  1. Reporting Personnel: Sylos Lir'Dev Rank of Reporting Personnel: Security Officer Personnel Involved: - Samara Kaytam, Engineering Apprentice: Offender (Snoopy11) - Veriqua Les-Quelen, Head of Security: Witness/Assisting Officer (Whiterabit) - Elim Castel, Captain: Witness (Brayce) - Bassam Saqqaf, Chief Engineer: Witness (Juani2400) Time of Incident: 9:50 Station time Real time: 14:40EDT 25/08/16) Location of Incident: Teleporter, Construction Site Nature of Incident: []Workplace Hazard []Accident/Injury []Destruction of Property [X]Neglect of Duty []Harassment []Assault [X]Misconduct [X]Other (Violations of i114, two violations of i207, and i215, respectively.) Overview of the Incident: Near a crew transfer proceeding, Captain Elim Castel ordered the arrest of Samara Kaytem, Engineering Apprentice, for breaking into the teleporter and stealing the hand teleportation device. Upon my arrival at the scene, I found that the teleporter airlock had been damaged, and was able to force it open with a crowbar. I moved inside, and noticed the hand teleporter was indeed missing. I moved into the teleporter and found myself on the construction site, with Samara standing in the airlock leading to the greater area, hardsuited in standard Engineering EVA gear. I ordered her to stop where she was and step out of the airlock, however she immediately cycled the airlock, cutting me off. I returned to the station by use of the construction site teleporter, and landed in the bridge. While speaking with the captain about expanding my access to allow pursuit, my Commanding Officer, Veriqua Les-Quelen, prepared a voidsuit for herself so that she could assist me. During these preperations, Samara teleported onto the bridge. The captain and myself both drew LTL firearms and subdued her. I then applied restraints. After a cursory search, she was found to be in possession of the hand teleporter, as well as a steel fire axe that she claims she took for the purpose of killing carp, despite three officers having been tending to such throughout the shift. I myself escorted engineers to most breach sites personally. If requested, I can provide a list of engineers that I accompanied outside to watch over. During transfer proceedings, Samara proceeded to call for her superior, the Chief Engineer, Bassam Saqqaf, for legal assistance. He could provide none, and as per my orders issued by the Captain and Head of Security, transferred her off-station for processing onboard the NTCC Odin. Did you report it to a Head of Staff or IAA? If so, who?: - Veriqua Les-Quelen, Head of Security: Whiterabit - Elim Castel, Captain: Brayce - Bassam Saqqaf, Chief Engineer: Juani2400 - Additional notes: I can confirm as an Administrator online at the time that these actions were not related at all due to antagonist involvement this round.
  2. Alright. I meant to deal with this days ago, but as per usual, RL took a giant shit on my plans as soon as something interesting rolled up, and I just now got it dealt with last night. As per the complaint, I do see the issues highlighted in Chaz's conduct in OOC. It's easily perceived as hostile, or aggressive, even if Chaz himself really doesn't mean it that way. Being insensitive is a grey blur of the 'Don't be a dick rule,' however, technically speaking, isn't technically violation. That being said, it's not really a trend that we can get continue unchecked. Also, for reference, most of administration is aware of the circumstances on lifeweb; they're irrelevant here. We've never based reviews or investigations based off of what someone has done somewhere else, because frankly, it really doesn't matter. All that concerns is how Chaz conducts himself here, on Aurora. That being said, I will be needing to speak to both of you privately. I've spoken with several other administrators hoping to find a suitable outcome given what's been said here, and it seems we've finally reached a consensus. Expect to be PM'd on the server sometime in the future. Until then, I will be locking the complaint. Pending my speaking with Gabols and Chaz, it will be archived.
  3. Perfectly acceptable; whatever blends with the established lore best. I'd be capable of creating an independent page for it on the wiki, perhaps with a link redirecting to it somewhere in the current PRA/Tajara lore page, or simply list it in a paragraph or two on the main tajara page as an, "example of military divisions" sort of thing.
  4. Most certainly. Community feedback is always welcomed on moderator applications, and is taken into account during trial review.
  5. Application accepted as of 13AUG2016. I meant to tend to this earlier, but ended up pretty sick in the morning, and had work this evening. Congratulations to Cake for a successful trial. Locking and archiving.
  6. The same. I just now got around to finishing the draft.
