Staff Complaint - WickedCybs
WickedCybs replied to Filthyfrankster's topic in Staff Complaints Archive
You were so deep in the hole that you wanted to hurt someone who continually asked to have nothing to do with you again. That's the difference between you and a lot of other people who make staff complaints to contest a decision they feel was wrong. I think you know yourself that you're being dishonest here. All that aside, the reality is that you're going to have to talk with us even if you get unbanned and that we're going to expect changes. If you can't let go of your baggage or at least push it aside, I don't think you really belong here anymore. You should play on a different server with a different staff team if that doesn't sound acceptable. -

Move cargo orders from the database to the codebase

Would be nice and would probably cut down on the "please spawn X item" ticket requests. -
Staff Complaint - WickedCybs
WickedCybs replied to Filthyfrankster's topic in Staff Complaints Archive
Most if not all this is just rehashing the complaint on Mel, which you posted after I perma'd you. I'll link it here. My response there still applies, as does your behavior which appears to remain unchanged. Now, part of your post here. I tell you, you've been banned for your character's extremely LRP behavior during that plane crash round, something that's been a recurring theme for them on other rounds. Afterward, you begin spreading a conspiracy that Mel had a hand in it and was out to get you banned, which completely blindsided me, she wasn't even involved. I investigate and learn you've essentially been harassing her while I was on break. I perma you due to this. You then make a staff complaint on Mel and not me regarding the ban and when Alb points this out among other things you ask to close the complaint. Your behavior there is absolutely relevant to my considerations, more so than the warning by Matt you post on every thread regarding staff, which I handled three years ago and disciplined Matt over. Now you post this complaint after your appeal, in which you say you understand you were the issue. I think you were either lying to me due to this or the denial unfortunately had you repeat your problems. Regardless of whether you were sincere or not, you were never getting unbanned just a few months after what you did and continued to do afterward. That's called consequences and you have an issue accepting them. And here's the thing about your behaviour, mate. I've seen what you said over discord DMs and elsewhere. We've both talked about things you've said in-game before, you've demonstrated it on this thread, on Mel's thread, on other threads on the fourm. There's little if any positive comments regarding your conduct when I've asked others about it. If you're really going to make an appeal and say you understand you were at fault, this isn't a question you'd need to ask on this complaint. After all, you've said this on Mel's complaint. And the reason is pretty clear. So, Instead of putting on a "tedious loving smile" and forgiving us just this once, be a more civil person instead and show a baseline level of respect to other people. Not just staff. Not everyone is going to get along, but even a turtle isn't going to do what you do and randomly slander others off the cuff on OOC channels ingame. If you do that, there's no way you won't be unbanned even after yet another thread like this. Although I'd hope this is the last instance of you not accepting a judgement. It will take time and I'm not going to tell you this thread isn't also now another thing to note about your reactions. It is. But, yeah. Current thought is you are staying banned until close to the end of the year. If there are more problems before then, that might need to be reconsidered. Up to garn if he thinks that's reasonable though. And a note for Garn, we do have a lot of the Discord messages collated on the staffcord. Can link that later. -
I'm on a roll. Essentially, just the title. Give paintguns an additional option that allows them to select colour presets. That way rather than using a colour picker or eyeballing decals on the floor, you can just directly select something like medical decals if you have to repaint medical's flooring a bomb explodes or whatever. Also it'd be nice to be able to repaint walls now that those are designed to have different colorings now.

So, I've always kind of had gripes with the smart AI system and commented as much over the years. The constant dodging wasn't really appealing to me, but I understand a good chunk of people do like how this works. Apparently, geeves had a var put in which is on by default which can be disabled if desired (I'm not a code diving nerd tho so I never checked myself). Anyway, after a conversation about it with some others I figured we ought to figure out what mobs would make sense to not dodge around. Easy one was greimorian warriors. It'd make sense if they just charged, right? So I'll probably have something up for them soon. I could also see a case for disabling it on maint drones, maybe. But yeah, if there's any mobs you've seen that you think ought to be stupider, worth mentioning it since we have a lot that could be adjusted.

As titled. I think body cameras for security could be interesting and gives wardens + less hands-on HoS's something to watch. Imagine actually having a mission control who can talk to officers and guide them around without just having to lean on hearsay. This would be quite oppressive to antags if implemented straight up, so I think it could be balanced by having the camera cut its feed if the officer goes horizontal, gets crit and so on. Mainly thought of sec for this but something like expedition cameras on research voidsuits might be interesting too.

It really shone a light on how unfriendly the ship seems to be for anyone who needs a mobility aid to move around, like a wheelchair. The bar is basically inaccessible to them, to name one example. We could remove a lot of the aesthetic stairs and platforms (and probably should either way tbh). That said, things like elevators tend to be pretty far as mentioned earlier and I think the PR has exaggerated things to the point of being unrealistic. Random thought of the day is that this would have gone over better on the station map I think.

Here is the verdict. The permanent ban has been removed. It shouldn't be counted against you. You are role banned from all medical roles. This can be appealed, but only once you have solid amount of time in another role. I do not believe it would be appropriate for you to go back to it given what was found in your complaint by Read and Bear. Message me if you have any questions or concerns or post here. I'll close this soon if not.

