  1. Hi, just going to say I'll be taking over this complaint.
  2. Here's what I gathered from the strikes and how I think they're justified. Mentioning that there are vented areas which you were directly affected to gives the indication or a certain idea of how the round is going. Third is you back talking the staff member that originally strikes you in a very unfriendly tone, while I'd have personally told you to cool it, staff aren't required to attitude from the players just because they disagree. Furthermore, your comment also gives an idea that could be true or false about the round. Personally I think you should apologize and appeal to have your ban removed.
  3. Yes, a ban appeal, where you appeal to the community as well as staff for a chance to have your ban removed. The community is more than welcome to post what ever they deem appropriate within the confines of the rules. We as staff, even though this appeal is for HoS to deal with, provide our own opinions and input regarding this appeal, so it's best to actually respond to people instead of blatantly ignoring everyone that is not HoS.
  4. Right, this isn't exactly giving you merit points.
  5. Going to add that from what I've seen, his antagonistic gimmicks appear to be a rinse and repeat things when it comes to Wizards. Where he'd call himself McCoy the Great or something along those lines and act like he's the crew member.
  6. A certain amount of objectives were removed from the total count what you mentioned, it changed the outcome from a major victory to a close one.
  7. There's very little for me to add other than the fact that most of what is written here is experienced by myself, especially regarding his conduct toward his command.
  8. In essence while we do permit a certain leeway when it comes to antagonist names, it's expected to at least be relevant for the setting. There's a difference between a comedic name that fits into a HRP environment and a name that is based on an OOC joke that does not fit with the environment, such as the name selected for the wizard in this case. I'd even call it immersion breaking. The relevant parties have been spoken to and should there be further cases of this, I'd advise people to bring such cases to myself or any other members of staff.
  9. The person in question has received a permanent ban, so this complaint will be dismissed as they cannot play said character.
  10. The ban is temporary and is in no way forcing you to withdraw this application.
  11. Please modify your post to follow the correct format. https://forums.aurorastation.org/viewtopic.php?f=36&t=22
  12. You should show a certain level of seriousness here.
  13. Reporting Personnel: Rasheeq Al-Sammach Rank of Reporting Personnel: Security Cadet Game ID: bNS-aiHt Personnel Involved: (Name, Rank: Offender/Witness/Other (Ckey)) - Corvo Oaken, Captain: Offender (hunnewle) - Vira Bolivar, Head of Security: Witness (Scheveningen) Time of Incident: (If unable to provide, leave blank) Real time: (1000 GMT+4 Friday, 07/04/2017 Location of Incident: NSS Exodus - Station Wide Nature of Incident: [X]Workplace Hazard []Accident/Injury [X]Destruction of Property []Neglect of Duty []Harassment []Assault []Misconduct [X]Other: Misuse of Firearm Overview of the Incident: He wishes to report that the Captain is roaming around the station with an energy based firearm hunting mice during a code blue situation. He has had multiple incidents of himself being alarmed and reporting that to his department that gunfire is heard as a meaning of relaying information of current happenings and to warn them of the potential of a person holding a weapon with unknown intents and nature, but in all cases it was the Captain hunting mice with this sidearm. He believes that not only is the Captain causing the crew to be alarmed due to the frequent weapon discharge but he is also endangering crew that could potentially be hit as a result of inaccuracy and at the same time diverting security resources during a code blue situation. He wishes to note that station property was also scorched in this process. Did you report it to a Head of Department or IAA? If so, who?: Vira Bolivar, Head of Security (Scheveningen) Actions taken: He believes that they may have spoken to them about it, but he feels that due to the nature of the chain of command, they were not able to do anything forcefully. Additional notes:
  14. I've reviewed these logs and as an active participant of this round as well, I could safety say that in my opinion this engagement is something I deem as valid. The Chief Engineer as a command member and a member of Engineering knew to the full extent of what is going on, from the incident in cargo to you only recently blowing a hole the locker room and the death of crew members, two of whom were members of security as well. You were seen as a dangerous and very hostile threat, and personally had I seen a gun in front of me, you close by and my characters happen to have possessed the mettle to fight instead of flight, I would've have most likely done the same in this situation. The Chief Engineer was not out there hunting you down, he was walking around fixing things, that he stumbled upon this was accidental at best. I see this as a purely IC issue, he shot a person that was in the same group of people that have caused death and destruction, he passed the gun back to the HoS as he didn't have the intent to go full out, and the end result was ultimetly his death, as a result of his actions.
  15. The1Hitman has been informed of this complaint.
  16. When joining a round, you may ghost at any whim of any antags you dislike. This is a must. Not rolling antag is a mark of shame that can only be soothed by immediately going to cryo: the game is not worth playing otherwise.
  17. So, just to give my side of the story, I feel like some accounts were not entirely clear to Xor. I was the Tajara thrall in question and there really was only me as his Thrall. The Captain and Jackboot were both in a really tense stand off, having Jawdat becoming interim and then summarily demoted for not accepting the implant, so to say the dominate order for the Captain after a cumulative of two hours of action and intrigue seems like an unfair assessment, which from my limited scope as a cadet made it seem like the same could be said about the HoP. Though I do feel the dominate order placed against the Warden to have been rash and while it was the fasted solution to the problem, I feel like there could've been alternatives about it, simply telling you to attack the IPC could've been better than to shoot and then offing yourself.
