There is a secret war underneath your feet. Mice war against drone to forge a home whilst the drones in the sight of the glorious Fabricator, the one which gives life, seek to exterminate the vile vermin and purify the station. It could be a verb that apply damage at random to any drone or mouse mob in an adjacent tile with a pop up only readable to mice and drones (or everyone) - "X thrashes and gnashed". This would effect no one else. Disagree? ?

Hello, I'm looking for a local Tribunal Priest who has clearance to board the Aurora Station. I'm hoping to form a study and shared worship group but have yet to meet an actual Priest. Let me know by replying to this notice and we can discuss. Many thanks and praise the goddess. Dante of House Volvalaad

Sounds rad, why not make it so it's a frontier region trapped in a three way between all factions?

General rules: Don't be a dick. first rule of the server. RPing a mouse is fun, i like to nuzzle people, hide under tables, watch events, nibble at food, etc Ganking and purposeless murdering is not okay, for anyone. I get that plenty of people's characters don't like mice. but there's ways to deal with that. you can tell it to shoo, you can call it names, you can RP waving a weapon threateningly. Just roleplay, do something interesting. If you're making threats and not getting a response, by all means proceed with murdering. but a player mouse will generally leave for safer pastures if its obviously unwelcome. Make your intentions clear, give it a reasonable chance to flee. Shout something at it. Talk about how it's a health hazard, or loudly call a janitor to come remove it. There's a million ways to deal with a mouse in a hostile manner that don't involve ganking it Randomly stomping on or hitting a mouse because it had the gall to be in an adjacent tile to you is not okay. especially not when it's RPing with someone else. mice die in one hit regardless of the form they've taken, behind that mouse is still a player. It's very easy to identify a player mouse, they crawl through vents, move more than one tile at a time, hide under things, etc. Today i wanted to watch an interesting event. peaceful vox traders holding a meeting with command staff. I got gibbed by a vaurca for the crime of hiding quietly under a table the first time around. Second time, i had a rappor with one of the vox, and was getting along quite well until the security officer, who'd been waiting like a hawk, stomped me as soon as he had the tiniest opportunity, interrupting RP with another vox who wanted to eat me (and was putting forth some interesting effort in RPing it out, too). the third time a borg batonned me instantly as i approached the room After a certain point, it just seems pretty dickish. There's no RP value in random murder. We're all here to RP and have fun, not randomly ruin others fun without reason. The worst is those people who see a mouse and just say nothing, immediately begin chasing and trying to stomp it without a word or an emote just...don't be a dick ?

They'd have to physically break in with tools in the same way you can physically break into any department with tools. The same people who deconstruct glass to get into X restricted area would be the same people who do this thus no net increase in bwoinks. I actually want to see dodgy dealings in maintenance without having to include an engineer. There's nothing wrong with it imo unless people starting doing low LRP stuff though I'm not sure what they would even be.
-
Why though?
-
I'd also say leave a few doors in engineering and other key engineering places for drones and I guess weenie engineers who are too weenie to unscrew.
-
I think we should remove maintenance access doors and instead have access panels. You unscrew them and then pry them open to get into maint. You can crowbar them back in and screw driver them shut. Means more sneaky access to maint and sounds more maintenance-ey in my opinion. It'd also free up space because instead of having a door which needs floor clearance it's a wall panel thus tables, plant pots, lockers etc could go in front of them. Radiation storm wise we could either keep as is but with the time between "storm approaching" and "storm here" tweeked to be longer so people can unscrew panels, make is so other areas of the station offer protection or I guess remove it but I'd rather not. Thoughts and ideas?

Shouldn't be able to resist cult imo either. I'd be ok with it if the alternative is death or something.

Essentially don't randomise the time is the suggestion? I agree BUT that will mean some times zones always play at night and visa versa. I'd argue that this a cool thing. Night shift boyes represent.
-
I say do it. More interesting for the deceased and why not allow lings the ability to gather intelligence by playing dead?
-
Yeah that was essentially the gist of it.

Land There's a New Party In Town, Hamm Larnec Unveils New Political Group The 'Freedom Party' New political party sparks interest across the city of Mendell and though small, promises big changes. A small group of relative new comers to the political scene, Mr Larnec gave the Bieselitte Times a taste of what his new party has to offer. This was something we tried to get implemented in the past for Basic. Essentially you pick the type of Basic (say Sol-Basic) and the prefix of your sentence would change for example, a Dominian speaking Basic would appears as - Domino's McPizza utters "What if the offworlder consents though?". This might be something we could still do but with basic only at this stage. Coders thoughts on this?

