  1. not going to post a defense or whatever until the proper format is up, but I believe the round ID for this was clE-aC4Y to put it out there
  2. I'm pretty sure Mel is one of the few people in this community that basically nobody dislikes due to her attitude and general likability. This compounds with her PHENOMENAL rp skills and of course, on top of all of that, her phenomenal work in keeping the best part of the server alive. The Space Whale. +1
  3. Sleepers are still the only way to perform stomach pumps and dialysis and really are never used for chemical injections to begin with. They are used basically exclusively for those two things and have been this way for a long time. The same is to be said with cryotubes. The one niche with cryotubes is healing genetic damage, that is it. Nobody uses them for "critical patient chemical injection" or anything, like, ever outside of some fringe cases. On them outclassing every other peice of machinery, medical only has, like, four pieces. Two of them have specific niche uses, one is just a body scanner and the last, the OR table, is used for surgery which the stasis beds can no longer do.
  4. I very much disagree with the line of thinking that we should be removing things in medical with the pure reason of making the department more difficult. It isn't the easiest to play as is, despite what some like to think, and making it more difficult will not make it any more interesting or fun to play, it will just make it all the more tedious. -1
  5. Alright, I really should not have to say this, but here goes. I need to remind you all that this is supposed to be a discussion, not a place to vent your anger and straight up insult other players. I understand that you all have strong feelings about the topic and that you care deeply about the state of the server and where it is going, but you have to keep it civil so that it does not just derail the original thread like it already has. That being said, if you intend on bashing on other people for their opinions, do not post. I will be applying warnings to anyone that steps over the line from here on out. Disagreeing with someone and refuting their point/defending yours is fine, but insults and accusations are not going to fly. Be adults. If you don't know if what you are going to post is over the line, DM me and I will tell you.
  6. The CE is in charge of maintaining an engine that utilizes a super death crystal that could vaporize half the ship if it overloads, multiple weapons systems including a massive experimental energy cannon, and on top of that the entirety of the ship's other functions. Technically all of engineering has to do this, but the CE has the extra burden of having to know off the top of their head what makes these systems work, whereas engineers can ask question, usually asking the CE. I think all of that is worthy of a Doctorate requirement, personally. Plus, all the experimental stuff with the temperamental engines and the giga death laser can easily fit to the research role you mentioned. Going to have to -1 this one.
  7. For the first point, your flavor text involved claiming that your character was Top Heavy, and saying that their shirt looked too tight for it right after. We do not allow FTs that describe breast size, even vaguely, and have not for years. Just because nobody noticed for this long does not mean it is allowed. It breaks the rules, plain and simple. Below is the ticket logs for this. As for the warning applied for LOOC usage, this is the first message I initially talked to you about. This is just complaining about the verdict in LOOC, which is not allowed, as it is not what LOOC is for. After I told you not to do this, you continued to complain about me telling you not to complain in LOOC, in LOOC. You did not say you were asked to stop, you said this. This is the ticket logs for the LOOC case. You are being combative about it and generally rude.
  8. Hi, given convo in DMs and the fact this is your first ban, I am willing to give you a second shot. Make sure to read the rules and make a proper character this time!
  9. Right, having looked at your notes, this is not the first time you have been noted for misuse of LOOC. Thus what the original purpose of the ticket was is now irrelevant to me, as you are doing something that you know full well you shouldn't be, whether or not it can be considered spamming. Mostly saying this to dispel the talk I'm starting to see about the true purpose of the ticket/ what rule was broken. This is more a thing to make a suggestion about, since what Cybs noted you for is more along the lines of misusing OOC after being talked to about it in the past. I don't think I can say its unfair to note you over this since you've been talked to about it before and know what the expectation is. Overall, I do not see anything wrong with how Cybs handled this. It's something that has been brought up to you before and is something you are aware about expectation wise. I do agree that the rules on it should be clearer, but the kicker is that this isn't the first time. Unless I missed something, I am going to close this in 24 hours.
  10. Hi. Apologies for taking so long to actually respond to this one. There is no excuse for it besides myself just being occupied and forgetting entirely. From what I can see, this whole deal is about overuse of LOOC. LOOC is primarily to be used for technical issues and questions, and from your examples as well as from some I have seen myself, you seem to like using it to make comments a lot. This in itself isn't usually bad, and is perfectly fine every once in a while. But you do it a LOT, which can and will start to disrupt roleplay. The best example I can think of this is whenever anyone has a meeting with most of the crew involved in a public place. If you've ever seen what LOOC turns into during stuff like that, then you probably know how it can be distracting. What you have done isn't quite on that level, but its still enough to be a distraction to those around you, and thus outside the bounds of what LOOC is for. That being said, what all was done administration wise, was this just you being told not to do it so much and thats it? I don't believe this is something that warrants an actual punishment, since to my knowledge this has not been brought up before now.
  11. To be honest, this doesn't entirely convince me that you've changed. You didn't put the full reason for your ban, your appeal in itself is rather generic and doesn't tell me much of anything, and to my knowledge you have had very little playtime since your ban. With your note history, I don't feel comfortable unbanning you until I see improvement in game. Start playing more, and appeal in a month or so, then we'll see. Appeal Denied.
  12. it's not that I expect the worst of people, its that surgeons are there to do surgery, and physicians do general care. If you remove that boundary, now everyone does the same thing and people either have to butt in or get butted out. There's no lanes anymore.
  13. Then there are four people fighting for it, same issue
  14. This will just result in six slots fighting to do the same thing, or people going behind one another's back to take the patients.
