Reporting Personnel: Abdul Ibn Turkiel Job Title of Reporting Personnel: Bridge Crewman Game ID: ckX-aAVr Personnel Involved: - S'Tani Istan - Offender - Leo Barnes - Offender - Clark Coldsmith - Witness - Le Tedrow - Witness - The Watchmen who Never Rests - Witness Secondary Personnel: - Ensign Khadisha Al-Tayyeb - Elyran Military Taskforce Commander - Rifleman Nawra Faizan - Elyran Military Taskforce Soldier - Rifleman Al-Jaziri - Elyran Military Taskforce Soldier - Rifleman Darya Golzar - Elyran Military Taskforce Soldier - Lillian Nystrom - Witness Time of Incident: Around 0400, 2464-11-18 Real Time: 00:30 11/18/2022 Location of Incident: Derelict vessel in Valley Hale Nature of Incident: [X] - Workplace Hazard [ ] - Accident/Injury [ ] - Destruction of Property [ ] - Neglect of Duty [ ] - Harassment [X] - Assault [X] - Misconduct [X] - Other: Causing a diplomatic incident Overview of the Incident: I was first made aware of this issue by security, who informed me they wished to corroborate the story that the two shaft miners (Leo Barnes and S'Tani Istan) gave them regarding an incident aboard a derelict vessel. At the time, engineering was requesting we test engines, so we had moved away from the Elyran vessel. Upon hearing this request, I made steps to turn back towards the Elyran vessel to discuss this. I contacted the vessel via hologram, and we were greeted by Ensign Khadisha Al-Tayyeb of the Elyran Military. The Warden at this time asked them questions about the incident (logs attached from recorder). During this time, I discovered the miners were being accused of venting a derelict ship, injuring several of the Elyran taskforce members. After this questioning was done, the Warden attempted to end the conversation, however it was clear to me that the Elyrans were angry about the injury to their crew. I interjected and introduced myself, informing them that while command was not aboard, I would be willing to hear them out. They made it clear that they did not intend for the miners in question to be extradited to Elyra, however they did want replacements for the atmospheric air lost in the vent, along with "PAP" equipment. I took this time to send an emergency message to the SCC regarding this sensitive diplomatic matter, and waiting some time. Seeing the Elyrans were impatient however, and against the objections of the Warden, I accepted the Elyrans' proposal to allow them to dock to negotiate further. They docked without incidents, and I introduced myself and my accompaniment, which was myself, Clark Coldsmith, Le Tedrow, and Lillian Nystrom. I had asked the engineers to accompany me to discuss the reparations as they were the most knowledgable on derelicts. Both discussed the incident with me, and stated that what the Shaft Miners did was improper behavior for a salvage crew. After exchanging greetings, I allowed the Ensign to keep their pistol holstered (as this would be respectful for a commanding officer), but asked the riflemen to not be armed. The Elyrans complied with this request, and I escorted them to the lounge to discuss this. During our transit however, S'Tani Istan was in the hallway, and proceeded to make the sound of barking, like a dog, to the Elyrans. They were understandably offended, and I assured them this was not planned. I had previously asked the shaft miners to stay away from the Elyrans, and informed the entire crew to be nice as I was dealing with a diplomatic incident. This single instance from the miner nearly derailed attempts to make amends. Thankfully the Elyrans were patient, and we continued to the lounge. At the lounge, we discussed what happened. We immediately declared neutrality on the issues of border disputes, and declined to get further into that. According to Rifleman Al-Jaziri, they met the shaft miners aboard, who they identified as harmless civilian scrappers. In exchange for allowing the Elyrans to repair the ship, they were allowed to salvage the ship for valuables. During this time however, one of the shaft miners vented the ship partially. According to the Elyrans, some did insult the miners, and weapons were drawn, but the fireteam leader ordered weapons put away. The shaft miners were then warned for their carelessness, as they injured the Elyran personnel. Afterwards, the entire ship was allegedly intentionally entirely vented by the shaft miners, who proceeded to leave the wreck. As the Elyrans did not have full EVA gear, this nearly killed a few of them aboard. They were infuriated by this display of recklessness and carelessness, and even Lillian Nystrom accompanying me agreed this was extremely non-standard behavior for a salvage operation. In the end, we negotiated the transfer of around 30,000 kPa of atmospheric