[Denied] Lore Canonization App
Zundy replied to CoolDude223334's topic in Lore Canonization Applications Archive
Ok I mean I personally don't mind it as a one off as a character(I'm assuming your character) would be an interesting concept if done tastefully. Reminds me off SOMA off the top of my head but there are other works of fiction that did.it better idk. That being said as a "thing" for characters to be it's a bit whack to have everyone be a guy from essentially now. I'd imagine a clone created in this way would be extremely extremely valuable for historical purposes thus so rare as to be an one off on station. Unless @Pegasus wants to jump in here we'd say this isn't going to be canonised but in the case of your character it's alright as a one off. I'd also state that if anyone else has an interesting but somewhat wild character concept let the lore staff know and we'll likely accommodate it unless it's outrageous at which point we will help you tweek it to be setting appropriate. -
Off the back of this: Simply add a directive or something similar to encourage if not obligate heads of staff to distribute the assistants on station across the various departments based on said assistants qualifications if any. This could perhaps be largely directed at HoPs. These jobs would be low level (Medical Orderly, Cooking Assistant, Cargo Assistant etc) but help players get a feel of roles (if they're new) or just be a nice RP tool for players playing assistant characters. It also gives the heads or at least the HoP something fun to do roleplay wise as they read up on qualifications and then distribute where suited. Thoughts?

But what if the CCIA consents tho?

Ckey/BYOND Username: Zundy Position Being Applied For (coder, mapper, spriter): Deputy Lore Developer, Human and Corporate (under Pegasus) Past Experiences/Knowledge: - -I used to run a wiki on a NWN 2 Roleplaying server "Tales of Moonsea" though it ended up getting scrapped as it was taking up server space. -I've also been a DM on said server for over 6 years and was head DM for around 3 years. During that time I wrote the entire server backstory and story arc for the "Herald of Chaos" campaign which has been ongoing for around 5 years. (User Cryosphere). -I also run tabletop games every so often with my group, areas of expertise is WH40K, Dark Heresy, Pathfinder. D&D 3.5e and some Iron Kingdoms and some Warmachine. Usually I homebrew the modules. -I'm was a Quality and Compliance Manager in real life so I appreciate working to targets, time management and attention to detail. -I was the Human and Corporate Lore Developer on a popular SS13 Server called Aurora for over a year. Examples of Past Work: -Server side I try to organise events for players to get involved IG. -Lore wise, I was the Human and Corporate Lore Developer on a popular SS13 Server called Aurora for over a year. Preferred Mode of Communication (Skype, Steam, etc.): These forums, discord (Zundy). Additional Comments: My brand of lore is still evident on the wiki and across server however I'd like to clarify a few things in an open and honest way on the app: -I want to put peoples mind at rest that there won't be any conflict between Peg and I. We're both on the same wave length and though he did work under me in the past I'm more than comfortable working below him. As staff and most of you already know I'm a chill dude and not prone to emotional outbursts or conflict for the sake of conflict. -My server presence (playing the game) is extremely low as I'm looking for a house with my wife at the moment but I am planning on getting in game asap since it's rad and I want to play. I have said and still believe that to be a lore dev you need to play the game/observe the game often and I intend to do that. -I want to get back in the lore game because I miss it very much and there's still projects on hold and had my lil fingers in. I can post these up as lore apps (and I'd encourage everyone to do this if you have a cool lore idea) but I think Peg and I working together again can churn out quality lore much quicker. Thank you for your consideration and feel free to ask me anything.

Regardless of what happens IRL in 2019 USA it doesn't make sense in setting. Species discrimination regarding wages is fine tho imo.

After a pilgrimage back to Moghes to assist my colleagues in terraforming projects I have returned to Biesel and to my work station to discover what can only be described as an infestation by Aut'akh guwan heretics. As many know I've always championed the teachings of Sassan which demonstrate that it is possible for injured or deformed Unathi to utilise specially constructed and blessed augments. What I do not condone or indeed what I cannot in good conscience abide is the intentional maiming of the soul with unnecessary augmentations so one can commune with an AI and call it Sk'akh. Such is the existence of the Aut'akh. Heretics of the worse kind. I warn all noble Unathi to stay well clear of these damned souls as propriety demands. If you must come I to contact with an Aut'akh during your work day remember to be brief and to the point, keep eye contact as they are your inferior and where possible ignore their damned presence. If you are troubled that you may have become tainted by their presence do not worry as your faith protects you however if you are still concerned please do seek out your local Sk'akh Priest who will be able to help.
