Zhilin's Siik'maas-Tau Ceti Basic dictionary
Chada1 replied to Fire and Glory's topic in Completed Items
I really Really like the idea of this custom item. I think the entire concept is very realistic and I don't see how it could possibly impact RP in a negative way, I want to see a Shaft Miner flipping through a dictionary. As for the notes. You only have to be able to speak and i'll assume understand spoken Basic without translation software, it doesn't say you need to be able to read it or write it fluently, you can assume for specific jobs you would absolutely have to, but all a Miner would need to write is a 'Mineral Manifest' or whatever it's called, right? All that takes is signing your name and numbers, So I don't see why not. -
[Accepted]Chada1's Skrell Application
Chada1 replied to Chada1's topic in Whitelist Applications Archives
Thank you! I wasn't serious about the 'Rate your own roleplay' section, but you can assume the same rules apply there as in the other areas, so it made a good joke. I'm, frankly, better at responding to negative feedback than positive feedback, so I'll say thank you (Thank you) and hope that's enough, I definitely didn't expect that much praise... "Alert. Unit 486 is an Android Unit. It is incapable of recognising implied meanings. Caution advised." Thank you, I was worried Orbul would seem... bare, and his life would feel entirely forced and arbitrary, i'm glad there's someone who thinks otherwise, because while it looked good in terms of what it was, I was having a very bad case of writer-fright when it came down to it. (That is, I was being overly critical of my own writing, very overly critical, you can get a hint of that in the note section.) -
BYOND Key: Chada1 Character Names: NT-A 486 (Station-bound Android), To Journey Past the Known (Janitor/Cargo Tech), Warmth of a Candlelight (Chaplain/Lab Assistant). In order of most played. Also my signature, but I only really play these. Species you are applying to play: Skrell. What color do you plan on making your first alien character (Dionaea & IPCs exempt): Don't know the color schemes, but probably blue or white. Have you read our lore section's page on this species?: Yes. Up and down, at least three times. Please provide well articulated answers to the following questions in a paragraph format. One paragraph minimum per question Why do you wish to play this specific race: While a Skrell is not the same as a Synthetic, they are highly logical in action. I've had tons of experience with that style of character, through my Android (The Cyborg alt-title), NT-A 486, which never does anything on a whim. I enjoy that type of character, I enjoy it a lot. However, a problem with NT-A, which wouldn't be a problem with Skrell, is that Skrell wouldn't be bound by a Lawset, and thus could retain a lot more depth with logic on a round-by-round basis with none of the Roboticness. As for why I want to play this specific species past basic characterisation? As someone who's played as an Android almost exclusively, and will continue to play a ton of the Cyborg job, also playing a race that is almost purely Anti-Synth is very ironic, and I want to do it. I can see myself only really playing a single Skrell, at the moment, but I want to try to Really bring them to life. Plus, when I began writing this Application I didn't know a whole lot about Skrell, now that I know a lot, I really like them. Identify what makes role-playing this species different than role-playing a Human: The differences between Humanity and Skrell are actually massive, Humans are alot more diverse, and a lot more prone to internal struggles and conflict. However, I understand that the Skrell also aren't exactly a single archetype or stereotype, despite what people say, and despite the fact that i'm applying for a Scientist. (A Stereotype.) Roleplaying a Skrell is very different, you could be expected (I will hold myself to this, but frankly, I don't believe you are expected to do so.) to justify and have defined reasoning for most everything you do. For instance, a Human may say something they don't mean when angry, while a Skrell could, they aren't likely to do so, they'd be more likely avoid speaking to that person, until they stopped being angry. Both to save face, and to avoid 'being wrong'. On that note, Skrell are noted to have issues displaying emotion to other Species on the same level of their own, I think I can portray that through awkwardness, stares, and much more emotionally open speech in Nral'Malic than in Basic. Pretty