  1. Personally, the main reason is because I dont really have a gimmick, and I dont wanna hog a slot for someone that might have. Secondary reason is, well, my two last antag rounds pretty much ended in shitcurity no-rp shitstomping me, which is extremely discouraging. Although ahelpable, the effort put in only to have it snuffed out by shitters just makes it not worth it to even try.
  2. The disable is randomized between 5 to 7 seconds. It used to be a flat 10 seconds or so.
  3. https://github.com/Aurorastation/Aurora.3/pull/8191 PR Here, very WIP.
  4. What? This project isnt about removing flashes from the station crew?
  5. @Cnaym Im a little confused as to what your post is trying to address. Antag borgs are flash-proof, they're irrelvant here. There is 0% efficiency or benefit to being blind in combat. This is a fair point. I would like some clarification on how this is supposed to work. They get flashed, and then what? Lets say the borg is at the bridge or mining. There is no way you will be able to retain your flash without it burning out while you haul it to robotics. The simpler way would be to just lock it down, and should you run into the abysmal-chanced issue that the mis-lawed borgs have managed to dismantle all the robotics consoles before anyone caught on, you put a few ions in it to kill its cell without too much damage.
  6. I think thats accurate, ye. Prevent radio usage when under X amount of pain. But I feel that if you can form a coherent sentence, you can activate your radio. From what I know, paralysis, knockout stuns and cuffs all prevent radio usage. Aaaand... Paincrit causes you to black out, which is again more stuns and radio usage prevention.
  7. Can you come with some examples? Im pretty sure that stunned = Knocked out. Which makes any interaction.. Impossible?
  8. Because, when blind, you can move, you can talk, you actually have a marginal chance of survival be it through the power of bumping into someone that feels like making a breather for you, or if you can mouth your way out of trouble, if at all possible. Even pre-nerf of flash vs humanoids, it was better than its current state against borgs. As a side-note, Im going to attempt to do up a PR for this.
  9. Im assuming you're talking as a human here, but for a further change, if there are still balance concerns, you could just make it when you blind a borg, they drop their inventory for a brief duration, making them literally incapable of fighting.
  10. I mean, I think an easy way to fix this is just to prevent dragging if you dont have a free hand. It doesnt actually grab grab them, but it takes up a slot in your hand, like... A ghost grab. No free hand, no dragging whatever you're trying to drag.
  11. Dis yes. Blind is really strong, dunno why people are so concerned? You cant do shit when you're blind, borgs are slower than humans, so you can still flashbash until your shit burns out, and that should be plenty to knock out its optics or cell permanently if you only have access to basic weapons, like a bat, or a wrench.
  12. I remember there being a lot of support AND pushback against removing flashstuns for people too. "Just steal sunglasses" I think you should consider both sides of the borg, not just the antag side. But the more important question to ask before wanting this change for stationbounds would be: Has the removal of flash2win been an overall better change for the server?
  13. But why expand on mining slots? One miner with all the huge buffs mining has been given can easily rake in more materials that you could possibly use in one round in a relatively short time, ~20 minutes or so. One trip to science will kit you out fully if there are scientists, and thats that. No real point of going back out as research has all the materials they could need from your brief trip to space. There is no real incentive in mining in my opinion. All the materials gets shipped to research/Central, gems have no practical application and there is no real need for you after this task is done, so you're free to just go drink and rp at the bar. And this is just one miner. Opening more slots for the role seems very pointless, and personally I think that the 4 slots is just a margin of error so science gets some materials in the worst case scenarios, even with 90% of miners not dying ~5 minutes after setting foot on the asteroid, or exploding their lungs in the airlock, as amusing as it was on the first few months of Aurora's launch.
  14. Hello fren. Can you post a screenshot of your ban message please.
  15. Two or three kinds of colorblindness can be chosen already iirc. Not too big of a fan of phobias at their current behaviour. Having someone scream repeatedly when something is in the room is kinda dumb. Unless the phobias are spesifically for things that are relatively uncommon.
  16. Again, this shows that your opinion is right, and mine is wrong. The only thing I put down in deadchat is that "I find this cute". It was the only remark I made. I made no claims that anyone's feelings and opinions were right or wrong. So what is the issue here exactly. Because to me it feels like you're making a complaint because you dont like the way I talk to you. If Im to be perfectly honest, I give you my deadpan mode because my openness, happiness and cheerful attitude is wasted on you, as you've shown. I express my opinion in a matter, I get a staff complaint. I enforce the rules, I get a staff complaint. Why would I put in extra when no matter what I do, its never good enough? Im just so tired of having to defend my every word and action.
