Handcuff Knockout!

Basically, when you are being pulled around by some asshat (*Ahem* Assistant) you can take your Handcuff Chain/Cable and wrap it around the person's neck and try to knock'em down. When you do this, Cable Cuffs have a 50% Chance to snap once you got them done, thus freeing you. Handcuffs have a 8% chance to do so. The Person getting Robusted, can stop this by hitting resist, then a % Battle begins. Unathi have a 25% greater chance to break the Restrainents, and to win in the struggle as the Person getting Robusted.

But we do, as is indicated by the sprite.

The sprite doesn't actually represent how it works in-game though, if you were cuffed from the front as per the sprite then you could hold at least one item in your hands, interact with objects crudely, etc.

But you can't actually do jack so I perceive it as from the back.

Quick cuff breaking and grappling the Sec officer who already robusted and cuffed you? No. Security will quickly learn that even cuffed perps will still try to kill them, and thus every criminal will be stun batonned into unconsciousness before getting cuffed. Or Sec will just start shooting prisoners more often because they're still trying kill them once caught. And there will be cries of Shitcurity. And I will turn back and whisper 'You asked for this'.

No.

People are already shitters when it comes to being transported to the brig. I'm going to have to end up stunlocking some schmuck to keep them from doing this every 3 seconds. (A lot like how people like to try and slip out of their cuffs while I'm holding them to talk to someone. Then I have to move them a tile over to cancel it. Or just wordlessly chewing on their hands constantly in the 20s walk up to the brig.)

Honestly, this idea is akin to the suggestion a while back allowing handcuffed people to kick people near them.

if the sprite isnt representative of how it actually works, how are we able to bite our hands off while cuffed?

bluespace obviously

Probably since the person coding the first hand cuffs wasn't quite thinking it through and they ended up with it being like the person is being cuffed from the front and back with options from each, and people decided they were fine how they were.

But really it's Bluespace.

Can we please be able to kick/headbutt if not being actively pulled while cuffed? I hate not being able to defend myself because of how the shitty paingun meta works right now.

Throwing my opinion in, I'll make this simple as I can be.

Basically, if you get caught and cuffed. That's that. You got caught red handed. I wouldn't advise people to attempt to retaliate against an officer because...

1. He's got weapons to take you down. Long range and close range.

2. Resisting Arrest is a long sentence. If you can't do the time, don't do the crime. It's not that hard.

3. Even if you got him down... What's your next move? As soon as that officer wakes u- Reinforcements inbound! Bring in the AI support! Hell hath no fury!

4. Fighting back against a gunman during Nuke Round. Yeah, you don't want to do that. He's scary, and you want to avoid pain.

Trying to fight back will end up you getting backfired most of the time. Just grab a friend or a gang to break you out. Work as a team, damn it.

So, if this does gets added. I wouldn't recommend trying this tactic unless there is something wrong with you.
