Bruh. I'm hoping this is just a meme. The stunbaton has already been nerfed greatly and takes twice as many hits to bring anyone down, it's supposed to be a non lethal alternative. Harmbatoning is not a real issue and if becomes common practice it'll be sorted by mods like ourselves : p The only thing replacing it with telebatons does is give sec less chances to do anything but engage in brute combat as apposed to just stunning. It will not change how people react to being hit other than likely making them become even more aggressive as you're physically damaging them, not just stunning them.

Oh, I was looking at the pic wezzy posted. - ohhhh whoopsies.

Gonna have to say I really dislike having the dots on every wall, that part is very ugly in my own opinion. But I like the floor sprites still.

[Accepted] Hepatica's IPC whitelist app

+1 Hepatica is super modest about their roleplaying abilities, I've seen them massively change between personalities for different characters and they're totally capable of maintaining a believable and interesting IPC character. -

Make him not so stinky. -
ooooh how did i not see these before? As a filthy med main i like the life added from Brain man's sprites.

The first thing i ever noticed when joining the server was how Windows XP all the textures looked. Feel like this would help clear that up pretty well.

Shiny, look good. Extra variation is nice too.

Please God yes, oh God please remove wiz from secret. There's much less to gain from wizard being secret in comparison to something like malf ai as that's supposed to be built as a secret. For me at least wizard is quite dispised and it's the only type of round I've been willing to cryo in just from being fed up of dealing with the same damned gimmicks over and over and over again. I dislike constantly having to RP that i've never seen someone teleport before when really it's reaching the 50th time until they inevitably either fireball me to death, turn me into a statue or turn someone into a farwa. Same tricks, different pony. I generally feel the mode would fair much better if it was always voted on as that might entail someone actually having a worthwhile gimmick.

Both the player and incidents mentioned have been handled as well as other related incidents since.

Never. ? Crayon beats paper. If you couldn't tell which characters I was then I did good : p I'm fine with the idea of any grievance I may gain in being a mod, I know that if it gets overwhelming I can just step away or ask another staff member to assist/take over for certain issues I feel are too much to stay involved with or just contact them for support in general as they'd obviously have more experience in dealing with such things. In general I don't feel as though it'll end up being too great an issue. -
Basic Information Byond Account: BearSchwanz Character Name(s): Klaus Kitzler Cerise Contritum Keith Peaslee Guillaume Mol Peter Neumann AI Name(s): N/A Discord username + tag: Bear#4850 Age: 18 Timezone: Australian Eastern Standard Time When are you on Aurora?: Throughout 12AM GMT to 3PM GMT most active between 4AM GMT to 3PM GMT Experience How long have you played SS13?: Since August 2019 How long have you played on Aurora: Since September 2019 How much do you know about SS13 (Baystation build) game mechanics?: A decent chunk. The only in game field I haven't played around with much is engineering, as for security, medical, cargo, service, science, response etc. I've a range from a complete understanding to enough to know the required mechanics. Do you have any experience moderating for an SS13 server?: No. Have you read through the criteria thread; https://forums.aurorastation.org/viewtopic.php?f=27&t=4198 - and believe that you mark off all the criteria?: Yes and I do. Have you ever been banned, and if so, how long and why?: No. Asides from being kicked by Goret for calling him a cheese eating surrender monkey in French. Personality Why do you play SS13?: For the fact that SS13 is essentially, in my opinion, the greatest definition of a sandbox game that there is. There's practically endless possibilities in terms of game mechanics and new content as well as the factor of a thriving and interactive community which is always taking a new shape to produce more intuitive and fresh things both in lore and game features plus forever developing characters to interact with. Why do you play on Aurora?: Aurora fits my criteria in serving me what I find quality in SS13 and my opinion on why I play ss13 just wouldn't be the same on any other server. What do moderators do?: slave Maintain mentioned thriving community which inevitably has its fair share of 'bad eggs' who need to be moderated. What does it mean to be a moderator for our server?: To be able to discern what is acceptable behaviour that's likely to keep people oocly content with player's ooc actions and decisions and to then act upon what is unacceptable to try and resolve any issues such things create. Why do you want to be a moderator?: There's apparently a demand for AEST/Oceanic timezone moderators and somebody needs to keep skull happy. Asides from that biased motivation, I don't doubt I'd fulfil the role quite well seeing as I've not gotten into much trouble and tend to get along with staff well in terms of a common opinion on different issues when it involves me. I also see the obvious benefit myself in having one or a few Oceanic timezone staff members as I'm commonly on at times where there's either no staff or just the one sleep deprived headmin hanging on. I enjoy the server and I'm willing to participate in maintaining its good nature. What qualities do you possess that would make you a good moderator?: I've a good ability to discern between the in character and out of character issues as well as the vital understanding of the rules and standards. Again, the times in which I'm active does offer more staff-server-coverage, I stay quite collected in controversial dealings and I'm not arrogant enough to refuse other peoples opinions and stories whether they be kind or hateful. From my perspective I interact with the community quite well and get along with the vast majority of people I've spoken with whether I be shitposting or not but what else can you expect from an Australian. How well do you handle stress, anger, or insults?: Very well. I don't feel like such a thing could cause too great a distress in general. Insults are typically water off a duck's back. If someone is angry at me for something then it's time to try and sort it out together. Anything Else You Want to Add: Although I haven't had any moderating experience with SS13 or Byond in general, I've had quite a bit of experience moderating on other platforms enjoying good success. Namely just random things like the SootHouse discord for a year which had well over 200,000 members which admittedly was mostly just banning people for posting immoral material.