air to replenish to lost stores of atmospheric air in the derelict ship. Le Tedrow left to fill canisters, while I offered non-alcoholic refreshments to the Elyrans. They declined, and we decided to move to collect the canisters of air. Soon after we have a biohazard issue of Greimorians aboard, and two crewmen were severely injured. The Elyran Ensign offered to help, and lacking medical staff I agreed to allow them to assist. They assisted two patients, one of which (Santiago Ibarluzea) was close to death, as I recorded a brain activity level of 6%. Thinking fast, Elyran Rifleman Al-Jaziri performed surgery on the individual directly on a stasis bed, as they were too critical to transport. With the assistance of Elyran Rifleman Nawra Faizen, Zhi Jiang, and Ahari Zerikahn, they were saved with surgery to repair their brain and lungs. I wish to take the time commend the Elyrans for their quick thinking that allowed us to save the lives of two crew members, one of whom was near-death. This also assisted in our diplomatic dealings, as I discussed our shared religion and comraderie from saving a life from this. I will need to refer Santiago Iberluzea to psychiatric evaluation however, as this surgery was performed with mere painkillers, as anaesthesia was unavailable. Le Tedrow was able to fill the canisters with atmospheric air, and with this we stated our goodbyes to the Elyrans. Afterwards however, S'Tani Istan stated, on -public communications- whether the "Elyran Dogs were gone yet". Thankfully they were, as this could have easily re-ignited their anger at the shaft miner. I turned myself in for charges afterwards, which is noted below in "additional notes". Submitted Evidence: - Recorder Logs gathered by The Watchmen Who Never Rests - Incident Report 56cac9ad00018d916c27a0097cf91434 - Emergency message sent to the SCC around 0430 Would you like to be personally interviewed?: [X] - Yes [ ] - No Did you report it to a Head of Staff or a superior? If so, who? If not, why?: No. No command was awake, and attempts to contact the SCC directly via emergency communication were not met with a response. Actions taken: I negotiated with the Elyran ensign and riflemen in question, to bring this to a peaceful conclusion. We successfully negotiated reparations of the atmospheric air the miners vented, which while was one-fourth of the stores of the Horizon, Le Tedrow informed me this could be easily replaced. Additional Notes: Allowing the Elyrans to dock and negotiating with them without referring to command was "Exceeding Official Powers" and I turned myself in for such, but I would like this charge reviewed due to the extreme and sensitive nature of the incident.

Dreary Futures II (Episode two: Kobayashi Maru) Feedback
GeneralCamo replied to Lucaken's topic in General
I would like to preface this by stating that this simulation was a good initiative from the event staff: We were able to figure out flaws with the command structure and the ship, without the real risk of losing our characters. I will admit that I had some trouble getting used to the new maneuvers, but I believed I performed well in the second half until I exploded in the bridge. I would now like to go ahead and bring forth the issues I noted, as Abdul Ibn Turkiel, Bridge Crewman: Crew -must- understand that during a combat situation, or really any dire emergency, comfort must come last. Complaining about being jostled around because we're evading shots in the bridge does not help us at all: We are trying to protect the ship and its crew from dying. That being said, things like surgery being interrupted as magboots and surgery tables did not properly buckle people in was not ideal. Even with warning this would have been extremely disruptive. I recommend the mapping team add more places to buckle down during an emergency situation like this, as they -will- get jostled. And the bugs with buckling be fixed as well. I noted major vulnerabilities with the ship and its systems. The bridge is a major issue as taking it out effectively kills command integrity. To offset this, I propose void suits be added nearby for bridge crew to take, without having to go two decks down to grab suits (which is not ideal in a true emergency situation, or an ambush). A CIC installed in the command bunker, allowing full control of the ship from there, was also proposed in discord; I recommend this to allow a backup command position. Void suits already exist nearby this area. Engines are far too unprotected. A good shot to the supermatter engine or the tesla would end a round. I recommend double walling these critical areas to protect them from such catastrophic damage. Research has basically nothing to do in this situation. Allowing them the ability to research and print experimental ship ammo types is a possible idea to give them something to do in this situation, and others. Overall good fun to be had. -
