  1. I didn't know this was a thing as I saw Captain, HOS, and CMO being able to upload laws. Also, I looked at my old records. I already had it jotted down that my character knows IT. (Also, I've been wanting to start IT Department. ) Then i guess you're fine on that as well.
  2. anyways, Unless you have IT training or you are an RD/CE/roboticist you shouldnt be uploading new laws to anyone. That is not knowledge that comes par for the course as a head of staff.
  3. The ban has been carried out, reasons have been given and the expiration date of this thread has passed. This thread will now be locked and archived.
  4. Yeah...half my characters are complete assholes. If its any consolation i feel bad ooc for it sometimes XD.
  5. fixed, maybe? The backstory is staying short and generic on purpose. Its difficult to come up with a good backstory if i haven't actually played the character first. I like to keep them open ended since anything i write here is just going to get changed in the first few rounds i play anyway.
  6. i KNOW they are nothing like sylvari, i just like the fundamental of plant biology. Also i tend to make my backstories sparse, generic, and relatively small. Its hard for me to invent a character without playing them so i kinda keep them open ended.
  7. You dont have a lizard white list? Color me surprised! i have had numerous good instances of RP with you. The most memorable might be when i observed your nurse...echo i think assist a dieing patient with suicide. Really cool and i think you understand the RP game well.
  8. Ban placed, locking and archiving.
  9. BYOND Key: Garnascus Character Names: Ludwick Foreal. J.A.C.K., P.E.R.I. Gregor Butterfill, Akhmar Ahmed. Isaac Taylor. Species you are applying to play: Dionaea What color do you plan on making your first alien character (Dionaea & IPCs exempt): Have you read our lore section's page on this species?: Yes i have Please provide well articulated answers to the following questions in a paragraph format. One paragraph minimum per question Why do you wish to play this specific race: Plant people are awesome, the dionaea remind me a lot of the sylvari in guild wars 2. Humanoids with biology similar to plants. Although thats pretty much the only similarity they have. when i read the wiki page for these guys i found that the more that get together the more intelligent they become. the skrell basically have orders to destroy anything past a certain level for fear of it being deity levels of intellect. Its apparently just theoretical as you would need millions and millions of nymphs. Lastly i like how the they communicate through singing. If you think about it nature kinda communicates through song already. wing, rain, trees rustling all have a distinct melody and rhythm. Identify what makes role-playing this species different than role-playing a Human: Literally everything. Emotions will be felt differently or even not at all. Dionaea may struggle with some human concepts such as racism or individuality. Humans do not have a hivemind and they cant meld with each other. I think being able to survive in space with only a flashlight will let me play a character that coexists in a way with space that i cant get to with a human. I am also interested in playing a race of people with a very peculiar sense of ego boundary. A human knows exactly where they end and another human begins, or where a part of their body ends and begins. A fully grown diona which can be composed of a few different nymphs will not see themselves the same way i think. A singular entity composed of numerous parts which can potentially be independent will likely view themselves as just an additional "piece", since diona can theoretically merge infinitely. Character Name: creeping tendril of frost Please provide a short backstory for this character, approximately 2 paragraphs When the trade deal was signed between the skrell and the dionaea; frost was one of the first who volunteered to leave the dead planet. It was jarring at first, to be so disconnected from his fellows. The voices in his mind and the touch of an immense conscious was a comfort often missed. A replacement for this was found however, in the new and alien world of the skrell. Frost was slow to learn the intricacies of skrellian tech but his eagerness to learn showed in his work as a lab assistant. When the opportunity presented itself for work aboard one of nanotrasen's research stations, frost jumped at the chance to learn more. The hotbed of the newly formed biesel government combined with nanotrasens shady business practices will likely entertain frost's craving for experiences for some time to come. Frost has accepted a job offer of a scientist aboard the NSS Exodus. What do you like about this character? I like his craving for knowledge, and to understand the alien races around him. I enjoy his methodical nature and his confusion at human functions. such as needing to eat or having to wear a space suit. In an effort for frost to better integrate into human society he has cultivated a mold within his body that emits a pleasing aroma to humans. I always imagined most diona smelling like wet wood or mildew so i like my characters to have a quirk or two. How would you rate your role-playing ability? Maybe 7/10. Sometimes higher if i get really invested in the round or im playing one of my head characters. Sometimes when i antag i tend to just blow stuff up and wing it from then on. Lately i have tried to curb that, do some more interesting things. Notes: Please let me be a salad man.
