Well, then don't complain when we inevitably have to blow the wizard's face off because it is literally impossible for us to contain him safely. I don't really care if the wizards spam their powers so long as they understand the consequences of doing so, namely being shot to death.

...Except you approved someone who had a custom item jumpsuit that was literally a Sol Navy uniform...? When does this rule apply, exactly?
-
Alternatively: Blue/yellow tiles. Better? Worse?
-
Command isn't blue + gold. Command is navy blue + light blue.

Aproved.

There are no baseballs, baseball field, or anything even remotely useful to let you play the game on station. You're also not there to play sports outside of the holodeck. Ergo the only use for a bat is a weapon.

Having to clean up bullet casings isn't something I'd consider a heavy downside. Caseless ammunition. Further, 'they cause problems' can be said of anything in security's arsenal when there's rogue sec or traitors. Stun batons, laser rifles, energy carbines - both equally have access to these far more potent implements that are more viable, so I fail to see how this is also anywhere near a downside. It's like saying chloral causes problems when you have rogue medical or traitors.

Because we're not Bay. Baystation has it's own playerbase and went down to it's own unique hell full of light roleplay, antag-centric gameplay. 1. Rubber bullets don't embed here. Non-issue. 2. Admin staff actually give a shit here. Abusing stuff will get you dealt with, unlike Bay's administration philosophy. 3. Randoms being randoms will be consistent no matter what. They are dealt with here, too, also unlike Bay. I don't see any of what you said being an issue. Skull isn't Asanadas.

We are not Baystation, nor do we have their playerbase.

Okay. For awhile now, Baystation has implemented what I lovingly call 'ballisticurity', that is, security with tasers replaced by less-than-lethal chambered pistols, seen below. Now I know a lot of people immediately will be put off by this, but allow me to explain to you why this is better than our current security loadout, and how the mechanics function. The pistols are .45 caliber and utilize less-than-lethal rubber .45 rounds as part of standard operation. Lethal rounds are available in the armory for emergencies, however. Another ammo type for these guns is called 'flash ammunition' - which is basically what it says on the tin. Signal flares in a sense and they flash people instead of utterly destroying them via bullets. In favor of replacing tasers or making tasers one-shot, I think giving security something like a pistol will lead to better security play. Why? Here is my reasoning. A lot of complaints I see of security involve them physically abusing people by either using excessive force (mutiple taser shots, repeated stun baton hits) - and then nothing happens to the officer, because none of this inflicts lasting damage. Security's first response to a situation is to make employment of their potent non-lethal weaponry, circumventing any analysis of whether this amount of force is needed because there is no repercussion to using it. You can use all 10 stun charges on a dude and he will be physically fine. Pistols change this. Less than lethal rounds inflict minor brute but also agony damage. You can seriously wound someone with four shots. This adds depth to security play - not only is firing your gun wanton irresponsibility, but now when you abuse someone there is severe consequences to their health. So instead of security just rushing in with their baton out to beat people upside the head, now they're faced with a choice - the suspect is non-compliant, my flash will not work because he has glasses. Should I draw my gun? I could seriously injure this person and get into a ton of trouble. Excessive force charges have more weight. I'm sure you've all noticed that there's an increase and harsh crackdown on detectives now who fire their gun for minimal reasons. Imagine if this applied to the whole of security, encouraging them to better assess situations and the proper escalation of force. Now I know some people will think this makes antagging harder. In all honesty, if it was just a taser gun you'd still be screwed. The only difference here is now when sec shoots you they have to worry about killing you, and if they have no reason to kill you, it makes them look bad. Wound infection, broken bones. In order to drop someone with the pistol you'd have to do 20~30 brute, and if the antag situation didn't call for it then the sympathies will be with you. Nuke op armor still resists agony damage, cult robes are immune to it, it doesn't severely weaken antagonist positions. Rather, it opens up a broader range of play for both security and antagonists, because now more thinking is involved. There's consequences to your actions as security, and it is very real. Projectile weapons are kind of crap compared to energy guns most of the time anyway. Less accuracy. Less versatility. WINDOWS!!! So to recap: .45 LTL, 8~10 brute per shot, 60 agony (taser) damage. .45 FLSH, flash rounds. .45 LTHL, for emergencies only. Removal of tasers, energy carbines and pistols keep stun setting, HoS keeps energy pistol. At the very least, maybe a trial run is in order to see how it works out.

Don't have to change text color. Don't have to change Command's colors (the HoS airlock is in that screen and is completely noticeable as not the same shade of blue), and no need to change the HoP or Captan's blue because they're entirely different shades.

Bumping for more input.

I had actually considered some of the points of your previous post in the thread, but then I stopped myself because I realized you lack any sort of credibility since you resort to ad-hominem attacks the moment your ridiculous sec-hatred has some holes blown into it. That's okay, Cassie. If it makes you feel better to insult me and call me incompetent or shit, go ahead. If it makes you feel more secure in your irrational hatred to insinuate that I'm awful at roleplay and Literally Hitler because I don't metagame to make antag's jobs easier, sure. Go ahead. Let it all out of your system babe. It's interesting that you seem to think this all has something to do with me OOC. It doesn't. And never once in that post did I say it did, hence why my grammar involved 'my character'. But I guess if you build a big enough strawman you'll probably end up looking like you're in the right at the end.

