  1. Needle is an extremely competent medical doctor from my experience. They know their shit. Haven't seen a truly good CMO in a while. Endorsing command whitelist. +1.
  2. Trial initiated on JUL132016. Trial due for review on AUG132016, a month from now. Good luck!
  3. Moderator interview, posted below, with applicant's permission. http://pastebin.com/Pcnb639s
  4. BYOND Key: Serveris6 Character Names: Kas'yrr Ta'kim, Noel Tettering, Telis G'nosis, Eris Reed, Jade Mae-rin, Razzan G'rssi, Luc Pulvier, A Shivering Silhouette, Talan Qu'tup, Ji'siah Korlokov, Praetorian, Rudolf Kesler, Eris Reed, Yekker, M3-D, Vur K'rlisav Species you are applying to play: Vaurca What color do you plan on making your first alien character (Dionaea & IPCs exempt): Standard vaurca green. Have you read our lore section's page on this species?: Yep. Please provide well articulated answers to the following questions in a paragraph format. One paragraph minimum per question Why do you wish to play this specific race: This is the only remaining species that I do not have a whitelist for. Partially wanting to complete my roster, and also, it's that time of the year again; time to expand my boundaries and try out a new role. Identify what makes role-playing this species different than role-playing a Human: The vaurcae are the most recently discovered species; they suffer much more discrimination than humanity or any other species, for that matter. Essentially, they are heavily bioaugmented insectoids with highly advanced technology, and have spent the majority of their life within VR simulations. Unlike humanity, who may justify their actions for many reasons, vaurcae are expected to do everything in service to their respective hives. Character Name: Ka'Akaix'Naix Zo'ra. Please provide a short backstory for this character, approximately 2 paragraphs Shortly after hatching, Naix was selected to fulfill the role of an unbound worker within the Zo'ra hive. For the majority of their youth, they resided on Titan Prime, immersed within VR. Roughly after the two years in which first contact was made, Naix was selected along with several other thousand workers to participate in the work-labor agreement between the queen and Biesel authorities. After a brief few weeks in which assignments were distributed, Naix was assigned to work on-board the NSS Exodus under the super conglomerate Nanotrasen. They were promptly assigned quarter onboard the NCV Eden, a Carrier-class ship operating within Tau Ceti for the purpose of housing Nanotrasen crew working within deep-space installations, such as the NSS Exodus, the NSS Aurora, and the NSS Canis Minor. Several days later, they were directly assigned into the Nanotrasen cadetship program and as per contract arrangements, deployed to the NSS Exodus for field-training, despite them having received absolutely no prior training in peacekeeping or combat. Entirely new to human-run organizations, and only aware of other species as they have learned from VR, they have absolutely no experience in interspecies workplaces, or Nanotrasen's operating procedures at all. What do you like about this character? The opportunity to play a blank-slate know-nothing security cadet is something I've taken an interest in for a while, and I feel that playing a recently introduced species would complement it very well. Additionally, playing a character with a naive mindsight would also be new to me, and something that I feel I could expand upon and venture into. How would you rate your role-playing ability? As with all my other applications, I'm really not sure how I could interpret this. Four years of playing on Aurora, and I'm still not a very good critic of my own abilities. I'll let the feedback speak for itself. Notes:
  5. I vaguely remember your name from a year ago, mind you, I was a DO at the time. The name itself draws up some unpleasant memories. That aside, your application does seem a bit lacking. Usually, those making appeals take one of two approaches to this. They either, A.) Admit that they were at fault, acknowledge that they learned a lesson, and apologize to staff, asking for a second chance, and state why they feel they are ready to come back. Convince us this time will be different. B.) Contest the ruling with logs/and or evidence, arguing on the basis that the ruling itself was unjust or unfair, taking the stance that you did nothing wrong. This one is more rare, and harder to do, but they have happened. Now, I don't want to see personal gripes against Tishina here, the first and foremost reason being, it's immature. Assuming you didn't provide any logs or explanation to your ban at length, I would advise defaulting to option A. So convince us. What have you learned ? How have you changed in the past year?
  6. Trial extended by two weeks, as of 7/8/2016 due to real life complications at the time. Trial will be up for round two of evaluations on 7/22/2016.
  7. staff discord channel, where we are hard at work discussing things for the betterment of the community.