much, I understand that to play a Skrell, you may have to RP introversion in Basic and extroversion in Nral'Malic. I'm okay with this, and will try to incorporate it actively. To expand further on Biology, I don't believe there's that much Biology unique to the Skrell that will come up in gameplay and roleplay, I mean they're massively different from Humans, it just doesn't come up. The subject of this question is the difference of roleplay between the two species, and I just don't see most of it coming up outside of conversation. But two solid aspects I know you would be expected to roleplay and would come up are the lack of teeth and potential discomfort with non-Skrell Headwear. For teeth, that is, instead of having teeth, Skrell have hardened gums. They'd naturally avoid food that could be hard, and since Human culture is filled with food like this, as well as Xeno-culture (Taj, Unathi) you can imagine life on a Human station would be a cautious one when it came to food. Not to mention the weakness to Animal protein which would only reinforce this. The Headwear is simple enough, to RP discomfort you just avoid Headwear that would be restricting and acknowledge it as restricting when you have to wear it, of course with considerations to your character, as well. Character Name: Orbul Qablri'Tri-Qyu (Pronounced: Orbyule Qwahblureetryque) Please provide a short backstory for this character, approximately 2 paragraphs (Note, if you want a more concise and less traditional backstory, refer to the Spoiler under the wall below.) "Orbul Qablri was born in the year 2334 on a Jargon frontier world, alongside six other eggs, two of which survived the Genophage, the others being only further casualties of Glorsh-Omega. He was fostered by an Engineer and a Biologist, alongside a brother. They lived a relatively average childhood, going through basic Schooling in their small colony, however, eventually it would be time for the two to pursue a higher education. It was more than a little pressured, what with the GENOPHAGE and all of that. Both of them were forced to move to the inner-planets, specifically Jargon IV itself, to join a relevant institution for their desired Career paths. While Orbul would gravitate towards a Career in Archaeology and Biology, his brother would gravitate towards a more Technical education, eventually ending up as a competent Engineer, working in multiple projects. Orbul, with multiple colleagues, ended up in an interesting few projects as well, mostly in the domain of Archaeology. He would work closely with his fellows for many years, to catalogue and recover information from some of the many ruined cities that were lost to Glorsh-Omega. During this time, he began to grow an interest in one of the few similar losses that couldn't be catalogued and preserved. The colony and system of Tri-Qyu, itself. Orbuls interest in Tri-Qyu quickly turned into an irrational obsession. One that arguably consumed his life, for many many years. This is when he made the addition of 'Tri-Qyu' to his name. He tried fruitlessly to catalogue a similar amount of information regarding the lost colony, but there was just very little to be found. The entire colony and system had been destroyed. When the obsession faded, at the end of a twenty year timespan, his colleagues had already moved on from the project, their opinions of Orbul had been changed drastically, formerly a very practical and realistic researcher, he had spent too many years grasping at straws. Orbul, having moved on from his obsession, and no longer being a part of this Scientific project, returned to his previous institute, and pursued further education in Xeno-Archaeology, to complement Archaeology. After obtaining it, considering the ostracization by his colleagues, he sought out work elsewhere. Particularly, with Humanity, and away from those who had ostracized him. It's not that he disliked his own Species, the complete opposite is true, just that he had to distance himself from his old obsession, and that he was genuinely interested in Humanity and other Species. The ostracization did not help, however. He would link up with multiple Archaeological groups during the initial period of moving from Skrell space to Human space, but the destination is wholly the same, he ends up seeking work with NanoTrasen. He is especially obsessive about his current wild goose-chase for some obscure, theoretical Artifact." The backstory, dated by the many, many years of this specific Skrells life, is below. As a distraction from the OVERLY work-related backstory (Yes, I realised.) here are some frankly hilarious Skrell traits that i'll almost certainly be incorporating into my character/characters. 