  18. I'm not sure if this application is supposed to be serious or not, and that's not a good thing. I'm also getting the vibe this may be for the mechanical advantages as opposed to role playing potentional. Your story is all over the place, I don't see how a xeno archaeologist can be 21 years old, I'm fairly certain this doesn't meet the minimum qualification of that job. The answer to the questions after the story have no substance either. I don't see a single staple of anything resembling the Tajara lore aside from you mentioning it's a Tajara, remove that and I wouldn't know it was a Tajara application. I don't usually do this but I'm giving you a -1. There's a chance I'll change my opinion assuming you work on this application to make it presentable.
  19. There are very few people in this community that I would put on the same spectrum to their dedication and interests towards synthetics and their accompanied lore, one of these people is Moondancer. Their first two answers are short yet at the same time concise and fleshed out, I especially liked the somewhat philosophical approach you took to answering the questions? Are synthetics really different from us? Could they ever truly be equal to us and why should it be allowed? Now moving on to the background story, what really intrigues me and makes me like it is the fact you had an idea, you've been role playing it over the course of weeks, maybe months now and here you are now finally applying for it, after IC'ly trying to get Lysander made, you've even Incorporated major events in the Auroraverse into your story. This shows to me the narrative of a story is important to you, and that you've thoroughly thought it out, it's unique to me yet not high on the snowflakey spectrum, always a big plus for me. Though I do have questions two questions. Why did you precisely settle for a shellframe? I think you were debating between a baseline and a shell-frame for this character Why did you pick Librarian specifically out of the other social roles? I do recall giving you the Librarian part as a suggestion some time ago but I'm interested on why you picked it. As I'm sure your answers are going to be satisfactory to me, I'm going to give you a +1, with a very strong emphasis of a +1.
  20. I thought about it in-depth, the transition part was actually the hardest part for me to decide on which route to go but in the end I did. I actually had the idea of how it would go by look at the map of Adhomai and their landmarks from cities and such. And on a final note, I don't mind exposing earlier points in his life and it was intentional of me to make it more vague as it went, especially the finale so to speak from leaving the hospital up to the current day.
  21. And so a verdict has been reached. I've reviewed the points touched upon this complaint and have spoken individuals. I've based the verdict based on things I've personally observed and evidence present in here and discord conversations. The following has been done: 1) They player has been spoken to about insulting crew, and told when it would be okay. 2) The topic of meta friends was also brought up 3) The topic of distrusting a department as a synthetic was brought up 4) Told to not rush to conclusions very quickly, while a human can make a mistake, a lawed synthetic word carries weight and an OOC mistake could cause issues. I would like to note that a lot of the arguments presented here were in the send of the word, ad-hominem. I would like to note that these kind of comments are discarded and never put into my judgement and in the future will be cracked down upon, consider this a warning without giving names.
  22. 1) Well, it's more to the fact that Nanotrasen seems to be the sole corporate entity here, it's also to do with how he managed to even reach Tau Ceti, which I'll keep as a bit of a secret thing. 2)Well, when he first joined, he thought of himself as a devout soldier to the NKA, and thought he would either live long enough to see them as victors to the war or die in the process. Yet in the current year of 2459? Who knows, for him to disappear in the middle of the night and to leave Adhomai, something must've driven him. I know I get a lock of flack for this, but I try to keep certain things as mysteries to the imagination, things you could find out if you're curious enough. 3) Well, he sees the Tajara as a Tajara, not as a Njarir or M'sai. He at the time thought that only through the unification of the enlightened constitutional monarchy that is the NKA, they could unite Adhomai and then expand to the horizon. As to what he thinks currently? Well, I guess he has the same ideals in the sense of the unification of Adhomai, but on how that should be done? That is another mystery.
