This i would be fine with, and i think this is probably the best route to go, perhaps combining with an emote/delay on the transformation to help deter public spam

Honestly if the ban expires today, it'll expire before an admin gets to this.

A duty officer is basically the Internal Affairs of Central Command (CCIA). We answer faxxes sent to CC from the station, send out announcements, sometimes come on station to inspect departments, or deal with troublesome people in an IC manner.

If you wanted, it may be possible to have them mimic the functionality of the firing range ear protection, which essentially makes you deaf while wearing them

[Rescinded] Alex Ketane's Kosmic Systems Speaker Application
SierraKomodo replied to SirXenomorph's topic in Denied Apps
That and copyright laws -
Personally, I think making it a temporary effect would be the best fix to the issues. As genetics no longer exists, it's now impossible to change back unless the antag decides to change you back.

No. For the love of god no. -
What if NT had a 'volunteer' with a 'signed consent' form?

Uberzweihander's IPC Whitelist App.

+1 I approve of the backstory, and I like that this isn't just another purely synthetic, or MMI become logical type of IPC. -

Staff Complaint - Garnascus
SierraKomodo replied to CampinKiller's topic in Staff Complaints Archive
Alright this thread has a lot of reported posts, alot of posts being made by staff members that I'd normally be binning but can't because they're staff, and this seems to be going off topic. Again. Locked until an admin can get in here to clean things up and sort out what to do. -
Staff Complaint - Garnascus
SierraKomodo replied to CampinKiller's topic in Staff Complaints Archive
I'm going to mention that during this round, one of the antags in question, Rin Fukuimoto, was involved in reported gank 3 times in one round. The first incident, she flashed the CE without a word, dragged him into maint with the other two engineers, and they killed him without a word. She was given a warning not to do it again by a mod, who left before the second and third incidents (I know this because I could still see ahelps at the time).. The second incident was the HoS/Detective ambush which has already been brought up and discussed, and Garn handled. The third incident? Rin knocked over Trucy Faraday, dragged her into the brig restroom, and killed her without a word as well. Garnascus response to that when I ahelped it and said that was literally the exact same thing she was just warned about at the beginning of the round? 'When your permabrigged, everything is valid' or something to that effect. I really have a problem with staff taking stances like that to incidents that clearly violate rules and would have warranted action by staff members a few months ago. What changed? I know Skull told us the other day that 'Its newcode, we can expect people to do this', but is that really a valid excuse? To just let people start breaking rules, and watch the station degrade to medium/low RP levels of fuckery 'because lel newcode'? -
Those ERT hardsuits are not as good as you think. It took 1 EMP to completely shut me down and make me useless; ERT also doesn't get access to any extra ammunition so we're stuck with the single clip in whatever gun we're carrying. Honestly felt like ERT was severely underpowered compared to what we were coming up against int he round earlier today.

Can we come up with a list of what different biohazard levels, from 1 to 7, could mean? I'd imagine there'd be one for things like a slime outbreak, toxins leak (The canisters are labelled Toxin (BIO) after all), xenobiological entities, etc
-
It also completely destroys the engine and most of engineering.

On old code, I had Katana setup to spawn with an engineering beret and a sec beret, so that she'd always have a beret when she spawns in. Just part of her outfit. The black jumpsuit is just because she /used/ to wear the black alt jumpsuit before redsec became bluesec. It's not supposed to look like ERT/DO/anything of that sort. Also, Katana's never been used for ERT/DO protection

At the moment on new code, mining is borked and it's near impossible to find any resources, so that's likely a major part of the issue.

I have been successfully annoyed by flashing red text, Delta. Thread locked and archived by the OP's request.

Honestly, it should be relatively simple to define a specific item size between the nuke disc and research discs, assuming it's a simple variable definition like other things.

I do like the idea of miasma. However, I'm not too keen on it being a thing that sets in quickly or has too severe of an effect; You have to remind that if the station gets into a code red/lots of death situation, aint nobody going to have time to deal with corpses and blood, and making those corpses and blood start killing people within 10 minutes is just crippling the station even more in a situation where the station may already be, for lack of abetter term, utterly fucked. I'd recommend making it more along the lines of 30 minutes, and make the effects a little less severe. Instead of giving a random virus or something that could potentially become a fatal bio-bomb, start it off as a putrid odor. 10-15 minutes later, if you're within it long enough, you can get minor lung and/or eye infections. It'll have a clearly noticeable effect, but this leaves the results more open to a heavy-RP environment, and less arbitrarily-ganky of a mechanic when things start going south.

Hm, here's a thought. Have the fire alarms flash between 'white' and a color denoting which department the alert cover: Engineering: Orange Security: Blue Medbay: Green Research: Purple If it's a global blue alert, then it just flashes white. EDIT: We could also make it a 'Yellow Alert' instead of 'Blue', and use yellow instead of white as the flashing color.

A wheelchair's probably a better idea

One major problem I can see with this is with how cargo tugs currently work, you'll essentially be immune to every form on non-lethal takedown method security has available. You'll be immune to tasers, stunbatons, and flashes while on it.