  8. Application denied, as of 6.24.16. If you would like additional details concerning the specifics behind this decision, feel free to contact myself or another administrator privately. Don't let this discourage you from reapplying again in the future, but we ask you wait at least one month before doing so. Best of luck to you in your other endeavors.
  9. After speaking with Filthyfrankster in Discord PMs, we came to a peaceful resolution to this complaint with a little bit of explaining. It is indeed an IC issue, but as Frankster was told in the PMs, from time to time, modmins may poke you can ask, "Why are you doing this? 'Do you have a reason for doing this?' and it by no means automatically asserts guilt upon you. Let the record show that no warning or even as much as a player note was logged by staff as a result of this. At Frank's request, this will now be locked and archived, and considered resolved.
  10. Application accepted, pending successful trial. Welcome aboard, and congratulations!
  11. Right. Going to mull over this with the other staff over player complaints, and in the meanwhile, will be locking this topic to try and prevent the spill-out that it's turning into. Thread will be unlocked with the verdict/action, if needed.
  12. Complaint was posted during the same round it occurred. Not only that, but it was already adminhelped and processed by a moderator. Considering resolved. Locking and archiving.
  13. To emphasize, this is the appropriate place for this kind of thing. Staff complaints are not necessary.
  14. This is indeed quite of a concern. It's come to my attention, and please do correct me if I'm mistaken, but your previous administrative tenure was with Baystation, correct? I'm unsure if you've picked up on this, but many of our current players, including myself when I first came here several years ago, was a strong disagreement with how Baystation staff tended to pass judgement, or operate in general. Food for thought. What can you provide that might set you apart from them? Also, the very limited server experience is another aspect that's taken my interest. I'm almost positive you've had a very minimal immersion in the climate of things here after a week. There's cause for concern here, and I don't mean to sound like a dick in asking this, but I really can't think of a better way to word it: After a week, do you really know how things work here? Most players have adapted to the 'flow' here, and are well aware of the community. They know how players act. They know what players here want in a moderator. They are well aware of and have usually taken an active stand in the community in shaping policy, before they even consider applying for a staff position. This isn't something covered in the trial; it's simply something you become attuned to after spending time around it.
  15. Complaint considered resolved. Locking and archiving.
  16. Let me get in touch with Firstact, and have them post their side of things here. Additionally, I would like for Alberyk to give a brief description of events from their own account, as well as any security personnel that were involved in this (killed or taken hostage, specifically.)
  17. Moderatorship trial period initiated on May 25th, 2016. Period will conclude on June 25th, where a decision will be made on staff depending on how things go. Best of luck, Nat. As always, the community is free to post critique for the trial period here.
  18. Can confirm, Garn is a massive prick. He'd make a great tree. Provide him with tree. He's shown himself to be a very capable roleplayer as non-humans, especially as a synthetic. The character here looks pretty solid as well.
  19. Following review from administration and moderation staff, it has been decided that your application has been denied for the reasons for which were privately discussed with you. Please do not let this discourage you from re-applying in the future - preferrably after a month's time from now. Best of luck in your future endeavors, and my apologies.
  20. Moderatorship trial period initiated on May 24th, 2016. Period will conclude on June 24th, where a decision will be made on staff depending on how this goes. Good luck!
  21. Applicant interview, posted publicly at their discretion: http://pastebin.com/B6gjA28A I'll admit when this application first opened, I was a tad skeptical towards Natwhite, mostly due to the fact that I only ever really saw them on the sidelines in dsay commenting somewhat cynically on going-ons. Since then, however, I've been paying much closer attention to their behavior and mannerisms, and feel I made a bad first impression. This, coupled with their interview, which I found to have been very enlightening, has fully changed my opinion on the matter, and it would be my pleasure to see Natwhite trailed as a moderator in the next cycle.
  22. Do you think your schedule would free up more with the school semester coming to an end? We're currently looking for more moderators for the summer. Would this be something you would be interested in?
  23. I can't say that I'm terribly familiar with you. I haven't even seen you much since recruitment opened. Are you still active in the community? Could you expand further on your knowledge of Baystation mechanics? What jobs are you most comfortable playing as, for example? Which do you find particularly difficult?
  24. Accepted as of May 19th, 2016. Locking and archiving. Congratulations.
  25. Given the inactivity, and all points having been addressed, we will now consider this issue resolved. Locking and archiving.
