That's the shittiest logic, ever. Racism/shittness/rudeness should be subtle and discrete, not blatantly obvious to the point where you question if CC cares about their employees/units. And don't bring up the DO's, that's not how it should work. The player should have some decency to know who's/what's shitty enough to not be employed/deployed on-station. Also, there has to be a line between what's allowed, and what's not. And would a new/bald guy be allowed to do this? And let me tell you a story. A long time ago, before we moved to baycode, borgs were allowed to know every module. They could switch with the help of robotics. But, modules were extremely specialized. An engineering borg could construct lots of walls, do repair, all the engineering stuff, and not a lot more. Crisis borgs were absolutely the best at keeping the patient alive with inaprov and tricord, while giving them some bandages and shit, and they couldn't do a lot more. And chemistry? Any borg could find a crewmember who would move beakers between machines, while the borg was 'pushing' the buttons. And borg could, because they had the knowledge to do so. Everyone was happy, there was roleplay. But then, Baycode happened. Research borgs, who could essentially use every item in the game they wanted. IMHO, research module shouldn't exist for balance reasons, and because borgs shouldn't really do any creative work, they should be machines designed to follow laws and HELP the crew, not do shit instead of them. Also, whatever fuckhead added a way for janitor borgs to do chemistry (by adding the gripper for every module, I think? I didn't really play borgs since the code change). TL;DR: Don't too shitty. Borgs are more OP than on old-code, Thanks Baycode.

Security, Heads of Staff, and Barricaded Suspects
Dreamix replied to Skull132's topic in Staff Vault
What if I am a robust individual who knows mechanics better than most of the playerbase, and I am 100$ sure I can flash the hostage and throw-baton the hostage-taker without any casualties, and I can actually succeed every time? How does this affect me? Mind you, there is "roleplay", as some people would say: combat-RP is still RP and detainee/ex-hostage RP is also RP. Unless I'm missing something by blindness and/or ignorance, I see it's just theoretical stuff instead of clear "what do/what do not do and eventual punishment". Edit: I'm apparently blind. But a simple TL:DR version would be nice, too. -
Quick, random-name-generators. NO ONE WILL KNOW.

Player Complaint (Kinda) Bedshaped
Dreamix replied to coolbc2000's topic in Complaints Boards Archive
I'm just asking, what is wrong with you, people. I'm not asking you to surrender completely and go AFK for the rest of the round to "let the antag do antaggy things". What the fuck. I'm asking you to give the antag a chance, and don't go full ";HELP JOHN SMITH IS VALID" because "my characturs wouldn't want to die, and don't want no meta plz" (yet, I see people memeing shit IC). You just have to find the equilibrium, the balance between these two, where people oppose the antag, but don't breach walls, disarm-spam and scream into their radios the moment they see a slight sign of antagonistic action. And I'm not even going to start on the "acting in a different manner that your character would do in certain situations". Because to know "what would the character do", you actually need to be that particular character. And most sane characters on-station would probably have mixed feelings of confusion and shock if something out-of-ordinary happened to them, asking first, acting later. Because, you know, malfunctioning AI's, hostage taking, mercenary raids, all of this doesn't happen every shift. -
Visitor is the new assistant. My only (captain) character absolutely loves to spend entire shifts on-station as a visitor. It's not like my character is supposed to work there, or earn money. And I can't play any other character, obviously. That's dumb, and every 'regular joe' who does exactly this should hang himself.

Player Complaint (Kinda) Bedshaped
Dreamix replied to coolbc2000's topic in Complaints Boards Archive
Or, you could like, not try to screw over the antag who is trying to create some rp for people? At least give the antag a chance, instead of just 'deconstructing the wall and flying into space screaming TRAITOR into comms'. I mean, there's the newly added rule "Do not rules-lawyer your laws as an AI (to a dumb degree). It’s a form of validhunting/powergaming." The same should apply to every character. "Don't try to do everything to screw over an antag, escape from him, call security on him, or fuck shit up. The antag just wants to make the round interesting, don't make it the old, boring antag-vs-security game of cat and mouse. It's a form of powergaming." -
You can't just ask medbay players if they want things. It's like asking security regulars if they want more guns in the armoury to validhunt antags. And most of them would say 'yes', because they main security and want to see more antag-vs-security action. You need to think "objectively", with the "game sense" to balance things. But yeah, do whatever.

