  1. I dont think that there is a way to express how much I agree with Omicega. Thank you, Omicega, I think you basically said what needs to be said
  2. Have a look at this: https://wiki.aurorastation.org/index.php?title=Guide_to_Character_Records You can see that these always end with "X's Notes". Doctor, Recruiting Officer, such comments about your character would fit in there the best, I'd say.
  3. Solarian, submarine-born Skrell aren't something that are a thing to my knowledge. My Skrell knowledge is not 100% up-to-date, so anyone can correct me on that. But even if it is, the application shows no actual knowledge of Skrell lore, considering it entirely dodges the Federation and everything tied to it or anything relating to their culture, actually, except maybe that Skrell are big smart. I also don't believe in your ability to roleplay, at all. To be upfront with you, I know of at least two people you actually make uncomfortable playing along your characters. One of them is me. You also like to be passive-agressive, unable to differentiate IC and OOC and tip-toe around rules. I will not support this application or any other application from you, as it stands right now.
  4. I enjoy your characters (those I know at least), so I have little doubts in you playing Tajara. Your backstory is good, too I'd say. Two more questions: He follows Ma'ta'ke, which god of the Pantheon does he follow? He has fought in the war, against the enemies of the New Kingdom. How does he see PRA and DPRA Tajara after these events? He knows that there are a lot of differently aligned Tajara in Tau Ceti, how does he react to that?
  5. This is basically going back to how things were and did not really work out well. Boggle summed it up very well actually. There used to be a time where everyone just played surgeon (and thus picked the alt-title for it) because surgeries apaprently were the hot shit, for some reason. There are two ORs, there should be two surgeons, period, since that is how it works in-game. You dont need more than one surgeon for a surgery. I find the "attending physician" equally bad, for the reasons Boggle also stated. The Medbay's jobs have clear definitions on who does what. Chemistry (bless them) prepares medication, Medics bring injured into the Medbay, Physicians tend to GTR and ICU and surgeons operate. I dont see the reason why this should be changed. It is one of the better working departmental systems on the server. I'd like to hear some arguments that were brought up in the discussion you mentioend and that "work for 90% of the medical player base". I have very recently started playing medical again after over 2 years of not being able to channel the mental capacity nessecary for it and I have yet to see one of the "problematic super doctors". The only thing I agree with is that the graphic on who is allowed to do what looks a bit like a shitpost. But it helps to differentiate both professions, in a good way.
  6. have I ever told you the tale of sussus amogus?

    1. goolie

  7. What are the concerns about the gamemode? I haven't heard any so I am curious what it is that makes people uncomfortable.
  8. Well, it can be tweaked, to fit our expectations, surely. I kind of like it, honestly. There was a suggestion to port persistent-ish graffiti and sticky notes, too, which fade over time. I like both suggestions, honestly. Especially on the ship I think it can be fun to find sticky notes in maintenance tunnels with something funny or interesting written on it. Some people already kind of do this by using the notice boards and having pre-written random office notices (e.g. "Who took my food out of the conference room last week?") at hand to make their workplace more lively.
  9. I dont get it
  10. I agree with Read. The last screenshots sold it to me, do it, Matt.
  11. Well, after looking at it, I give it that it is moodier. Maybe testmerge and have a poll or whatever or make this the feedback thread. Why not
  12. While I don't hate this, I also dont really like it? I don't know, of course, it's because we are used to it being brighter, but it looks like night mode now. As I said, not sure if I like it. How does actual night mode look with this change?
  13. I think this is reasonable. Expectations shfit, lore shifts, everything is in motion. People who haven't played a year or more maybe do not live up to the standards that are expected from command nowadays. I think it's reasonable.
  14. While I am not a lore dev, I have worked with you before. As CCIA I never had any problem with you and I was sad to see you go, but such things happen, life gets busy. What I find questionable is your attitude since you came back. You get heated very quickly, when it comes to discussions about alien species. Especially when the topic are Vaurca. It's fine to have a clear favourite (I think a lot of people do) but it's not fine to just assume things and get mad because your favourite doesnt get what you want it to have. Specifically I am talking about this comment you made earlier today: I dont think this attitude is a healthy one, even if you apply as lore dev for another species, since who says you won't apply this mindset to Unathi instead now? While it's nice that you want to contribute, I think you are overdoing it. Well, if I had any doubt before, I dont have it anymore: If that is your way to deal with criticism (It wasn't even that, it was more concerns), then I don't think you're a fit for any staff position.
  15. Feel free to code lifting/weights. Other than that it is nothing new that some species cannot perform like in lore. It took ages until Tajara got darkvision, despite being lore. Also generally saying "people hate content for vaurca" is just senselessly talking down on people. No one hates content for vaurca, but no one wants unfun mechanics either. What is proposed here is just not good. Anything balancing wise, regarding speed and survivability is a whole other topic
  16. Just so you know, the big space South of mining is the Skipjack landing site. So if you use that, it can happen that your drills get crushed. As for drill placement - use the deep ore scanner to detect what tiles have good stuff in it to drill out. But I found it all more or less the same, except maybe the odd one out super rich tile. But those are random, I think
  17. Why do you think that aspects of lore that may not be very utilized (like your exmaple, the Techno-Conglomerate) should be removed, despite already being in place and give good aspects to expand upon? Don't yo think that this could lead to unnessecary retcons (something I dont like, at all)? Do you think that aspects of lore that are not utilized as often (or can be utilized, depending on what it is) on station/with gimmicks/with characters should be removed? You say, that stop adding stuff is your first priority, and you also say that the amount of stuff is a problem, do you think that our lore, with all the additions that were made over the past years, is in a worse place, than e.g. 2017 lore?
  18. Very solid theories. It's always interesting to see how OOC things may be explained ICly. Have you ever thought about that Bluespace could also just be a gate to another Universe? You bring up real life theories, so maybe Bluespace is a gate into just an alternate Universe, as the Multiverse Theory suggests. The Veil, as you called it could be thinner in some places. Maybe the Romanovich Cloud, through any anomalous property it might have the Veil is thinner, meaning that Bluespace has more of an effect to the real world. Some examples, you also brought up could be the randomized asteroid (no one finds it strange that the asteroid is randomized every shift, it's like no one notices or can notice it), crashed ships, which have been crashlanded or shot down because in another universe during the latest solarian invasion it was shot down there (as an example). Structures could be the same, solarian listening posts because the latest interstellar conflict has led to a cold war situation, maybe they were constructed because some advanced cloaking technology exists in another universe - the possibilities are endless. Fun read, I'd love some more anomalous things in lore. Both for IC and OOC knowledge.
  19. Sounds like insane effort for something minor
  20. So, they only do this to protect other Vaurca, then? I'll be honest, I dont know much about Ra, I have not caught up to it, yet. I mean, it sounds reasonable enough, question is if it's nessecary. How is the armor buff explained ICly?
  21. While I agree with both sides here, let's not forget that the Aurora is (believe it or not) a kind of elitist-ish workplace. Where the smart and brightest (again, hard to believe sometimes I know) work. So it would make sense that it has better conditions than the bieselitte sweatshop around the corner.