Reporting Personnel: Comoe Oulai-Tape Job Title of Reporting Personnel: Warden Game ID: Round before ckR-a6o2 Personnel Involved: - Eku Ahulku, Gardener - Offender - Mira Tilton, Security Officer - Witness - ISU-Livada, Security Unit - Witness/Victim - Bright, Operations Manage - Victim Secondary Witnesses: - Ahari Zerikanh, Security Officer - Witness - IRU-Aria, Investigator - Witness Time of Incident: 2464-11-12 Real Time: 11/12/2022 Location of Incident: Operations Hallway, Brig Nature of Incident: [ ] - Workplace Hazard [ ] - Accident/Injury [ ] - Destruction of Property [ ] - Neglect of Duty [X] - Harassment [ ] - Assault [X] - Misconduct [ ] - Other _____ (Place an x in the box that applies. If other, replace line and specify.) Overview of the Incident: I first heard of the Unathi being a security issue when ISU-Livada reported that Eku Ahulku threatened the positronic unit Bright, acting as Operations Manager, with an Axe. I asked to confer with Bright on whether they should arrest him or not; Bright declined. With that we decided not to arrest them, but ISU-Livada took it upon themselves to attempt to de-escalate the issue. In response, the Unathi Offender began to attack ISU-Livada with an Axe. ISU-Livada received minor damage, but was able to pin down the Unathi. At this point, it was decided to arrest the Unathi as they attempted to attack a security unit, therefore a charge of Vandalism applied. At this point I referred to Frederick Zhao, Chief Engineer, to confer with command on whether they deserved brig time. After a time, it was decided by command that the incident did warrant it. During this time however, the Unathi escaped their confinements, and proceeded to once again attack ISU-Livada, this time with their fists. With Command now requesting brig time, and the further violence committed against the Idris Security Unit, a second charge of Vandalism was applied along with Threat of Serious Injury. They were brigged for 20 minutes. During this time, the Unathi continued to engage with security members. They claimed that the positronic unit "sexually harassed" them by utilizing normal terms of endearment, as Idris recommends. They also further threatened violence, which Ahari Zerikanh attempted to de-escalate. Logs are attached of a snippet of this from brig recording equipment. When their sentence was up, they continued to threaten the ISU, saying "Seven days", as they were escorted out by my tajaran colleague. Submitted Evidence: -(Video logs gathered from brig processing room) -(Audio logs gathered from brig hallway) - Further evidence is available from video logs from the Operations Hallway, however this will require CCIA and/or Command approval to unseal Would you like to be personally interviewed?: [X] - Yes [ ] - No Did you report it to a Head of Staff or a superior? If so, who? If not, why?: Yes: Frederick Zhao, Chief Engineer Actions taken: Chief Engineer referred incident to rest of heads aboard. They recommended brig time for the incident before the subject was remitted into custody in the brig. Additional Notes: At this time, I would recommend a probationary period, along with an escalation of their threat level to crew from "Low" to "Medium." While they only attacked synthetics, one of them was a member of security, and the other was a member of command. Even though the positronic units are not flesh-and-blood members of the crew, the attack and threats on them represent a willingness to defy the command structure of the vessel.

Reporting Personnel: Comoe Oulai-Tape Job Title of Reporting Personnel: Warden (IDRIS) Personnel in Question: AGI Job Title of Personnel in Question: Assistant (INDEP) Reason for Review: [X] - Extended Arrest History [X] - Grievous Infraction on Record [ ] - Other: ____ Notes: The Positronic Unit designated "AGI" has an infraction list that runs several pages long on a standard terminal. Most of the charges are for assaulting other synthetics and sapient beings, but also include charges such as "Grand Theft" and "Suspected Murder". This unit has a threat designation of "Low" which I consider to be extremely low, considering the unit has a watch order on it. In addition, while its official handler is listed, the owner of the unit is listed as "Private", which is another concern I have regarding this unit. In plain writing, I would usually never question the administrative capabilities of the SCC and its associated members, but in this case I must strenuously object to this subpar hire aboard the ship. I believe their red portfolio speaks for itself in this matter.

