  1. Tying it into the corps is a good idea. You can say you still helped with the design and such with that too. If that's what you would like to do, this should be fine and can be implemented. Only last question of mine is if you intend on wearing your voidsuit at all times or mainly when needed.
  2. This is taking a while to deliberate over because the voidsuit is a bit more questionable for us. Having it be made specifically by your character and out of scavenged parts makes it hard to see why any of the corporations would take the risk of letting you use it even if your character is sure themself it'll work just fine. As far as they're concerned not only is that a massive liability but the current suits are fine and standard-issue for a reason. This is also not similar to something like the himeo voidsuits, as those come from an industrialized planet that essentially does those made to order, and they are still wrapped up heavily in red-tape due to the scrutiny they have to face. The cloak is alright though.
  3. Either pharm or surgeon has to go for med to be made less dysfunctional in what they can do, so overall I think this should be done.
  4. Not a bad idea. Lately I noticed we've also had a few situations where someone has taken so much brute damage it would take more than 5 minutes to heal a good chunk of it while having butal and other chems up.
  5. More realistically, the average would be 25,80 then assuming one engine is being run. A substation set to 90kW is also exceptionably rare to the point that it's not even a factor (and would need to be done manually to the less intensive departments). So people would be looking at 20,60 in most cases then, which is unfortunately still life threatening as to require immediate treatment for both unless you get very lucky rolls. In part because blood loss from those kinds of burns is pretty overtuned. Other than what Boggle said, I don't think such things can really be compared. The vending machines are an actively ICly annoying event to those in the vicinity and the fungi could cause a breach. Thrusters are almost comparable there, but all the shuttles on the Horizon are easily fueled and can (and should) leave without waiting for maneuvers. There's also "maunevering thrusters" now that only require power if the Horizon must absolutely move a bit, but the thrusters aren't on. Compared to those, RCON is still something that's effectively only noticed once the breaker switch is toggled and the crew complains about APCs going red for a moment. In most cases it affects nobody. To say it's an obligation is on the same level to me as saying engineers should know every aspect of their job up to telecomms and be able to do it competently, but we don't even expect Chief Engineers to be able to fix a bombed out tcomms if they don't know how or to even have much knowledge of something like the tesla. It's a choice in the end to go beyond what's expected of a station engineer (keep the lights on, conduct repairs) and that's why it's always going to be considered optional but nice to have if engineering wants to engage with the mechanics of their department.
  6. None of that is a problem and it sounds in line with what I said, because the utility is optional. Some people are still into that nonetheless. I don't see the suggestion as worthwhile since the better solution to me was mentioned in a prior post of mine. if I think the presets are a waste of time and that it isn't going to solve the stated problem, why support it? There's no reason to do so, for me. Code-wise this would be a pretty easy PR and you're still welcome to do it, but it's on you or others to do so then. All that needs to be done is making SMES subtypes and adjusting the inputs and outputs assuming we kept it simple and player-friendly. The in such a PR should be pretty generous due to all the kinds of rounds it might face, so any debate on how it might look like should keep that in mind.
  7. I'm handling this with @Owen. It shouldn't be too long before our next response.
  8. It doesn't need to be setup though and it doesn't cause any issues not to do it during peak operations since it's optional. That's why I don't really see the point in a preset when it could just be made easier to input some numbers in less time. The other thing is the usual times people do complain about RCON not being set typically comes from a misunderstanding of how it even works. Engineers might swear by it for safety, but there's a cap on shock damage (or so it's said) so you don't get straight up ashed and any "peak" settings are going to be balanced to the point it would kill players properly set RCON or not. Other than treating it as a fun sort of mini game the main benefit would be having a second set of power sources if the engines fail. RCON is so reflective of who sets it up to the point you have people dedicated to balancing it down to the watts, not doing it, doing it to the "usual" or clicking the max out button for everything and calling it a day.
  9. RCON isn't required so I don't really see the point to preset values. One person's "optimal" is also another's "unoptimal" as well What I propose instead is for RCON to go by kilowatts rather than watts. It would cut the amount of key presses massively considering a standard say "1500000" watt input would just need you to enter "1500" instead, as an example.
  10. I liked the original design that had the tree where the dance floor was atm.
  11. Contributions aside, they did a cool thing that basically allowed flipping a map upside down rather than having to re-create it for me. I didn't end up completing the thing that involved it (yet) because I had some events to focus on and we were moving to Adhomai, but generally Dream has been pretty helpful and adds some very useful stuff.
