  1. Gifts have been accepted in the past although it's not always a very interesting reason and in this case I think your item could go further if you had more a story to it than just, your character gave someone something and they paid it back in an excessive manner. Other than that, I'm a bit a leery of letting the Elrya holoclothing mechanics and aesthetic go to other factions. I'd ask if there's any other methods you can think of here. We've had in the past, things such as a doublesided cloak to still give it multiple icon states.
  2. The item is accepted.
  3. I did tell you the reason, but as a refresher, I job banned you with the AI team's blessing because after that round, we did not want to have you active as an AI on any other rounds while you argued your case to the AI whitelist team. They ended up telling you what I did, that your actions were not justified. Afterward, your whitelist was stripped and they asked another admin to lift the ban itself. It seems that did not happen, so I'll correct it. At least in the moment, you need to be willing to listen to us when we tell you "No, do not do this." You escalated your own actions and remained argumentative until there was no higher team to appeal to. I'll trust things will be different now.
  4. It's hard to believe that the SCC, already having a rocky relationship with the Sol alliance, is going to allow a looted flag branded with Szlazi's fleet. The Southern Military District was actively hostile to Biesel and engaged their ships and raided their territory for most of its existence. Near the end they did have a ceasefire, though that doesn't quite make up for it. That makes it harder to justify versus one of the wildland states that wasn't so belligerent. Still discussing it for now, but that's my take at the moment.
  5. This is archived as it hasn't had any responses in nearly a year. You can message the custom item team if you're interested in revisiting it.
  6. I like the item. I think we just need to wait to see what happens with the lore application if that will end up affecting aspects of it.
  7. The application can't go forward due to the player being banned at the moment, so it is being denied.
  8. The ban should be lifted, courtesy of sadkermit. Would have been done sooner, but I've been suffering internet issues and wasn't able to actually join the server to do it myself. I'll leave the unban request up for now so you have time to let me know if it's not working.
  9. Do you use a VPN?
  10. The mass deaths weren't really a problem back when simple mobs were a bit more simple and didn't rapidly dodge around. I think changing it back to how it used to be (at least for some mobs) could have some potential before seeing if mining really needs to gun up.
  11. I would have probably opposed a removal on the station map due to the sheer scale at play there, but the Horizon is so tiny I think we could get away with testing what it might be like to not have them available. Far more effective to me at least has always been getting some FR's following sec during a hectic situation, wellness checks, actively calling out locations over the radio. I think it's worth a try to see what happens. Like the idea of tying it to alert more though.
  12. I could see PMCG Tajara liaisons due to the KOG. Tajara are far more subordinate to Idris to the point I don't think having Tajara in leadership positions seems right. I could only really see it with the Crevans potentially, who have far more ties to Idris than the NKA does.
  13. Considering we have two entire holodecks and that it would remain that way, I don't think this is a valid fear. I don't think it's so surprising that some people enjoy more opportunities to talk and roleplay with others, especially if something is going on. I quite enjoy it, and I've always enjoyed strolling by and assisting security when they're training the newest cadet or medical holding a demonstration and so on. While this can still be done, it's far easier to get engagement when the space is more inclusive.
  14. I don't think simply occupying the same z-level can be said to be a factor in main-floor-itis. If it is, this is something that is even worse on the Horizon to me because at the very least on the station map, there were still some very good reasons to move between the surface and main (not often the sublevels though) with enough variety that it wouldn't be as predictable as it was now. Just being the most central part of the map shouldn't consign an area to have nothing in it either. On the deck you mentioned (3), the only places anyone ever visits are the bridge, the cafe and sometimes one of the holodecks. Every other aspect of of the third deck is gone with little reason to venture around it. These are the only options used. We've lost a lot up here, including what this thread was about. A holodeck people could naturally spectate from and see what's going on in rather than the more enclosed versions we have now. All in all, I don't really see this as successful. I see it as the only real option if I really want to get away from deck two at the moment and so far at least, I've been personally disappointed that the current holodecks never quite get the turnout for events that they used to, which makes the increased size a little too big. Deck two is the central ring, the hallway in front of medical and service where the vast majority of traffic goes. Here people will still sometimes go off the beaten path to Operations and the like, but not often. We're past the heyday of frequent gatherings in the ops lobby by more than just cargo/operations personnel. The library became less of a roleplay space than the paths outside. Things are centralized and so close to each other. Deck one is almost completely unused for roleplay outside of what a job entails. It's very enclosed and the divided hangars makes navigation more time consuming. For the station map in particular, the holodeck still was never such a central gathering point that it centralized the entire station to it. Service was still the most popular place to be. The location of the holodeck had one important thing going for it though, which was that while travelling anywhere else people could see what was going on in it because it was in the middle of major hallways. It was a good meeting point used by the crew or by antags. A good place for gimmicks. Sized to the point that you could see what was going on from most angles. I don't think we have that at all at the moment and gathering everyone or even just a lot of people has never really hit the same anymore outside of lowpop for me. The verticality is the one loss I could sympathize with here, although even that is losing its luster to me. Vents and gas leaks are absolutely devastating due to it affecting three different decks and multiple areas.
