1. BYOND key: SonicGotNuked Character names of all involved: The Chief Engineer Mercenary - Me The Skrell Captain Mercenary - @TehFlaminTaco The blueshield body guard - Alkiar The Head of Personnel Mercenary - @DAUnHolyKnight Other Command: Fernando Gonzales Vezaidia Tacreze HoS - Unsure Everyone in security and research. Basically the entire crew fell for it except a few. Documentation of the event, Link to post/Screenshot in game. If multiple screenshots please compose an album: No one suspected a thing. What happened this shift? Four mercenaries devise a devious plan to teleport right on the bridge, park their ship on the asteroid, and run it under everyone's noses. We had a goal to try and fire the original heads of staff, and our fake captain threw the HoS and his security team against research, arresting some, and harassing them. Over the two hour mark, after I ended up spacing myself as the CE, the round concludes as a real captain joins. The infiltrators flee from the scene like roaches. Have you read the application rules??: Yes Have you made sure this incident didn't result in administrative action? Not that I know of Please provide well articulated answers to the following questions in a Paragraph each. Why does this moment deserve a spot in the Hall Of Fame?: Deception of the entire station crew is rare, and almost impossible to complete. With so many different interactions, and requirements, some one is bound to figure out that three intruders infiltrated the majority of command, while there was command, and run the entire station. It provided a sudden upturning of everything, everyone's sudden reactions when this infiltration is suddenly revealed and the uproar from players freshly learning that intruders managed their shift, threw security at research, and took over the station from under everyone's noses. Are you certain we are all laughing together are not shaming someone?: Yep Final thoughts/anything you want to add?: I upload pictures and want to put pictures to this fourm but it doesn't show.
2. This seems interesting, but keep in mind, not every round should be "EVERYTHING IS GOING TO EXPLODE IF IT IS NOT EXTENDED" It was like mixed-secret rotation. It doesn't provide enough character buildup when suddenly you are running from cultists, traitors, and loyalist heads of staff every round. This seems neat, but it needs to be carefully balanced.
3. I would like to point out. The anti-material rifle is a full 25 TC (aka ALL of it) Without teamwork, it only would have a couple shots.
4. I've honestly forgot when I first came on the server. 2016? I first learned about ss13 when I was nearing the end of high school freshman year and after playing on TG code, I remember my attention drawing towards Aurora. I placed hours into this server until hours turned into literal days infront of my computer playing Aurora, Interacting with the community, and simply having a great time during such simple times in my life. It was like my Minecraft phase all over again for me even if none of my real life friends understood the game like I have. To say, I am glad I found Aurora. Even if I was banned from synth, antagonist roles, and even a shitty player back in the day. I fully believe this server helped guide me in my life with maturity and grammar improvements. I came to the server with shitty spelling and I came out with decent grammar enough to at least drag me through my Senior Essay's. I remember rounds and hold some true to my heart like the kell round of 2016. I sometimes look at that video and wish at times Complete Garbage was able to capture the absolute madness and laughter of all our voices inside the voice chat. (No hard feelings) The server is old enough that the people who first joined grew older. I learned how to drive while I was playing, got my first job, even went to a damn military school. Time will always advance, and for the veterans, sometimes our lives change and ss13 naturally falls behind us.
5. Ya know I meme the shit out of taj... But they are the main species I play and for good reason.
6. I am going to place my two cents in. Could we have two separate servers? Perhaps this colony base builder may be placed far into the frontier as NT lore wise looks to expand and the Aurora is kept floating in space. The persistence is a good idea, but people will sometimes wish to return to the standard style of the game. It would also allow a new set of characters for everyone to make. How would cryo work?
7. If you are forming a militia when security is dead or ERT is dead/not called, that is fine. When you are forming a militia when security is alive or ERT is around, you are wrong. This should be a black and white look onto things. Militias should be formed to DEFEND against antags, not attack or hunt them down.
8. After talking with Schev and coming up with new ideas via the discord. I will go ahead and support this nerf within the force gloves.
9. I wasn't around during this time with the removal of slugs, but I'll reference what I saw before they got removed. Security would find the quickest, and easiest way to kill an antag by shooting them straight in the face once they are authorized lethals. Of course, like everything, escalation is required from both sides. I can see why randomly chopping off a limb with no reason could fall under powergaming, gank, and generally against the rules. Now if you did have escalation, I never saw a rule against you being able to chop off limbs while in a fight. If we did, then why can we target different limbs? Why don't we just code melee to either attack the head or chest. If you are one traitor VS five armed security officers, I am pretty sure you can use escalated measures to take them down before they take you down. I support the reduction with the force gloves inside RnD or the material increase, but I do not support its reduction within traitor brought forcegloves. Why? If someone wishes to buy that weapon combination, you will be spending 16 telecrystles for it. I am sure that is fairly balanced. There are still plenty of counter plays and the simplest one of them all is not to restrict yourself to close quarters, use the hall, and their force-glove esword combination is now useless while you spray them down with bullets. Be smart, play smart, and don't blindly follow antags into the maintenance shaft unless you have a plan.