1: Clever puns will have Orbul in stitches, due to the HUGE similarity to Skrell Infotainment. 2: He will speak overly to the point when speaking Basic/non-Skrell languages, almost comedically so. IE: "Greetings, writing my report. Haven't met many. Need any help?" However, he'll speak perfectly fine and even with very clear emotion when speaking Nral'Malic. IE: "Greetings, I was just about to finish my report, I haven't had an oportunity to meet many people around my work-place, do you need any help?" To the point that you would almost think they were separate people, despite having the same exact views. Introverted in non-Skrell, Extroverted in Skrell. 3: He is genuinely acceptive and appreciative of Dionae, going so far as to help them almost on a whim. 4: While he doesn't outright hate Synthetics, he does view them as a serious threat. He recognises through studies of history, that most Synthetics were 'friendly' and 'non-violent' until they were made to be otherwise, so he will be horrified of being around Synthetics consistently, even if he doesn't strictly 'hate' them. This is especially true in any round with a troublesome AI, as Glorsh was said to hack into Synthetics and replace their being with his, turning a friendly and safe Synthetic into a violent and dangerous one. (This is no excuse to valid and I won't use it as one. It's just a consistent fear I intend to play-up.) 5: He is a fan of art, further, he's a fan of culture. He's an Archaeologist first and a Biologist second, he wouldn't be likely to enjoy this profession much without liking culture. On that note, he would probably be studying Culture and the Anomalous properties of Tau Ceti while employed, though that's hardly his specialty. What do you like about this character?: I like that he's obsessive. I like that he's genuinely eccentric. I like that through obsession, and despite his logic, he's also very irrational at times, even with his serious outlook on work. It makes him seem more 'Alive' to me. I like the fact that he's passionate about his work, something neither of my other characters are. My Android goes so far as to view their work as their reason for being and thus does it for mechanical "purpose", and not for any sort of appreciation of it. My Dionae places no value on their work (Literally shirking all responsibility in most cases, and helping people instead of working, hence Journeys low-level employment.) and is just trying to be helpful and find a place in Society. Neither of these are the same as Orbul, who is legitimately interested, fascinated and undeniably obsessed with his overarching goal. (Be it an unobtainable one or not) The funny Skrell character traits are great, too. I like that his easy obsession is a negative trait, one that has had negative impacts on his life, even. Other than that, I like that he, like most Skrell, has a logical mindset that is comparable to my Android. How would you rate your role-playing ability?: Once I made a Dionae Application, I believe a year ago? I'm keeping the same comment I said there. I would consider it full of myself to rate my ability. (Please do not deny me over not putting a paragraph here. D:) Notes: If you want to see the character, +1. Also, I would like feedback if you have any, and not just on my application, on my other characters, as well. As for Orbul... I know some of the stuff i've done in the background is a stretch, but ... I didn't want to be overly vague ... like in my last app (Which I was told was distastefully vague) so I just, kinda went big in comparison... I know i'm also not a very creative writer, I tend to detail things better over time, that said, I tried to put a lot of detail into this, and really like the direction it went, honestly. On that note, i'm not entirely sure if Skrell have last names, some noteable Skrell (IE: The Grand Councilor of Jargon) have a secondary name, so it lead me to believe they do. Confirmation on that would be nice, I might have to change Orbuls name if they don't.

I can pretty much confirm that I 'vet' ideas on the Discord, but that's not a good place for indepth debate/conversation, it's more a place for 'Quick' debate/conversation. Since a post you do one day on Discord is buried the next. Forums are still needed on that point, even if activity dies a bit.

[Accepted] XenosTiger IPC whitelist application.