  15. On the stationmap (The Aurora) we had a holodeck in the center of the station. This made it see widespread use and had it be an excellent place to coordinate crew events, antag gimmicks and so on. It also made it easy to look inside the holodeck and see what's up. Currently. we've lost the spectator angle the holodeck used to have since the removal of the pool and exercise area. I thought it might be worthwhile to consider how we might be able to put a holodeck in the Horizon's central ring too. Such an implementation would probably mean shuffling around a lot of things and a reduction of the "verticality" of that area.
  16. Added one bullet point regarding the new maps/helpers templates that can be viewed.
  17. This isn't the subfourm for salt in the form of feedback. In fact, if it really gets to that point you're better off not saying anything and coming back when you can make a more measured post. I do want to add that when it comes to mutiny, people have been borged canonically over this during events. It's quite the severe offense and being an antag is not really relevant to it.
  18. Approved then.
  19. This can be approved on the change of just one detail, this would fit better as a general traverse/lyukal item according to the lore developers, as specific cells are too in flux at the moment.
  20. The minimums should be raised and the sooner the better. The current way it's handled, there can't be much in the way of character continuity and in a server that values continuity it leaves us with only being able to tell people that roll very young interns/apprentices that they can age up the character, drop the character or change roles. Security cadets and first responder interns never really had this problem because they are either the same or closer to the minimum ages for what they're training for.
  21. The appeal is accepted. I'll have someone lift the ban very soon as I'm not at my personal computer for a while. I do want to note we typically have a consistent nightly population and others did join after what happened to roleplay.
  22. Just because people are voting for a round type you aren't interested in doesn't mean it was anything remotely akin to a "troll vote". I checked who voted to make sure it was being seriously played and the amount of players who voted but didn't join the round was a small minority. Let's also factor in for actual "troll votes" they fail to run because there's also a minimum ready requirement as a fallback. With that in mind it's not really in question people wanted to play it. The reasoning in your PR against it isn't really that comprehensive, so I'll need to read something that's more solid than saying it's a meme gamemode voted by trolls. I'll be voting for dismissal for now.
  23. I'm not the one handling this complaint because I was involved as a player and staff member. I've still been asked to provide my point of view though. It's limited. From the staff-side, I took in concerns from the mercenaries that Command may have been getting third-parties involved to try and deconfirm the gimmick. I'm not sure if the Horizon was seeking them out or not, but I let the Ranger know that round they absolutely can't get involved without permission and that they should play along with the gimmick with permission (which they received from the mercs), so they shifted to also believing they were potentially struck by a temporal anomaly. I think nothing came of that unfortunately though. It was a pretty busy round and I was alone at the time, so that's the most significant thing I remember. When things started getting a bit overwhelming at the end, Mel took over for me. From the player-side. I joined in as the RD and after being filled in and reading the announcements on newscaster, informed the rest of Command I'd like to send out the Intrepid to investigate the nearby area to see if we could confirm the situation by doing scans and dating the nearby asteroid as they were ready to go. The Captain gave permission for that given the situation. The Intrepid had to return once soon after that conversation because the consular ended up hiding in it, then it set out a second time a while after but by then the firefight already happened. I had no discussions with the mercs themselves, only the rest of Command and my own department. I can say at least that in terms of how everyone was reacting, it appeared that the Head of Security fully bought into the gimmick and was trying to give them leeway. The XO was open to the possibility the mercenaries were telling the truth. I was not really in a position to speak at length with the Captain so I only really know about the initial approach where the mercenaries were treated as potential hostiles. I cannot comment on the right or wrong for it. At the end I was told that by their account (XO, HoS and some onlookers) that they tried to follow through with the ceasefire, but an Officer kept firing at the mercenaries (potentially because they didn't catch the HoS saying to ceasefire as well) which led to a retaliation. The crew was very split on this as some of them watched it happen.
  24. Don't like the clasps and I usually only use lather satchels because they have one that at least blends in a bit more.
  25. Fundamentally do not agree with this PR on every level and the problems are evident enough that a test merge doesn't seem reasonable as it is now. That said, if it's being test merged regardless then armour needs to be touched, otherwise it's going to be mechanically better to go with nothing in all cases and melee damage should be heavily increased to compensate too, because I don't really think it's going to be fair in the least for this "lethality" increase to only go one way.
