Why not just call bubble Alice? It'd be the easiest change since it involves a nickname change on a discord server and the other means changing lore and code, not to mention the hassle for players whose characters already utilise this lore (a fact oft forgotten when people do retcons/changes).

I'm ok with the idea of IPCs being able to learn more languages (not just sol common) barring languages that utilise body language like Sinta'Azaziba.

Trade Deal Settled Between NanoTrasen and Idris; New Banking Services Open After a period of heavy negotiation new banking and power distribution terms have been agreed sector wide within Tau Ceti. The trade deal long in the making unblocks NanoTrasen employees from accessing Idris Incorperated banking products and services in exchange for the NCV Ikon, the largest mobile power station in known space, having free rights to provide power distribution contracts across Tau Ceti. The deal will mean that citizens of Mendell will continue to access cheap energy services provided by NanoTrasen power generation, whilst NanoTrasen employees in Biesel will be allowed to utilise the Bank of Idris' superior banking services. "The agreement is an excellent compromise between our groups" Andrew Reynolds, NanoTrasen's Chief Relations Director told the press "cheap, relaiale power services can continue to be provided to the citizens of Biesel whilst our best and brightest in the NanoTrasen family can access Idris' premium services. A win win all round in my book." Addressing the Bugle in holovid conference Arthur Curring, Idris Chief Operations Officer, told reporters "We are happy to be able to provide our superior banking services to all citizens in Biesel. With this trade deal settled amicably we look forward to many more mutually agreeable deals in the near future. Together we'll reach astronomical figures." When questioned regarding the noted influx of Idris Reclamation Units into Tau Ceti following the deal, Mr Curring told press "the new Reclamation Units have been brought in to ensure we're providing the utmost service to our customers a stakeholders." NanoTrasen Employees should expect their work automated teller machines to be replaced with the much more ergonomic Idris Incorporated units.

On the whole Elyra is actually a pretty sweet place to live so it'd be extremely unlikely that a colony would rebel against them during the Lii'dra attacks. That being said, pirates would certainly take advantage of the situation and would likely prey on the outer Elyran colonies. If you have the back story as "local warlored rebelled and" it could easily just be tweeked to "pirates attacked and." If it messes with your established back story too much then I'd just leave it as rebellion/warlord as the republic is a big place and I'm sure one colony could easily have had a lil' rebellion. Hope that helps?

Change it to "The Big Gay" and be done with it tbh.

It doesn't matter if it's air tight or not. When the canister runs out you just can't breathe from it, it doesn't suddenly create a reversal in pressure and pop your lungs. When my deodorant runs dry it doesn't cause a vacuum to occur in my bathroom, rupturing my soft tissues until my wife can give me a plaster and a juice box. Just make it so you begin to breathe the surrounding atmosphere and if that is THE VOID then so be it lung popping gods. Ins'Void

MLO mobilizes from district 11, massive care effort outperforms authorities Almost two days after the beginning of the 'New Detroit' fire and the situation turns grim, with property damage steadily increasing as the fire department is unable to control the flames. Civil unrest has further increased as more and more citizens are forced out into the street due to the danger the flames present. The fire department has given a more conclusive report, stating that the fire is not the only danger that is present with trace amounts of phoron coming through the flames also posing a massive risk for rescue- and fire teams, with phoron contamination being a common place ordeal. This morning however another event transpired which suprised the district, the sudden arrival of the Mendell Labor Organization ( MLO ) with a suprising amount of volunteers and labourers and began taking over where the fire department failed, more specifically offering temporary shelter, clearing out rubble and aiding in fighting back the flames. Equipment and tools were also rapidly being delivered into the district, many questioning when these were aquired and/or manufactured. On the scene was Willam Abel, who introduced himself as the head of internal affairs for the MLO, while the meeting was cut short due to being occupied handling his staff he had the following to say. "The recent crisis in this fine area has not only motivated us to further increase our effort to provide job oppertunities for those who wish to not only improve their own life but also give back to the community, but also to increase awareness for our own organization. I am not going to lie that we've been rather inclusive for district eleven but this crisis, as many call it, has motivated us not only help one district that is in need of assistance, but every district that has been suffering of our neglectful government." His remarks were met with a fair amount of criticism however those critics were quickly drowned by supporters which flooded into the district. However many believe this is simply a ploy to privatize the industry even further and that the MLO is simply attempting to seize the Mendell market. However the relief effort can be seen by both sides, as the situation is slowly but steadily turning for the better. ((OOC: thanks to DaSmog for the article.))

Character Feedback: Nick Volvalaad
Zundy replied to TheOrleans's topic in Character and Concept Feedback
Will Nick have a romance arc? -
So in a nutshell is this creating a staging area where the "antags" spawn in to gear up to be whatever they want or will each "antag" still be the ones we currently vote for but have a new set up area?

Staff Complaint - Senpai Jackboot
Zundy replied to VTCobaltblood's topic in Staff Complaints Archive
I would be cautious in slamming creative decisions perceived to have been made by Jackboot as some weren't Jackboots. The map with divided UK was mine for example, as was bringing back Frost by and large. By slamming others work you're essentially saying you think Jackboot should've overuled those people whilst simultaneously complaining that he shouldn't be overruling people. What do you eight want to come of this complaint? Do you want Jackboot to be replaced? For my part Jackboot has only ever been flexible and polite. I have twisted his arm many a time and rarely if at all have we come to loggerheads on anything. The only thing I do think is an issue was the seemingly ham fisted approach to the deputies which seems to have been a knee jerk reaction to coalfs paste bin rant and other times (that I currently can't remember) where Jackboot seemed to have a knee jerk reaction which negatively impacted the community. Personally I'd like to see less knee jerk reactions from Jackboot and a stricter vetting process on new lore developers since they're perceived to be a joke amongst staff and for good reason, what with public tantrums and shitty behaviour. That's not aimed at anyone in particular, I just painting broad strokes. Don't hurt me. -
[Accepted] Idris Incorporated
Zundy replied to The lancer's topic in Lore Canonization Applications Archive
UNATCO? Looks good, Peg and I will give it a full read over soon but seems like a fine addition off the cuff. It'll be spliced with another addition which will see Idris as the largest power producer in the known galaxy. -
Not all alien character concepts are discriminated against. For example, all skrell are not. A Guwan is more discriminated against than a Moghes born. An Dominian edict breaker is more discriminated against than a Dominian Aristocrat. Why are people knowingly (since they passed their whitelist application/found the concepts on the wiki after reading through pages of lore) choosing character concepts they know full well suffer discrimination, since those concepts where designed that way for people who want to roleplay that out, and then saying things like "you value human playing players more than xeno playing players." Why are people even playing the concepts? A unathi isn't just a scale covered human, a Tajaran isn't just a human in a fur suit. They have roleplay expectations which the player knew about 100% before the chose those concepts. It's like buying a beef steak and complaining that it's beef and that you're a vegan and why should you a vegan be forced to eat meat and meat should be stripped from the menu when there was a whole vegan menu for you to choose from which you purposefully avoided. It's either that or people actually don't understand the lore of the species they're playing and at that point one questions why they were given a whitelist at all.
