+1 Critter RP is really good, and I'd like to see more small mobs scuttling around underfoot and being either cute or pesty. The fact that all critters on the station and asteroid are essentially mindless is kinda sad. Plus if these minor mobs try to start shit you can basically crush their skulls onehanded so little window of shittery there IMO. (Only slightly related but when are Lizards getting the stuff that Mice have such as being able to put on shoulder and head? Lizard pets should be more popular.)

Cool concept, I like it. It's got good roots and I'm interested to see where it goes. If I had one request it would be to see a stronger Transhumanist flavor; there's some tasty notes here but it would be interesting to take it further. Augs? Gene-splicing? Straight up surgical cybernetic mutilation a la Cyberpunk? Also: elf ears when? I always love to see new work come from the team and this has a lot of promise! Adding more species and variety to play with is very much not bloat and I look forward to seeing this develop. I might actually play humans when this hits. I strongly favor characters that come with a challenge so playing a 7ft twig who needs a piece of adaptive equipment to live is very interesting indeed.

You are within your rights to not accept an apology and doubt its veracity. All I can do is say that I blocked you because I didn't want to say anything further to you to make you feel bad, as I can't seem to help myself from responding when I see you posting inflammatory or goading comments in general chat. I mean my apology and I'm doing my best to leave you the hell alone. If you want to hang on to the fact that I said something I regret, fine, but please do not outright say I'm lying about being sincere. I 100% do feel bad about saying that to you. I still am sorry, and I will continue to be sorry, even after you stop being mad, because it was a shitty thing for me to say to anyone. I don't feel bad because people said "WTF LMAO". I feel bad because it's a horrible thing to say, and I felt bad the instant I said it. Trust me; if it was something I wanted to double down on, I would have, whether people "WTF"ed me or not. Instead it was something I wanted to take back, and I have tried to. This isn't a failure of administration to deal with, in my opinion here. It's an interpersonal difficulty issue. Shame slapped me right in the mouth for saying that kind of thing. Why do you want to pretend that didn't happen? I'm going to see myself out of this issue as there is little else left to discuss with regard to my apologizing to Burger. I'd like for it to be known in the future if this issue is discussed again, however, that I have apologized and I am pretty fuckin' sincere about it.

The new pen sprites have white/grey space that blends into tables and looks really confusing. And the new paper bin is a little bit... over-full I'd say? Otherwise it's some real good work champ.

In the interest of clearing the air, you guys are talking *about* me without talking *to* me which is something I resent. Here we see me immediately apologizing for the words which were said. I tried to make it clear publicly, both by editing out what I said and by apologizing, that I did not mean to get weirdly personal, and that I regret what I had said, and in fact regretted saying it immediately after hitting enter. I even tried to apologize via DM to Burger. This is what was said between Shame and I on the subject. I am not proud of what I said. I regret it, and I regretted it instantly. It is not something I would typically say. I would like to publicly apologize since the issue is still being discussed as though I hadn't already done so. Burger, I am sorry for saying that to you. I lashed out in a moment of anger and said something you didn't deserve to hear. It was way, way out of line and I'm going to make sure that I watch my tongue from now on. It's not something I plan to say again, to you or to anybody. Do not blame Skull for "not handling" this issue. I tried to apologize to you immediately. I understand that you don't want to accept it, but it is not Skull's fault here.

