  1. Valin makes his way to the empty stand by the end of the street and parks his cart beside it. He then moves about to sit on the back of the cart and organize the various crops he has this day, setting up little placards by them to show their prices. He doesn't have much need steep sales as his life if plain enough to afford, so his prices just barely undercut other local growers with larger stocks.
  2. The terms and conditions page shows basic information about the service and includes a clause for return of the payment if the tip turns out to be false or if some form of fraud was commited, with the additional option for Craig to sue anyone commiting fraud. ((Until we get an economy, all tips are assumed paid. If the economy thing exists real payments will be made. Beyond that, You can post the tip here or PM it to me to remain anonymous. Up to you how you want to do so.))
  3. I'm not asking for a change, or this would be in the "sugestions" forums. I felt like sharing a thing that I saw. >.> Perhaps this should be moved to "off topic."
  4. I know many people have likely seen this, but I just wanted to point something out about humans and how we view them in most sci-fi settings.
  5. Having things for a player to do is also not a bad thing. Lets say we put a crew monitoring computer and the alerts computers in the brig. Give them their own power supply and if the crew is short staffed or needs the help the warden can active those and ask the prisoners to help, possibly in exchange for a small time off sentence or a luxury. That's what I call putting prisoners to work. Give them something helpful that lets them interact and not be forgotten.
  6. Valin's day began simply. A warm, though bland, breakfast and a packed cart. His home was a bit further away, towards areas alloted for farming, though still close enough for city locations to be worth the walk. With a heave he began his trek, pulling his cart along the path to lead him to a place in the markets to set up shop. ((I'm assuming it was fairly obvious from some of my descriptive text that he's a farmer. I might only have a small quantity of provisions and most of them might not be for sale, but I'd like to be setting up to sell some veggies. Also, never done this type of RP before, so if I'm not doing things right, PM me and I'll fix it all up.))
  7. I dislike this. I'm down with a stats system as I'm fairly unrobust and would like a fighting chance at playing in security roles, but nothing forced by job. What if I'm a 10 year sec officer who just finished appropriate schooling to become a lab assistant, I suddenly lose my 10 years of combat training? Nope. 110% against that idea.
  8. Name: Valin Do'Crae Gender: Male Trait: Lowly Peasant Appearance: Valin is a short man, only 4'10" tall. His his is auburn and cropped short but messy. He wraps himself in linen rags to avoid exposure and to keep the elements at bay. He is as tanned as can be from working the local fields. In his early 30's he could be confused for being older due to how the sun has damaged his skin from long hours of working outside.
  9. Brig times are inherited from a low-RP server and are intended as punishment for players, near as I can tell. Spending 5-15 minutes in a cell isn't an IC punishment for any character who doesn't suffer from severe ADHD. But that's the thing, we don't need to be punishing players for generating RP for security. I mean. Lets play a few rounds where NOTHING goes wrong, still wanna play sec and aimlessly wander the halls? Hell I tried to sell drugs to a sec officer once just to give him something to do. Besides, a real work shift won't be 2 hours, so I'm sure the times are designed to reflect a longer work day in which a punishment actually lasts hours. Sadly we RP in real-ish time. I don't mind brig times, so long as I'm not forgotten.
  10. Extended are the best rounds for your criminally affiliated characters to actually show their criminal affiliations without it being on a scale of traitor. Things like selling drugs or smuggling happen best on extended rounds.
  11. The thing is that a lore justification does not enable them to bypass existing laws or server rules. "But your lore says characters like mine exist, why are you banning me?" Because, our server rules say that unless you're an antag, I have the right to make you fuck off if you fuck around. That's why. Even Antags only have so much slack in the leash. ICly it helps those of us that aren't morons work it out, but they still get punished ICly for breaking regulations and the like, so I don't see the harm.
  12. To be fair, lore wise, I would almost assume humans would have taught Tajaran to use the term "mate" and all other terms that cycle around that concept. I'm not saying it's 100% right, but it's a term I can kinda justify humans giving to Tajaran "beasts".
  13. The point about the red spacesuits is valid even when in a differing game mode. I can't tell you how often a malf AI will talk about people in red hardsuits seen near the bridge. It pisses me off to no end that I have to respond to those ICly when I might know otherwise. I don't even care if the objective is just a distraction, it is a very obvious twist towards trying to make some of our robusty players instantly begin gearing and searching for a nuke ops team, because the players know they robust guys will validhunt those red suits. -.-
  14. Are AP classes a thing in college? And aren't they advanced classes? Why would I do that to myself?
  15. As a captain I've never had reason to borg anyone. This is certainly, via regulations, be something I approved of or enforced if it came to my desk with legitimate claims.
  16. I wish I had a small percentage of your intellect, or that of many of our other players. SO many of you can figure this stuff out and know so much that I cringe to think I can try tackling college.
  17. Awesome! Thanks to KillerHurtz for this sprite, it's really amazing! And since I can't get an image to display properly on here...
  18. I'm guilty of not examining people. I read kinda slow and it stalls my RP. If I have time to stand nearby, I'll click it up and give it a go while we conversate, but in general I just do what I can based on sprite and manifest memorization.
  19. No! Meow! Come back to me! I'll miss Lyar!
  20. BYOND Key: Xelnagahunter Character name: Eric Derringer Item name: Antique Pocket Watch Why is your character carrying said item to work? It is an old item from his past and the kind of man he is, Eric likes to keep it safe. It's a very old watch probably made in the early to mid 2000's. It has been passed through his family and Eric's grandfather, the man who gave Eric his drive to be the person he is today, left it to him in a will. Eric cherishes the item and has mildly vowed to himself that it won't leave his possession until he has someone to pass it on to. Item function(s): Just like a standard watch in game, only it has to be held. Item description: This golden pocket watch has a family crest on the outside of the lid and a sequence of numbers scratched inside. Item appearance: (TBD, I'm in the works of obtaining a sprite.) Additional comments: If anyone is interested in perhaps spriting this for me, I'd be grateful, though I am activly asking people I know as well. PM me with results if you do. Here is sprite: http://www.mediafire.com/view/j8vbexms9ny038p/derriwatch%282%29.dmi#
  21. I love it. I'd say you've done a wonderful job there. ^_^
  22. Come to Florida Land and team up with my wife to cook things for me.
  23. What you already have SKull, along with the huge amount of support for staff communication with one another. Too often I would ask a question with 5 other staff either observing or playing, and not a soul would help me. I understand being busy, but yeah.
  24. I'd still love to see Qwerty and Derringer based on other people's perceptions of them. I don't really know what a lot of this list means and don't feel like reading all of them to figure mine out myself. But as stated, I'd love to know what you all think of them.
  25. My wife is an amazing cook and enjoys baking. The other day she made almost 7 dozen peanut butter cookies and today she plans to work on some kind of cake.