Relatively unrelated but biology wise humans do run faster without shoes on. Given that they're comfortable with the surface. (IRL that is)

I really really really don't support the idea of removing cadets. Yes most officers lately have basically been like cadets but that's because they never started as the role. Officers who do not start off as cadets are way, way less competent and it shows. It's much more beneficial to see who knows basic things like processing and even just the station layout and who doesn't. Plus there have been many many cadets you wouldn't even want to trust with a taser or rubber .45's. The cadet role allows for at least some distinction between who knows what they're doing (supposed to at least) and who does not. Removing the cadet role would result in many officers going around not knowing anything about the game, not knowing how to change a mag, or disable the safety on their pepperspray, many times cadets don't even know how to speak.
-
So what happens with cadets? Where do they get assigned with this implemented. Do you have departmental cadets or do they just follow with a general officer? (also not a question really but inb4 you get a medical assigned officer who believes theyre a combat medic and routinely requests bicaridine, keloderm etc.)

People already treat revolution as traitor with extra steps, not sure how this will do anything but escalate it. I love the idea in the sense of having proper RP, escalation and gimmicks but otherwise if we're still expecting the common "join my company" head rev and the lone head loyalist cadet I'm not sure what this would cause rev rounds to devolve into but team death matches.

[Accepted] Peppermint - Command App #2
BearSchwanz replied to Peppermint's topic in Whitelist Applications Archives
+1 Peppermints all for good RP and competence. Definitely better in a command role than some that've gotten through recently and she'll prolly weed those ones out anyway. Good luck. -
Having played medical a lot during brainmed I really don't think it's harder to die with brainmed. From instant injuries, sure. But in medical care you chances of death are a lot higher than old/current med.

I feel the main thing this will cause is a lot of broken maint doors.

[Withdrawn] Peppermint96 - Command Application
BearSchwanz replied to Peppermint's topic in Whitelist Applications Archives
Every character of peppermint's I've seen so far has been really chill, calm, collected and headstrong, the sort of stuff that makes a great command player and seeing them play as CMO has definitely shown how well it works. RP wise I've seen them try to interact with people of all departments with effort as apposed to just telling everyone to "GeET OUt Of mY mEdBAy!!" when it's valued for the RP for certain people to be there yet still doesn't let it effect their efficiency in the role dramatically. There seems to have been a big whitetide of new medical players recently as well and it's respectable Peppermint doesn't just take the route some CMO's do by just shouting at them or arguing but instead telling them what they can and can't do then making sure they're not in the way. As other characters such as Genevieve I've seen a definite effort to train and teach new players as cadets which the majority of people as officers can't be bothered to do leaving it for up to six days before someone like her steps in. OOC wise too I've not seen peppermint ever start spouting salt or arguing over a round to an unnecessary degree which is a Godsend at this point. +1