[Accepted] Lent23 Unathi Application
zyymurgy replied to Lent23's topic in Whitelist Applications Archives
I see my lad has linked the doc we've worked on, so this is something to observe with regard to the 'blue heir' question. (It may also be worth mentioning that the extended document is going to be worked on further for a Lore Canonization App as well.) -
[Accepted] Lent23 Unathi Application
zyymurgy replied to Lent23's topic in Whitelist Applications Archives
I've been working with Lent on the concept for this Clan and have been greatly enjoying what he's brought to the table. He's got some good ideas and is on board with most of the things which make Unathi different from other species. I've already got plans to play as one of this character's servants. The thing about Blue Heirs is that within this Clan it's prophesied that the True Blood of Kings is expressed by blue scales, since Kresshi Kres'ha'nor's First Concubine was a blue lady and passed this down to the Bloodlines of her three sons. (Bloodlines are a bit of a big deal for this clan.) I also think it's perfectly reasonable to, when you have many heirs, use the "extra" ones as political tools. So sending one of your sons to Tau Ceti to make a name for himself among the aliens seems reasonable enough to me... since it's not "exile" even though the character may perceive it that way. So needless to say this has my heavy plus one. -
Earpieces, intercoms and station bouncers have noise when used
zyymurgy replied to AmoryBlaine's topic in Archive
If it does make a noise, please for the love of god balance it correctly. So many of the noises in ss13 are FUCKING THUNDEROUS AND DEAFENING for no reason. -
I can see this leading to some truly hilarious moments. +1 to hitting grenades back at the thrower.

+1. No reason not to have this. @wowzewow Make a sprite and we'll harass Paradox or somebody to put it in game?

Last round I played, I got hit with a super special trauma that literally could not be cured, and removed me from the round with no ability to fix it no matter what the player helping me tried. I ahelped and the answer was "this sounds like a game mechanic, so I'm not healing you". So I'm bumping this with another, "please fix this". They had to kill me and clone me to remove it. It may have been a side effect of being enslaved by a Wizard, I don't know. Apparently I had 41 traumas. I am begging you. I will pay money. Revert this. There is no reason for traumas to be THIS severe.

[Accepted]veradox command whitelist
zyymurgy replied to veradox's topic in Whitelist Applications Archives
Every time I see Ramos, he's doing his job, or at least not screwing off so egregiously that it's noticeable. That alone is some pretty strong endorsement. +1 Very good, believable and competent character. -
I'd heard people complaining that cloning had been rendered essentially obsolete, mainly by @Rosetango and I wanted to look into this myself before complaining. My past round I asked to be cloned after dying. I soon realized my mistake. It is not fun to lie around for a literal hour while the medbay tries to desperately figure out wtf is wrong with you, passing in and out of consciousness, seeing them in LOOC go "okay I'm going to try this. no? okay I'm going to try this. no? i have one last thing I could do. I have no idea what's wrong with you. This guide is useless. I don't know how to help you." And then to be operated on, and for them to still have no clue what's wrong. I would have ghosted out and let my corpse stay dead if I had known that cloning had been, essentially, made so impossible to accomplish that it's essentially been removed from the game as either a viable mechanic or something that anyone in their right mind would want to roleplay. I had thought "maybe people are being dramatic" but no -- I realized quickly that it's just as bad as people are saying. Multiple people have said that cloning is so inconvenient and un-fun that they just avoid it, and it seems like the essential position in medical now is "just don't clone". If you want to remove a mechanic from the game, remove it. Please don't just nerf it to the point where nobody wants to deal with it. So my request is either: 1) Revert cloning back to its normal state 2) Remove cloning completely 3) Adjust "traumas" so that they don't essentially remove someone from a round, rendering being cloned pointless

[Accepted] Conspiir's Unathi Application

As long as I get to bully him for being womanly with my other Unathi, +1. -
Remove all vendors, food should only come from the chef, ree. But if it doesn't serve food I'm 100% for it. (Though I do want more inter-civ wing synergy with the kitchen.)
-
My only complaint is that if this is going to be a cafe with hangout seating, then it obsoletes the GIGANTIC (and never used) bar lounge. I'd like to see the bar reworked into a cafe that has more synergy with the kitchen, than see the library turned into an internet cafe. If there's a little bit of synergy where meals/drinks can be ordered and sent to the cafe a little easier rather than having to run up and down the hall, that could be fun, though.

