I am just going to ask a counter question to this. Robotics is a popular job, why do we have a self destruct button in the first place? We could all just lock down said borg and drag it to robotics then if it is the case of what you claimed. The thing was spouting secrets into comms about NT to the crew of fifty or so. Why should NT put effort and money into fixing something that is causing a loss of asset and killing around 3 people and almost killing around 11 more people? It was blown, because every second it was alive, it would of been spouting more secrets that would cost a lot of assets and secrets. NT does not care for their one robotisist who got injured, they care more of protecting their assets more then the crew itself. That needs to be kept in mind. It would be a different story if bit did not want to be blown, but he asked to be blown then started spouting NT secrets TO be blown. The entire "expensive machinery" thing is to protect borg players from the poor excuse of blowing them because they are cheap and useless. I honestly don't see how this is a problem and warning worthy anymore. Bit got what he wanted, to be blown. cloud got good RP out of the situation, and the captain killed something that was a reason why many people flooded into medical with internal bleeding.
-
The robotisis should got a little warning when bit was sitting around asking to be blown up and used enough common sense to back away when it was asking for itself to be blown apart and then the five second beep you can get the hell away before your hand gets blown off. Prat even warned the robotisis that he was asking for a detonation! The captain fixed a crisis, and it sometimes may end with collateral dammage that would be less worse then the continued internal bleeding cases medical was being swarmed with. I'll tell you that a missing hand is a lot better then having internal bleeding. If I recall correctly, the dude was not even missing his hand, I was the one who took out part of bit from his chest and actually fixed it.

Yeah, I posted my concerns about this in Discord. No matter how many threads/videos you post about it being a real life thing is not going to help sway it in my opinion. Not everything that is honestly used to kill someone without warning should be added to the game to do just that. It would be nice if it was a paralyze or a mental breakdown and not just lol cyanide.

It would actually give a reason not to ignore the thing, the machines can shoot shit at you already. I think it would be interesting (as a regular CMO player) to start pulling out cans and shit from people when the event is ignored long enough. It is really entertaining for the kitchen vendor to shoot knives at you already. How about if we make it so if you ignore the thing enough, the items will start having a chance to embed. Also it would be easy to fix the origin machine if you find it and it ends the event.

I'll tell you my point of view. The holodeck in the middle of a high traffic area is a amazing idea and I love it. Power goes out, it happens, it is a annoyance, and it gives you more of a reason to bitch at engineering. A private chaplain holodeck also sounds good. I really do not wish the holodeck to be moved back to its old boring place on the surface level right on the edge where no one goes.

I was the CMO during this painful fun round. During the times of dealing with a flood of people with internal bleeding and broken bones that was caused by the borgs, I strongly believe that the captains blowing up the borgs without warning was valid because they where both traitors and both inflicting mass death and destruction with bit opening the elevators and the medical borg releasing a virus that gave you minor brute and overdosed you on Bicaridine. Keep in mind that borgs have a five second timer and beeping noise that will get you the fuck away from it when it is blowing up, so I would see it as the robotisist fault that he did not move his ass in time and it was a shame that RNG took over and cut power to comms and the station, how was the captain supposed to know when a random event comes in at the worst moments? If I was in the captains position, I would of blown the borgs. You should not need to say over comms "I am blowing the borgs," when the said borg is spouting tons of super secret NT secrets into comms for the entire crew of 50 to hear. I will just point out again, the amount of death those two borgs caused, they should and where blown because of it from the shit I had to fix while CMO in medical. The round was getting close to a little end anyway and the person did survive bit blowing up in his face.

[2 Binned] [new map] Make Tesla The Main Engine
sonicgotnuked replied to Snakebittenn's topic in Archive
I honestly will strongly disagree with this to switch its placement in the map. What is stopping you from setting up tesla as your main power supply on the sublevel? And why should tesla be placed on the main level? Tesla will end a round if it gets released on the main level with the emergency shuttle being called. Tesla being released on the sub level is manageable if you keep everyone off the sublevels. The super matter is fine where it is currently, it is hard to expload, and it has a eject button if things go south that the tesla simply does not have. -

I agree with these points, antags who refuse a search should be forced. BUT people mainly use this charge for a excuse, or a loophole to search antags knowing the high chance they have contraband when they show a little tiny amount of stuff they are mechanically doing their gimmick with with, they may find a excuse to get the dude searched with it. Sometimes wiz woz wishes to be peace wizard, or peace ninja comes on and they get searched, found as not a threat, and they are fine. It does not have to every time things escalate to lethal because the excuse of "they are on muh space station." Not everything needs to turn into a gun fight because the antag (who is mechanically unable to leave the station) is not leaving the station and you wish to charge a infiltration. As a antag, of COURSE you will refuse a infiltration charge because it is a straight tracking implant and of course you don't want security constantly tracking your every move. I seen times where security wishes to do that just because wiz woz or ninja decides to go on the station because they rolled antag. What do you expect? Of course said antag will come on the station because no one wants said ninja/wiz to sit around in their base where nothing happens. 9/10 it will escalate to lethals, maybe said antag goal is not a gun fight and this basically forces the hand. Yes, sometimes peace wiz is annoying AF when it happens, but there is other ways you can get enjoyment outside of the antags in your game. Regulations and "they are not authorized" and "they have a santa costume and they sound like santa, let bring them in for i106 so we can search for the contraband we OOCly know is there like his voice changer and holokit." should not be an excuse. It is best to allow the antag to do what they wish to try and progress the round for the fun of everyone, within reason. I am not trying to condone "lol, allow the antag to kill everyone." but when you try to bring them in three minutes in, yeah, that is really shitty and i106 sadly promotes it. ============TD;LR============== You shouldn't ignore mechanics fully IC wise, sometimes you can't do something that is not supported mechanic wise. I don't like when security tells the ninja/wiz to fuck off when they physically can't and they are peace wiz/ninja. You know, this is like having beepsky arrest you and you tell the dude not to run, even though command told you to not arrest them but to watch them. This happened before, dude is not deactivating beepsky and arrests the antag for trying run from them. -