Chada1 replied to XenosTiger's topic in Whitelist Applications Archives
To be fair, this isn't a fair point, NT-A 486 is one of the most Robotic Androids on the server and they'll correct people on this, it's just in a legitimate fact'y way and not a sassy one. It's because they Aren't the Same Thing. It's like calling a duck a chicken. It's just not true. You're completely in your right to get it wrong, but you're talking to a Robotic entity, they won't always understand what you mean if you don't speak in a logical and clear manner. If you yell for 486 by Robot, it'll understand. But if you yell for 486 by Cyborg, it won't think you're speaking to it, because they're just Not the Same Thing. It will sincerely just believe you're calling for a Cyborg, and the only way it'll deduce otherwise is if you correct yourself or it's confirmed there're no Cyborgs active on the Exodus, and in any case it'll correct you, because it just Can't Understand Implied Meanings, so you fucked up by yelling for it as something it's not. You can do this specific aspect of your criticism in a Robotic and realistic manner, so in the context of your post it doesn't really fit, can't really comment on the rest, but I could on that. There's seriously no reason people shouldn't be careful with what they call Station-bounds. You're speaking to a Robot, be clear or don't be surprised when it does what you ask it to do, wrong. -
Just give authentication to every head, Surrealistik, if the idea is used. Because what do you do when there's no HoS on Station but there is a single RD? You do nothing. There's a subverted AI and one of the only people who is actually EDUCATED on how AIs function is now unable to do ANYTHING about it. There's no logical, non-OOC reason to deny the RD access to the AI, if the RD is an Antagonist, they're meant to be hard to deal with, and there are already OOC rules to keep them from doing anything too bad. To be honest I could see a Head of Security deciding to destroy the AI on every subversion if they were considered the sole authority on it, and that's bullshit. (Even if that might constitute an OOC problem as opposed to IC in most cases) At the moment, every Head of Staff has authority over the AI, it only takes 2 Heads and Captain-level approval to enter the Upload at most. And Captain-level approval can be obtained by majority staff Approval, at the moment the Head of Security is relevant without being the de-facto authority over the AI, and the RD/CE aren't de-facto over it either, only educated on how it functions.
-
Surrealistik, there are Station Directives. Specifically, Directive 7. Regarding AI upload access - Station Directive 7 . The Head of Security has no power over the AI Upload. All Heads are equal in their authority over the Station as a whole, just with different duties and delegations. There's no reason the Head of Security should have more say on the AI than the Chief Engineer and the Research Director, especially considering the Research Director is theoretically trained in AI Theory, and in the absence of a Research Director, the Head of Security, in optimal circumstances, is supposed to bring a Roboticist, even if it's not forced or anything, because he's on equal footing.

[blurb that refers to a quote that has been twisted out of context] If you quote me, please quote me completely, correctly and do not twist the quote out of context. If you would have quoted me completely you would have noticed that I am opposed to the moving, because the motors required to drive a borg require substantially more energy than a emergency radio. Welp, you entirely missed the point of what I said... I explained why the 'Emergency' power doesn't upkeep radio... and then AGREED with you on the Motor... the reason I lessened the quote was because the only bit that I was actually explaining was what I quoted, where I specifically said there Was an Emergency power source, since you implied there wasn't. You just twisted my supposedly 'twisted' quote out of context with your own quote. So I guess supposed twist-ception and i'm done.
