  1. There isn't really a skill-based way to prevent this that does not involve metagaming that shaw is a vampire, though.
  2. In the most recent Vampire round at the time of this post, Solomon Shaw (would like to preface this by saying there was escalation and RP to the fights and that I do not hold ill will towards their player) used Veil Walk extensively to the point that every single engagement led to them being able to just fuck off through the wall and continue the chase for more or less the next two hours. I don't blame them for this, it's simply the smart thing to do when you are getting fifty tranq darts and bullets shoved down your throat. What I do blame is the fact that Veil Walk can be used this extensively in the first place. At some point during the round, I had successfully landed a Tranq dart on Shaw. They went under while Veil Walking (which I didn't even know could happen) and remained in Veil Walk for the next three minutes straight as all of security stared at them. It never wore off, the tranq dart DID wear off, and then they went right back through the walls and continued the manhunt. While antags having escape options is nice and good for the server, it should not be nearly this fool-proof and consequence-free. It sure as hell shouldn't last multiple minutes straight, at the least. I think the blood cost of Veil Walk should rise significantly, and preferably that a cooldown of some sort is placed on it, as this is pretty unfun to deal with as security.
  3. It's pretty simple. They asked you to stop because they were just genuinely trying to find someone to play with, and you proceeded to continue after multiple repeated requests to stop. The links to chatGPT games was after like the third request to stop. Thus you broke the don't be a dick rule.
  4. As the HoS that was getting scolded, I will say that it would be nice to tone down the command radio arguing. It's pretty hard to stay involved with whatever is going on when the entirety of command radio is people arguing with Shaw.
  5. Hi. I'm willing to give you a second chance since this was your first ban. Just keep in mind to pay attention to the metagaming rules and such so this doesn't happen again. Appeal accepted.
  6. As a surgeon main, I really like this idea because it actually gives the poor physicians something to do instead of having to throw bone patients at the OR at mach ten by requirement, and past that it adds some much needed variation to injuries to switch the medical assembly line up a bit. I think adding a specific bonechem (throwing Osteodine as a name out) is better than using calcium, as I think a simple electrolyte growing bones however slowly is really goofy. On that note, I think having calcium be a component of a chem that makes bone injuries less likely could be cool as a preventative supplement. Another concern I have is how complicated the bone surgeries/fixing can get. Firstly, I think Stress/Hairline should be renamed to Stress/Bruise. Secondly, I think the requirement for bone chem on this one should be gone just to give solo physicians and whatnot better usefulness (even if the medbay has it at roundstart). Thirdly, I think it would be neat if Comminuted Fracture caused blood loss to simulate losing bone marrow. Maybe replace the Hemostat step with the vascular recoupler.
  7. This is how it went for me. An ahelp came in that the Xenobiologist had let all the slimes/monkeys loose and DC'd at a desk. I teleported over to you, and you were standing, DC'd (without ahelping that you had to leave or using a cryo chamber, which is also against the rules) and you had at LEAST 25 slimes surrounding you with blood all on the floors and the corpses of monkeys strewn about. There is basically no way to do this on accident and it is certainly not "running correctly" when basically all of the slimes have broken loose. This looked like plain griefing, and honestly I still stand by the verdict. I'm not really willing to believe you simply went AFK when all the slimes were running amok. That being said, is this an unban request or a staff complaint? It is written as being the latter, as unban appeals are for when you admit fault and acknowledge the ban. Can just move it over to the right section on the forums if so.
  8. A lot of people have issues remembering the chemicals as is, and reverting them right back (though I would like to do so) would make the issue even worse, and basically everyone would have to re-remember wtf each funny liquid does. For that reason, don't think its a good idea. Personally I think the realism argument is kinda goofy. Its a space game and many other video games have completely botched medications. Simply ignore the med students or tell them to touch grass, problem solved. Still, don't think reverting is a good idea just to avoid confusion. -1
  9. Hi. My big issues are as follows. Firstly, your history is pretty bad. You have regular bans warnings, and multiple antag bans with basically all of them having similar reasoning. On top of this, your playtime seems to be pretty sparse. You played a few rounds today seemingly and past that its been on and off every few weeks. This is not really enough to gauge whether or not you have improved your roleplay ability and frankly I'm not really comfortable with giving you the benefit of the doubt this time. Appeal denied.
  10. Hi. Me and @Afya are taking this. Give us another day or so to come to a resolution.
  11. Okay so upon being informed further on your history, you actually have other permabans besides this one that I somehow missed. Generally you run out of chances after two bans, and you have another on record and more besides. This is denied.
  12. Hi. I'm willing to give you a second chance here, but understand that you are on some very thin ice regarding rulebreaking as you had a particularly bad streak leading up to this. Please read the rules carefully before logging on to play. Thanks.
  13. It wasnt brought up until it was finished because it hadn't happened to completion until it finished ie you had a chance to generate interaction. The permanent removal is not at all heavy handed and you have a massive history, including bans, regarding antag play. There isn't a rule for every single little thing that can happen in the rules, and as I've said multiple times, the rule you break falls under this one.
  14. It does cover this. For example, here. Stealth means no interaction.
  15. You had no chances to interact because the gimmick you were doing didn't allow it. The stealth gimmick was not forced on you, you just went with it. Additionally, that rule quite literally means breaking in using stealth and then starting a firefight are against the rules. I cannot understand the rules for you.
  16. You were singled out in that regard because of your very poor history. The others did not have major history of bad antag play.
  17. Actually, you were dead. You were killed in the initial firefight. You claim that I forbade you from participating in the round, but you quite literally couldn't because you were dead.
  18. I am going to preface this by saying that I do not know you. Like, at all. That being said, it makes NO sense to say that I personally targeted you despite having absolutely no clue who you are. Secondly, you did break the rules. Your gimmick was to board the station, crack the vault stealthily by your own admission, and leave. This provides ZERO interaction with the crew and in the event the mercs get caught, which you were, it ends in all the antags being killed/arrested/fled by 45 minutes in, which is exactly what happened. This is against the rules because it generates very poor antag interactions and basically invalidates the round for everyone else. There was no narrative, and no story. Your claim that it is not written in the rules is blatantly false. Here is a screenshot from the tab that opens when you click 'Rules' on the UI. By the phrasing of this rule, you blatantly broke it by your own admission. I never told you that you were not allowed to finish the round. You by all means could have stuck around and played for the rest of the duration if you wanted to. Additionally, your platform of notes and bans were related to your antagonist play. Most of them were due to escalation, but all of them still stemmed from antagonist play. We do not look for super specific notes to influence our decisions because it would mean people would constantly break different rules and never get punished just because it wasn't the same exact circumstance every time. You broke rules so often as antag that you have warnings and even bans stemming from it, so you have lost all benefit of the doubt when it comes to your antagonist play, and hence why I placed a permanent ban. You simply do not understand what playing an antagonist properly is.
  19. Right. I am not going to be accepting this ban appeal. The primary reason is because, to my knowledge, you've not really been playing the game since you got your antag ban outside of a few rounds, which means you likely don't have a grasp on what playing as a not-antag is like and just want to play antag. That combined with the fact that your appeal is a solid one sentence long leaves me to believe you have not changed. You can re-appeal in one month, but if you want ANY chance of it being accepted, you should get a decent amount of good playtime before you do so.
  20. gonna be real chief that backstory says like nothing about your character
  21. most of these are fairly LRP and don't make a lot of believable sense to even happen on the ship. Though I do think the scrubbers one is a good idea. It may only involve one job (that is indeed played) but that still gives atmos techs something to do when they really don't have a lot going for them on most rounds.