  15. Given gem's new PR, I am going to drop my opinion here. Removal of the surgeon is a bad idea for multiple reasons. For one thing, everyone in medical having the same job now is going to be a trainwreck. We used to have four surgeon slots, and it always ended up with two surgeons actually using the ORs and the other two not doing anything. You can say "well they can just do GTR work then" but if we do that then we just have the exact same setup as we do now with way less flavour. Two ORs, two people for surgery. Having surgeons and Physicians as being distinct offers a lot more character growth, as most players do think about this distinction when making their medical char. Just blending everything together makes it all samey and boring. Nobody has their special thing, with physicians being great at general care and surgeons being great at, well ,surgery. Saying this gets rid of the chart is not a very great argument either because the chart nowadays boils down to physicians not being allowed to do anything with organs. That's it. If people cannot understand that, they should not be playing medical. Overall this change just takes away and doesn't really do anything for the game but make medical into a moshpit of six people fighting for the same job. It's a bad idea. -1
  16. Prisoners are still capable of escaping if they are put into HuT, doubly so if nobody is watching them. Other antagonists can let them out, traitors can use TC to spawn things to escape with, and so on. marooning just dumps whoever it is out of the round completely.
  17. I agree with this. Marooning has essentially become the norm when it comes to captured antagonists. It's the new HuT. Stranding every criminal on a barren rock doesn't really make a lot of sense IC or OOCly, so restricting it to uncontainable things makes sense. Stranding the cultist who has teleported out of the brig four times makes sense. Stranding the remaining merc after they got swacked does not.
  18. Okay, after painstakingly looking through logs as well as this thread a few times, I believe I have come to a conclusion. Overall, I believe your behavior has been very poor, and not reflective of what we consider decent for a player. You play Devil's Advocate a lot, half the time with no real reason beyond doing it just for the sake of it during arguments over the state of Aurora's events. You say that people are getting mad at you and saying you have no opinion because you do not play, but at the same time you constantly chastise other people's opinions when they do play, like I said, playing Devil's Advocate. This has been brought up many times, you know not to do this, yet you continue anyway. This conversation about throwaway characters in particular comes to mind. This led to people getting upset because you keep contradicting the general opinion despite having not played in events for a long time. This is an issue. On the subject of the complaint involving abuse, I really believe you misuse the term abuse to make people that disagree with you look worse. The main instance is the argument on discord regarding the pride flag spam where you claim someone is using the language of your abusers simply because they were upset about your attitude. This is not something to label someone an abuser over. ESPECIALLY in a complaint on the forums with a link to the definition of mental abuse, which was over the top and unneccessary. The pride flag issue itself was also something you started, by spamming pride flag emojis on everything the same person posted, leading to a lot of annoyance and an argument with the current loremaster. In addition, you show a consistent tendency to derail conversations, sometimes with a made up position and other times with something completely irrelevant to the conversation, such as bringing up what people sent you in DMs after being asked to explain your position or bringing up cloning changes during something else. This just throws conversations out of whack and prevents people from talking seriously about things, which is not okay. All of that coupled with other behaviors, such as being condescending and arguing in bad faith, shows a toxic attitude that is not welcome on this server. If you are not going to treat others with respect and good faith, then you are not going to be allowed in the community. You have been told about this and warned about this countless times, and show no signs of changing, especially since you stand by all of them, as per your responses to this thread. For that reason, I am going to be applying a permanent ban to your account both for discord and the game until appeal. This complaint is considered resolved, and if there is nothing else, I will be locking and archiving it tomorrow.
  19. My main question with this is how antags in general are handled. Is this just spawning antags as normal but giving them the option of on station or off, or is this going to start spawning multiple antags all the time? Like vamp traitor or ling merc or so on. Because I'm of the opinion that the latter would result in constant clusterfucks that involve little RP before everything goes to hell.
  20. I'm still mulling over logs and things, but whilst I do that I'll address some things that have come up since my last post. This complaint is about your past behavior and a pattern of toxic attitude/derailment. It encompasses much more than calling you toxic "for calling out abuse" and I gave Cael permission to post with his piece because it is relevant, and not unfounded. This complaint mostly has recent things, at least the past six months. I am going to stress again that I have deemed Alberyk's strike irrelevant. Stop posting about it. That goes for everyone here. With the wording you used, I am really confused about what you are asking me here.
  21. Going to take this opportunity to say that nobody should post on this without actual evidence to back it up, and only if you are actually involved. DM me on discord if you aren't sure if you fall into the involved category.
  22. Hi. I'm going to be taking this complaint. Give me a bit to re-read it all and come up with a response as there is a LOT to read and review here and the logs on discord which I will probably go look at myself as well. As a preface in case replies go out whilst I do the above, I am going to address some things that stand out to me. To my knowledge as former lorestaff, this is not true. New staff are not warned about your existence, at least not as far as I am aware. Either way, this incident and things surrounding it is relatively irrelevant to the complaint, please cease talking about it. This incident in particular is also irrelevant. Things done to you do not justify what you do to others. Cease talking about this as well. In general, be careful about what is brought up here. This is about an alleged pattern of behavior regarding derailing conversations and general toxicity, and anything not directly involved with that should not be discussed. While the timing does make it look retaliatory, I will say there is enough stuff on this complaint to take it seriously regardless, not that I've come to any decisions yet. Please don't bring this up again either. With that out of the way, I'll reply again soon with questions and-or maybe a verdict after ive reviewed everything.
  23. I think 30 percent is a happy middle ground. 20 percent and below you are essentially on death's door, but realistically flat unconciousness should at least happen before that. Good change either way, won't be heartbroken if more people want the 20 percent.
  24. Ditto with this. Vampires being forced to either kill or get instantly exposed is just lame, and really just dumbs down vampires by a lot to begin with, making them a TDM antag, essentially. Only so much roleplay is going to happen when killing has to be the end result.