  7. Type (e.g. Planet, Faction, System): Military Division Founding/Settlement Date (if applicable): 2421 Region of Space: Ahdomai (Particularly, those regions/areas in which government forces are actively engaged in combat.) Controlled by (if not a faction): People's Republic of Ahdomai Other Snapshot information: Originally formed in 2421 during the revolution against tajaran nobility, but later reformed in 2442 by the government with the newly-arisen conflict. Long Description: With numerous war parties coming together in the conflict against the nobility, revolution leaders naturally assembled several units to conduct reconnaissance and field-scouting. The most renown and well-trained of these units came to become known as the Rangers. Originally comprised mainly of Zhan-Khazan and M'sai tajara, it later became an official unit within the armed forces after the government came to power. Small detachments of Rangers were typically attached to large infantry units - typically 6-22 for each main army - and reported to their own command structure. Rangers typically operate separately of infantry, and spend the bulk of their time outside of base camps and fortifications. After the first major revolt, the unit was officially reformed into a unit of the PRA military, with an official designation and placed among soldiers, however operating independently within their own numbers. The training regime for rangers is typically anywhere in between one to three months, with recruits trained in basic survival and reconnaissance skills emphasizing on self dependence within the frozen wilderness of Ahdomai. They are typically deployed for around one-year rotations before being returned home. Rangers, being a scouting unit, typically travel light on gear, carrying only the essentials. Equipment is distributed throughout the squad, ranging from long-range scopes and navigation kits, to bedrolls and tools for cooking and preparing meals within the fields. As far as weaponry, the Rangers tend to prefer simple weaponry over advanced equipment prone to malfunctioning or freezing at low temperatures. Specially designed lever-action rifles are considered standard-issue, with modifications in place designed to prevent freezing or jamming within the more sensitive components. More experienced rangers make use of small, balanced bladed weapons and silenced sidearms, however, their equipment is considered highly situational based on the assignment. The majority of rangers, whom can be found scouting the countryside and surveying enemy positions may make use of heavy, light-colored cloaks to assist them with blending in with blizzards and the snowy landscape. As much, the garb is regularly associated with them, with many common tajara being able to identify a ranger by such. Rangers are not widely known for their abilities in combat; due to being classified as scouts. Whenever spotted or compromised, they typically flee the area en masse, trading skirmishing fire with their pursuers until they are clear of the area before regrouping together at another point. From these rare occurrences, the rangers have distinguished what could be considered 'average' marksmanship capabilities as a whole, of a military standard. It is neither exceedingly efficient, nor poor.
  8. As an officer that was present during this event, let me just say that this entire incident was a massive clusterfuck with next to no planning put together by security as a whole. The officers that arrived realized that Chaz was on-scene, however, his intentions to attempt an assault were not communicated with us or the cyborg at all. We had all the exits to the lab covered, and were standing by for the captain's order before making a move. Lethal and ionic weaponry had been dispensed to prepare for a shootout. When things flew apart was when Chaz suddenly pulled his firearm and began shooting at the mercenaries with rubber bullets, as he himself confirmed, when the mercenaries were holding their hostage at gunpoint. Again, I'll reiterate, this was not coordinated; we were not even warned he was going to do this until it was already happening. Realizing that this was most likely going to end in bloodshed, we all rushed in to the lab, hoping to keep the detective from getting himself outright killed along with the hostage. What was originally a methodical and planned approach quickly broke down to, "We need to move now, because people are about to get shot." I spoke with the cyborg later that shift, ICly, and they confirmed that even they were not aware of the plan, and had to improvise their response as a result of the detective choosing to go weapons free. They were waiting for the mark to proceed just like the rest of us, but at that point, we couldn't afford to hold back. Our hands were tied, and we were forced to abandon the plan we had laid out and act.
  9. Please only post information contributing to the incident named in the complaint. Any off-handed or irrelevant posts will be removed. Thanks.
  10. Apologies. I ended up having a lot of stuff fall into my lap the past couple weeks, including the sudden requirement for me to take a 20 hour drive cross country, and as such, completely forgot about this. Following discussion with the other administrators and select moderators, it was decided that the application was to be denied, following an unsuccessful trial, due largely impart to perceived inactivity on your part. Many members of staff were unable to give positive reviews towards your trial, and a marginal amount cited discomfort given your attitude passed off in PMs, as well as server relations. Totally my fault forgetting to archive and lock this officially, it should've been done weeks ago. My apologies, but please do not let this discourage you from trying again in the future. You will be permitted to submit a new application one month from today.