-
'Borgs are confirmed to have an emergency power source. It even says it when you examine them while disabled. "It's running off of backup power!" Most real-world Science in relation to 'borgs and SS13 items isn't feasible, that's a given. It's gameplay over realism, and SS13 is Science Fantasy not Science Fiction. The emergency power source is setup to last, that means it only upkeeps what's absolutely necessary to be found over an extended period, it makes complete sense IMO. You have to remember these are machines created to not only last during a shift on backup power, but also potentially last in the VACUUM OF SPACE until they're located by their owners in the event of traction malfunctions. That can take a while, dude, more than two hours. These are the reasons emergency power doesn't upkeep radio and other non-essential items, but does upkeep something that literally take near zero power, AIPM. The flashlight toggles and instantly disables due to a lack of power, meaning it's only getting a slight influx of energy and it's depleted instantly on enabling it. A beacon is practical both in realistic terms and practical terms and would probably have a similar power usage as AIPM (Near nothing)

Delete Combat Module; Give Security Module Red Alert Unlockable Items
Chada1 replied to Surrealistik's topic in Archive
As much as I would like to use the Stunbaton, taser, and cuffs, with the suite of lethal weapons, instead of being forced to Kill Everything, this feels kinda forceful and too powerful/convenient for 'borgs. That said, some people avoid Combat (Literally just me) because it's nothing less than a valid-happy Module, try RPing as it, I dare you. The only RP you can do is shooting someone dead. As for avoiding it, there are IC means, for instance, I can do that just by citing that my Positronic Brain is incredibly old and only compatible with an older NanoTrasen chassis, (Of which, the Chassis or Sprite isn't available for Combat) as reason for why I can't. Which, i'll say, isn't necessarily breaking your laws, since you're still serving and protecting to the best of your CHARACTERS ability. It's not an OOC thing. It's an IC thing. So please recognise the border between the laws (IC) and OOC. You can't expect a Robot with very limited ability to self-think to 'Serve' and 'Protect' in the same way or effectivity as a self-thinking and self-aware Android or Cyborg. I went off on a tangent, but Surrealistik, this is my feeling, but i'm mostly just talking about the IC/OOC/Laws thing with Sonicgotnuked over this as opposed to you. Nothing you said is relevant to that part. But those are my opinions on it up to that point. EDIT: RIP, I misread. Seriously RIP, Sonic you were talking about resets OFF OF Combat, not onto. DAMN IT! My explanation of IC vs OOC when it comes to laws is true, but ENTIRELY Irrelevant now! WOOPS! -
Yes! I remember it like it was yesterday. Would watch a Roboticist cluelessly get lobotomised and the CMO soon after again. What a horrifying situation. "What the fuck did you just do!? What did you do to the Roboticist!?" - Burned into my memory. I can only imagine you saw the vitals on the monitor. Jeez.
-
I personally love this, because you could link up with characters your character knows immediately, have a chat with them, and move to your workplace, instead of not seeing them for 1 hour until they literally came and found you, or vice versa. Not entirely certain of how it would look ingame, but the image I got in my head was good... It might be terrible on the current Exodus map, just because of how small the Arrival shuttle actually is. That would potentially be 50 people split between Arrivals and the Dorms.
-
This is a good idea on paper, until you consider how much it would be abused. Cyborgs couldn't be Antags anymore with this change, they'd immediately be locked down without any chance of preventing it, before they could do Anything. It's fixing one problem and causing another. The first half works, but would still be abused. Why not just give Roboticists a 'Robot Tracking' computer that also tracks 'borgs? Roboticists are the only ones who would have reason to know their locations. I think the main issue with this problem as a whole, is most people aren't recognising that they have AIPM while disabled... The only thing stopping you from using it are your laws, Messaging Servers, or EMP potentially if that is what disabled you.
-
It does make sense, imagine if you got your gloves covered in something? You'd have to rush to the Medical break room or bathroom to clean it off. Note: This doesn't happen mechanically, but realistically, it could happen a lot. But! I'd hope to see it on the new map as opposed to the Exodus.
-
I agree with the idea of differentiating, I just really don't want the Module to be made entirely obsolete. I've been told in the past that it's less about blocking you from the actions entirely, and more about just forcing you to do it less optimally or intricately, so that you CAN do the task, but not as well as a proper Crewmember. It is a potential issue, but as pointed out, you can find someone to put the person into the DNA Modifier, and take it from there. AIs/Station-bounds are expected to be able to use most machinery as far as I know, without any issue. The thing that makes a good 'borg is working around these technical limitations to serve your laws, Cyborgs aren't supposed to be able to do everything a Crewmember can do in the same way, maybe they'll have to do repeated injection, or maybe they'll have to get innovative, the way my 'borg does it, it just goes and gets an iron vitamin supplement (Pill, not injection) to naturally raise the Crewmembers red blood cell count. I had similar concerns when I started playing 'borg from a regular Crewmember, but you're given a very versatile set of items in your Module, you may not be able to do all things in the same way as actual Crew in your department, but you're given full access, a suite of equipment to use, and a multitude of technical limitations to overcome, but that's part of the experience, you're a Robotic entity, even more Robotic than IPCs. It's part of the experience, and that's part of why I love the role. I'm sorry, but as a 'borg player, I really don't want a 'borg to be able to do Everything that a Crewmember can do, a general jist? Yes, but it's part of roleplaying such a Robotic entity, and i'd hate to see it gone.