  10. Application approved. Glory to Aurora.
  11. Application shelved due to inactivity. You can PM tishinastalker or myself if you are interested in reinstating it.
  12. Application denied, however do not let this discourage you from applying in the future. Feel free to PM Tishinastalker or myself with pointers or details on this app.
  13. Application approved. Glory to Aurora.
  14. The sequence of events is not as relevant as you think it is. I was watching the entire round. I watched the raiders threaten people over comms and then break into cargo. you then called ERT/red alert. its really that simple, you do not call ERT the second antags break in and outnumber you. Its really that simple and the warning is not being lifted.
  15. unbanned, this was a long time ago so i dont see the harm.
  16. are you sure your ckey is correct? im not showing anything for f1ction.
  17. Character complaints are dead last in my priority to deal with. I simply do not have the time for the effort they require. anyways i kinda agree with jackboot here. It only makes sense for SOME semblance of ethics to exist for doctors. Ripping out the heart of an antag who trusted you to operate is such a bizarre breach of ethics for even the most nefarious doctors aboard. Even OOC its kind of a dick move, not something i think we should allow.
  18. No, false, incorrect. You called an ERT the second the raiders breached into the station. It is literally your job as captain to handle this shit. you dont call a single ERT guy to "assist" that is not what ERT are for. I will say it once again, ERT is for when the station is FUBAR and people are dieing left and right. Neither of those conditions where met when you called ERT. The warning is staying, you can try to justify this all you want from an IC standpoint. Its similar to heads of staff that justify an emergency shuttle when an antag blows up a few welder tanks and nobody is on station to set power. You do not prematurely end the round just because you dont like the direction its going. The warning is not being removed at this time.
  19. right, the thing is the MO of breaking into the armory, running around and taking IDs, and then trying to kill yourself is pretty typical of random griefers we tend to get. Ill give you the benefit and assume this was just a mistake. that being said, i went too far here. I shouldnt have just slapped a permaban on you. I made the mistake of assuming you where just a griefer/troll. which even the obvious ones i probably shouldnt do that too. i apologize.
  20. I have never wanted to bin something and sticky something at the same time. We need a hall of fame section.
  21. RP is fucking lame anyway. I have been trying to transition this server into a murder zone kill box for months now.
  22. no, shit was not hitting the fan. i was watching. they had JUST broken into cargo. You probably had reason to call red alert but you didnt have reason to call ERT. Nobody had died and damage to the station was honestly pretty minimal. I blew off your IC reasoning because i frankly am not interested in it. You can justify it all you want from an IC standpoint. The fact of the matter is an ERT escalate the situation to a deathmatch 9/10 times. you surrender authority of the station over to a "trained" team of specialists. The bottom line here is you DO NOT call an ERT the second a team of raiders show up with guns. it is literally your job as captain to handle the situation before an ERT is needed. you had to go OOC so appoint someone else acting captain and leave it at that.
  23. Your OOC reasons where literally the first reasons you gave me. You called red alert and ERT knowing you wouldnt be around for any of it. They had not yet killed anyone and by the time you logged off there where three officers, one detective, one cadet, and i think maybe a forensic tech. You dont call red alert and ERT as a precaution. You call ERT when shits FUBAR.
  24. Yeah thats standard procedure. Although i dont think anyone has ever been arrested for not doing it.
