  1. just spitballing could it work where when the chef swipes his ID he gets a menu to lock/ unlock the vending machine and adjust prices of products inside the vending machine (default price would be zero) alternatively it could be adjusted via objects tab with chef access

  3. my favorite thing about Poly is its nesting making it obnoxiously hard to ever find anything you need in the chief's office. i wish you could designate the nest or like, have an object it uses as its nest.

  5. we have flasks that can fix reagents, why can't we have sticks that can slow the reaction idk just spitballing
  6. we can have a sealed plasma gas stick that on breaking mixes the oxygen with a spark to provide the illumination until the sealed product is consumed.
  7. many sci-fi franchises have moved to using glow sticks to illuminate large areas. Its the future, can't we just say glowstick tech has advanced? this sounds like a great idea imo
  8. In addendum the station map sprite in arrivals is actually currently incorrect as it was never updated for the station redesign
  9. ok lets see what I can do down the list Haruspex - I like him as a character oocly, but really haven't had much interaction with him. There was one time I got PDA messaged out of the blue to play dice with him and some others, I really like how they go out and try to get people involved. I really have nothing particularly negative to say, they do a great job at being a faceless robot but again, I don't have TOO much interaction. Gollee - I honestly have no idea what characters are yours, who plays who doesn't really matter for me Carton - I think the character is going to a better place, being the nuke op slash security guard can work, but not when its over done. After the first time it loses all the mystery and suspense OOCly. He'd make for a great show/ movie character but this is a game where rounds happen over and over and over and once the cats out of the bag its out, even if we should forget everything between rounds. That said, I really like him as a straight up corrupt cop deal, there was one time when I surrendered as a nuke op and he was escorting me out, uncuffed me and shot me in the head for trying to escape. I totally accepted it and it fit the character to the T. Vira - I love vira, shes the epitome of hardass heads you love to fuck with while still actually following the orders (as an engineer of course). Most of my interactions with Vira occurred when I was totally gung-ho pro engineering anti sec so that probably clouds my opinion somewhat. If memory serves, could be more forceful than actually necessary. Xander - It's been said before, but pretty much all the characters feel similar to me. The Godswood, in particular, seemed like a mishmash of 'wouldn't it be super cool to be a billionaire on a space station and do all this stuff'. Not to say I didn't enjoy my interactions with the character, quite the opposite actually. Very well roleplayed and enjoyable to be around. However, its difficult to actually establish a connection with a character that can quite literally buy the station she worked on if she felt like it. The only real issue I have is you don't like to cede authority under any circumstances, even when you really really should. Pheobe - I used to love to hate the character, now I actually like them. Shes gotten much better the past few months compared to shouting down and screaming at anyone and everything for imagined insults. I like where the character has gone and now shes actually interesting and someone I like to interact with rather than being a token self hating human. Thats a quick skim of people who put up
  10. tear apart Conservan Xullie, i've made an effort recently to make him not one dimensional 'engineering is always right!' in the past couple of months but i know there are things I can do to make him better I don't have any other characters so thats it

  12. i decided to take the personality of the gross construction worker from futurama and put him in the body of a not gross engineer to try and make nobody like him because he's an ass. it didn't work, so i decided to make xullie more misogynistic and racist then that didnt pan out either so now he's more realistic i guess i dunno
  13. i have an idea for an engineering mech - deployable mobile solar panel mech. it'd be basic APLU frame with a solar tracking board and some solar parts and can be 'deployed' when outside and on top of a wire knot to deliver 10-15k power directly to the loop. niche usefulness, primarily dropping them down on the asteroid when one of the stations loses power for whatever reason

  16. rather than just have the nuke kill those zones, run the game for 5 minutes after detonation and simulate shrapnel spread from the recently nuked station blasting holes through the tcomsat and asteroid
  17. let me give a real life example the city of Detroit in the USA has had major financial and economic problems for decades now and recently called upon the state to fix everything. This was their 'ERT' and the state sent in the crisis manager who proceeded to do what they needed to do, basically slashing and burning the 'waste' as they saw, it got a ton of people in the city government pissed off but guess what, they don't matter because its not their call anymore. They called for help, they got the help and they have absolutely no say in what happens from then on. so here''s the chain of command I suggest Duty officer>ERT lead> ERT trooper> Captain> heads and that's in all scenarios it doesn't matter whats going on

  19. if you don't want ERT stepping on your toes as command, don't call ERT unless you really need to
  20. if you want advice on stations (and don't mind cribbing from other games lore) then I'd strongly suggest taking a look at Egosoft's X universe and its galactic economic system. Its not perfect by any means, but it can give a good base to work off of.
  21. as for makeshift powersink, I'd assume the device will be on apc net not wire grid, meaning the absolute worst it could do is blank an apc, maybe stop a few from charging if the output isn't high enough
  22. will there be a visual cue or more of an 'OH SHIT no gravity' kind of thing
  23. guess it just looks bigger because the rest of the station isn't there for comparison there is a lot that can get cleaned up in terms of editing and compression though, off the top of my head the armory has 3 armored walls between it and briefing room, that could be slided two over so its not like, on top of the solars. I actually like the expanded firing range, one always seemed too small for me when i played cadet
  24. I will say there are two things I really like about this map though 1) communal brig 2) brig having the windows to people can visit the communal brig
  25. as a non sec player, this one looks enormous. Like, from top to bottom looks like it'd take at least a minute to travel at max speed in game.