-
#1: Medical 'borgs aren't meant to be retrieving people (Doesn't mean they can't) via Rollerbeds, that's what Rescue (And it can unbuckle Rollerbeds) is for. Know your Module and this isn't an issue. Go Rescue if you want to be playing the Rescuer and not the treater. However, you can place people into the medical Scanner and Cryopods to unbuckle them. #2: 'borgs aren't meant to be Cloning by themselves, they're meant to need help in some tasks, and they definitely aren't meant to do everything in their department with no help. #3: They can pick up pills, but not pill bottles. There's a reason for this, it's for selective feeding of pills, and to stop Chemists from being completely obsolete. Drag, place in a crate, or something else. #4: 'borgs CAN manipulate IV drips, the thing is, they can't put Bloodbags on them. It's another case of #2, they aren't meant to be doing this by themselves flawlessly, they need help. You're not meant to run the Station by yourself as a Station-bound, you have your own duties and are actually just meant to assist and fill in the gaps of Crew, while also following the Directives given by Crewmembers and the AI. I'm saying this as a pretty much exclusive 'borg player, adding these things to the main Medical Module would make Rescue entirely obsolete, which isn't cool.

[Accepted] XenosTiger IPC whitelist application.
Chada1 replied to XenosTiger's topic in Whitelist Applications Archives
I've had lots of good experiences with Epsilon, I can't say i've seen any of the other characters, but i've never seen bad play or any salt, or really anything negative from XenosTiger. I always like their character, Epsilons, interactions with my Android, NT-A 486, they're like opposites, one focused and developed towards the personable, emulated side, the other more focused on the technical, practical side. It's... kind of painful, but in a good way? Painful in a very believable way. Anyway, I might edit with some criticism, but I probably won't. This is a very no-brainer application from my point of view. +1 -
I think the only times Heads of Staff should be able to override the Captain are by mutiny, CC orders, instability (Diagnosed by a Psychiatrist, CMO, or through cloning) or outright insubordination, the Captain should have full access to the Station, full access to finance, but he shouldn't mess with these areas or the relevant departments unless he has qualifications to do so, only directing them in the lack of a proper head. He should be able to hire an Assistant, but they should remain an Assistant and have no formal power over the Station, only a messenger, at best carrying his word. I would say his direct jurisdiction is over the Heads of Staff themselves, and not the departments. He should be there to make sure they're doing their job, and direct them in doing their job, as opposed to directing the departments, and only guide departments in the absence of a head. But I would say he would have full jurisdiction over the bridge and his office. As for what he can wear, well. So long as the Captain is wearing something respectable, and wearing identification, I don't see why he'd be locked into any specific clothing. The Captain should also act as a higher power that people can appeal to, in absence of an IAA, when their Head of Staff is inhibiting their work. I'm not the one who's going to go into qualifications, though. Those would have to be extreme and detailed.

Not Once have I said a feature should be removed, I only said the role of the Light Replacer could work better if it were reduced in capacity or limited in some way. At the moment, there's literally no reason to call a Custodial 'borg or even a Janitor for Light Repair when an Engineering 'borg is on the Station because It can literally do everything in both jobs except mopping, which is arguably a bad thing no matter how you look at it. This is easily fixed by making the adjustment that it CAN do it, but at a lesser ability, which is the case for the 'Trash' disposal. It can't decompile everything, only actual garbage, so you leave a lot of left-over food items around. I believe the correct terminology is fine-tuning for balance.
