I meant biologically 21 due to technology like long term cryostasis. YES that's the word I was looking for. Like, chronologically 31 or so, but frequent use of Cryo meaning their actual body is closer to 29? Something like that?

I'd assume with advancements in cloning and cryostasis and genetic modification you could biologically be 40, but be a lot older then that. Take RIM world for example. You can biologically be 21, but actually be 500 years old.

What's the wattage on that light bulb? 75W? 90W? 60W you say? Fired. INTERN SWARM INCOMING!

Upon reaching out to Joelle Kemble, they have agreed that at this time, the case has kind of corrected itself, and that it would appear that Doctor Richard Brooks has no longer been present on any stations in which the parties involved work on.

Butterrobber's Head Whitelist App

I've had some short interactions with Ssiruis Zuberi, if I recall you're one of the Unathi who insta grab the hardsuit. There's this one Unathi who the second the alert level is raised, seems to have already stepped into the hardsuit. If that isn't you my bad, but Unathi names are difficult for me. Other then the hardsuit issue, I have no real issues with your ability to RP so, +1 -
Agreed. Vending machines aren't fun to fix, just a nuisance.

My thoughts as well, I don't like players jumping right to emergency shuttle without trying other options. Although it can be argued that no ghosts are around but isn't that IC in OOC? Also Im EXTREMELY resistant to making admin judgments around things I "don't like". Very slippery slope, even if I can back it up. Part of the reason I made this thread. I agree that they could have tried calling an ERT. I think the biggest annoyance is though, you get called as an ERT, and suddenly... EMERGENCY SHUTTLE right as you arrive.
-
People should view it as, calling an Emergency Shuttle will cause your character to receive a pay cut, to discourage using it if it's not 100% necessary. Like if maintenance tunnels are locked down, and breached, why would you call a shuttle? If there's no security maybe a manhunt with one of the available heads would be a better way to proceed.

So I've decided I'd like to actually contribute to this here community, be warned my goal might never actually become a reality due to the spaghetti that is Genetics. That and this would be a side project for me between school, my two jobs, and my play time. Worst case scenario Skull doesn't like my vision and it never reaches a public server. So, Geneticists a very non-RP centric job, and tends to lead to someone turning a monkey into a telekinetic hulk, then self injecting themselves, and honestly I'd like to change this. First thing Im aiming to do is keep persistence between rounds on blocks, but have the blocks be different for each ckey. Next I'd like to remove the chance factor from it early on, and eventually flex it into the kinda job you can do solo, but you can accomplish a lot more if you work with other departments. Right now this is my early on vision... Each block represents a specific part of your genetic structure, hair color, skin color, your characters weight, health, speed (to a very miniscule amount), ability to cross species under certain circumstances (something I'd delve into a lot more once I get the groundwork done). Issue I've run into is ideas, and an understanding of what others might want. Overall I want to make this job about more then monkies, and the single scientist trying to learn the blocks, and make it more into testing aliens, learning their genetic differences, learning what you can accomplish through cross splicing, perhaps your dream of being a furry human could be accomplished.

Romanovium is a terrible name for a product mayn. The point he's trying to make is that it's an element name and wouldn't have a commercial name.

This may been kinda pointless, but it would be a pretty nice Quality of Life update that would make the game a little easier for some people. Currently, during emergency situations (Emergency shuttle, fire alarms, etc etc) the lights in the room annoyingly flash red. I was just looking to perhaps change that so that it's a SOLID red, as opposed to flashing. I can't speak for everyone, but the current flashing is a strain on my eyes, and makes me want to go hide in my department until last minute so I don't have to endure it.

Polaris' implementation is much more flexible, and interesting
-
What about in the situation that an antagonist is being hunted by security, they have absolutely no other means to defend themselves other then a group of 'friendly' slimes? What if they strategically placed a singular slime into maintenance to protect themselves, and if someone comes the slime jumps them, and quickly multiplies because that person decided to let it into the central hallway. I don't see an issue with using slimes as a means to create chaos when you're given no other choice... Say for example, a Malf AI that has it's core being assaulted by engineers, and security with an emitter, is it wrong for the Malf AI to start pumping phoron into the station through the vents so that when they turn on the emitter, they all find themselves burning up? I'd like to think not.
-
Yes, but it's pretty slow.
-
So we're looking to rename Phoron? I'm down for naming it after the comet honestly.
-
Yeah I can't say I've ever seen ghost thralls spawn Nar'Sie on Aurora, I've done it on Bay but it took a shit ton of work, because a lot of people don't exactly understand how the spawning system works, but it still works with a lot of coordination.
-
Polaris has it already implemented and from what I've seen, it's not that bad If we're pulling Polaris implementation I'm all for it.

You're implying every hostage situation is the same and that the conditions do not change between them. Here are the conditions that can be easily identified so we avoid further confusion. Imagine, if you will, we have a day one officer named Bob Hanson, no one really knows this guy and he otherwise has a fairly clean record. Bob has to respond to a hostage situation. He arrives, a gun is pointed to a hostage's head. Bob tries to rescue the hostage, getting stupidly close to the hostage taker. Hostage ends up getting grievously wounded and/or killed, Bob ends up shooting down the hostage taker and the day ends. Most likely, the player of the hostage taker is gonna ahelp this. An admin/mod will likely speak to the player of Bob and explain what's what, give them a note/warning or whatever and ask them to restrain themselves from then on. Now we have a second scenario regarding another officer. We will call this officer Slizard Yokel. This is where it changes a bit, Slizard Yokel is a vet officer whose player is a regular and has been around and about on the server and their character is popular, and the player has significant standing in regards to the server. So we would assume, OOCly, that Yokel would know more about security and how it operates and how they are supposed to operate, and given their time on the server, they should know how to respect RP conventions. However, it should also be noted that the character has stacked up a nasty rep of being a giant loose cannon and its player is hardly all that sorry for it. So, Yokel responds to a hostage situation. What does he do? He tries to rush the hostage taker who is in a much comfier position, initially, and expects the officer to try and comply to demands. The hostage taker shoots the hostage into crit, and then brawls with said Yokel officer while the hostage is bleeding on the floor, dying. Yokel shoots down the hostage taker. So, question, should we pretend the second instance is just as ignorant and unaware of the rules as the first party is? Or are we going to pretend all hostage situations play out the same and that there is nothing distinguishable or notable here? Better yet: Will we learn to recognize patterns and actual non-ironic problematic behavior? Full disclosure. I'm not taking a side. I get where you're coming from but let me ask this. What do you want to happen to Alberyk? I mean if you want him banned, or given a warning say so. But Skull has even said that Alberyk is currently on thin ice, and his actions are being moderated, and has been spoken to about his conductwhich is in fact a warning.

Well i don't agree with that reasoning. Aurora's heavy RP atmosphere seems to tend more towards "what would be realistic in this situation", rather than what would be fun or balanced. The brig isn't supposed to be easy,or even possible, to break out of, that's kind of the point of it You never experienced the old map the brig was much better.