HELLO, THERE: http://forums.aurorastation.org/viewtopic.php?f=18&t=4577&start=30#p46259 http://forums.aurorastation.org/viewtopic.php?f=18&t=4577&start=30#p46261 I'd rather not copy-paste arguments from this thread. I mean, having one functional surgery theater, and one almost-complete one would be a fair compromise, right? Add ghetto surgery and the fancy genetics-life support table to the mix (assuming it still exists, Skullo) and we're golden.
-
Medbay has two working theaters now, yes. The pictures of the Medbay do not reassemble the reality anymore. It's been re-done completely. Weren't we supposed to have one functional operating theater? And one almost-operating one, with the operating table half-done (Skull's operating table construction mechanics)? I believe, there was a thread about 2 OR's ages before, and the general consensus was exactly this ^^^^. That's lame.

Login > Incompatible Password > ******* Access Level > Random Words Here Net Access > Granted Welcome Hello, friends, I'm Incompatible. Just got my access to the network, no idea why is the stupid machine displaying random words there, in the access level thingy. I usually do legitimate escorts, and less-legitimate ambushes. I'm fine with heists and other serious shit, as well, if you've got something interesting. Anyway, I'm kind-of forced to get some easy money with a few not-so-nice guys. And they specifically want to capture an Interstellar Aid Corps vessel for whatever more-easy-money plans they might have. And that's where I need your help. Anyone got a free Emergency Pod? Any colours, really. Might even be one of the SA Navy, if you find one. Nothing's free, of course. If you also got crew willing to help us for exchange of the shares, hit me up. After re-thinking that, that's so immoral. I just want to get over with it.

THANKS BAYCODE. Well, that's dumb, plz remove. Do whatever you wish to do, then. I'm not the one to approve apps.

Since the whole thing is here. Well, to be honest, I do not like this at all. It's too complicated, and would probably take too long to implement. Ex: what if my character's past isn't on the list? Should I just use the "custom backstory"-thing? Can't everything in there just be "custom", instead of a static drop-down menu? Why is the 'history' part even necessary? You're trying to RimWorld too hard. And the character stats, I do not like this one either. It's hard to read, and complicated. So, my character has 5-points DEX... What does that mean? I can't imagine adding STR and INT mods to everything. HOWEVER, I do like the "Skills" part. It's simple, and probably wouldn't need too much code into it. It could even work like the thing we have/had in our char creation screens, the 'skills' thingy, except this time it would be used. For example, chemistry could have X levels (nicer names would be, well, nice): - Totally does not care - 0 points added to this. This means, that the character is totally inept about this, just doesn't care, and will never even try to learn chemistry. Reagent names on the reagent dispenser machine will be blurred out or replaced with ???'s. That's for the security/engineering brutes, who just don't see chemistry as a needed thing. - Slightly interested - 1? point? This means, that the character has heard about some chemicals and shit, but doesn't know anything about any of this. Reagent names are normal, but the character has a random chance to click a random other button on the dispenser. "Oh, sorry about the explosion, I'm not really into the whole chemistry thing. Was it potassium... And water?" The dispenser will also have a chance to"spill" some small amount of the chemical on the floor, or to add too much to the beaker. That's for nursing interns, I guess. Clumsy and inexperienced. - Learning - 2 points? The character is actively learning, but isn't perfect. The dispenser will have a chance, probably small, to "spill" some small amount of the chemical on the floor, or to add too much to the beaker. That's for the normal doctors, who don't want to be the pros, and want that one precious point to add to robustness. - Professional - 3 points? Every value is 100% normal. There's no randomness, no room for game mechanic-induced errors. No spilling or stuff. It's just the pure player's skill. That's for the legitemate chemists, probably? Comments: Just imagine the chemistry lab. Two chemists out there. One has dirty floor under him, spilled chems on his labcoat, his tricordrazine has a bit too much dylovene in it, and has left-over sugar from when he was making inaprov. He either tries to fix his errors by spending more time on making the actual meds, or he lives with it, since the meds aren't perfect, but also won't really hurt anyone. The professional is all nice and clean, his meds are as perfect as the player behind him. You see the difference between the "learning", and the "professional", as it's clear. The second example, physical combat. Or robustness: - Total pacifist - -1 point, as in, adding one to the pool, instead of removing them. The character will be unable to attack anyone, except when in some kind of crit. That's it, that's for the pacifist characters, or IPC's programmed to be nice, or something. I dunno. - Disgusted by blood - -2 points, as in, adding two to the pool, instead of removing them. The character will be unable to attack anyone, and will get a slowdown-debuff when there's blood in their sight, and will also get ocassional red-font message that they're feeling uncomfortable. Your normal, non-badass - Normal - 0 points. Just a normal humanoid being, slightly lowered attack values and hitpoints. Just slightly. - Fit - 1 point. Just a normal guy who's sometimes doing push-ups, maybe. Hitpoint and attack values normal. - Martial arts practicioner - 2 points. Is training karate or was taught judo by the character's grand-grandfather. Or just a cargonian thug, I guess. More offense power. More stuns, when administering metal bats to shitcurity's head. - Brute - 2 points. Better hitpoint value. The brute, the tank, the juggernaut. Can withstand more hits, and shit. Less stuns, and more taser shots needed to down this beast. Comments: Security will have a harder time taking the brutes down, but a smart normie will still have a chance to take down the karate guy. These two were just examples of what the system may be. There may be enough points to max out 2-4 skills, of course. So there WILL be less-binary, multi-talented characters. I may create an entirely new thread, if needed. THOUGHTS?

