  1. I was merely saying that it might need a different prefix, not that this is a bad suggestion
  2. this is probably the one reason you shouldnt vote for dismissal with. if both serve the same function but it is just a fluff title (like chef and cook) then it should be added. the problem is that they do NOT have the same duties (one digs, one researches)

  5. OOC action will be taken in this case. Closing.
  6. The feature will not work as it is suggested, it would need a prefix that is not as common as the currently used language prefixes (,number) since numbers and commata are too easily typed in sentences, so, you could accidentally type in a different language. Besides that a good suggestion

  9. Hepatica is a dear friend of mine so my opinion is biased. I have known her for a long time now, and ever since her return from the land of the banned I have not had a single bad interaction with her new characters as well. Despite my bias I firmly believe that she is more than capable to play good command. An easy +1 and worthy of a trial.
  10. Holy shit I have been looking for something like that for weeks now. I didnt know /tg/ has it. You are doing god's work
  11. I think this was suggested before in some capacity and it was rejected because third party ship characters are not meant to be "permanent" characters or something like that
  12. Just make sure to add prooper display stands with plaques on them you can write on what you see inside.
  13. While a buffet sounds cool it kind of isolates the chef. Interacting with people is kind of THE RP source for chefs. Maybe as an addition/alternative? Problem is the space down there is very limited (painful memories of my kitchen remodel) so I am not sure where to put this.
  14. Liking this a lot.....
  15. Bridge Crew is Command Support, not service
  16. TO: Crew of the SCCV Horizon FROM: Human Resources, Central Command SUBJECT: DECORATION REPORT -------------------- Body: Dear valued employees, it is with a great honour, that I was chosen to bring you this message. You all knew, that the journey on the Horizon would not be an easy one, when you all signed up and embarked on it almost 9 months ago. Yet some situations are out of the ordinary, even for the mission you were given. The day of the 10th of December 2464 was one of these days. You all were called to assist a very dangerous situation, a situation none of you were expecting, a situation Command never wanted to put you in. Yet you heeded the call and did more than we could have ever imagined. The efforts of every single one of you on this day contributed to the outcome you achieved, but naturally some of you were fortunate enough to just be in the right place at the right time. This report and announcement serves as a way to make known these, who went above and beyond their duties, remaining brave and steadfest and putting their personal safety second. Central Command wishes to recognize the efforts of these crewmembers specifically and award them appropiately: The crew in question are: Asher, Miner: Awarded the Medal of Merit, Second Class, for receiving extensive damage while fending off attacking Solarian Marines, on a hostile ship, which were both heavily armed and determined to stop him and his colleagues from the defusal of a dangerous warhead. Ka’Akaix’Sotis C’thur, Xenoarcheologist: Awarded the Medal of Merit, Second Class, for disarming a dangerous warhead, while under heavy fire of Solarian Marines on a hostile ship, which were both heavily armed and determined to prevent his successful defusal of a phoron-based warhead of unknown destructional force. And for the first time since it's endowment, crewmember: Aaila Abdul-Ghani, Atmospheric Technician is awarded our highest decoration, the Miranda Cross (POSTHUMOUS), for making the ultimate sacrifice and giving her life while fending off attacking Solarian Marines on a hostile ship. Her determination and willpower ensured the successful defusal of the phoron warhead, as well as the survival of her colleagues, all while facing heavy fire from highly trained soldiers. Baron and Baroness Abdul-Ghani will receive the decoration in their daughter's name. There are others who have distinguished themselves and will receive a mention in despatches. A full and complete list about the names of them will be submitted soon after the announcement of this report. We invite all crew who are not scheduled to work to attend the ceremony on the 23rd of December. More information about this can be found here on the NTNet. -------------------- DTG: 19-12:31-TAU CETI STANDARD-12-2464 SIGN: Office of the Central Command Internal Affairs Bureau Supervisor

