Let's not, please. It's not like I (or we) am asking for the medbay to be remodeled after some real life hospital, with months of waiting between visits, and appointments taking 30 minutes with long queues. I just want the good players that know things to be, well, good and praised for being good. You can tell someone's injured just by examining them, then, it's a matter of asking what happened and what's wrong, and then just applying some bandages, or whatever. You get the point, Medical shouldn't be just health analyzer and cryo for everything. Anyone can do this. And by "good players that know things", I don't mean that I want every medical player to have IRL medical degrees, finish schools, and stuff. I just want the players to know that "swollen chest, suffocation damage, and coughing blood" probably means that the patient has a ruptured lung. It's not rocket science, it's just the equivalent of corporate regulations book, or the usual science powergame everyone is doing in 10 minutes. So, remove the handheld health analyzers, don't touch medhuds or the scanners. Apparently, it's too much. I guess, the players just want to keep rekting antags. I also would like cloning to be removed, but let's not make the game too hardcore. Not yet, at least.

This is a great suggestion. I love it. It just hurts me internally when I see the doctors (not the bald ones, normal characters with flavor text and records) just scanning everyone who's inside the medbay's lobby, no matter if they're hurt or not. I want to see more RP! Actually examining bodies and talking to patients, instead of just wordlessly scanning them. Prescribing medicines (or natural ones like tea for toxins) to the injured ones, instead of just pumping them with sleepers' shit. More surgery and chemistry, instead of the fucking cryotubes. Actual skill of knowing the proper things, instead of just cryo and sleepers that fix almost everything. Through, if we were to remove the handheld health analyzers, I believe that body scanners (there's just 1 anyway, but it could use some delay-thing) and medHUD's should stay. Can't suddenly make the easy hugbox of medbay a hardcore shit.

No. Never. Absolutely. This is a HRP server. What would this achieve? Just some security powergamers who exclude other departments from antag-crew roleplay even more than they do now? Search warrants are fine (It's not like anyone is using them, anyway), asking the crew to let them in through the main door is fine, too. This thing would just encourage security to wander off into departments wordlessly ("it's a security business, don't even ask). Asking HoP's for access is okay, too. More people should interact with each other, with only the most respected officers getting basic access everywhere. This thing would mostly shorten the rounds, with security discovering, finding or fighting cults, heisters and nukeops even earlier. Do you want this? Blue only? No. Heads would just go for code changes, instead of premature shuttles. And don't even start with this "b-but it's for people's safety, dying is unfun". This is a game. Dying and antagonists are okay, these are a part of the game. WHAT ABOUT we change the bar into cafeteria, with nice tables, food and stuff. BUT, the bar kind-of-stays where it is right now. It would be mainly an psychological/official change. Right now, you go to the bar to drink booze. And, that's it. With the cafeteria, I imagine people will still come to hang out at the tables AND occasionally drink nice things. Imagine the possibilities, "it's prohibited to serve alcohol in our cafeteria now" as a new no-fun-allowed reason to riot, and a valid captain's order.

Sorry I'm a little daft but are you on my side about separating virologists into its own job and removing virology access from doctors? Or keeping doctors with virology access and just making the crates have virology access. It's okay, I'm not the greatest egnrish-person either. The first one, ya.

Well, both chemistry and virology (and also surgery) aren't easy stuff. Just because it's really simplified in-game to the point of few clicks, it doesn't mean it's easy-peasy job for every twenty-year old doctor to do. I'm for virologists (+CMO) having access to virology and sample crates. I wish people would start playing specialized characters, with surgeons, virologists, chemists, and just general practitioners each having their own places, cooperating like a department they should be. Instead of the randomness I'm usually seeing in the medbay, with people doing whatever they lay their hands on, without communication and stuff.
