Hey friends, recently folks have been accusing me on the down low of ignoring player feedback and I just want to assure you I don't do that at all so please, if you have any major or minor gripes with the human or corporate lore at the moment let me know and if so, what is it you dislike? Why? What you you like to see done? Don't worry if you can't really think of an solutions just let me know what's bothering you and I'll try to address it. Also remember that "because I personally just don't like it" is fine criticism as far as I'm concerned, perhaps the majority don't like it but were just afraid to voice it in the belief that nothing would get done. I don't guarantee I'll change lore wholesale but I promise I will seriously take on board anything brought up. Some ground rules to consider: -Don't flame each other. I trust you actually won't but just a reminder. -I won't be deleting anything unless it has no active links to current in game lore and has no players using it. A lot of times I get people asking for the removal of X "because literally everyone hates it" but I can view server stats and can see for myself that it isn't true. If it's been left in, it's because it's being used actively. I check server stats often. -No retcons for the same reasons as above BUT I will change things via story arcs. Retconning stuff which is in use alienates players and makes people lothe to digest lore due to it's perceived instability - why learn something that changes in a whim. -I'm aware of Dominia, the Tribunal, ATLAS and Yinglishen. The latter is being dealt with wholesale and the rest are in arcs.

From a lore stand point it ties into election arcs and the "I want to sell you products laced with addictive substances" attitude of monolithic mega corporations which is a staple of space fantasy and real life what with the chemicals, salts and sugers pumped into literally everything these days. That's the lore justifcation for the mechanics so to speak. The real reason is that we believe it'll stimulate potential roleplay in the form of trading the goods, making the goods, taking the goods and getting dunked on for taking the goods depending on player character traits and their interactions with other player characters. We did weight up the pros (poignant addiction and corporate dystopia/neutropia roleplay) and the cons (DUDE WEED, do_surgery_high.jpg) and we trust that though some minority players will make stupid characters, the majority will make well rounded and interesting character concepts as well as excellent observable roleplay. We're prepared to not only deal with trouble makers off the back of this but also canonically retract the in lore bill if it doesn't mesh or ushers in a wave of low roleplay characters and players. I believe it will be a great roleplay tool and so does the staff, but if not then not. November 8th, 2460 Riot Outside ATLAS HQ, 1 Dead And 87 Injured Violence erupted at ATLAS HQ grand opening. 1 dead and 87 wounded in riot. Violence broke out at the new head quarters of the xenophobic ATLAS group of Biesel. Originally an invitation only event the venue as well as the time and date of the event were leaked across the extranet last week leading to a flurry of activity from counter protestors seeking to disrupt the event. What started as a peaceful counter protest erupted into violence as more ATLAS members arrived to the scene uninvited sources say. A police cordon that was established around the perimeter of the venue by Biesel police units was overrun leading to direct physical altercations between ATLAS protestors and anti-ATLAS counter protestors. It's been reported that shots were fired amongst ATLAS members after Artemis Private Security personal began to open fire upon the crowd, leading to one Artemis member being shot in the back. During the riot that ensued, the ATLAS building accidentally caught fire, leading to a mass evacuation of the personnel within led by Milos Barany. Mr Barany told press that "[we] were going to have a party meeting, well within our rights." October 20th, 2460 ATLAS To Relocate Back To Mendell The human supremacist ATLAS party of Biesel seeks to relocate their HQ from their Commercial Liner PMV Diomedes in orbit down to District 1 aka the Zhèngfǔ District of Mendell City says a leaked statement. In light of recent growth within the Sol Alliance the human supremacist ATLAS party has issued a private statement to its members that there have been plans in the works to move its local HQ from its current location in orbit around Biesel on the Liner PMV Diomedes down to Mendell city within the Zhèngfǔ District.