Hella, do it. +1

I would update the OP but Smog came in and explained the issue better than I ever could, as someone who has only limited experience with benomorphs on Aurora.
-
Am I allowed to +1 if I gave feedback that got included? I like the idea a lot of course. My thinking for the transport mech was to work as a partner to slower mechs, with the ability to jump in and out of danger, but would get wrecked in few hits if the pilot tried anything foolish. I very much like making the light transport mech be versatile with the ability to go with any department. There's a definite need for a light mech that's faster but fragile, to complement the heavy mechs that wreck shit with regularity, and with versatility for many departments, that's is the best logical extension of the concept of my suggestions. The only other comment my gameplay experience qualifies me to make is that I think it's hilarious that firefighters might get flamethrowers, that's 10/10.

Hey babes, after watching an event run by Yonnimer which featured xenomorphs, it was discussed in OOC and dchat that the xenomorphs in code are bad. And honestly, watching them scamper around, they didn't seem terribly powerful at all. They were also said to be buggy. Some people said revert baymorphs to earlier code. I don't know jack about shit so my request is to just examine them and make whatever changes deemed necessary. Not at all high priority or anything that's actually important even in the slightest... but people were angry and I said "make a suggestion thread then" and they said there was no point and nothing would ever change. I am aware the devs are working on a big content update right now so, again, not at all important, but it is something I would like to see put real low on somebody's list. I would also understand a straight up "nah" reply to this because xenos are a novelty and aren't intended to be used very often.

While I agree with Coalf's criticisms, I do really like the idea's bones. I feel like this concept has room to grow still, and needs more work, so I do not give my plus just yet. But I would love to see this come to fruition; I feel like the server needs a little bit more variety, and I do not feel that the mixed gamemodes fill this need. If this were coded and added as-is though, I would still probably like it, despite the potential for shittery outlined by Coalf.

[Declined] Zyymurgy's Lore Dev Deputy App
zyymurgy replied to zyymurgy's topic in Developer Applications Archives
Part of my main way of thinking about worldbuilding includes dealing with ideas from the bottom up. That means that a LOT of what I think about tends to be ancient history, which isn't exceptionally relevant except for in its far-reaching effects. But... I'm okay with most of what I write being cut and considered secret lore or just not considered at all in the big picture. Not every single thing I write needs to go on the wiki, because the vast majority of it simply informs the present tense stuff that is wiki ready. That's why my ass isn't burnt to a crisp over you picking about 10 paragraphs out of a 20 page document to put on the wiki. I understand that I write a lot, and the wiki needs to be brief and informative. I feel like the way you've mercilessly edited my work so far has been very nice; you know what to cut down to make it brief but still get the main thought across. However, if you don't want to serve as my editor, I can cut my own work down after writing a lot. Whichever way works for you, but I do feel you're a good editor, Senpai. The main crux of it is I write a lot for fun, and I'm fine with that being cut down to something much more concise, whether I have someone else edit it, or I do so myself. Plus, if you end up not liking what I do, you can always redirect me and give me something to work on that you don't want to deal with. -
(Edit to note: I didn't see the date on this lol) I like the thought of fleshing out Shells, but I'm slightly opposed to giving them organs. However, I can understand the desire to have internal components to work on. I just worry that it makes them too humanlike. As long as the process of working on their synthetic organs is closer to robotics than it is to human surgery, I'd be okay with it, though. Side note, I don't think synthetics should be able to eat/drink and process the nutrients unless they have an internal biogenerator or something, and in that case, they should be noisy as fuck because they have a blender in their chest. I guess it could be hand-waved, but I prefer robots to be more inhuman when possible. Personal onion though. +1 for Replicants.

In the same way that food vending machines lessen the need for the kitchen, this would lessen the need for medbay. -1 from me personally (and I wish the food vendors were out too so I am clearly biased). However... I do like the idea. So maybe put *one* in the medbay lobby in the event that there's no doc onboard?
