" in-game. if fore was up then bridge crew would be staring at their character's backs.

i support this application. lone is eager and posts possible improvements to the wiki almost every day. +1

Hall of Fame Application to Immortalize the Hall of Fame
Gem replied to Lonefly's topic in Hall Of Fame Applications
i support this application. -
it's fine as-is. think of the horizon like a skyscraper and it makes sense.
-
adding more maintenance would be hard without a complete remap to make the ship bigger.

Change Power Loss Behavior for Shutters and Blast Doors

i made a PR to address this suggestion. link: https://github.com/Aurorastation/Aurora.3/pull/14634 -
sounds like a good way to make borers more bearable. +1

i wholly disagree with this suggestion. as i've said in another similar thread, you already can't use cameras on code green and AI's who use them to validhunt get canned.
-
i agree. i'd rather know immediately what the gamemode is than having to go around it by ghosting round start or guessing by the manifest. we should have a way to randomly vote for the gamemode, as others have said, if this is implemented.

i agree with this suggestion. we already have paralysis and paincrit let you see around you with a white haze. i don't see why people are so afraid of a simple QoL change.
