  1. I don't agree with the feedback of having no events off of the station. Although the map was rough, I think that events off station means that the characters and the players need to think differently from what they are used to. However my criticism of the map was that it had the look and feeling as though it was made without enough time placed on the mapper. Any maps made can be reused in the future so I would hate to see the event team go by the methodology of 'its just for a one off' as well. Decorations can always be tweaked to suit different factions. Moreover any places that aren't the Horizon are a great way to show the different ways a station might be laid out or constructed based on the lore/wealth of any place.
  2. Matt has both the level headed-ness and creativity neccessary for the role of human lore deputy. Any questions I might have had have already been covered but I wanted to toss a +1 it's way nonetheless.
  3. This seems like something that would more appropriately require the unathi/tajara lore team's approval, not input.
  4. IPCs against a laser will very quickly just melt and die but if an IPC is approaching you and taking damage, that is a self preservation issue and very ahelpable. Although in regards to a potential para-pen, I do think having Overloaders added into the game would be interesting. I am however wary of what changing the dynamic could mean, since for about 3 years IPC antagging was made impossible by the ion rifle and in how you could suddenly die because someone off screen spammed EMP grenades.

While I am nowhere near great, I believe my experience sprinting and my traditional art background can be applied to my knowledge regarding sprites. Until the above PR, my work was lumped into PRs from other contributors (usually Stryker's). However if need be, my credit can be confirmed in any of the relevant PRs to the below assets. I made the unbranded sprite: I recoloured the below suits as well as recoloured existing Golden Deep assets in order to have them better reflect their respected materials: (old = top) I think that this isn't relevant anymore, given that I (think) the IPC chassis’ are black and white by default now, but I originally updated the G2 sprite before that change. I made some antennae for IPCs: I made a number of flags as well as tweaked the colourable trench coat. I also made the 2x1 Zavodskoi flag: I do not believe these lab coats are in game any longer but I recoloured the labcoats to make two Zeng-hu variants plus the transparent gloves and apron: I recoloured and made a number of premade lipstick colours to suit actual real life shades and a few fun colours: I’ve also previously added baseline screens and fixed the issue where they were animating too quickly. However, since it’s been so long, I am unsure which are mine or are by other contributors in the community or ported from polaris. I also made the Synthetic title cards: Additional Comments: I would hope that by being taken on as a developer, it would give me the availability to work with other teams in order to provide art for the wiki or title screens as well. If not, that’s of course fine. I suspect I will only be able to review PRs that focus solely on sprites as well. Some things I wouldn't mind adding are new flowers and sprite improvements to the current flowers, the ability to make flower bouquets in hydroponics, resprites of a lot of the grown fruits/vegetables/etc and with lore approval, a portable mind wiping device for IPCs.
  7. To add onto the thread, during a recent round with 0 players, vines erupted in the central ring and due to the power outage, spread to the far corners of the station. What is the point of random encounters when the manifest is 0? No one is going to want to play the carpal tunnel simulator alone and so the round simply sat empty while players waited for it to hit the 2 hour mark. Any of the random encounters that can spawn with a manifest of zero should be re-evaluated. If we want the blob, sure, but it's chances of spawning needs to be greatly reduced along with both engineering and medical being staffed and at best with a 15 player minimum.

  9. A fair point. I wouldn't mind pushing for it's entire removal as well. It takes Engineers away from roleplay and with the work needed to not only repair but refill maintenance (which is a nightmare by z levels alone), it is agonizing.
  10. Blobs on low-pop are an absolute nightmare and have been a consistent thorn during the Australian afternoon-evening and early morning European hours. As such, I wanted to request that their spawn rate be vastly changed and will only spawn if certain roles on the manifest are filled as well as a minimum population. A lot of these low-pop rounds where I’ve witnessed a blob have had anywhere from 3-6 characters on the manifest. The biggest hurdle in my opinion I’ve noticed is a lack of medical during these hours. If the engineers in question aren’t IPCs, there’s a high risk the character will simply die because no one can treat them from any mishap. As such, I'd be wary of a blob requiring exclusively engineering to spawn. The second hurdle then being a lack of Engineering. A blob can be a nightmare if it’s only one person in engineering online. Or, even worse if there is no one in engineering (which I thought wasn't possible but I have seen). I cannot comment on the effectiveness of security fighting a blob on their own but as I understand it, it’s not really feasible. Thus I don't know if they should be considered for the manifest requirement.

  12. After reading the replies I no longer support the suggestion. Having smoking being regulated to very specific places will mean no one smokes or a few people yell at anyone who does. I think that the flavor that smoking offers is fine. It is banned where it needs to be. Let people have their aesthetic without marching across the station to do it.
  13. I like the idea but I am also in favor of keeping lounge spaces around. I'd be careful not to make the room too big though. Or, maybe multiple smoking rooms are a good idea. One issue the Aurora had was if two conversations are going on in the same space, it can be a bit of a nightmare.
  14. I've had a lot of fun with the roleplay between your Chief and my Z.I. along with seeing you ensure that myself, or any apprentice engineer, is being taught or shadowed while on shift. Big +1 from me.

  17. Could I request that the Bridge Crew Flight Hat (I think I have the name right) is added to the lockers? Since it seems hat code overrides spawning with them. As is the lockers only have the uniform body piece.

  22. I like that there's more use of darker colours across the board. Although personally I'd advise against using pillow shading. With it, the uniforms have a more rounded shape to the body as well an unclear light source. Zav_old is a good example of utilizing shadows to it's advantage with a more clearly defined light source. Maybe a blend of your palette along with the old shadows would suit the uniforms better. Especailly cpnsidering the old uniforms have nearly imperceptible shadows. Additionally, I think what was supposed to be breast pockets on the original uniform look more akin to folds if a character has breasts when zoomed out on the revised versions. I don't know if this is just me seeing that though. Here's a good example of what pillow shading is:
  23. The corporations should reflect a clear identity through their design and the players should pop against the background. I think a revert would suit the server's aesthetic a lot better.
  24. I think you have the passion and drive for the role as synthetic deputy. An easy +1 from me. I don't have any questions however I don't agree with your view on Zavodskoi IPCs. The death bot named character trope is a player issue and is irrelevant to the lore that is written. Removing something because a small batch of players cause issues isn't a good way to approach lore. What it likely spawns from is the lingering knowledge or tropes from Necropolis which as years go on, should resolve itself. There have been and are a lot of fantastically written Zavodskoi IPCs.