  12. A wiki page is not going to convey quick and easy information needed to fit into a role, it's a longer timesink and one that's better done before joining due to that. The more workable solution one that's being enforced on any new ghost roles where it will be important is adding a welcome message sent to the chatlog which should have just enough information that's needed. Should be easy, thankfully.
  13. Expanded more on the airlock part of away ships due to Camo's update on them and added another guideline to the ghost roles about the use of another tool to give players information.
  14. You don't seem to be able to work with others well, take feedback well and you don't handle disagreements/hard NO's gracefully. It's been especially apparent when you're talking to other people currently on the development team (those you will be working with more) or administration. I would not want you on the team for those reasons.
  15. I quoted me doing this and you didn't, you continued to fight about it and it is now continuing here. The attempt at pedantry doesn't really work when I know for a fact you're aware of the policy on references given you have a history of making them on the server and being talked to regarding it. I can look at a discord channel like the code dungeon and see your only real response to another developer like Wildkins telling you old ancient references in the code aren't a reason to add more was "Anything is a reference if you look hard enough". So, I don't think I'm wrong and I do think you made it so there was no other way to get you to stop talking about it.
  16. There's no real way to be any more clear than me saying this on that thread. This was also one of multiple times I stated it, being sure to let you know that the only thing not up for debate was your use of real world terms. I would have thought this last response was understood finally, given you did not reply. However, you continued on trying to justify it to other people such as Schwan. So if you don't really feel like listening, then there is not much else for me to do.
  17. I'll be reviewing this with @ReadThisNamePlz. @Garnascus will be overseeing it as Matt is a Primary.
  18. To make it more clear, I'm saying the references are not acceptable and will put a hold on your PR until they're removed, even if the rest of the content is fine. If you believe our rulings on references aren't acceptable, you should make a policy suggestion instead of arguing and rules lawyering it here then.
  19. It's both. It seems that it's more your personal preference that outright references aren't a big deal. They are and you should know this by now beyond the fact that is already present that we care about our atmosphere. Whatever is thought about the PR, the references aren't staying and it's not an option to keep them. I think we can both see the difference between referencing the history of Earth and referencing Battlestar Galactica or some other entertainment property that is hundreds of years old at the point of the lore. The rules on the server outright say I don't really see why you even want to be pedantic about this.
  20. This does a pretty good job at showing how few there are compared to your list. They're also relatively simple prompts. It's not and neither are the memes and other references you've put in. Those would also need to be removed (like Cylons, Bill from Accounting). Cool, that can be removed. Like you've been told before, old existing memes and issues aren't an excuse to add more I'm not really thinking about antags. I don't really see how that could be said given the language I've already pointed out.
  21. Some of these are fine but I think you went too far in including the clear outage baiting/factional laws. While the current set of ion laws are clearly supposed to be issues as well to an extent it doesn't go as far to maintain a hyperfocus on different species or individuals. In the set you propose we're looking at things like... Which is telling the AI to refer to Tajara with the name of a medical company and a drug. Then it's thrown in that a consular be prioritized rather than actually leaving it to random chance if present. While this will have to be removed due to how you referenced real world stuff anyway, Another one that's questionable is... This just directly impedes people playing service and roleplaying and is worded in a way that an AI could easily take it as an opportunity to actually bolt the area down if people ignore it as we can with ion laws at the moment. A similar law such as this is the one where the AI is required to leak whatever Command is saying. So to me, while this might be funny at first thought, in practice I don't see how a lot of it is appropriate for an event that has a decent chance to roll. The list would have to be cut down to be more appropriate for a minor/moderate event roll that shouldn't dominate the round.
  22. I'm echoing the above. Things are so bright now it feels like I went back to SS13 in 2014 and not in a good way. The darker decals and tiles were a lot easier on the eyes and looked aesthetically better to me. Operations is decent, though.
  23. This is approved.
  24. Being able to see the progress bar of other people doing something that takes time has some cool utility I think. Memories are just internal notes you can view. You've probably already used that on aurora when trying to see how much money you have in a round or something.
  25. I will handle this. The problem here is that this is coming after you were saying it was a shitty decision (those are the exact words) on the appeal and that you don't even remember what happened, just that it was probably not justified. Denying your appeal over that is just fine, as that is not even an appeal. If you had an issue with the ban, you should have also made a complaint on it way before you forgot all the details because there is just nothing to work with here other than your conduct, which wasn't great there. You will just have to appeal again sometime and do it right. That should be all here unless there's any questions.