The antag does not need to do anything really for it. I'll pull my experience yesterday from how this regulation shut down one of my gimmicks in like three minutes. The dude got a warning for it, but it was far ruined. I get a holokit, voice changer, no slip shoes, agent ID card, and e-sword to be santa and give everyone presents. I use the voice changer to sing santa is coming to town on comms then I go to the bar. Security comes in, and the first thing they do is whisper to each other about arresting me for suspicious conduct, then they want to search me on the bar. The entire point of it was keeping my true identity secret, I was using three contraband items to make the entire gimmick work and add interact with the crew, that they would of found in the search. This is like the charge infiltration just because the ninja/wiz is on the station, it is extremely shitty to just straight charge you with. There is a rule to allow antags leeway in situations, i106 counteracts that rule most of the times. Lastly, the gimmick with santa was not supposed to be stealthy, that would counter the entire point of the gimmick. I can't give people presents and maybe sometimes murder people while sitting in maintenance. -
[Admin & DO] Remove i106: Suspicious Conduct
sonicgotnuked replied to sonicgotnuked's topic in Completed Projects
I understand that, but it is used to valid hunt antags. It would be a lot more fun for everyone involved to allow said person with suspicious activity to act out first, then you can arrest them. It shuts down antag gimmicks before they even start. The question is Munks, would you rather valid hunt a antag that has a interesting gimmick and shut it down before they can get it working or would you like to have a new space station 13 story where said antag did something amazing? In real life, I could see how this can be applied. But this is a game, we all play it to have fun. -
This regulation is basically a thing to promote valid hunting behavior and it shows in the parts I bolded. The only reason why this exist is to combat metagame/powergame but we have staff for a reason. This regulation can be thrown for anything and is a excuse to get someone searched. Santa is on the station? Let give him this and search him to ruin his gimmick. Some chef has budget insulated gloves? Let us search him. This is valid hunting at its finest and this activly promotes it. The repeat is a tracking implant, and I bet your antaging will be shut down when you get one of those for having a gasmask on your face or you are around some crime scene. Security should not be given a regulation that acts like a bridge to find excuses to add more charges, any security officer can use it and get you searched because they suspect you for being an antag. I understand that admins punish people for this already, but it is already too late and it can not be fixed when that happens, shutting down what might be a good antag.

Litterly this is the worst sting that a changling can use, especially paired with absorb DNA. There has been lings who ran around the station with transformation sting changing people into themselves, some random dude that they used absorbe DNA on, or worst cases, a monkey. This sting does not help to progress the round, no one likes it and there is zero counter. Please bind the sting to its original intention mechanics wise, and that is to change the bodies you absorbed. Make it restricted to the dead.

I must give a strong -1 on this also. Hammerstein was a massive headache for everyone is security and science because this character knows fully how to do security and robotics. Yes, he has improved after his player complaint on this character but I still don't think he should get a head of staff whitelist on that character from the reputation Hammerstein has grown. (I guess he will cease to be a robotisist) His actions in security is a little sideways because I feel like he is a little valid hunty when it comes down to antags with the robotics knowledge and mechs from what arrow said. You need to remember the captain is loyalty implanted and they can break regulations in reason for the best of the company and the situation. You will be loyalty implanted, you will need to follow orders and you can send a fax to central command if you need too to ask about the captain. You can't simply refuse orders when loyalty implanted. There is a difference in calling people incompetent inside comms and telling someone that they should not be doing what they are doing. I must agree that I find Adolph toxic, I hate him when I see him on the manifest and I don't like him one bit. I HIGHLY suggest making a new character if you want a head of staff whitelist, Adolph is not a good character to make HoS. Again, PLEASE make a new character and I may change my view on you getting a whitelist.

This is pretty much a common sense thing that someone reading the wiki and has a Whitelist should know. If they color their m'sai cat black or something like that, then they should be contacted. I don't see why we need something like this to set in stone. If you play a black-blue cat, pick Zhan sub speicies, white m'sai, etc. I don't see how it makes enforcement nearly impossible, because everyone should know.
-
You know that bright orange is really silly to have as a default fur color.
-
There is no reason to make voidsuits uncomfortable. Ahelp if engineer baldiMcBalderson every round start puts on a void suit and runs around the station with it the entire round. We have rules on this.
-
I am thinking this would make it better during traitor rounds, if multiple people gang together and nuke the station at the end. It is basically impossible to get the nuke codes ICly.
-
This really defeats the purpose of the resisting mechanic and I don't think this would be a good idea. It would make that arm useless until some outside force helps you.
-
Honestly, just remove the soporific, there is ways to sedate people like knocking them out using a needle with a vended bottle. I am fine with the hypospray.
-
I never use SJs as antag because I just think they are a shitty way to restrain someone. As a non antag, they are a last resort. A straight jacket is similar to removing someones arms, you can't interact with anything. If you are a antag and straight jacketted as a last resort, then I would ahelp. Another shitty thing is to straight jacket, muzzle, and blind the person when there is not much of a reason, then forget about the dude in a room (I would honestly ghost at that point) I always just stayed away from straight jackets, antag or otherwise, I don't believe in using them. This should not be a thing about throwing the dude in a room and forgetting about him. At least the brig can be escaped if no one is paying attention.

N/A usually means that it does not imply or non existent. This honestly should of been forgotten about after the round was over.