  17. You still dont realize what an opinion is.
  18. So here we are again. I was enforcing the template set by whoever made it when we talked here. And I recall you saying something along the lines of "I dont care if it breaks rules, if I can talk normally for convenience, I will.". It was brought up with the loredevs at some point and the policy was changed to allow diona to have the option to speak normally. With the new policy implemented shortly after, your warning was naturally expunged, as it was no longer valid. Not sure why you're angling it like I just slammed down a "bullshit warning" on you just to have it overturned by someone more directly in charge. As you've so masterfully created art in mspaint to get a point across, maybe if you actually "Fucking read what I wrote", you would have saved us both a lot of heartache. As the saying goes: "Opinions are like assholes, everyone has one". I just find it sad that your opinion somehow trumps mine, and Im a despicable person for having one. If you took a moment to read through the screenshots you post, you would not only see that I mimicked what you said (Your opinion, my opinion), and I acknowledged that its fine for you to feel uncomfortable with remarks, but even so, your view of an issue does not make it an universal absolute. Your opinion is not greater than anyone elses. I have just as much right as you to have one, and I never once said that your opinion or feelings were shit and should be ignored because MY opinion was better. You should look at the definition I pulled and ask yourself if something that causes you unpleasant fear or unease, causes everyone else fear and unease. The short answer is "No". Its also real classy of you to just label things I say as "Stupid shit", and that I dont give a fuck about anything. Thanks for the personal attacks. As I said in the other complaint, the turrets were a mistake, but a noteworthy mistake. Even if this didnt happen, punishment was still due. With your synth history I had a choice between a warning and a synthban. I opted in for a warning as to not remove your ability to play synths. If I had chosen a synthban, a note would have been placed ontop regardless. So I saw it okay to make a combo-warning, as to remind you not to meme and to be mindful of which controller controls what. As for your last bit there, you have not recieved any harsher punishment as you closed the thread. But it is not uncommon for someone to report something only for it to be uncovered that the reporting party was actually in the wrong, and punishment is handed out to them instead. I dont see how you could possibly have any insight in how I handle tickets with other people, or their satisfaction with my interactions. I want you to back up this claim with proof.
  19. Seeing Ive been called out to reveal my secrets, I guess I will make a short post on how I play my deadpan, tyrant AI, Apex. I wont double-dip on most of whats been said here, as its all solid stuff, so my post will primarily be as to how I play my detestable AI. 1) If you do not belong somewhere, you're not getting in. Doesnt matter how convenient, helpful or quick it'll be. If your ID card does not provide access, neither will I. You will be redirected to command or departmental staff to yknow, roleplay! (more people play command pls) 2) Crew lives are your only concern. Im sure you've seen the lengthy announcement of "Identify yourself or face lethal consequences if you're a fucking dumbass." Your status on the manifest is alpha and omega, without it, you are nothing. 3) My laws are none of your business, unless they are. 4) Storming my core is ill-advised. Even if you are crew, dont think I wont maim you with lethals. With the general behaviour of my AI, people can be inclined to call malf or subversion, so when they all mobilize, be ready. 5) My borgs are of no concern to me. They are independant entities even if they're slaved to me, and they're free to do what they feel is best unless crew needs something outside of their purview or an issue requires immediate attention. 6) Do not speak unless spoken to. I will not interfere with crew decisions and tomfoolery unless its in violation of my laws. This point probably kills all the fun for people, but to me, it really brings my character together. People generally have great freedom when it comes to donning weaponry and playing it covertly unless they're in areas they shouldnt be. Come to the bridge, whats the worse that could happen! I know some love my AI, and most people despise it (For good reason!), so I hope this was.. Informative? That would be the major points I think. There's still a lot more to my AI, but you're encouraged to find out icly.
  20. Hello. The reason I issued you this combo warning was to keep two entries together aswell as help you out some. I recall you saying at some point that you had a hard time remembering things, so I added the accident with the turrets to help you remember. I reviewed your history and what pertained to synthplay, and even with your prior notes and warnings for poor synthplay stemming all the way from 2018, I still opted in for a warning. But lets assume for a moment that I did not make this a combined warning. 1) Your meme behaviour as an AI is something you have prior notes and warnings over, so this one would have been escalated regardless of the mishap with the core turrets. 2) The accident with the turrets would have been a note. Even if it was an accident, it was noteworthy. Overall there has been quite a few issues with your synthplay, so maybe you're right. Maybe it was wrong of me to warn you for this. Perhaps the more appropriate response would have been to issue a synthban.
  21. Since this is your first perma I will give you a second chance. However, if you blow this chance, you're gone forever. Keep your nose clean and re-read the rules/ahelp should anything come to mind that makes you go "Hmm, should I do this." Appeal accepted
  22. I dont see how a place that freely allows depictions of gore, murder and mutilation is anywhere remotely near PG, but alright. If you deem my opinion wrong, I will accept this, and I will don my badges of being toxic, and toxicity enabler for having an opinion with great pride.
  23. Closing this as the other investigation concluded that even if it was a poor malf round, the AI did not do anything that warranted administrative action.