Haven't been following the discussion, don't really care to. This is like the 24th topic in my time playing SS13 about security so everything that's been said I've seen before. For the sake of argument, I'll just put down how I conduct myself as security so people can see it from the other side or whatever. 1. Talk shit get hit. Not literally, no, but what this basically means is if you're going to fight me all the way to a cell, physically or otherwise - yes, I am going to bucklecuff you, set your timer, and dump you in there without saying anything. No, you shouldn't expect my character to want to sit there and undergo repeated abuse by your screaming, and you should expect additional time for calling her a cat or something. Respect is a two way street. You're the one who ended up in the brig, not me, bud. 2. Resisting only makes my baton harder. Most of the time I ask you to come with me, depending on the situation. If it's not a violent crime I won't pull a weapon. If you have a gun or are dangerous or are in the middle of something or running, yeah, I'm going to clock you. But if you comply - that doesn't mean repentant, you don't have to kiss my ass or go 'oh officer im so sorry' - and don't make things difficult for Ana she'll be nicer to you and take off time. But in line with #1 if you decide to be a shit you'll be treated like shit. 3. No, Mr. Antag, I expect you to DIE. If you are a serious danger to my character or other characters and don't surrender after repeated warnings I am going to blow your head off and not feel the least bit bad about it. People on this server seem to expect security to roll over and let antagonists get away with everything because it's 'interesting'. I don't. Whether or not someone is an antag is irrelevant to me, I treat them all the same. OOCly modifying IC behavior just because you know the hostage taker is a traitor is in fact metagaming. Metagaming is not good under any circumstances. Most of the time when I have to shoot someone I give them a warning. 'Surrender or lethal force will be used' or similar. And they ignore it. Sometimes I repeat the warning. And they still ignore it. So if it comes to this point and you just blew one of my officer's heads off running, I am going to splatter your grey matter on the floor. Blame yourself for ignoring my warnings. 4. FIVE FUCKING MINUTES. Yeah, you, chef. You just drew 'dick' on the floor. I saw you do it. Vandalism. Come on. Let's go. Oh, no. Now you're going to run. Okay. Go and hide in the cold room. Now you got a knife? Great. Stabbed me while I cracked your head with a baton. You just went from five minutes to permabrig. Good job. Seriously, I have seen so many people, balds, regulars, 'good RPers' go on absolutely stupid nutty rampages because they got charged with a crime so miniscule it'd be like two minutes if they complied, and then they get pissed off when security treats them like shit for making them hunt them down for HALF AN HOUR. If your character is so pompous and arrogant that they'd do that, fine. But don't bitch in OOC. 5. I AM GETTING SHOT AT, FUCK YOU. Hi. There's nuke ops lighting up the station and you just decided to start slipping people with bananas, or teleporting monkeys into security, or leaving animals by radios in random places. Thanks for that. Have fun with extended times. If you consciously choose to be a chucklefuck in a high stress scenario, why are you NOT expecting security to not be in the mood for your shit? Do you think a cop is going to be happy having a pie thrown at him in the middle of a shootout? I have experienced numerous situations on both this server and Bay where people do absolutely retarded shit in red or blue alert in the middle of fighting, and then cry when security has no patience for their bullshit. Yeah, sorry buddy. The Ninja eviscerating people is more important than you being an ass. Have a time out until you learn to be an adult. 6. I HATE SEC BECAUSE I'M SO EDGY. 'omg fuckin redshirts' *gets arrested* 'WHY AREN'T THEY NICE TO ME'. Yet another trope that seems to propagate on every SS13 server is people who hate sec just because or won't comply with sec just because, and then act incredulous when all of the hateful shit slinging they've fired off at security gets them treated like the insufferable dickbutt that they are. If you want security to treat you with dignity, treat them with dignity. You are not entitled to respect. I have been playing security in this game since I started in 2012, and I've seen everything. I've seen people who brown-nose antags so much it looks like they shoved their face into a chocolate cake. I've seen people purposely be idiots at security either to get antags off scott-free or as an OOC player wanting to piss of sec IC. I've seen people lynch security for daring to shoot a dangerous murderer actively resisting arrest with a lethal weapon. And Ana has seen it all too. From the Exodus to the Aurora - she didn't start out the way she was today. She was a timid, naive catlady who couldn't aim a gun at another living person under normal circumstances. And you know what changed that? It wasn't antag rounds, or changelings, or traitors, or anything like that. It was you. It was the crew. The constant abuse she suffered ICly at the hands of the same, edgy, sec-hating characters that exist everywhere. So you want to know why security has a low tolerance for your bullshit? Because you made them that way. We can't do anything about the balds. We can't do anything about the random one off security players who don't know what a period is. They're there. We hate them as much as you. But you take your experiences with Borderline Griefer McGee the officer and apply it to the rest of the officers and you embitter their characters and make them hate you. You create the bitter, no-nonsense officers that offend your gentle sensibilities. The irony tho.

Sorry for the delay; consider this app approved.

They're all animated, but I can't really show that in one big file. Also, the perspective on computers is kinda off. Compare them to tables or chairs, which all face the character.
-
Because they're like fat bird houses on stilts. From /tg/.
-
Proof of concept. Thinking maybe blue with red accents, or blue and gold. Blue and checkered? Ideas? The accents on the doors and lockers.

No one seems to realize the problem with giving antags gloves, or anyone for that matter, that insta aggressive grab, because you can just chain table stunlock people.

There is a sprite in the code used by an item called the 'changestone' which changes people's genders. It basically never spawns. Piece of red gem. The game calls it a ruby.