BYOND key: generalcamo Discord Username: GeneralCamo#4928 Character names: Len Zhang, Surgeon Abdul ibn Turkiel, Bridge Officer Milton Tovarch, Machinist A few others used for experiments I have abandoned How long have you been playing on Aurora?: Approximately a year Have you received any administrative actions? And how serious were they? I received a warning once for not obviously antagging, but no official action was taken Please provide well articulated answers to the following questions in a paragraph each. What do you think the OOC purpose of a Head of Staff is, ingame?: OOC, Head of Staff are expected to bring their experience with roleplaying into the community, and contribute positively to the community's growth. To this end, they are expected to show good roleplaying, and provide opportunities to characters; this could be in the form of creating a rivalry for a traitor to exploit, commanding a department or the ship itself during an emergency, or even just giving a new player a job or some training in their position so they can continue to provide their experience to Aurora. What do you think the OOC responsibilities of Whitelisted players are to other players, and how would you strive to uphold them?: Primarily to provide an example to the community on roleplaying, and hopefully provide an incentive to stay with the server and perhaps even apply to a whitelist on their own. Assisting and interacting with other players is the primary thing to do here, along with upholding the rules of the server and the SOP of the ship itself. Could you give us the gist of what is currently happening in Tau Ceti and how it affected your character and their career? The two primary characters I have played are Abdul and Len. I shall provide information for both of them. Currently not much is happening in Tau Ceti, however there was recently the refugee crisis from the Jargon Federation, and the greater war between the new SCC/Biesel and Sol. In addition, there is a great shortage of Phoron which spurred the creation of the SCCV Horizon, which both characters serve on. For Len Zhang, they are a veteran of Zeng-Hu, and has treated many patients aboard the Aurora and Horizon. Originally contracted with Nanotrasen, during the war in Sol, they treated many of the casualties that were eventually brought onto the NSS Exodus. This caused him some trauma that took him out of work for a year. He is now installed with a memory inhibitor to prevent further issues, and was soon after transferred to the new SCC, and the NSS Aurora, where they continued their job. During this time, the Jargon Federation had an election, which eventually resulted in the refugee crisis. His thoughts on this were, rather mixed. He heard many rumors about the Kala on the Aurora, but also knew about xenophobia. His loyalty to the company was paramount however, and he never spoke out publically against the Jargon Federation or the refugees until the terrorist attack, which he personally condemned. He now serves aboard the SCCV Horizon, where he continues to provide top-notch medical services to the crew aboard. As for Abdul, they served as a third officer aboard a TCFL vessel (At this time I am not sure if they served as a Legionary or a Prefect). Their family historically has served in a military capacity, formerly for the Sol Government and now for the Republic of Biesel's Legion. During the recent war they were -not- deployed to Biesel, instead being deployed to defend New Gibson, and as a result only partook in relatively minor skirmishes compared to the main fighting. They were however, soon after deployed to the recently annexed Corporate Reconstruction Zone, where he saw first-hand the instability and chaos of the region. With his commission ended, Abdul takes his command experience to the newly launched SCCV Horizon to assist in the search for desperately needed Phoron, to hopefully avoid another chaotic instance such as what he saw in the invasion and the CRZ. What roles do you plan on playing after the application is accepted? For Len Zhang, I plan to go with CMO. For Abdul ibn Turkiel, I plan to go with Executive Officer with the possibility to later go with Captain depending on how they develop. I may create a character to serve as Consular to the Empire of Dominia, but not for the trial. Have you familiarized yourself with the wiki pages for the command roles? Yes, along with the chain of command page. I have also pointed out inaccuracies and outdated information to the wiki team. Characters you intend to use for command or have created for command. Include the job they will be taking.: Len Zhang: CMO Abdul ibn Turkiel: XO, CO Do you understand your whitelist is not permanent, and may be stripped following continuous administrative action? Yes Have you linked your byond account to the forums? Yes Extra notes: I'm generally more available on weekends than on the weekdays, but I shall strive to play more on weekdays while I am on trial. I just have work to balance out with Aurora.