  18. No thanks, as for the reasons Faye said
  19. It is an interesting concept to take ghost role characters and use them as application characters - but I personally do not like this take. I am upfront and say I know none of your characters (at least by name) so I dont know how you define "established" but third party characters getting hired by NT/SCC is a bit of a stretch, considering where we are on the star map. But that's only my take on that. Regarding the characters themselves I identified a few problems with your application. As a few people recently, you throw in things but dont really explain what they mean for the character. If you claim these characters to be well established, I expect a lot more here. Let's begin: Regarding Kharah Zakhrran: You mention the Temple of the Holy Blessed Suns and that she was raised in a "conservative S'rand'marr household". What does this mean for her? What does she think about religion in general? She is a "quarter noble" (so that already excludes her being a "normal" Hharar), was born "around the turn of the century" (making her ~60 today) and her grandmother was also a noble before the revolution, but that was not recognized for some reason. You either worded this strangely or your entire timeline is pretty wrong. Before dissecting it further I give you the chance to correct me if I misunderstood it. What do you mean with she "joined the PRA"? If she lived near Sana Sahira she just lived in the People's Republic (from 2433 onwards, at least) - I dont know what you mean with "joining" the current global state (after the First Revolution). Now to her military career and here it gets really weird. Kharah, as stated is/was(??) a member of the Kosmostrelki. First - if she dislikes/hates Hadiism how did she fool her way to be a Kosmostrelki? A very specialized and quality branch of the armed forces? How did she achieve this as a woman, no less? After four years of military service (where she apparently only did cleaning and cooking) she "moved to Trizar in the DPRA" to get educated. The three major powers on Adhomai arent really best friends so migrating to and from one of those states is not just showing your passport and filling out a form to move somewhere else. How did she do it? Did she had to do it covertly? Why the DPRA and not the NKA, when she is a (basically unrecognized) noble or at least with noble blood in her? As I said I may have misunderstood your "Born in at the turn of the century [...]" I will leave it at that. If I didn't misunderstood it then I have quite a few more things to point out. Regarding Sa'adia Khadirr: She was "raised in [the] FTC on Himeo during her youth" so I assume she was either born in the 2420's or shortly before so she probably never saw or experienced much of Adhomai. Fine, yet especially for young Tajara, the entirety of Volin's plan is very abstracted - since its for a place they dont know or been to really. It is still a great topic for himean Tajara, what does Sa'adia think about it? You mention she was raised in a "safe, if somewhat radical" state. Can you explain what you mean? Himeo/the Free Tajara Council, especially during it's founding years was far from safe - they were basically enemies with everyone and fighting was intense. If I didnt misunderstood your timeline here either she was also part of the exodus to Crevus? How did this event shape her? Himeo is known for its heavy industry, so her choice of work is fine, but how was her life on Himeo? The FTC still brought their culture with them, what religion does she follow, what are her views on Adhomai, who were even her parents? And so on. Regarding D'jed Sebek'khu: This character, as you described it is as basic as it can get. We know next to nothing about him, but even if, application characters (as far as my last knowledge about it goes) cannot be "non-Adhomai" characters. Meaning they have to be born and at least experienced some culture and history on Adhomai to be applicable for a whitelist character. This may have changed. But even then it is a basic criminal Zhan concept that doesnt need any lore kowledge at all. Why he especially only dislikes the PRA because of discrimination also goes above my head, the NKA is at least equally bad. Alas, this character, due to the mentioned reason should be disregarded entirely. To come to a close, I dont think you haven't read the lore - I just think you sadly haven't read it very well. I would recommend you to read important lore bits thoroughly again and to create a new, unique and thought-out character for your application, instead of three half-baked ghost role characters, because none of the three are convincing.
  20. The only thing I am worried about is having gigantic language bloat like bay(?) has. That's not good with 10 languages and those 10 have 5 sub-types each. Please do not do that. We have accents for that, I guess.
  21. Why, in this universe, would you want a module, that cannot perform it's main function (to clean) except when another player (probably a janitor who also wants to clean) uses you to clean. Instead of his own cleaning tools. That he has a lot of + the pussy wagon. There is no situation in this reality that this is fun or engaging or needed.
  22. This is just original Bones, sorry?
  23. And? I dont understand that argument. It has a large Medbay, too. Is it a hospital ship?
  24. Some points have been made, some points have been brought up that make me scratch my head. The Horizon is an exploration vessel, not a research vessel. We are not researching phoron, we are looking for it. I don't know where this stubborn opinion that we are a research ship are stems from. Maybe someone wrote it somewhere sometime long ago but it's not the case. Now, to the events. I believe it is a very big task to try to involve everyone of the crew. It's nigh impossible I'd say. Fact is that ship-to-ship combat involves more crew into combat and conflict than ever before in a very natural way. The Horizon is no military vessel but deep space exploration or missions that involve only one ship mean you have to take care of yourself. There is nothing wrong. There was a deliberate choice against up-armoring security or give them boarding pods. It's fine as is and even if given a bigger arsenal, together with heavy weapons it would not make them a military. Or at least not more than the PMCG characters already are. On the events - I personally didn't find the first dreary futures too engaging. This one is much better. Especially the last event, where there was both an away mission AND a space battle was very cool. Really engaging and stakes were high. Really liked it a lot. I agree that there must be better available summaries for the players who couldnt attend. The very nature of our new setting makes situations more complicated, politically and geopolitical. All in all, let's be honest - no one wants a nother politics arc where some random politician holds a speech on the holodeck. If I want my share of IC politics, I read the news articles. This doesnt mean that there should never be something like this, but currently events build on intruige and mystique. Very well actually. Lore locations have to be utilized more, but a lot is still work in progress, including away sites, planets, ruins, etc. It is a gargantuan task to implement all this and it takes time, that's why I dont understand statements like It's undermining the great tasks that have been undertaken by everyone who was and is involved. Feedback has been very good and while I dont always agree with the loremasters they both do an actually good job with what is going on. I might risk coming off as rude, but people who don't contribute at all, might not see the really big amount of work this is. Sure, buddy just like the last 20 times someone called this. 👍
  25. Wezzy is very humble so he didnt post in here, but he has a PR up already and has pretty much all you people requested: https://github.com/Aurorastation/Aurora.3/pull/15172