  23. BYOND Key:Aboshehab Character Names: Species you are applying to play:Tajara What color do you plan on making your first alien character (Dionaea & IPCs exempt): Dark Gray (RGB 30, 30, 30 Have you read our lore section's page on this species?: Yes, multiple times. I'm amazed by how extensive it is, especially love the military structure one. Please provide well articulated answers to the following questions in a paragraph format. One paragraph minimum per question Why do you wish to play this specific race: I guess when I first started playing on this server, I've had a bit of a less than enjoyable experiences with the Tajara characters about, which was about two years ago and it soured my opinion of this. Though in the recent few months I've been paying a bit more attention to other races, most because I thoroughly play command positions so it exposes me to all types of characters and I find that my opinion has shifted greatly since then. I was slightly skeptical about applying for this race, but after reading the Tajara wiki page and other linked ones my opinion has shifted immensely, so here I am making this application in the hopes of acquiring this species to my white list which I'll hopefully enjoy. Identify what makes role-playing this species different than role-playing a Human: I suppose it's that they have a bit of a tragic history, though not on the same vain as the Unathi or the Skrell, yet still tragic. I see something akin to the Russian revolution here but on a planet scale. I see a race that has a lot of invisible hands dealing with their affairs, whether with the intention of sabotaging the Tajara plans of improving their species or to aid a specific side for their own benefit, you see a lot of conflict going around. This has made it so that an entire race has been traumatized from one extent to another, something very similar to the Skrell after the Glorsh incident. You'll have those that have lost their livelihood, their family, their health, their wealth and a multitude of other things which has given them a certain deposition to things. With the previous in mind, Humanity hasn't truly had such a tragedy as this, you could argue the second World War, but it seems the conflict on Adhomai is much more severe. On to the more singular specifics. The Tajara come from a single planet which has been attributed to being for the majority of it's history to be divided between the nobility and peasantry. Whereas the nobility had an excess of things, the peasantry were forced by the limitation of what they had into a very pragmatic line of thinking, whether it is to their food, clothing or how their daily life was. The closest thing I can think of that emulates this in human history are conditions prior to the French and Russian revolutions yet they cannot compare the scale in which the Tajara have it, on a planet wide scale. The nobility also prior to the first revolution held onto to their power, through brutal policies of oppression and the hoarding of technologies, which could be attributed to a somewhat stagnant advance to technology for their race. A Tajara as a person has biological characteristics evolved to suit their needs for the climate of Adhomai. Cultural aspects force a certain decorum when it comes to speaking with each other, which is done through the likes of 3rd person perspective when speaking. Tajara have a more unique sub-species as opposed to humanity which come with their own distinctions between biologically or culturally, though arguably there are also sub-species for humans due to adaptation to different conditions across the galaxy, they just aren't represented currently. Character Name: Rasheeq Al-Sammach Please provide a short backstory for this character, approximately 2 paragraphs Rasheeq Al-Sammach, born in one of the outlying villages on the coast near Miran'mir in the year of 2426. He is a Zhan-Khazan, born to a family of workers, specifically a family of fisherman, which can be attributed to his family name "Al-Shammach" which translates to "The Fisherman" in Arabic. He received a very modest upbringing due to what is available, his education being very limited and what his parents could afford very little. The first revolution had little affect on him as he was still young at the time but as he grew, he was taught about about how things came to be, about the spark that ignited the first revolution and the aftermath of it, and how it ushered a new age for his people under the guidance of Hadii. With the many changes the President has done, things didn't seem too bright to Rasheeq, surely there is something that his people can have? A government able to unite his people without oppression and injustice? In the year of 2450, the New Kingdom of Adhomai seceded and declared their independence, ruled by the glorious and benevolent King Nazira Ka'rimah. His promises for a better future for his people and their victory against the false government officials simply seeking to fill their own pockets. Rasheeq went to Miran'mir and enlisted in this righteous cause, he is now the staple and the backbone of this new rightful government, he was a rifleman. He would serve his rightful monarch faithfully and would do so for the years to come, he would go on to become part of the Imperial Dragoons. Though as time went on, skepticism and pessimistic attitude began to creep into Rasheeqs life. Is this fight a good one? Are all these lives lost worth it? Does any of this conflict have a meaning? During a retreat from an active engagement, an artillery round manage to hit his general area taking out his mount and wounding him in the process, he was taken away from the front lines where he would be treated for his wounds, and in the dead of the night he would disappear with his belongings. It is now the year 2459 and Al-Sammach is 33 years old. He is in the Tau Ceti system with very little to his name, only recently passing his comprehension of Ceti Basic test and set to begin his employment aboard the NSS Exodus as a Security Cadet. What do you like about this character? I like to think he has the mentality of the crushed idealist, yet still has hope to regain what he believed in. Where he was fighting for something which he first believed in but as time went, his beliefs and resolve were shaken. How would you rate your role-playing ability? I personally don't like this kind of questions as I prefer others could judge me, but I'd rate myself at this point around a 7 out of a scale of 10. Notes:
  24. Right, I feel the need to put my perspective on this, I usually shy from this and only post my verdicts. So my stance on that round with the two assistants was that I personally felt that they intentionally picked the general greytider outfit, looks and mannerism, now whether their intention was to bait people or their intention was to actually do proper assistant work is irrelevant to what I'm going to say. Before I became a moderator, my first instinct when I see a person with what I described as a greytider would make me straight away wary, and I often adminhelped to make the staff aware of this, I've adminhelped when I see them running about with fueltanks, it's the general consensus of what people on the server do when a very staple appearance of griefers happen. Now that I've become part of the staff team, I always watch them like a hawk, especially since most of the time they are actually new players, the only reason this didn't happen in the round in question was since we were aware they were not new players. The round in question regarding the two "greytider" assistants is not the topic of this complaint. Points that are relevant on the round in question were already addressed by both sides of the complaint. Another point I'd like to raise is that when writing a post here, I heavily advise you do not base your posts on emotions, nor should you be passive aggressive, belittle or be in any way uncouth, as it does not present you in a good light and will be considered when I place my judgement. Edit: I also advise those that have anything to say to do so within 24 hours.
  25. This is a notice that I will be taking over this complaint. I advise both sides to limit their comments to factual debate with evidence.