-
I just tested it moments ago. It's on the current code. That's not really true, while it might be meant to be used that way, it is often used for replacing any damaged light. I think it would do with being reduced in capability, but still there. That's why I didn't want it to be equivalent or better than a Maint. Drone or Custodials variant. 'borg balance is fickle, you don't want to make one Module able to out-do another in its' own purpose so heavily. Also, the Construction Module exists, as well, and is specifically designed for making additions and mass repairs to the Station. I'm not so sure that the Light Replacer was given to Engineering specifically for newly constructed lights. You can't really fault an Engineering 'borg for replacing damaged lights, but you can reduce the ability to do so by some, to give Maint. Drones, Custodials, and MAYBE Construction? some leverage.
-
Feel like I should get back to this. I tested some things, I don't know if it's a brand new addition or has been there since the Stone age, but you can insert regular (Non-reinforced) Glass sheets into the Engineering 'borgs Light Replacer, so my fear has already been realised, and your feature incorporated. Maint. Drones should be able to do it as well, assuming they have regular Glass sheets and a Light Replacer, but I haven't tested it. This probably leaves Custodials nowhere, but I haven't checked if they have anything new.
-
I'd be perfectly okay with this if it were limited to the Custodial 'borg, but Engineering 'borgs recently got a Light Replacer as well, and I don't want Engineering to do Custodials job bar mopping. That's my only fear with this change. At the minute, they can decompile trash, and Light replace to a lesser level. If you were to make their lights this affordable, it would NOT be to a lesser level. (Not that I want the Light Replacer removed from Engineering)

Make cameras glow when in use from security monitor or AI
Chada1 replied to JKJudgeX's topic in Discontinued Projects
I Really like this idea. I envision it working ingame like this. Each time the AI Eye moves to another APC-area, all relevant cameras glow. It would give a lot of counterplay to AI, the only issue being with this change, everyone will notice the AI, and so if everyone just drops what they're doing until it goes away, the AI can never actually learn anything. The idea of the AI was supposed to be a benevolent Observer that helps from the shadows. This wouldn't change its' purpose, and it does make sense that the cameras would stop the Rhythmic motion for a moment to fixate on where the AI Eye currently is, and thus it would be noticeable. Maybe less of a glow, and more of a lack of movement? cameras can already be disabled in a specific position, so maybe make them follow the AI Eye when in range? IDK. That would make more sense, be less noticeable but fair, and be more visually appealing. -
This is an oversight which was already squashed once. It should be reported and squashed again. Also, while borgs may already have cameras, think of it this way. There's nominally 2 borgs per round, distributed to departments other than security a large majority of the time. The chances of them running into hostiles are not amazingly high. Sec, on the other hand, is a set of about 5 dudes. Whose purpose is to be in the shit and handle antags. So yeh. Comparison does not sound fair. Well, the 'Heister' suit thing did make sense, but if that's just an oversight, my argument is completely null. But still, it isn't far-fetched that high-risk EVA gear would have Cameras embedded. It would be less about Privacy/watching the Officer and more about just watching and locating the Equipment. I remember the Heisters Camera thing from ages ago, it might be fixed, now... I haven't seen it in a long time, haven't been in a Heist round for a long time. So I guess i'm out of this argument, my suggestion is just about null. LOL. Also tbh Skull I run into Antags (Maybe not Hostiles, persay) as a 'borg just about every round, and I don't even try to. <= That doesn't allude to a difference in what you said, just a personal observation, and should honestly be ignored.
-
You do any character? I have a request, I would want you to do Unit 486 (NT-A 486 on the server) and i'm actually a fan of simple and silly art styles, so, if you do Synths/Robits i'll take one. LOL. Description is in my signature. Optimally I would use the Engineering orange for plate coloring, but tbh you can use whatever you want. <= Reference picture.