10. You can't insta-grab with the RnD forcegloves but the enhanced ones still have it. I mean, if you really wish, I think you should have the option of buying this combo for the price of 16 telecrystles. What is stopping me from buying a revolver, that is cheaper, and blowing off someones head at point blank? Perhaps the RnD force gloves should gain a tweak, but leave the enhanced ones alone.
11. First all, I am going to pull the real life card. The adverage adult needs about 50 to 100 cups of coffee to overdose.
12. Oh god, I would not wish to do this as an HoP when you get greytide 1 and 2 to talk to. Repeating what everyone said, -1
13. Arrow768 , I can back up the ID access being printed. For now, can you make test range pins be printable? Seems like a decent solution.
14. I think you are missing the point so I'll put it in other words. HOLY SHIT, NANOTRASEN SECURITY GOT ARRESTED ON THE FUCKLOAD FOR SYNDICATE TIES??! HOLY SHIT, NO ONE LIKES THE NEW DYSTOPIA POLICE FORCE!
15. I can understand this, but the main issue is security and cargo will tell you to use the firing range, 9/10 refusing the plain scientist because there is simply no reason for science to have all access guns causing people to just assume you are an antag. Like Coalf mentioned, this is a lazy fix designed from a low RP server where these restrictions must be in place. I understand cargo may but science is ALREADY highly dependent upon cargo if they want access to branch away from tinkering with IE to trying to find the hidden chems, building better module guns, or simply printing better stuff. It is destructive to force science players and antags to rely souly on if there is a cargo technician who may or may not fell SSD in the warehouse when they wish to branch out of spending an hour building some device.
16. Oh god, why. Every head of staff knows how much of a pain it is to keep animals fed. I bought an entire vending machine back when Nanako added the hunger AND IAN ATE IT ALL only to become hungry.
17. instead of making viruses almost useless with a pill, how about we rework virology?
18. Then call for help? You are still in security, push them over, and run out the door. You seem to be what iffing every single possible situation without realising that IPCs can tank bullets anyway.
19. Why are they even getting out of their cuffs and why don't you just run out the door?
20. Simple, push him over if in close range then try to use the cuffs you spawn with. Or in other terms, don't be running around getting trapped into small rooms with other antags.
21. Rework them, no seriously, they are fine existing but their accessibility needs to be changed due to the heavy restrictions it placed on antags alone. This does not effect scientists testing weapons nor does it effect security themselves running around with lawgivers one bit, instead, it just seems to be a solution to an issue that could be solved easily through admin intervention when scientists start powergaming like it used to work. Firing pins since day one when the first PR got implemented was something that I was against with and it just seemed it got merged randomly without word. Silly me, I'm not supposed to have opinions! Today, I'll be referencing to the original suggestion that this wonderful idea came about in. Now I will agree to this point.. to an extent. One of the main things addressed was RnD turning into a gun factory... instead.. it still is. RnD can freely print lawgivers and all security is needed to do is throw a firing pin inside so the point in security's regards is still moot. Antag regards, especially Rev, this is HIGHLY restricting. Science was one of the departments that actually offered a revolution a chance to fight the other side. I am not stating it is impossible, but when loyalist security is out gunned then you, it kind of renders science as a force to be reckoned with moot. Science SHOULD be a force reckoned with! Especially after new cargo requiring actually money to buy a single and expensive gun. Science already depends on cargo for minerals and it adds another hurdle giving antags less leeway when it comes to having gear. Another issue I have is the fact that science only has one box of firing pins, and if scrubbers hate you that day, then it would be impossible to do gun research unless security allows you to borrow some which is sometimes not guaranteed. Some more issues I have with firing pins, they have a chance to break when you remove them and the removal process itself requires you to sit around and wait, making it more running into a wall when you attempt to steal a firing pin.
22. I am going to agree moving detectives lethals to the armoury.... BUT make it rubbers, not stun. Rubbers would enforce detectives not running about shooting their gun about due to the limited ammo. With the stuns, detectives are just going to recharge them and they will be held to lower criticism.
23. I would have to agree with Kaed. Out current in game ways to remove implants is supposed to be challenging via getting whoever down onto surgery. Cult already can be deconverted, Rev too if you decide to try talking to the person, and bassicly any other antag via loyalty implant.
24. I shall state my shorthand opinon in one word. No Anyway, all the mechanics that these magical antag status drugs are all something that loyalty implants can achieve. The prevention of converting against cult and rev can be solved through loyalty implants and the removal of antag status will be much the same. What would stop medical creating overdose sized pills to remove antag status? Instead of creating magic antag pills, how about figuring out another rework or simply just removing them? Another point I would like to adress, antag status is an excuse, not a ruling to fight every step you go. The phycologist could actually roleplay with the cult trying to figure out why people snapped instead of force feeding them some pill. This can be the case with all antags.