    Mice Bites

    No. Locking and binning.
  12. After a lengthy discussion with the other administrators as well as a fair number of our server moderators, it has been decided that this appeal will be denied. You have a lengthy history of powergaming and valid hunting antagonists, regardless of roles, still very fresh in the minds of our staff. As such, we do not feel comfortable letting you back into the fold just yet. Don't let this discourage you from trying again in the future, though. Locking and archiving.

  14. Moderator interview, posted at applicant's permission. To be noted, due to this interview having extended over several days due to unusual circumstances on my part due to real life, it has been editted slightly, leaving only interview-related questions. Off-topic messages have been omitted. http://pastebin.com/xGXXc7Z7

    Mice Bites

Yeah, no. Mice are a low cost way for ghosts to get back into a limited role. They're designed to be, effectively, background observers to the round. No chewing cables. No causing damage to players. No removing shoes. Hell, if ever actually see a traitor mouse, I'm going to take it away and give it to someone that can actually use it to impact the round. I'm amazed there's been this much discussion lately about such a petty role. If you're wanting functionality, play as a maintenance drone, or respawn. These mouse shenanigans are getting old fast.
  16. Appeal accepted. The ban has been removed, and should take effect shortly. Locking and archiving.
  17. Very well. After speaking with my peers, we have decided that we are willing to lift the ban, due to what we recognize as a sufficiently sincere appeal, and the lengthy nature of this ban as it's been up until now. There is, however, one detail you will need to acknowledge beforehand. If you fuck up again, there will be no other chances. A permaban will be dropped swiftly if you show the slightest slip, and we will not accept an appeal for it, under any circumstances. Another mistake, and you're donezo. For good. Consider it probation. Sound good?
  18. You can go ahead and scrap the requirement for needing a bay admin's vouch. From what I'm aware of, Aurora is standing on a policy of, 'it doesn't matter what you've done on other servers, only here." By that mark, however, you've indeed racked up a bit of a rapsheet. Unfortunately, the administrator that issued this ban has hence retired. So, onto the appeal itself. I'm not entirely opposed to the idea of entertaining passing this appeal, but feel that your reason for appealing is a bit lacking. What have you learned? How have you changed? Reassure us that you won't cause the same problems all over again.
  19. Yes, acknowledged. Saw your reply in the middle of a huge roadtrip, and meant to reply and correct this then. Ended up bogged down with even more stuff. The hive color mixup was a simple error at the time. It will be corrected.
  20. They will be changing soon. Planning a rather large update for ERT.
  21. I've sent you a PM on the forums. Please read over it, and follow the instructions provided.
  22. You forgot the Commander (Cmdr.) rank. Although you did a pretty solid job covering all the player-accessible ranks. It's worth noting that Cmdr. is a rank reserved strictly for admin use, but it still exists on the chain of command for deployable ERTs. (We usually spawn in as these to brief ERTs if the station has sent a fax to us detailing the situation.) https://aurorastation.org/wiki/index.php?title=File:NT!!_Navy_-_Copy.png
  23. Hello. I was the administrator that logged this ban. At the time, the server was having a slight issue with a metamob coming to chucklefuck around the server. The exact incident in question was the result of a roboticist on a nuclear round. They constructed an IED, and placed it in the middle of a hallway, literally one click of a signaller away from breaching research, hitting another fueltank, and then hitting toxins storage by chain of reaction. I silently defused the bomb, and waited patiently to see if they were roleplaying out a reason. Such was the case. They planned to 'defend' their workplace while seceding from the station. Long story short, the bomb ended up being drug around research, leaking fuel all over the place. Security defused it, and caught the roboticist. Crisis averted, yes? That's when I see you walk up, flick a lighter, and with very clear intent, set the stream of fuel on the floor on fire with absolutely no fire protection or warning to the other people in the hall. You didn't say a word to anyone about what you were doing, if I recall. It was at this point , you registered as "the fourth guy that to wordlessly cause damage to the station within 15 minutes of joining," and you were swiftly banned. Given you have taken the time to submit and appeal, I have no complaints correcting what seems to be a misunderstanding. Unfortunately, I am on a road trip, and won't be back on the server until late tomorrow evening. Give me time to try and find an admin to unban you.
  24. So, what exactly do you plan to do to convince us that you've matured? What's changed now since then, and in what ways do you intend to improve?
  25. Considering resolved. Locking and archiving.
