After a lengthy discussion with our staff about the OOC shitfest we have applied week bans to lemon, lordraven, and chaz. All of these players have a sort of history with causing a ruckus in OOC. This went over the line, period and its not something we are going to allow here. Normaldeath is a new player and hes apologized so lets just leave it at that. This doesnt have to be a "safe place" but you are expected to keep things civil. Remember the golden rule folks "dont be a dick".

I see that the player in question has two warnings on their account a few months back about bad roleplay and none since. Might be possible they where a new player adjusting to the RP climate? Seriously though, please ahelp.

exactly /where/ did this belief come that their where wounded at the vault? why couldn't you send someone else? why did it have to be you?

Visual basic is my AI. I was only half playing the round honestly, lots of ahelps. Anyway the only problem i have here is every single space squid captain or RD has a prejudice against AI and synthetics. on paper it makes sense and their lore can justify it. Unfortunately its never done well and its usually only used as an excuse to validhunt traitor AIs and malfunctioning AIs. you dont get to threaten and get an attitude with the station AI when you literally just joined and know nothing of the situation. Priorities where great that round. Anyhoo, besides the order to try and kill me (i would have loved you to try honestly) i didnt really have a problem. The round was a clusterfuck and we all made bad decisions. The nuke op (alberyk) was literally allowed to walk down the hall and steal the nuke while command and us where all arguing. My frustrations against the captain are entirely personal. I dont think this really warrants any punishment besides "hey remember its another player behind that AI, dont be so mean yeah?"

Yeah, i dont think this is gonna happen man. You took an ID off a cryoed HoP and when bwoinked you thought cryoed people where fair game. You have a history a football field wide i dont know how you could have thought that. how can we expect you to enforce the rules when you dont even know them?

Good reply, i think you're sincere. One final thing though and something a lot of prospective staff have to learn the hard way. you play a lot, you also play captain quite a bit. Understand that if you become a mod it WILL affect your gameplay. You will know every single round what the antags are and who the antags are. You will see the logs of urist mcrobust devouring all of science, you will see the log of baldy mctraitor planting and detonating a bomb at the armory. You will know pretty much everything that is going on during the round at all times. Its not something i expect you to have a strong answer for you mind you, i am interested in your thoughts on the matter.

I very rarely invoke the rule "only post if involved". I think i am going to do it now. This topic has been derailed into oblivion and now we are gettin pretty malicious over nebulous issues. I get if you're frustrated over something but contrary to what some of may think i do want to help. After looking into the meat of the OP closer i honestly dont see much to punish over. I dont mind when people get heated over various issues in OOC and i also dont care if they attack staff. Usually a grain of truth exists at least.

I have reservations. you occasionally clash with the rules and IC conduct with your captain. im concerned you might be heavy handed in dealing with issues, can i trust you to make a judgement call based on context?

Seen you a lot even though im a night owl. We can always use more people for primetime and i think you got the judgement skills for the job.

The vampire help section should be added to our wiki, onto the powers though. Blood heal is awesome and tremendously powerful. It heals ALL damage types everytime it ticks for like 20 damage each. I foresee some problems with "presence" however. how far is this supposed to go? how amiable to your suggestions do people become? do you just become incredibly charismatic? this will probably solve itself though as more players see it. frenzy... not sure how i feel about it. I cant find any info on what it DOES outside of makes you hulk-yell and drives you crazy. Does it make you stronger? it honestly should at least make you pain-crit immune. Or is reaching frenzy supposed to be a bad thing?

Right, first off OP this should have been a player complaint. Staff complaints are for contesting a decision a staff member made, such as a warning or telling you not to do X. Second, do not presume what would have and what would not have resulted in a ban, You will find we are extremely lenient for legit fuckups, Almost everyone currently playing here has blown the engine at least once. I personally have done it twice during my staff tenure. So onto the meat of this issue. I find your situations to be essentially a false dichotomy. Lots of our staff have litttle or no knowledge of many areas of the game, Game experience is a bonus and there isnt any set list of "things you need to know to be mod". What is MUCH more important is having good judgement, and knowing where to find that info. a lot of us are wiki heroes. That is hardly reason to de-mod someone. If this first situation is not true then he must have had malicious intent and is lieing in your mind. This is disproven by him clearly stating over the radio to vacate the area, Assuming someone is either incompetent or outright malicious is a questionable way to look at things. All of this stemming from you refusing to believe a mod could be so careless. You have to remember that space station 13 is a game pretty much designed to be horrendously lethal. bombs, meteors, breaches, killer vines, clowns, changelings, nuke ops and revolutions. there are a billion different ways for you to meet your untimely demise every round and more often than not the station ends up looking like swiss cheese. Isnt it more reasonable to chalk this up to bad call and move on?

First off, the torture thing. It would have been completely acceptable to ghost or ahelp about that. there have been a few times where things like that go too far and it makes people feel incredibly uncomfortable in having to RP it. This isnt something i invoke lightly because "MUH FEELINS", but something like that over 30-45 minutes? yeah...i would have ghosted. I dont know if the players hyping up LOOC is really a problem. Players do it in gunfights and other high action situations but i admit it kinda makes it all a bit...disturbing. Antag actions are supposed to have PURPOSE and a REASON. you cant just fuck shit up 4 no raisin. What exactly was the point of this? The first part of this complaint though....Fuck, i have no clue. I mean i understand if people think theirs a problem that doesn't get addressed they are gonna get loud about it. I always get a peculiar feeling when im accused of these sort of things. I am literally a guy with a fancy admin tag who just wants people to have fun, i dont sit here on a power trip, It might just be pointless shitposting but i like to think theirs a reason for it.

This log is the first shot i can see being fired, it looks like lordraven shot first? There also arent any attack logs to indicate you where heading there to treat wounded.

Then you find someone with the IT skills or work around your AI being the dungeon master for the shift . Anyways i think this is resolved now, HoS made decisions that weren't necessarily and the doctor was spoken too ingame about ethics and why they really shouldn't do what he did outside EXTREME and extenuating circumstances.