It's been taking me a bit to parse the complaint, but I will let you know a few of my current thoughts on it. I do think the behavior you were banned over has little relation to your actions in 2018. It's only relevant insofar that we have the 3 perma policy. Your behavior when it comes to others is very poor but I couldn't really classify this as self-antagging. Just unreasonable belligerence. There's been a failure in recordkeeping when it comes to noting your actions or applying warnings. People sometimes slip through the cracks but after over 70 rounds I would hope the administrative staff had more written on you. The ban is quite an escalation to me as it's citing things that ideally could have been discussed beforehand. So, the perma is definitely excessive to me. What I am working out is what the next step might look like. It's still very bad that things got to the point your presence was driving more than a few people away. I also know for a fact that I've spoken to you about resident being a learner role soon after the round where you took someone's heart out. Also To further clear things up for you, the role is not different. It was clarified. Interns (and thus, residents since they are the same) have always been subordinate to the rest of medical. And regardless, you aren't their peers even as a licensed Doctor. You should have considered them and I think it's a bit strange you acknowledge your actions could have led to problems but placed the blame on others to inform you about it. A member of staff OOCly should have taken you aside yeah, but you can't just do what you did. Anyway, sorry that this has been a lengthy amount of time. I will try to expedite my deliberations and potentially ask you a few questions later if need be.

Unban Request - Filthyfrankster
WickedCybs replied to Filthyfrankster's topic in Unban Requests Archive
The door isn't closed to you like the ban says, but given all that's happened after it was applied I don't think it'd be appropriate to lift it so soon. I'd say to make another appeal again in November/December. So, denied at the moment. -
It's a fine item, although one that's better off being in the loadout yes. Feel free to make a PR including it.

Improve/change/revert the scrubber animation

I kind of thought that was the new scrubber siphon animation when I first saw it. -
This item is accepted.

I like the item and the collaborative aspect you've added to it. We've spoken a lot regarding this item, so the only thing I would like to hear at this point is what those IC contributions entailed, roleplay-wise. Either from you or those who roleplayed with you. That could be as straightforward as "they worked at the design" and still satisfy me mostly but I would like to hear it even still just to get a feel of how you're going to roleplay with this. As a note, stuff like material contributions from the crew might mean I'll ask for you to adjust that element of your story should that have taken place. I'd expect a lot of red tape to get in the way.

Refreshed myself on Dominia lore again. For the item itself, I'm kind of viewing it as a bit of a contrived way to have the book. You've always had them keep it. They happened to be at the battle of San Collete and the book got damaged, but that's not really so significant here? You should think of how their Solarian heritage might factor into this beyond just serving in the marines and burning their prized possession. Is the book even orthodox? Maybe her father had drastically different views and wrote that within, due to their time in Solarian space. Essentially, their background ought to matter more to convince me this wouldn't be a Dominian who is ostensibly Solarian for vague reasons. This is even more important here, because it makes little sense to be a Tribunalist who isn't a Dominian citizen already. At best, you're representing an extremely niche Solarian. Now unfortunately, circumventing the mechanical inability to get the book if you're not Dominian is not in our interest at the moment. My suggestion to you if you're really intent on this as a concept is to ask human lore about it on the lore discord (not the lore master, who is trigonex). My personal suggestion is that you just say the codex is in their dorm if you're really set on this. With that in mind this is denied and that's going to be the case for other items you may try to apply with on this character unless it's not a codex and the reasoning is solid enough. Give that a few weeks to think about, if you want to do that.

Staff Complaint - Melarara
WickedCybs replied to Filthyfrankster's topic in Staff Complaints Archive
You blocked me, and I know this because I did attempt to send you a message first regarding your character. After this it came to my attention you were actively complaining about the matter to other staff members, so it did fall to them to say something in my stead. Complaining about that is hypocritical. I was unblocked shortly after the message was relayed for you to express your discontent, but I don't really care to be blocked/unblocked on a whim as you need me. I also don't care to speak with you anymore in general now. You haven't been a pleasant person and while I can believe that you may mean well to others in general, you have a tendency to blame others for your mistakes or fabricate their guilt where there is none. You may remember when you snapped at me for "making you look at bad" by "spawning in items" for an antag in front of you and then backpedaled and apologized when you realized... traitors have uplinks and the guy used that. The worry about how you're viewed is a common theme here and it's no excuse to treat others badly. The day I banned you over your behavior in the Air Konyang round was also the first day I even learned you had issues with Mel. I was more than a little confused to see you squarely blame it on her as an example of some conspiracy against you when you had your conversation with Lmwevil/Squidqueen. While you're probably still not going to believe it, the idea that I needed to be convinced to delete your character or that anyone else was involved in it is completely wrong. After I banned you initially, I did a more thorough review of your machinist in the past to see if the character itself has been a problem. I haven't really been on the server much since December of last year so I wanted to do my due diligence. Mel's only contribution to that was saying she didn't really want to open a ticket with you during that round. Her silence was contrasted with your firm belief she was behind it all and the need to tell others about it. Your behavior is also why I've removed you from the game. I felt fully justified over it then and even more so now seeing as how you've made a staff complaint on the person who wanted nothing to do with you rather than one who banned you in the first place. I didn't even know you made a complaint on her until after I browsed the forum to see the latest custom item application today. Targeted harassment really disgusts me and I'm not about to let it slide for anyone who does it. The TL:DR is that you, solely, are responsible for this. -
If you'd like an item that represents your characters faith, think of something that wouldn't be common. Something special to them. An item that everyone can reasonably have is better put into the loadout, not given as a custom item. With that in mind, the application is denied.

Kira's 104th Pride Flag (No, not that kind.)
WickedCybs replied to dessysalta's topic in Denied Apps
The application is denied, but I encourage you to still think of ways you might be able to represent your character in a less high profile manner if you like the idea of having an item that tells a story.