So, you're telling me that this NanoTrasen employee is building Hephaestus-designed exosuits on this NanoTrasen owned space station, using these standard NanoTrasen owned exosuit fabricators that can probably only be used to fabricate exosuits of NanoTrasen's blueprints. The incident reports will be funny. "This pink robot is making Hephaestus mechs! How? Our fabricators were supposed to make NT-stuff only!", "This pink robutt brought its own blueprints to work! And these blueprints are/were owned by this rival company of NT!" or "A saboteur! A traitor!". Nice snowflake, mister A.
-
Well, everything's fine and dandy... ...But what events? Will Miranda Trasen visit the station everyday? Will everyone turn into hardassed space war veterans, because of the weekly canon heists? Maybe it's just that my creativity has stopped existing.

And this, kids, is why cats and lizards should be removed. If the only way you can make your 'xenos' more 'alien' is giving them the ability to bite ones hand off, you're doing a really bad job with your 'alien' races. So, how about no.
-
Why not also add other memes, my friend? I mean, we have wizards and other non-realistic/non-logical shit, why even bother trying to make our game more immersive/realistic. Well, after re-thinking it, I still think that a bottle of expensive and old alcohol stuffed somewhere in the captain's office would be nice. As I earlier wrote: "A cheap gimmick for the captain to pull off, when a few nice crewmembers did something that's just worthy enough to drink some expensive alcohol with their boss, but shitty enough to not warrant a medal." However, a 2016's wine may not be exactly a great way to achieve this. Also. I'm sure no one sees the old wine alone as an useless addition (fucking fun-haters, I tell ya). The 2016's part is what people disagree with.
-
I'd imagine that xenos employed by NT are civilized and have their claws and teeth curbed so they can't do ridiculous shit, and they aren't some wild beasts with feral instincts and shit. But that's just me. So, everyone or none.

Where are the borgs, where's the destruction.

That's comedy gold right here, my boy. I could take all your posts and make a new lorem ipsum out of it. And that, not even including the shitposts. Actually, you're a meme. But this is apparently the biggest waste of time. Isn't everything? Complaints that are becoming archived due to inactivity? Countless suggestions that are buried in their forum? All of the forum-roleplay sub-forum? Maybe dead incident reports or NT personnel database? Oh, wellIs that called hypocrisy, or whatever? I'm slowly drifting towards the shitposting life.

I love this. A great way to stop the powergamers, and to give people general idea how things work. Mechanically and forcefully, of course, ex.: because what's the better way to teach non-chemists that chemistry isn't just simply pushing few buttons? Maybe this way we could restrict people from using wizard staffs, as well. Also, liwefebz much. B-but doggie-guy, what if my snowflake space lesbian nurse needs to go full assistant because there aren't any SSL-job slots available and I only have this one character and absolutely cannot play any other? Of course, if such system ever gets coded in, people will be able to add a skill-point to whatever skill they need to have, that's outside of their target job. Judo-knowing engineers who also know a little meds are fine, but 18-year old scientists who know chemistry, xenobiology, gun-handling, EVA, surgery, -random other skill that takes years to learn here-, and are also buffed like a bear would not be possible. Through, good luck convincing everyone to accept this, you fucking hitler :^)
-
Maybe I do, I don't really know. But a (small) change is always nice, ya? Yeah. I'm a hitler now. You're also a hitler. Everyone's a hitler for having different expectations of what the server should be. NOT BAIT.

Don't let your dreams be memes dreams. But I am just a meme dream.
