""strictly enforced"", yeah, very.

BYOND Key: KingOfThePing Character Names: Crossed out ones are either not played (anymore) but still remain for emotional reasons, played only a handful of times and are not "finished" yet or jokes for deadchat that are not played at all. Species you are applying to play: Unathi What color do you plan on making your first alien character: Brown-orangish (Sand coloured) Have you read our lore section's page on this species?: Yes Please provide well articulated answers to the following questions in a paragraph format. One paragraph minimum per question. Why do you wish to play this specific race: I think many know that I am quite intrigued, when it comes to (alien) social constructs, societies and the like. Past examples of me was an overly Queen loving Vaurca, a war refugee Tajara, as well as a medical doctor from the People's Republic of Adhomai. All these character concepts involved the society they came (or escaped) from and what problems and challenges this brings in their daily (work) life. Unathi are no exception and probably the strongest and, for me personally, the most important and interesting aspect of learning how to properly roleplay this species. On the wiki it is explained in great length, what social standings mean and in what way Unathi think and behave. It was a very interesting read and I wanted to be able to be a part of it. Identify what makes role-playing this species different than role-playing a Human: Unathi have interesting ways of interacting with others, their surroundings and how to express themselves. Respect and honour plays a major role for them, this directly affects how (and even to whom) they are talking. Properly or inproper wording can be the reason for an argument or even a fight. This also includes things as social standing and even basic things like what sex they are talking to. Cultural differences also have a way heavier impact to the personality of a Unathi than as, for example, a human. A good body language plays a major role, way more than humans. Playing a Unathi that is missing key parts of their culture, for example, an atheist one, has a much heavier impact on how they (would) behave in different situations. It is much more noticable than an atheist human, for example. They have specific ways of expressing anger, distress or irritation. They even visibly react differently to the temperature of their surroundings. All in all, if you go the extra mile to roleplay it properly, keen eyes are able to tell how a Unathi is feeling or thinking, without them saying a word. Character Name: Azuzhol Zuusk'ur Please provide a short kind of long backstory for this character: Early Years (2429-2437): Wartime (2437-2449): Post-War (2449-2455): The Grim Compact and Present Day (2455-2461): What do you like about this character? Azuzhol or Azu for short, is "only" 32 years old, but has experienced a lot of shit times during his life. Being pressured early on to follow his father's footsteps, to the war he, for quite some time, was too young to even understand what was going on, to six years of piracy he never wanted but had to endure, since it was the only way to just not die, makes him a multifaceted character. He's not a dumb brute, he enjoyed a good education during his youth, but he has also seen and experienced what people do to survive, what he himself is capable of enduring when there is no other choice. What it means to lose something, or, in his case, someone to circumstances he has no influence over. He never gave himself up, his believes and principles keeping him afloat, rules and honor keeping his head up there. He lost a lot, has endured terrible times, twice, and is ready to start something new, somwhere new. How would you rate your role-playing ability? Solid six out of ten. Notes: I wanted to post this twelve weeks ago. It has gone through /many/ iterations and has been reformatted a lot of times. I hope I have not overlooked fragments of older iterations still being in there and hope all sentences make sense. I had quite some troubles and one big brain thought process with the character's story and I am sure I did get /something/ not right so please point out anything that's either stupid or is just wrong so I can correct it. The original story was easily double in length, especially the Grim Compact and Present Day portion but I felt like it was immense bloat and cut it down significantly. If anyone still wants it, yeet me a DM and I'll send it your way soon(tm). e: I know I did not specifically pointed out which job Azu is going to be taking on the Aurora. I left this open on purpose, since I did not entirely decided on it yet. I can only say that it will be an entry level position, most likely Engineering Apprentice.

what is up with people and their questionable round join/round leave/round ready suggestions. This is still just a game, people. -
okay nevermind, Doxx is my new HERO

??

It's just personal preference, probably. You are right if you say the current ones look a bit strange. These here are just so small and I find it strange looking.
-
Defibs please, I beg you

Finally, some good fucking medical system improvements
-
less than toys, obviously

Okay the only thing that bothers me a bit is, that arterial blood usually is brigt red, due to the high oxygen amount in it. The new sprites thought, look darker than the rest. It's only minor and I wouldnt mind it if you say that it's not worth your time but I just wanted to point it out.

Impressive animations, a very good sprite in general. I am very skeptical with these things but it looks like this one is both well done, well thought out and well deserved to get implemented. Good luck, big boi.

Look at the /very/ first post, this is something I said is a requirement exactly because of that reason. -

[Withdrawn] Peppermint96 - Command Application
KingOfThePing replied to Peppermint's topic in Whitelist Applications Archives
I have observed your HoP that is now a CMO, apparently (if you changed it, then maybe change it here in the app, too. It's kind of confusing) and what I saw was not the hottest shit in the west, sadly. I'm honest that I do not know any of the characters you listed above so I must assume that you never played medical before and are now trying to lead a department that you do not know. The round I observed (b4I-b08E) was very chaotic and a lot of shit was vented, but as I was spectating you got a patient, a Unathi with nasty injuries. Because medical was vented you decided the best course of action is to get into surgery to get the tools to perform surgery. In the main hallway, which was vented, without painkillers, a sedative or anesthetics. Just cutting that dude open. You didn't even save them, they died, because you were unable to treat an arterial bleeding which you were told by the patient even where it is. I don't want to be an asshole here but you do not seem to grasp the mechanics nessecary to effectively lead the medical department, yet. Play as intern or doctor, learn the role, learn what playing medical is all about and then apply to lead the department. For now a clear -1 from me, sorry. -

@The lancer I'll do it again, if you ask nicely
-
By the way, what does the "BLV" stand for? Biesel.....Legion......? Just curious.
-
Look too much like the old ones, which I also didn't like. Sorry but no thanks from me.
-
Should be an item that is accessible for everyone in the psych locker. Psychs need more tools that aren't either shit or nonsense.
-
Long overdue. I'd do it, too. Sounds fun.

Good answer, I also like them very much. Except Central Command.
